Which ryokan u book?? I can't decide hehe even after all the research fr tripadvisor..some are so expensive! But I guess i shld book soon otherwise peak season...I am going 9 days, 8 nights in all. I would be staying 5 nites in Tokyo, 2 nites in Kyoto and 1 nite in Hakone. With a 2 yr old kid, I just hope we can go through it in one piece haha :p Anyway its the bonding time i m looking forward to. And all the maples leaves to see woohoo!!

Jes: No lah, coz my hb goes overseas frequently (the downside he is not ard half of the time argh...but of coz pro is he can get the miles, so I can't complain he is not ard too)

ya, pros & cons lor, but guess we oftenly wish our hubs are always around... wonder if i can get use to my hub going for reservist in oct for 3 weeks. so far the longest he's been away is usually only 1 week or so.

my offc ah, feel a lack of human sense.. unlike my ex-offc which is more cosy and "normal". mayb it's really just my prob that i can't get used to it bah.

I book Senkei ryokan, a mid-range one. There'r better ones around, but more ex or further from train station.

wonder how V will get by cos she's more attached to daddy.

My hub was complaining to me tat seems K is more attached to me. But wat to do? haha.. he works late and always go oversea or reservist.
Why ur hub ask for deferment? Got valid reason meh? For wat I know, even if wife deliver bb hor, they wun let u go de.
My hub oso tried to defer his previous one, his company wrote letter in, still tak boleh.

like me, during my last few months when not working, can see an improvement that V is getting more attached to me (though daddy is still favourite).
well, he wants to "chao keng" lor, its overseas reservist so he said very sian thus tried his luck, he wrote a letter saying that his biz will get busy during year end etc etc... but too bad they dun accept.

Reservist: My hb also got 3 weeks in Oct...zzz...think it's the 2 days stay in, 2 days book out kind, but he is looking forward to it coz it is a good break from work.

I wonder if girls are generally more attached to daddies??

yr hub's reservist sounds better, at least can book out, haha... my hub said if it's this kind then he wouldn't mind cos still can get to go home rather than stay away for whole 3 wks.
i oftenly heard too that gals are more attached to daddies and vice-versa, but guess not always true throughout.

Yah to stay away for 3 weeks is definitely a long time! But I guess good thing is that your gal will become even closer to you hehe and not overly attached to daddy?

I brought J to Sesame street and Barney concert...play gym at Kovan Hub(Newly open) and clarke quay for some mooncakes festival event..over the wkends...very fun...but tiring...

The thought of returning to work bugs me so badly recently, I had to sit myself down and work out the pros and cons. For now, with considerations for the girls, I will stay home for another 1 year. Meanwhile, I'm looking for some courses to take, to keep my mind sane.
Yep, wanna materialize my trip to Jap with aly. Also to motivate her to work hard on her studies.

actually tokyo disney v nice. my hubby went to both hk & tokyo disney & he like tokyo v much. anyway, we both like japan v much & kai can't wait to go in future.

Oh.. you cannot adjust to new workplace? Me too. Had serious culture shock and found it difficult to adjust to their mentality. Worse I can't stand being micro-managed. So I left after only 1-mth there. Now I'm back to my old workplace. Thk goodness, my boss was more then happy to take me back. Else will be really chamz.

Japan,
Wow! I love going there too! I've been to Japan 3x before get married and then again for honeymoon cos hub likes JPN. I love the food, the onsens and their super nice packaging for almost everything there. I always end up buying loads of their toiletries, hair accessories and all those japanese type of purses, pouches, knick knacks.

Yah, I guess like lian, we are also not tied down with car or maid expenses. Not yet anyway.
Sigh, but if 2nd kid comes along, dunno if can still afford a car.

Aly_nat: Hee on the contrary, I am very glad I am working coz I need the 'time away' from my kids :p Of coz work got stress but at least gives us more cash on hand to manage as well. My hb said I would surely be very grouchy if I stay at home whole day. Even with 2 kids, I hope I can still work part time!

Yah... me been to Japan many times cos last time my dad worked for a Jap MNC. Then he gotta report back every 6-mths to do presentation to board of directors, etc. So my mom and I just tagged along. From there, dad will go office whilst mom and me will go explore tokyo on our own via the city circle train. Quite fun!

Aiyohz... no changes lah. I resigned cos there was talk of them closing the SG office cos my company is actually over in Indonesia. But now, no more closure liaoz. Everything else is good here. No politics, excellent teamwork, great management. But the initial pay was on low side. Now when I joined back, they did adjust my pay. So I'm totally happy now. hahahaah.

Actually hor... if my hub earns lots of $$$, I would prefer to stay home. Especially nowadays school work is sssoo tough! Wish I am home so I can guide my gal with her homework and projects. Imagine, my eldest is only in P2 and they are currently doing fractions in Maths! *faintz* Last time when I'm in P2, still enjoying myself and playing at school siah.

glad_gal, I find google map & street view veri useful leh. hehe.. can see the 'real view' without being there physically. I was playing with it to find my way from train stn to t ryokan. Quite fun.

Yah... I also feel lucky. But then again, I was kinda underpaid previously. Now they hv only increased the pay to match with market rate. Else they scared more people will start leaving cos before my case, many others also left becos of the low pay. hahahah... cos when they convert our pay to rupiah, I'm a billionaire. They dun understand that SG living standards is higher and therefore need more $$$.

I'm all right ... Lucas ah .. doesnt really seems to enjoy gg back sch after the long weekend. And recently since he recovered and back to sch, he seems to be very tired when he returns from sch but if I give him nap at 7+pm he refuse to wake up for milk. So now I give him his night feed at 8-8.15pm then sleep at 9pm instead of 10pm.

U know, recently I have been asking myself issit a right move to put K into CC. Suddenly feel t heartache, esp when I know she will get sick often...

I also feel heartache when my hb tells mi he cried and unwilling to follow teacher into the class area or feel like crying. I wld give him 2-3mths to get used to it bah ... but realised he is quite different ... sometimes wld start to try sing song on his own though cant figure what he wans to sing ... pick up our mobile (no active line), holding the phone on his ears, babytalk and giggling away as if he is talking to someone. So cute.
