Re: Weight
I guess gaining weight is inevitable. I also envy those slim mummies, eat as much as they want but not gaining much weight. Most of my new clothes, i also cannot fit in le after a few wears only. I also gain weight even though i also puke. I guess i take more more bites to relieve the nausea feeling. Anyway, lets all be happy and stopped thinking about the weight thing and enjoy the preggie process. After birth, lets all try our best to slim down. Kabatte!
 


Hui- no ler.. my gynae no change. His name is Dr Lawrence Ang.hmm.. i will only annouce when i reach 2nd tri. anyway, he is a guy. so he oso bochap one lor.

Alibaba - think per visit is abt 50 plus bah.. cant remember .but of course after you take up the package, they will offset frm those visit u went. U must be feeling excited & lookin foward to hear ur little one's heartbeat.

Happy - i can understd hw u feel. nvm.. after givin birth , still gt chance to wear.

jjmum2008- haha.. u knw tt day one of my male colleague oso commented " wow u put on weight huh ?? gt tummy out liao "i smile at him & siam .hehe.

Btw, my male boss goin thru menopause now!

i only tell family members & close fren & close colleague. some colleagues aready start guessing liao.. saying tat i keep falling sick.. no appetite & recently oso lazy to dress up. & look so tired. mus be pregnant! -_- but i still nv admit anytin yet. haha.. jus ignore them..
 
Hui, my gynae told me abt doing the detail scan at week 20? Is this the 1?

My gynae is saying all the tests r the norm now, like all r standard to take 1. My guess is he is too kind to point out abt my age tat is beta for me to take all the tests lah.

But I also vy KS myself, will most likely take it too.

3D scan can see eyes mouth and hand clear like bb hand issit 5 fingers or lip is normal etc.. more like a photo.

i have endure for mths nv do facial liao.. tinking to go after 1st trimester. haha... some said facial ok to do. as long no massage ... jus let the beautician know tat u're preggie.

dreamyjo, how much does your gynae charge u for the oscar? im still considering whether to go for oscar or triple test.
 
Massage.. my fav pasttime.. now my shoulder and neck is aching like hell and feel like they're rocks.. I'll rush for prenatal massage right after my 1st tri

Facial is safe but do let them know u r pregnant, so they dun use equipment emitting frequencies. Massage shd b lightly done too.

My boss and some colleagues already know abt my pregnancy... Actually no harm letting them know. My boss now tries to lessen my workload and dun expect me 2 work OT

How come around the same period EDD but my stomach still flat flat one not like the rest of u.. i keep looking sideway in front of mirror but only a small little tummy burging out.. also dunoe whether thats my bb or becos i constipate sometimes.
 
alibaba, the package is still at $550 and can off set amt from ur visits.. my first visit was a total of ard $110, so be prepared.. i will be going for mine next Monday (have to be patience waiting for e day) =P update us again k..

for now i think heck about the weight as long as the baby is growing healthily like what dreamyo says

Hi su mei, the cost is about $300 plus. I have to go home and dig out the scan details and i'll update you tomorrow. The test is recommended by the gynae so i blur blur follow her advice and book lor long time back. Cant remember now.

I'm due to do my Oscar (@12weeks) my next appt.. Dr quoted my 300+ wor. She say got cheaper test at 100+ but Oscar is more accurate and consider my age she recommend me to do that
 
And i really wan to pull my hair.. actually my company insurance cover maternity (incl all consultation fees!) if we add on the premium but i only got married 1 yr ago tot wont pregnant so fast so never cover for that.. now regret liao lor. sianz..

thanks for your info! yup there's always a crowd over at Dr ang 's clinic. my appt will be in the evening time. heard from my fren, 1st visit is pretty fast. subsequece visit have to wait liao... yup, will definately update u gals again.

Been feeling nausea everyday but appetite is getting better...and i'm getting fatter!! tummy getting quite obvious too..
 
Su Mei, confirm gng for blood test at my next appt at week 12. But if it's oscar or triple test, my gynae will talk to me again on the next appt wor.

Becos i lost abt 4kg so far, my clothes all can wear. however they all hang around me loosely lor... but my tummy is popping out so clothes do look weird on me.

Lovebugs, don't just survive on low fat yoghurt! it is inevitable we will put on wt. bb's health more impt.

Everybody is asking abt me since i have disappeared for 3 wks. I dunno wat i m gonna say when i get back man.. some how or rather, i dun wanna say i m not preggie. its like starting out with ur kid lying!

Peanut, everybody is different... some ppl say skinnier ppl dun show till the 5th mth! i m showing slightly but it might seem like gas. don't worry abt it ok?

Bear, Oh dear, do take care. How come you lost so much weight? Try to eat more nutritious food. Your bb need you to be healthy and nutritious wo.
 
Dreamyjo, i have high metabolism. so even if i gorge a lot i don't put on weight. so when i don't eat i lose wt easily... i can lose abt 2kg a wk when i m under stress and dun feel like eating.

