Bigtoes,
I agree that you shouldn't have to top up since this was a mistake made by SIA's staff. And actually I do think they will waive... afterall, they have a reputation to maintain!

SQ saga - ok, so resolved. They found the phone recording & agreed that the call center lady gave me the wrong information. But guess what, now I have to wait 1 mth for the infant fare refund, and still have to pay full child fare ($300 to Langkawi). No discount, nothing. That is SQ for you - have to stick to the book, even at the expense of customer satisfaction!

Flos (flos) - thanks
happy.gif
this is only in Dec, long more to go. Meanwhile, i think i have another 1/2 dozen work trips (yes, on SQ) before that..

Flos (flos)- had to cos Alex & I both had frequent flyer points expiring. I already extended some, & if don't book, would get forfeited....and of cos won't 'waste' them for work trips right
happy.gif
Dec is the quiet period at work to clear leave, so thought better just travel then.

Mamyvelle,
Sorry, already had a birthday invitation on 12 Jun, not able to join u gals. Have fun & enjoyz!

Bigtoes,
I've not booked the langkawi hotel and airticket yet. Planned to go around nov during PH tat week but everything not finalised yet as I might need to go for a op as there are some nodules in my thyroid. Hopefully no need to go for op as I'm planned to try TCM 1st.

snowyee (snowyee11) - Still plenty of time till Nov
happy.gif
Hope your thyroid case is nothing serious & won't need an op!

Mamyvelle, how was your gathering over the weekend? Any pix to share? Count me in for the next one!

cloud and twendy
thanks! is the water in the hotel clean cos i'm bringing my gal along too.

Jo, i also going in july. end of july.

Yes, water is clean. They also provide a cot if you ask for it. The cot was too short for my son so we took out the mattress and put it on the floor.

Hi Jasmine

I stay in Disneyland hotel in HK and Crowne Plaza Causeway Bay in HK island. Very near to timesquare and lotsof good eatery around !

Mid of July summer holiday starts... Tat's y we chg our trip to early July..

I heard Tat langham place is a nice htl...but exp..

Jasmine (piggy_jas) - Check out Lanson Place Hotel? That's where I typically stay when in HK. Its a European style boutique hotel, abit small, but centrally located at Causeway Bay (like 2 minutes from MTR), reasonably cheap & with good service.

Jas,

yup.. HK starts their summer holiday on 15.07 if i'm not wrong... China side oso... so i guess disneyland will b packed... esp weekend

koras (koras) - Are u off to HK too? Hopefully K gets well in time!

HK Disneyland - seems like alot of mommies & kiddos enjoyed it. My collegue just came back over the weekend & said her 2 kiddos thoroughly enjoyed Disneyland & it wasn't too packed.

Hi mummies

hihi.. brought my kids to the beach on sunday to play sand. I felt so bad, because I have never brought them to play sand before.. My son's ccc teacher told us, that my son told her, he has never been to beach and doesn't know how the sea looks like. So we brought them on Sunday.

Looking them playing happily with impromptu 'tools' - plastic spoons/cups from Coffe Bean!, I felt so touched. It actually takes so little for our kids to feel happy and I start to wonder, why do we adults lose our ability for simple joys as we grow older (and more complicated) ? Oh well...

Autum (autum) - They do indeed look like they are having tons of fun in the sun
happy.gif
And yes, it doesn't take much to make them happy!!

For Kieran, laughter is triggered by something as simple as saying a word that he thinks sounds funny! Its amazing how they can derive simple pleasures from daily stuff in life (for instance, like having my hubby draw a smiley face on his toe, after which, he happily goes round showing it off) & how that rubs onto us...one of the joys of having kids right!

Bigtoes,
Hee, I like your example of drawing the smiley on K's toes.. yes, my kids like to do silly stuff or laugh over silly sounds/words and this really makes me laugh too.

Autum (autum)- hah, yah. When you talked about simple joys, his toes came to mind. Here is a pix that hubby took - i posted it on my facebook..hehe.
He even named it "Ki ki" (cos he calls himself "sor low Ki" (i.e. Silly Kieran) when he acts all silly & Ki ki is an extension of his silliness?

Hello mummies,

Long time no see ! I have been quietly reading the thread
happy.gif
Looks like most of you are planning holidays. I brought Joshua to HK 2 years back (he was abt 2.5YO), he enjoyed Disneyland a lot but not HK city itself. I have also heard a couple of horror stories about kidnapping in HK Disneyland, so pls watch your toddlers closely.

