i do walk a lot. Last week i walk from city hall mrt to carrefour suntec then back also never trigger delivery.

Now in downtown east. Me surfing on hp while hubby playing in playgrd with #1.

Me now waiting for contractions to reach 5 min before going hospital. Takes quite long! Pain pain! One thing tho, sitting on the exercise ball really helps. Update again soon.

fiona... wah pei fu!!!!! my record is max 100+ ml, but that was on the day when bb in hospital and i have enough sleep. normally about 60-80 ml from both sides every 4 hourly. i water parade liao still cannot produce more

Hi ladies,

I'm back. This delivery was short but VERY tiring. Maybe its becos I've been so tired recently also.

We decided to induce since I already BTH keep geting BH n contraction but getting nowhere hubby also in reservist till after my edd. Scared he cannot pickup my call in time then I gotta settle my #1 n delivery alone meh.

Anyway here's my birth story.
10th July
Dunno why keep feeling uncomfortable cannot sleep well whole night.
11th July
10am: Went to gynea clinic strap CTG. Realised I having regular contractions at 10mins(maybe that's why cannot sleep well) but I dun really feel anything. Nurse comment if dun induce think tml also can deliver. But we still went ahead lah since already there.
11am: Insert pill. Jialat contraction like gone liao. Gynea say to admit bout 2-3pm.

Went ntuc shopping n have lunch then went home after son nap then bring him to my inlaw hse.

4-5pm: Admit strap CTG. Mild contractions nothing much.....sigh Seems like the pill dun work.
6.30pm: Gynea arrive breakwater bag contraction still nothing much 2.5cm dilated. Asked if I wanna deliver today or tml. Ofcos I want today lah who wanna wait so long in labour ward.

So put on drip. Can feel the real contractions comming in. Cannot really remember timing liao cos I BTH after awhile kept my eyes closed until gynea came.

Tried breathing method all the way cos I want to dilate n deliver faster until I can feel bb bearing down more painful so start using gas. So called for the nurse checked 5cm liao can touch bb head.
Called for gynea early cos she say 2nd bb dun want gynea to miss the delivery. Say gynea will reach in 20mins.
Then I blur all the way keep breathing the gas n bb keep bearing down. They made me lie flat think cos dun want bb to be out before gynea arrive.
Finally I hear them say doc wearing gown liao then I open my eyes change to situp position n gynea say can push liao.

Jus before 9pm baby Ember is out. Weigh 2.74kg Length 48cm.
Mummy got slight tear nia.

Feel so cheated cos last est before birth bb was 3.2kg so much diff.

When to see my gynae yesterday...for my 39 week check up..Today should be my EDD..still no action to take..Gyane said bb is doing fine inside and my water lever is good too...He was asking me to decide when to go for induction. I think probably i will go for induce on thurs afternoon or friday morning...if no action for this few days..Really kenot walk already..but still i will g to work tomolo..Last night was having hard time to sleep i htink i have mild contraction...

Tomolo will ring my gynae and ask him regarding the schedule of induction. I was thinking to delivery on 18 (fri) if possible..but hor he told me that the induction will take ard 12-24 hrs..so..i have to decide when to admit to the hospital..

Congratulation to those mummies that have pop out..

<u>2 x Baby Shower Celebrations</u>
You girls won't believe it, I'm gog to have pre-shower shower celeb, cos my hubby is going to work overseas for a 2 months ... so we'll have 1 pre-celeb on this Sat!!! and another on 2 July.

It's quite last min cos it's unplanned! My hubby is soooo upset as he'll miss baby badly. Just the thot of him going away ... I feel like crying already! How ... Sigh!

I'm now scrambling for caterer this weekend ... sian! Anyone to recommend? I've confirmed Eatzi Gourmet on 2 July already, I tried to contact them just now, but a gent said they are packed for this week, can't support!

We've bad experience with Neo Catering, they were late for 1-hour, it's quite embarrassing. I'll call them unless no choice.

Breastfeeding

My baby bite my nipple. uch Everytime, I want him to suck on my breast, I have to grind my teeth. Initially I got blocked ducts and no let down for my left breast, now the blocked ducts have cleared but supply on the left breast is dipped.

Now, with the sore nipple and frequent wake up at nite, feel want to give up breastfeeding.

How is the mommies' experience here with breastfeeding? Any babies bite with gum?

mummies,
on breastfeeding,i' mstill not very sucessful in the breastfeeding journey. in fact, the vol has decreased.. very demoralising! I try to keep to a 3 hour schedule, but very tough. Does taking fenugreek really help?

i also use the NUK teats for those glass bottles. the thing is, my husband sterilises them all at one go. then i need to use the sterilizer a few more times in the day to sterilize the breast pump. so what do i do with the sterilized teats? i don't know how to keep them (in ziploc bag? in fridge? )

Regarding the steriliser part, i'm not quite sure leh. I have 4 nuk teats. So i normally sterilise once i used all 4. I kept them in the steriliser, hoping that it'll be ok. So far ok. As for the pump, i use sterilising tablets instead. So i have a separate container to sterilse my pump and some bottles or teats. But mainly for the pump. But i feel that the 3 hrly pumping really waste a lot of water leh. Cos must wash and rinse them before and after use.