Right now simply no appetite.. can't finish my food at all...
 
me oso lost 2kgs within a month.. but my gynae say its normal for the 1st tri cos a lot no appetite but baby will still grow despite that. but starting 2nd tri we mus really start taking in more and nuitritous food as thats the time BB starts taking in what you eat.

regards abt the lost weight 1st trim is ok lah.. u will gain in trim 2.he's coming 50 mah so tink is "gen nian qi"

u have to see how much ur Body Mass to see gain how many weight is healthy.
 
hihi, just to share.. for a normal weight Mtb, she will usually gain ard 12kg throughout the pregnancy, it's true that smaller size Mtb will gain more ard 13kg-20kg.. it's just a rough gauge though.. hope this helps =D

Thanks for the info. Gynae reccomended me triple test ($100) cos i still young.. that is 70% accurate.. if oscar ($300)..that is 97-99% accurate.. im wondering if i must be super kiasu and go for oscar.. cos if want oscar then need to inform her prior to next visit (12 weeks)..

I read in the book.. the ideal weight gain should be ~13kg for normal case.. but my friend..she put on 20kg.. but still alrite. BB healthy too.. I think as long as both mum and bb healthy then its alrite..

i tink u shd jus go with the gynae's recommendation cos they shd know best. They're normally the most play safe and 'jus in case' people so if she tinks you do not need oscar then your risk mus be really v low and so the triple test will suffice. My sis is also pregnant with her 1st child now @35yrs and due to go for "chou yang shui" next appt.. she damn scared

My sis who is also big size like me, but slightly smaller lar, she put on 20kg when she is pregnant!!! I am trying hard to control so that I will not put on so much weight like her. My family genes hor, even breath in air also will put on weight de!...Haiz...Anyways, now also no appetite, eat what, vomit what, so I am not so concern with my weight.

Re : Maternity Clothes
Thankfully, I lost some weight in the last 6 months before I am pregnant, so I can dig out those clothes that I used to wear when I was fatter. So far, the pants and tops still got abit allowance. Then my undies, I always buy those very stretchy de, so now still can wear. Think I will just buy 1 size bigger and wear it under my tummy when I am more advance in my pregnancy.

i simply can't eat lor. since young i dun have the habit of snacking so even now i find it weird to eat something in the aftn. anyway there is nothing i like to eat although i finished another tin of fruits! sugar over load!!!

U guys so fast talking abt Oscar test liao.. i need to wait for a whole mth.. sigh..

Yes, I had lunch. Summon alot of courage to try Chicken cutlet as I dont know how I will react to the food. So far still ok.....hopefully wont run to the toilet later.

I realised that I cant eat fruits now...I get major gastric problem after that! Now I am snacking on biscuits, but I really dont like to eat biscuit also lor....eating for the sake of not being hungry...very tong ku!!

Does every pregnant woman have to go for Oscar test?? My gynea havent talk to me abt all these test lay. He also havent done any blood test on me also. Weird!!

no lah not every one.. basically tink my gynae's theory is as long as u're above 30 below 35 then better to go for oscar.. 35 & above then chou yang shui liao
 
Oscar is a scan - to measure thickness of something behind the BB's neck to ascertain the risk of down's syndrome.

tsk tsk i dunoe abt ur gynae wor.. diff gynae works differently so no know what will he/she recommend u. How many month's are you liao?

I am into my 10 1/2 weeks. Gynea havent talked abt blood test or oscar. I think oscar should be compulsary for all mums bah, but chou yang shui will be for 30 and abv.

my bb is younger than yours tsk tsk.. mine is 9.5wks old. My next appt is at 12th weeks doing the oscar then oso taking blood test for HIV, Hep B etc. Mayb you shd ask ur gynae abt these tests in your nex visit.

i've been suffering from headaches these days but afraid to take panadol.. Sleep has been rather bad, mus be the cause for these headaches =(

u can take panadol. but only those normal one. cannot take those with extra.
tink headaches consist in the MS package.. i oso getting headaches too..

Thanks. Being the ks me, think I will pester my gynea to give me the blood test and the test for down syndrome. Will be seeing him this thurs, will check with him then.

I will have occasional headache as well, especially when I am feeling stress. I know how you feel, pain but try to cut down on medication. Just like, want to vomit, but dont want to take medication cause I know will affect baby....now I know mothers are very wei-da!

ur package consists of 3D & 4D? nice nice...mine too...but hor, it depends on whether bb is cooperative. During my 1st preg, my gal was not cooperative, hence, only managed to take her 3D pic like 3 times

can take panadol...i have been taking for migraine.... panadol is safe juz may not be strong enuff for the headache to go away completely. I took coffee and it helped alot with my headache. But off course, some preg woman doesn't want to take coffee at all... for me, i limit to max 1 cup a day.

oscar is not amnio test. Oscar is to test for possibility of down syndrome but it is not as accurate as amnio test. Amnio is most accurate but no point as it is painful, expensive and runs a risk of miscarriage due to the procedure. Hence, if u want to do, please choose a really experienced and reputable gynae to do it.
 
umm... actually i'm already feeling v bad cos i was taking some regular medication before i know i'm pregnant.. which means the embryo was already exposed to my med 5-6weeks since conception. Worried that it'll have some long term effect on it..
 


same here.. taking medication when im in my 8 weeks.. been feeling very bad also. So now..i try to avoid whenever possible.

One thing i hate is..smokers.. while on the way to take train or walking home..there bound to be someone smoking right infront..haix..