Jonas has recently been promoted to Kor Kor status. We just welcomed the arrival of our J#3 (a bb gal this time !

) in June. So we definitely will not be thinking of going on holiday anytime soon

hi all

vic has been falling ill and getting fever every 2-3 weeks since april. he's having fever again now after recovering from hfmd just last week =(. to keep his fever in control, he has been taking quite alot of fever medicine these few months and am worried it'll be bad for him. is it common for kids around this age (21 months) to fall ill so often or is it a sign that vic has weak body constitute? can't help but worry about his health. hope he'll recover quickly and won't fall ill nearing our aug holiday trip.

Lok (lok) - Congrats on baby no 3
happy.gif
I am sure kor-kor Joshua & Jonas will take good care of their little baby sister!

tslittleone (tslittleone)- Vic is at childcare right? I think its pretty common for them to fall sick ever so often given the exposure to all the other kiddos in school. K falls sick on average every 2+ months or so too...usually with runny nose/cough. As for fever, if Vic's fever is low grade, maybe better to skip the meds? Also, paracetamol (the pink medication) should be safe, just don't give too much ibuprofen (for high fever), heard that is not recommended. Meanwhile, are u feeding him multi-vits? These should help as well. Hope he gets well soon!

Lok,
Congrats to you on arrival of baby princess. Looks like alot of mummies here having baby no. 2,3 ...while I'm still at No. 1.

tslittleone,
Yes, it's very common to to fall sick very often especially in school. Pierre's also fall sick every mth when he was in infant care. Now he is in Childcare, his immunity is much better. Guess he had build up immunity from infant care. Though he had flu very often, but he recover faster. As for multivits, Pierre's taking cod-liver oil and sambuccol.

hi bigtoes and snowyee
o...k will take note about ibuprofen coz last 2 days vic's temp kept shooting up to above 39 degree after 4-5hr so had to give him a number of doses of that to keep it down. PD did a test n confirmed he had influenza a so he's on tamiflu now =(

snowyee u r not alone, m still at no.1 too. with vic falling ill so often, my husband and i felt so overwhelmed by the tot of having a second one and we thinking of just stopping at 1.

tslittleone,
I sent 2 of my kids to childcare (and will probably send the 3rd one as well) and yes, they do fall sick often. As the PD said, think positively and take this as an opportunity to build up their immunity. The situation will definitely get better over time.

Fish oil is good for boosting immunity.

Jasmine (piggy_jas) - Yes, Kieran is still walking up, & asking for milk most nites (usually around 3am)....bad habit to break & he doesn't want water instead! I even tried diluting the milk before (thought can slowly reduce the amount of milk & increase the amt of water), but he knows the difference & would specifically ask for proper milk!

Bigtoes

My gal also same as Kieran know the differences. Normally she eats dinner with us at 7, 180ml milk (2 scoops of milk powder) at 845 cos she is gg bed soon must have milk. Bad habit too!

Recently 12am ask for milk, i scold her, she sleeps back but 2 hrs awake again to drink. sometimes twice a night, 1 at 12+am and another at 5+am. My MIL say bad habit le..

Im hoping she stop night feeding so that we can plan for no2.

Jasmine & Bigtoes - mine must have his milk feed at 8pm. even if it means a few TBSP. I've tried doing it away, but as they get bigger, its harder to bluff them. He will shake his head if its water and demands for milk.

I've also realised they seem to love their milk so much that if you give them water, they will ask for milk.

Hmm...seems like alot of the babies here have this nitetime milk drinking habit. K doesn't wake up asking for milk all nites, but pretty much 3-4 days out of 7. He has dinner at about 6pm, then 240ml (4 scoops) for his last milk feed at about 8+pm, so can't possibly still be hungry rite!

I guess its just comfort/habit....he guzzles the milk in like 5 minutes (180ml) & then says "wan liao", passes the bottle to hubby & falls asleep again almost immediately. Hopefully they will grow out of it soon (I don't mind waking up to make milk since i can go back to sleep v quickly, but hope he is not developing cavities by drinking milk in the middle of the nite).

Bigtoes
Mine every night w/o fall, unless she didnt take nap in the noon. Too tired to wake up for milk. Luckily she slps aft finishing the milk.

Breadmum
My gal is milk lover. Always ask for milk, even not 5hrs later. Sometimes aft a bowl of porridge she still can ask for milk.
