gervynne, before i saw ur reply, i wanted to say that shevon looks like my summer! haha! i think all babies look alike !

cheesycake, express out if you cant latch. Takes time. Now my girl can latch on. But caused a wounded nipple instead ! now dare not pump or latch on that side. Called tmc lactation hotline, they have advised to apply cream and BM and air the breast. You take care k, dont be too stressed up.

Cheesycake: Yes, I do pump out coz if not will get engorgement. However, pump's suction is never as gd as bb's suction. I still tried hard everyday to latch him and finally got him on by 4th wk. I managed to partial bf him till 6 mths coz milk supply can't meet his demand, he is quite big capacity! Practice makes perfect... so just try and meantime pump out, dun freak ok.

Hi ladies, am back from my gynae. He did a VE and apparently i am 2 cm dilated already. So will be admitted tomorrow evening to induce and hopefully baby will be good and be out by Thursday! Having alot of mixed feelings now as baby is really coming out!

Calamari: Ha happy to have another mummy having a giant baby like me, I am sure your girl will come out soon!

cheesycake: Don't be sad ok? I have friends who give expressed breast milk to their babies because their babies unable to latch on. And they have been doing that for more than 6 months. Persevere or buy a good pump like Medela Advanced PIS to assist you. Take care and be strong k?

Hi Hi,
I have popped on Sunday, 30 April induced 18 days earlier. baby 9cm. 3105g.

1230 doc broke water bag (cervix 1-2 c dilated)
1620 drip start (2 cm dilate. contraction started almost immediately, at 2minutes interval.
1645 epi start (the jab is quiteed painful but took effect almost immeidately too. lower half of body turned numb)
1830 cervix 6-7 cm dilated.
1900 gynae came. asked me any nice number i like for the birth time. I joked 1919.
1919 baby out.

cheesycake, jia you. Understand is nt easy 2 BF, try 2 get some help from consultant if really cannot. Dun get 2 stressed up as will affected the milk flow.

Kea, try 2 speak to ur hubby to destressed & try nt 2 cry so much cos bb will knows u r upset oso. This is another learning phase for us as a mummy. Ya like wat other mummies has suggested u can consider engaging part-time help if really can't cope.

Mummies must remember u r always great/wei da cos is nt easy 2 give birth 2 ur little ones.

littleprincess : me using myBreast's friend. Yeah.. it really make a difference to BFing. Cos' you can rest the bb on the pillow .. and drink more and she is more comfortable. My bb used to choke on the bm because.. i moves.

BTW, the bb can sense the diff btw the NUK teats and the normal teats. My bb will reject the normal teats for a while when my mother feed her with the the stored milk.

KEA : Take it easy. Baby will feel your feeling esp when you are bf-ing. stay cool. When i cry, my bb will be restless for the whole night after feed.**me very stress by the bp** The more upset you are , the more upset bb will you have.

thanks all for the encourage... i will still latch her on. meanwhile giving her express BM. so far her in take has increased from 20 to 30ml. her face rounder abit... my sleeping pattern has changed. every 2hr wakeup express milk out for her.

my doc dun encourage ppl to keep the placenta because the is risk of contamination. juniorRain, you got to make sure you have a reliable person to convert it into capsules.

My gynae din even mention abt placenta to me but i heard abt them and i think there is a company doing it for a fee. For those taking them, let us know how good they are.

My shen huang tang herbs are packed by the medical hall people. I came to learn abt the usefulness through the confinement website and double check with my Eu Yang San doc abt the use of the herbs. I believe it will help mummies.

I also use bf support pillow from Babysafe. Need to use esp for c-sec mummies. It is good for 1st time mummies.

Is Constance drinking EBM using nuk teats and drinking direct from u? Does she know how to differentiate between the drinking. Am thinking of feeding her EBM via spoon once her growth spurt starts. May try to use nuk teats to feed her EBM and hopefully she dun get confused.

Does anyone know what the difference between thawing frozen EBM and warming it up. I put my EBM in the freezer and wonder how to go abt warming it up to what temperature and thawing at what temperature. Can 2nd time mummies advise?

was supposed to visit gynae on sat morning. we got all prepared in case need to hospitalise etc after the visit, just before going to bed. 2hrs after sleeping, I woke up from sharp pains, like tummy ache. soon, felt water leaking. felt a bit worried and got up, then realized was having bloody show. hb woke up and we rushed to hosp. reached at 3am n delivered b4 8am. gynae said maybe bb too active n burst the bag.

cheesycake... i know it's easier said than done. But don't be stressed fo not latching baby, Giving EBM is just as good. You can still get to bond with baby in other ways. I falied to latch my #1. But i gave EBM for her for at least 6 months. It is a vicious cycle, the higher our expectation, more stressed and anxious we get, the more difficult to latch and let-down.

A few of my friends has to suplement with formula for the first few weeks. But after that their BM supply is more than enough for at least 6 months.
