I hv a myanmar maid for 4 wks alrdy. agent tells me myanmar maids more obedient and gentle, less of attitude problem.

my maid so far so good, not perfect but manage to pick up housework, manners, etc. but true test will be how she handle baby, yet to prove herself. language is a problem, need to speak slowly and clearly to her, her pronounciation is also quite different from ours so it takes patience to understand her. if there is a communication block (just can't understand each other!), writing down instructions is effective.

that being said, lately she has had some problems with my MIL, which i m still trying to resolve.

I hear Myr christian hv a better command of english, becos higher chance they'd be educated in a christian school and exposed more to the language.

As for phil maid, what i like is that the maid will be able to converse easily with baby, and i think early exposure to language is good for baby, the more they listen the faster they learn. i'm not sure if my myr maid will be able to talk or sing to the baby LOL

hi amy, was told during the classes that the yellow dots will come out on it own after sometime.

My gal has yellow dots and red pimples during the 1st mth. they eventually subside after sometime. So no need to worry. remember dun try to squeeze them.

hi mummies, just back from my checkup. Need advices from mummies who went for c-sect. Gynae said my cervix still 1cm dilated for the past 2 weeks. So he guess BB sill won't be coming out this week, and he suggested induce or c-sect as my EDD is this sun.

I thought for a while, most probably will be going for c-sect, coz don't wish to wait after induce, and gynae also said my success rate is 60%. Afraid that induce may fail after 20hrs then need to go emergency c-sect.. double pain!

Wanted to know more about c-sect:
1) What's the different between epidural & spinal?
2) Can i BF after c-sect? Need to wait how long then can BF?
3) Can walk about after that?

Hope mummies can advice me! Thanks!

hi adel, me too, due this sun but gynae said BB won't be out by then, so got to induce or c-sect. I also wanted a natural birth but as long as BB is fine and healthy, don't mind undergo c-sect. =)

Wanted to know more about c-sect:
1) What's the different between epidural & spinal?
Think epidural & spinal the same, csec only epidural & GA. Epidural, u get to be awake during the delivery & can hold bb straight away and recovery faster than GA. GA, u will be sleeping during delivery and takes abt 2 hrs to be awake and ok. I used GA.
2) Can i BF after c-sect? Need to wait how long then can BF?
U can bf after csec as the painkiller given by hospital is bf friendly. For me, i bf at 5hrs after delivery and lactation consultant will help u bf bb.
3) Can walk about after that? They will want u to be out of bed to walk ard on 2nd day. Painkiller to be given after csec will be via buttock and oral. I only take the compulsory buttock painkiller for 2 days, oral painkiller took once on 1st day only. 2nd day onwards, never take bt can only move abt slowly. U may find getting up from bed a little difficult for 1st 2 weeks and pee/poo may be discomfort.

re : i had to give out the cakes to my elders' place. Most of them dun come for the buffet. I order those i can remember +10 boxes more. Sure enuff, there are ppl we forgotten.. ha haha .. 1-2 boxes i gave to my neighbours.

joelle actually its those normal clinic. Its Changs Clinic. in the clinic there is one pd Mrs chang. she was my hubby pd too. very experienced and i heard that she very gentle too.

amy my boy oso have the spots. according to cl cos he is heaty n hot. so have it. but even after sleeping in aircon room he still has it. donno when then will go away.

Tsukushi i intend to give out the tart combo from melrose during the full month buffet. the tart combo got red egg, ang gu kwey, glutinous rice n tart. so will be ordering the exact no of ppl who rsvp. have email melrose some queries last week and till todae still no reply. if by this sat still no reply from them i will order the combo set from choz instead.

hi sorry din manage to come in earlier as baby byron is super cranky today. Been crying every hour even though i fed him. Maybe its coz of the chocolates i ate hee.

RE: Chilli Padi. I ordered them for my wedding last year. Got fave reviews from my relatives. Coz my family like spicy stuff so they enjoyed the food very much. I esp like the mee siam and kueh pie ti!

I use pampers at night too, think its more absorbent and comfortable for the baby.

I haven't registered for my baby bonus yet too!!!! Then again coz i haven registered my baby's name! headache!! my dad and FIL both dun like the chinese name we selected so must go seek more opinions

Rain - try to take more fluid to increase flow. There is a receipe for green papaya + fish bone to increase the milk flow.
I pump for abt 30mins each time, mine is single pump so switch sides to pump. Try massaging ur breast before each pump.
My 1st pump was also 40ml for both sides only after like 4-5 days then increase to 100ml. Now my 1st pump early morning is 150ml and subq ones is abt 50-70ml per pump at 3-4hrs interval.

I used mamy pokos at night, so far no leakage. Before that i used pamper NB, quite good also. Actually prefer pampers cos its less thick/ bulky and can also absorb quite well.

bcos when i gv my boy breast.. he keep on crying for milk every 1 hour.. i suspect i might not hv enough for him tats why i try to pump out for him now to make sure he gets the amt he wants.. i dun wan to supplement with FM. I hope to gv him as much BM as possible now

Hi Rain,

Not easy bf and pumping. I am quite tired by the frequent feeds my girl wants. Think u can also pump to stimulate the breasts so that the ss would increase. Now i think i am facing blocked duct on my rt. Sign

My girl seems cranky nowadays on bf, think she likes bottle feed alreadi as she can drink fast w/o much effort.

U can also put papaya into your red date longan tea as well. It would boost the supply. my mum tried that n it works. So on alternate days, she wd prepare that for me.

Think i pump like 10 mins on each side if i am not bf and get abt 60 to 100ml max. If i latch and pump, think no milk. But the mumsfairy person said , we can stimulate our breasts after latching to increase multiple letdown. I have not tried that as i scared of engorgement. Now when my girls drinks every hr to 2 hr and stop to drink every 3 to 4 hr, think my breast will get engorgement soon. Timing all quite sala.

I read in the book that morning pump has the most milk. U can try that too. Everytime u forsee u r going to bf, drink a warm drink, like milo 15 to 30mins earlier and it would help a bit and drink more fluid after bf to prepare for the next one. I believe that either bb is having growth spurts every few days/weeks or that we do not have enough supply to keep up with their dd. I am also facing the same prob on some days.

Last nite, i drank a bit of alcohol for bu, then who knows she wake up less than 2 hrs to feed. Then in another hr, she wakes up again to feed. After that feed, she slept for 4 to 5 hrs, think she is drowsy from the alcohol. So this morning, i pump abt 70ml to store in fridge in case my mum wants me to drink tonic again tonite. This is to standby.

So tiring to bf. I even slept in the morning yesterday w/o realising that she was crying loudly in another room until my mum brought her to me. I woke up upon smelling her scent. Faintz. I wonder how t cope when i take her back to kl and do everything by myself. Now i am only sleeping and feeding her exclusively and find it so tiring.

maybe you can try applying some bm on your bb's pimples. My bb's pimples seem to clear up though new ones keep appearing.

BF: can i still BF my bb if im taking cough syrup?
i have stop BF for few days. coz down with flu and cough. been taking cough mixture for few days. now pumping out to keep my flow going. i got no support from my hubby as he said scare not enough for bb. so he give her FM

im so sad abt his comment!!! i intend to latch her on again after am better.

for jaundice, normally we sunbathe bb for 10mins front and back, morning and evening. Then make sure bb poo/pee frequently to flush out the bilirubin toxic. If too serious then need to go hospital. what kind of exam are you going for?