yes, you gals are absolutely right. my milk finally kicks in on day 5! but they came too fast too furious, so i have very bad engorgement now.

on top of this, my both nipples bled and cracked too. so i dare not let my baby latch on now. even though she latch on, also not able to empty my breasts, so i got to pump after every feed. now, with engorgement, i decided no more latching on, just pumping... but still unable clear the ducts. wanna to ask, how to you gals handle the blocked ducts and engorgement?

what about sore/cracked nipples? seems like i'm getting everything at the same time...

yesterday poppy had a big day. her umbilical cord fell off and she had many people coming to visit. i think it was too stressful for her so she ended up not sleeping much and crying alot in the day. we ended up giving her the anti colic med from the doc. she gave one big burp and fell into deep sleep

but it was so scary. my heart so pain when she cried so much and was so tired but couldn't sleep

about letting bb sleep on the sides, how do you do this? sounds like a good idea, but I've only seen babies sleeping on their back...would the baby tumble facedown after a while if they are put on their side? do you all swaddle your baby all the time?

For the late ones like me, now we are sitting and waiting..and reading about the pioneer mummies on breastfeeding pains, hoping to learn as much as possible.. hehe a couple of things to clarify...

1) do we wake bb up to drink when bb oversleeps? yes right?

2) engorgement: how to ease it? warm towel, massage, express some out, let bb latch then continue to pump the rest out? you know we were saying to boost supply, we need to empty all the milk so brain will think we need more right? so for engorgement does it mean we should not pump all out? but how would we know haha..

3) medela purelan: anyone using it now? juz wondering...it feels kinda sticky waxy right? my gynae told me to start applying now to prepare for baby.. but to wash it off before baby latches on in future coz it doesn't taste very nice but is safe... but hor.. thought we were not supposed to wash our nnp wiv soap...juz warm water or even a squirt of our own BM will do? how to get the waxy stuff off then?

breastfeeding:
my both nipples sore last week, but now the left one seems to be better, so i let bb latch on the left, then i pump the right. when bb oversleeps during day time, i have to be "cruel" and wake her up to drink... don't want to wait until she cries loudly due to hunger. think avent nipple cream is not bad, easy to clean off.

sterilising:
i put pump, bottles and teat in the pigeon steriliser, switch it on every 6 hours. if use anything in between the 6 hours, i would wash using baby bottle detergent and put them back into sterislier. dunno like that hygiene enough or not

taking care of baby when CL/MIL leaves after 1 month:
i also worry how i can cope with bb and housework when my MIL leaves after confinement..

updating for garfield - her little princess arrived this morning, weighing 2.845kg. congrats to garfield! yay!!!

i got no maid too. we have babysitter, but it's bring to her house every morning and bring home every evening. starting in mid-late sept. we will start when i am in last week of ML so that it will give poppy a chance to adjust. wow live in babysitter is 1.3k? so ex! i pay $600 for mine. 5 days, day time care.

sleep on side ie lying on back but face turned to side. in the nursery that's what they'll do

for the 1st week i wrapped her in nappy cloth to keep her feeling secure. now because weather is hotter and because her hands move around more (ie dangerous, she may pull nappy up to her face), i only lightly wrap around her legs.

poppy only overslept in her first 2 days at home. now she's getting up every 3 hourly on the dot. better than alarm clock, my girl!

3 - dunno what brand from guardian, waist 34-37 inches, hip 38-41 inches

based on measurements i CAN fit into these panties but somehow i just cannot pull them up! backside too big maybe

haha me too, feel like my breasts are very stressed! i scared i will be super tired when CL leaves :S no choice have to ask hubby to wake up his idea and do his share of housework. when CL leaves we will ask our part time helper that usually comes once every 2 weeks to come every weekend. we just have to prioritise i think, and do what is absolutely necessary. like washing baby's bottles and laundry.

i also wonder if it's unhygenic wrt the sterilizer cos it only stays sterilized if the cover has not been opened. but there is no way we can leave it closed for 6 hours. baby needs to eat every 3 hours. but if we think about it, heck la, last time our parents didn't even have sterilizer, we also still like that grow up ok

Same question as bluey..anyone of you care to care your experience of induce? HOw long does it take effect from insertion of the pill to the delivery? Heard that it will take ard 12-24 hrs..

THose mummies that face this problem..can try to use nipple cream like purelan or avent..both i used before..seems okie..for crack nipple, try to get the nipple shield when BF ur bb..then u won't feel so pain..bb can still suck..i got the same problme for my #1. But if you have bleeding, have to stop for 1 day or 2..just pump out the milk and discard..

This is what I learnt from another thread. Cover our breast with warm towel. Press the blocked ducts towards the aerola. You will see the milk flow out. The milk will also flow out from another side of breast. Do this before feed/pump. I did this for 3 days before direct feed to clear the blocked ducts.

My nipples are very sore. Don't know whether I should express out and let hubby feed EBM at nite. I haven't intro bottle to baby yet, I don't want bb to have nipple confusion.
