(2008/10) Oct 2008

Hi mummies!!
I decided to put my boy at playgroup near my place. Now waiting for the person-in-charge to confirm if there is seat for my preferred timing. It's a 2 hour class.

Ruffles,
Hope you have a smooth delivery. Jia You!!

Dimpletot,
I bought my karaoke DVD at Kiddy Palace. My boy loves it. I got 1 chinese and 1 Mandarin one.

Vannila,
How you give the colostrum to E? Add into milk??
There is 12% seems good deal.

Jolly,

elch,

I also not sure how this works.

Those that ordered from BP, how much shipping did u all have to pay? Is it better if we self order and split the US$4 (without tracking) or US$12 (with tracking).

sambuccol
I was also told at the organic shop at GWC that it's for kids above 3 lei.

Mummies, who's Gladys Wee? She's on many of your fb.

Lilbluey,
Is she? How do you know? I've met her in real life to collect my items from her and she's a nice lady...

I intro-ed Sambucol to Dylan 1st and switched to Nature's Way Sambucus as it's still the same elderberry extract with same effectiveness but with cheaper pricing...

Elch,

I came across somewhere in the past, hope I din remember wrongly haha..

So the one that you are giving Dylan now is from Nature's Way? oso order online?

Any other mummies would like the nap mat? Placing order tonight. Free domestic shipping for $49 up.

Jelly, if no takers, i may order a dress. Anything u like to get? There is also a small tax charge i think less than $4plus usd.

Jolly, we going with the mountbatten branch convenient regardless if we drive or take train. cos its only 2 stations away from hubs office via circle line.

busybee - I have the nap mat you're eyeing. I have the blue one with the vehicles. It's cheap but I don't recommend it. Very thin and quality not good. My son used it for about 3 months before I pulled him out of the church program he was in and then later for another half year. It didn't hold up well. I need to buy a new one for Ian for September when he starts school. They ask for nap mats like this in most preschools here for the little ones to nap on but most parents send the "plush" comfy ones. I'm still looking around for one for him.

I have the chinese songs DVDs that Purple showed a picture of. Bought it at 20% discount at Isetan last July in Singapore. Both my boys love it. What struck DH was the relatively large number of songs about being a soldier and fighting compared to DVDs of English songs.

re: iherb
i will b hapi to organise if u want me too. just let me know

busybee
i will order just the mat, thanks!

koala
thanks for the heads-up. actually, i think it will be useful for our weather here in SG

mint
keke, i still hv not paid u leh... can text me ur acct number for trf? thanks and sorry for the trouble

Jolly, forgot to add that what u see online is the US site. Prices offered here us different. Also, special discount given to Oct mummies... If u are keen, let me know la. No obligations

Jelly - Actually... the weather where I live is comparable to SG most of the time.... sometimes even hotter! I live in Houston, hot and humid except for winter... I need to go hunt for the mat again to look at it to remember what I didn't like about it. I vaguely remember that it looked like "kiamchye" metaphorically speaking after a few months of use.

Koala, thanks for the feedback. I still went ahead with the purchase as its hard to find one with pillow and blanket attachment. If u are willing to splurge I've seen some really nice ones for over usd100.

Jelly, placed order and have sent u the details.

No worries... didn't mean to pour too much cold water on the purchase. My kid only used it twice a week and there was alot of piling from the wash and it was washed on the gentle cycle. The blanket is a fleece material. There's also not alot of padding on the bottom side, the side you lie on? I must say that it is the best deal you can get with a pillow and blanket attached. The nicer ones actually run for about $60 something to $70 ish. I still haven't decided yet. I'm also thinking of getting my sister to sew one but haven't talked to her about it yet.

Koala, not at all. Its honest constructive feedback. Yeah i read abt the fabric. So it doesn't do well with washings i suppose. I probably will throw it into one of the giant laundry nets to prevent it from getting too crumply cos my washing machine has a agitator. I saw some pple selling instructions on how to sew a nap mat on etsy, i think if your sister can help you with the sewing then go for it. It can become a keepsake when he outgrows the mat!

Gd morning mummies.

Busybee:
Thanks I received the JG voucher last week.

Iherb:
I would like to share too, if we are combining orders.

hi tan leng leng is a good "spreer".

Thanks for all the info on the Sambucol and age limit.

Tweety - i add to his cereal. but u can add to milk as well.

hi mint - which Sambucol u give Regine?

iHerb,
Those that bought from BP, how much is shipping that u all have to pay? Is it better that we combine and buy ourselve since it's flat shipping charge from US to SG?

BP having 12% off. Better to get from BP?

XY,
Maybe can use what I recently paid as a gauge? It's for Nature's Way Sambucus for Kids though...
Unit Price: USD18.19
Initial Payment: USD18.19 x 0.88 x 1.4 = S$22.41
Top-up: S$4.34
Total: S$22.41 + S$4.34 = S$26.75

Worth it to buy from overseas spree?

Thanks elch for the info on the US and UK versions. Am wondering whether it's cos the formulations are different, or whether the ingredients are exactly the same, just that the guidelines in each country differ. like, whether UK is more lax than the US?

But guess it'll be hard to find out....

dimpletot,
Welcome...I think most likely the guidelines in the country is different...personally, I think no matter what is stated, be it above 2 or 3 years old, we just give slightly lesser than stated dosage if in doubt, since it's a supplement not a medication...won't be harmful as long as it's not over dosage....

dimpletot: i just bought the nature's way sambucol for children 3 days back which are for 1 YO and above. dosage is 5ml. i got this from Carrefour organic counter so if it is permitted to be sold in SG, i think it should be quite safe bah?

elch: is there no discount for that? I thought I saw something gg for 11.99 or something... that was for adult ah?

i think if worried, can always check w PD if visit the latter for vaccinations etc...these guys read alot of research papers so have an opinion on such stuff

Good morning mummies!

mousebb,
yeah! i got a wet bag too. bought it 3 years ago. good to use.

busybee: hey dear, sent you an email on the books. please check...

Playdate: shall we organise a mass one again? :D anyone has any bright ideas????

I can volunteer YPG to bring along a cake! LOL... *hint hint*

Elch,
u shipping sounds abit high. Vanilla's only paid $1.52 for shipping for 5 bottles. Hmm...

So mummies,
Wanna take the risk and we buy ourselves? Or just get from BP which is having 12% off now?

R&R mum
Initially when wenxuan started playgroup, I always let him bring those zigloc bag everyday to put his 'dirty'clothes and towel. Later i realised it is actually a waste of money cos I have to keep buying those ziploc bags and decided to get him 2 wet bags instead and I really like this idea!
