dun worry please.... as long as the meds are safe to eat by your gynae or GP, they are fine. I took many kinds of med during my 1st preg and my baby turned out fine. i had a smooth and pretty fast delivery and baby is so far so good.

i was on cat B med (nexium 40mg) for almost my entire preg last time. I did some research and it is advisable to eat if it brings benefits to the mother. If you are overstress, it can cause pre-mature labour. So don't give yourself undue pressure ok...

1 question. Whats the purpose of Prenavit and Folic acid? I am so sick of taking these supplements. Now I am skipping prenavit and only take folic acid, as I remember folic is good for baby's development right?? Sorry, I am not a believer of supplements de. :p

ailibaba - yes.. the package is ard 500 plus but tt is only normal delivery. Dr Ang will explain to you when u are ready to take up the package.

I super ks lay, the moment I know I am pregnant, I already signed for the package le...hee $550. Cause first time already need to pay $130+, so I tot might as well take up package immediately. Somemore the gynea I went to, I only need to pay half first, then pay half after another 2-3 visits, thus I feel quite worth it. ^^
 
hehe.. tink i wont sign up upon 1st visit wor. i shall see how is the gynae & i am comfortable with him anot den decide. ^_^

So package doesnt consist of any medicine or supplements we take right? separate cost? scans/tests?

The package I took up includes medication and supplements. So far, I went to see him for headache and ms, he never charge me for medications, normal scan will be included also. I dont knw what are the different scans available, but think my gynea no 3D scan de, but I am ok with that, so its not a concern for me. I think I am pretty comfortable with him the first visit, so I took up the package with him lor...keke..

Oh no...I juz try to take my calcium pill & nearly puke, it is so chalky taste.

Dunno how m i gng to take this everyday...cry!

Prenavit i tink = Prenatal vitamins. Mine is one pill include all major vitamins + folic so 1 pill per day.. But its so huge i got problem swollowing.. need to cut into 4 pcs before taking.. then the after taste make me wan to vomit..

Wait till they give the iron pill, worst !!

i have been taking calcium tablet ev day too.. mine is pink color. take it imediately with water shld be tasteless de bah..
 
so yucky if it's too big.. mine size acceptable de wor.. like normal panadol size.. i usually swallow it with folic acid. haa.. or my throat is too big.... haa...

Maggie noodle,, i also have that last wk. Once a while shd be ok, but when u cook the noodle, is best to drain the water, then add new hot water. I read from somewhere abt this, not sure how true, but no harm trying.

u wonderwoman lei.. can eat 2 packets of noodle.. nowadays i can only take half portion of what i norm take. Esp hate seeing rice these days.. then my MIL keep cooking brown rice somemore i see liao damn no appetite. i finally told her 2days ago i dun like rice so she cook something separate for me now

I havent start taking the calcium tablets yet. Maybe the prenavit will have, but its simply very fan wei to eat that. So big!! Then hor, after that when I bulp hor, like got the medicine smell....I hate. I havent been taking tat regularly.

I know how you feel. Even when I try to drink the medication for my gastric, I will puke also, and its milky / chalky that kind....very er xin!

hahaha... i tink all the pregnant women same same lah hate all these multivits.My last appt i told gynae i cant swollow the vit pill so she gave me another type for chewing/sucking one.. Taste much much nicer but she say eventually stil better to take back the multivit. I start taking back today cutting into 4 pcs.. so people need to swollow once i need to swollow 4 times aargghh... When the iron pill is here i mayb need to cut that into 6 pcs so total i need to swollow 10 times per day waahhahaaa... ganasai rite..

I just got back from a buffet.. hb's bday today so we decided to go out and eat.. didn't eat much though.. no appetite.. but def ate more than my usual amt. heh...

Hrmm i think i would still go for it even though i m only 27.. for me i feel that i need to know everything. If bb isn't healthy i can make decisions quickly.

Peanut, Sumei, i don't think ur meds can be any worse than mine. I was taking roaccutane, which is a category X meds. Tat means it is a mutagent. i only stopped it less than a mth before i got preggie. the recommended time allowance is a whole mth. My gynae reassured me that as long as the foetus is not exposed to the meds, it shd be ok. Plus i did some research and found the same conclusion as well. don't worry abt it.

I cannot tahan my DHA pills! they really stink!!! burp already got smell. so far i got no prob swallowing pills... everyday it is 4 pills in the morn for me.. sometimes see already also sick.

How come u guys gynae's pkg so cheap? mine is 2.8K and inclds natural delivery. ur pkgs incld delivery yet? i need to pay half at 20 wks and the rest 2 wks aft i give birth. for now all consultations are free, which is gd for me cos i m going there almost once a wk.

Me also wonder why some of ur package so cheap?

I am not on any multi-vit or calcium supplements yet. My gynae onli gave me Folic+B6 and Hormone pills to take. I think he will give those after I sign up package, as those supplements comes with t package.

Ur gynae prescribe u DHA pill? I tot drink ney ney for that can liao. me taking EnfaMama which consist of DHA and choline - heard from a lot this brand is highly recommended.
 
