Bear, though I stopped my roaccutane last Aug. But till now, I still scared loh. Though my doc told mi the medicine will stay in the body for like 3 mths but got one doc told mi that medicine will stay for 6 mths. Yah, some guys like tat loh ... only wanna enjoy. I dun wan listen to take medicine/surgery. He scared having one more then he shld be the one who go for the 'male' surgery.

Think as our tummy expands, we tend to see our tiny hairs on tummy more obvious bah. I also now realise how come tiny hair on my tummy so obvious le.

Wax: If gg for C-sect, we will also be naked at the bottom? Feel so paiseh abt pubic hair .. somemore my gynae is a male. But scared B-wax pain. How much does B-wax cost?

Nikki, I think I saw maternity swimwear at Mothercare @ Parkway Parade.

Jo and Maggie, i did a lot of research on roaccutane and conception. only managed to find one scientific paper that tracked ppl who finished roaccutane and subsequently gave birth. The manufacturers recommend 30 days before conception but the study showed that if a woman conceived aft she stops roaccutane, the risk of having a deformed bb is the same as every other woman. If you are interested in reading this study, let me know. I can send it u.

I spoke to my gynae abt this and he told me that roaccutane's stay only max of 48hrs in the body. which is consistent with wat i have researched upon. as long as during cell division, roaccutane is not in the bloodstream, the chances of getting a mutation is very very small. moreover, my gynae delivered 2 normal bbs whose mums were taking roaccutane all the way into the first couple of wks after conception. so he told me i can try for a bb even though i stopped roaccutane only 2 wks before.

I think u guys are safe. don't worry ya? so far all my tests came back normal. I m not worrying abt it cos the foetus was nv exposed to roaccutane.

Peanut, u can stay celibate forever lah... ahahaha... wait u and ur hb explode with all the sexual tension!

Happy, aiyah now u got the experience liao.. won't be as gabra as the first time.

my tummy has gotten much more hairy since preggy too. hubby always tease me says i look like a furry kitty now..i feel like waxing my tummy too but Strip also recommended doing waxing later in 3rd tri. I'll check with gynae closer to due date bout the waxing. i dun like shaving too,gets all pokey!

swim wear:
i hv been wearing my regular bikinis. initially in 1st tri looks like i just have flab. but now its looks a lil more like i am preggie. tankinis are great too for mummies that like a lil more coverage. i think regular swim wear should be ok?

but hor the nurses wont shave all the pubic hair leh..only a certain portion nia..so bcome like some area has hair & some area hairless...so up to u la..if u prefer same pubic hair length then can chk if B-Wax is ok for u before u do it..if not then wait till nurses helped u shave that certain area ba..

Agree with happy that we still have to look our best even now. Still diligently putting on make-up when gg out.

I think it'll be betta in case the midwives just shave when the time comes. It'll be pokey plus the pain, think we're gonna feel irritated. But is it safe to do it during 3rd Tri?

no doubt that first time waxing (esp full brazilian wax) is going to hurt. but depends on ur threshold for pain too. to me, it was worth it coz i just love being so clean there! thats why i ended up spending lots to go for IPL, its more effective and lasts longer. but i think after giving birth i will save up to go for "maintenance" sessions.

i got a new bra at Marks and Spencer few weeks ago and its comfy! i love their stuff. ex, but good quality.=> i chose a non-wired bra for extra comfort.

maternity leave:
i'm very blessed coz boss already told me i can plan how i want to take my maternity leave. he's pretty (or very, i must say) flexi coz to him family comes 1st. => i am planning to take a couple of days before EDD and then spread out leave after delivery..will see how i manage with the new baby!hee..

dog replacement: initially, i did think of what a shame, i do not have her offspring to remind me of her. i sterilised her long ago as i do not intend to breed. I started to look around for breeds like her (silky terrier x poodle) but discovered none can replace her. Plus i still have 2 dogs to take care of, why still brood over what's past. I 'kan kai'le. as long as i remember her and the joy she used to bring, its enough. *sob*

Detail scanning: did mine yesterday. Wow bb is really active. keep moving about. The lady say bb is making her eyes blur. Hahaha.. Plus, she commented that bb hands are slender ??? huh, bb is boy leh, slender hands...???!!! hopefully she only meant it as a compliment. Also, she say most bb suck their thumbs not mine, he likes to squeeze his nose. saw him open his mouth too. Overall, i enjoyed detail scanning.. very fast, less than 30 mins.

Tats what my DH feels too. He also brood over the fact tat we din have her offspring. Actually DH was the 1 who took brownie's death the hardest, he couldn't stomach any meat for quite awhile after her death (he is those who can't live without meat)

Even I m shocked by his reactions & din dare to cry infront of him coz it will trigger the both of us again & again but I often find him juz sitting there, staring straight & I know he is thinking of brownie again...poor man.

if i can remember, my last detailed scan for my 1st preg lasted abt 45 mins. mine was conducted by another gynae which my gynae referred me to. I can only remember he checked alot on the blood flow etc...into the heart, the valves etc... there will be quite a lot of printouts and some in colour... I think mainly is to check the heart if i can remember correctly...

Dr Chan does not do detailed scan leh... it is optional to go for detailed scan under him although he said it is strongly recommended. It will be done between week 18 to week 20 and he will refer you to another gynae to do it. So I am doing it tmr while next week will be my 20 week check at Dr Chan. This other gynae will explain, and also provide 2 sets of printouts and reports. 1 set for u to keep, another set to pass to Dr Chan to review with you during your week 20 check.

oh, as for the shaving, i was also worried.... but so happy that it is not required by Dr Chan

hui, i think your situation may be the same as mine.
Remember, i said prev, painful cramps and seek gynae immediately. Initially dr think i may have infection but i pee also no pain. In the end, the pain just goes off and the test come negative. Think could be the bb moving or ligaments pressure, i dont know. You take care ya.

I'm tempted to go for one too. But I don't want to do full, I want half, so still left some hair, more sexy I feel, ha ha ha! I always DIY and I used to use a kind of epilator cream. Super useful! Just apply and leave it for 7 minutes and then wipe it off, tada, the hairs follow. But I'm afraid the chemicals too strong for baby. So thinking of going waxing but so afraid of pain! Plus super paiseh ah. Maybe all first-timers should do it together!

I think those waxing places would also recommend u wait till late 3rd trimester to do it. Heard from my fren that delivered last yr, her gynae did say can trigger early labour, so best to do it aft wk 37. I rather wax then shave cos u know lah, we doing confinement also cannot wash.. shaving makes the area very itchy!

Take a look at this http://www.strip.com.sg/. they have different X factors with brazilian wax being XXXX. can choose the shape u want.. like lightning bolt or heart shape if u dun wanna take everything away. but hor if u choose funny shape and ur gynae sees it during delivery, quite funny too!

I'm esp angry with the vet who handles my dog's treatment. till now, i think i still blame her for causing her to get worse.