Sumei, u are saying ur pkg inclds pills? that's not too bad! I think one bottle of DHA 30 pills cost me $27! My pkg doesn't incld supplements.. sigh.. can somebody pls describe wat their pkg incld/exclds?

Peanut, i used to drink milk daily until an osteopath told me it was causing a lot of tummy probs. so i have not drank milk for abt 6 mths and now i m lactose intolerant. i did buy a tin of Enfamama to drink but the very first try i had diarrhea 5xs! so stopped lor...

I was taking only Folic+B6 and Hormone pills for the past weeks. Last appt, gynae said my condition ok so can start on multi, calcium & DHA fish oil.

Hui, yah loh, the moment i c the calcium pill so big & white colour, I turn pale liao. Now i thou of it makes me wanna puke liao...how? cry!

I think i really need other kind of calcium pill, must go ask my gynae.

I heard from my friend.. her package also ard 550+ that includes scan and normal pills.. im nt sure of my gynae's one.. think it should include pills and scan bah.. will check for the next visit.

ur package sounds reasonable as it includes delivery too. U shd also ask does it includes gynae attendance fees. As I mentioned, my gynae charged $1000 for attendance fees alone and that was "hidden" cost. different gynaes charge differently based on their "reputation" and i guess how good they feel they are. COz during my 1st preg, i have seen some really cheap packages which i can't believe to some super expensive packages which I think are catered for expats perhaps! so i guess the more "famous" and the kind of machines the gynae has, the more expensive they charge.

Joycelyn Wong told me the most basic package cost $688 starting from 3rd mth... tt is the consultation + normal scanning.. but i dont know if med is included.

yah mayb rice is v dry and my MIL EVERYDAY cook brown rice.. then brown rice is even dryer than white rice.. i everytime tot of going home for dinner then i no appetite liao. So sometime i tink of excuse not to go home for dinner =P

Weight Gain..I gain 8kg in my last preggie..My gal weight 3.2kg. After birth back to normal weight liao..I feel so sad cause I want to keep 5kg. This preggie so far gain 2kg.

Dreamyjo ,I am also considering a maid to help my mum out. But on the other hand scare that she is not good...n in the end give additional problem. I am also not good at dedicating work.

Peanut, 1st bb is norm to have flat tummy..heehee, 2nd preggie tummy muscle loosen so can see faster. during my 1st preggie, tummy only notice after 5mth. I was so worried. This round...I got people giving me seat liao..hahaha

u live alone with your hubby? Thats different.. me living with the ILs =( so sianz rite.. hav to make it a point to go back for dinner some days in a week or else who know they will say wat..
Now i find my own mama food nicer.. last time complain but now prefer her cooking.. esp love her spagetti yum..
 
JJmom, how abt milk? Milk has high amt of Ca... ask ur gynae if u can substitute with it.. I think my DHA pills shd be around there.. cos i paid abt $58 for Obimin and DHA.

Sumei, Lovedogs, thanks for explaining the pkgs to me.. i can't rem what my pkg actually inclds, just that delivery fees is in.. think detailed scans and meds not inclded. Scanning at every appt is inclded. Will ask if attendance fee is in.

Hui, u and me same, cannot tahan DHA pills.. *gag*

Foodwise i still prefer my mum's cooking... outside food makes me feel nauseated!

Phew !! I realised that recently, my tummy is showing though weight still the same. I saw the pics that my hubby took last sat at Kid's Loft, cannot imagine me so fat!!!

2nd time mummy, anyone of u tummy already showing? i dunno mine is due to the 2kg i put on in 1 mth or really preg leh... cham.. look fat more than preggie now. am already on the plump side.

mummies, in my previous preg, my maternity clothes are less than 5 pcs! coz i buy normal clothes just in bigger size. for eg. size 14 at topshop. not only is it cheaper than maternity clothes, i can still wear them aft giving birth and not waste money! u can try dorothy perkins and esprit too. they have big sizes. happy shopping!

Vincy, u very good, only put on 8kg on ur first preg. I think mine was x3 of urs when i deliver my boy...hahaa.. but i managed to lose all. Was happy that i can fit into my old clothes and those abit tight during prepreg one also can wear. Now I have to go thru this again... putting on weight and trying hard to lose them again... very sian. I think I shld stop at 2... no energy to go thru all these again.

Facial:
I continued with my facial when i was preg the 1st time. They stop using those machines with electric on me... as for massage, i feel its pretty much the same for mine. During the 3rd trimester, they will tilt the bed so that the upper body is higher then the lower. Cos i cannot lie flat then, cannot breathe and i heard its bad for spine too. But it is indeed a luxury lor, to be able to xiang shuo abit during preg time...

The tops are the same size as what you are wearing in SG. Thus if you are L, then buy L. Works for my sis and ex-colleagues. I am also going to buy from online. Check out their sale range, very nice also. Somemore USD exchange rate very good now. ^^

Yes, my ex-colleagues lost alot of weight by breast feeding. Some even become slimmer than their pre-pregnancy weight lay. But then hor, they very determined lor, can feed up to a year. I wonder if I will have their determination.

Today I also feed extremely nausea....very sian!
