me still working! but i'm thiking to take 1 week earlier of my ML ahead of delivery date. cuz feel lazy coming to office la haha.

artemis - orange is cooling? can eat orange to substitute coconut water or not? heard from frien that coconuts from thailand all kena injected with dunno what kinds of chemicals one.. so it's not good, aiks.

i agree with you, it would be nice if we can enjoy our pregnancy at home. If there's an understanding boss its still alright. But with a trying to be funny boss, its nightmare!!! when is ur EDD?

regarding the herbs... i dun know their names in english... cos i went with my mother... she just tell the staff at hock hua... take n take... then i pay.. the killer is cordy... something... winter worm ;p...i only left the pearl powder haven buy....

ya cant drink water... got to drink red dates with somethind else... i think u go med hall n tell them u need mi zao... they will show u...
 
me trying to hang on till the day i give birth then start my ML. sometimes wonder when will pop cos i see my colleagues, alot like earlier by a month... so fast. how early are u all expecting your baby to be due? i hope my baby will pop during week 38 or 39....

tongtong, is that coconut thing real or just a myth. someone else mentioned in this thread that the thai coconuts are no good right? but it's so sweet and so nice... i jus had one few days ago. very happy cos so many months never drink coconut liao!

dor, i think i very cham la, no one to help me. my mum is the very modern kind who doesn't know anything! then my MIL supposed to be the traditional kind, but she also like quite chin chye so she dunno much too. my MIL is doing my confinement so no CL to teach me anything too. probably have to find one of my aunts or wad...
 
cheryl, i juz hear various kind ppl say various things then try to remember as much as i can. but still at quite a lost as to what to buy exactly and my MIL also nv mention anything.

who is doing yr confinement for you?

haha cheryl, that is my wish lor. then i can tell my baby that he was famous when he was born. haha. but then the camera will take my ugly, weak and pale look. so paiseh.

keke, my EDD is 4 feb. i hope to pop before CNY.
if it is first year of your marriage i think no need to prepare angpows. otherwise better prepare in case relatives visit.

my mother/mil will be doing my confinement... but their doing prob only just cooking... n bathe bb... i think the soiled nappy cloth will wait til hb come home then wash... so i will do nothing...

I am not too sure. But i heard from my colleagues first year is don't have to give anybaos one. actually still can receive for 1 last time. But maybe if you want can give your nieces or nephews lor.

ang pows - yes i heard first yr no need to give and still can collect ang pows. last cny I was married but not traditionally so still collect ang pows. now i am officially traditionally married so not sure if nx yr is considered my 2nd yr or 1st yr. but i guess i will prepare ang pows to give out la. otherwise like very niao. and if ppl still wan to give me i'll gladly accept. haha.

it's called 'Da Feng Cao' or 'Da Feng Ai'.
cheaper to buy in Malaysia.
I bought 40 packets (plan to bath everyday and wash hair alternate days :p). it's about RM 1.20 (< SGD 0.55) per packet. cheap cheap nia..

Confinement Marketing
For ladies who are hiring/have hired CL, how do u handle the marketing issue? how to give her the money to go marketing? or ask family member to go marketing?

now my hubby is the main cook lor. then my mum will help also but she is working. Though i stay with my in-laws, i think i will not be accustom to their food. So its better they leave me alone.. heehee...

can the Da Fong Cao be used to wash hair? or we need to prepare another type of herbs to boil for hair washing?

my CL ask me to buy 10..looks like she dun plan to let me bathe everyday...but at least can bathe in very glad already.

yes i've booked a CL...but have heard stories of CL not turning up eventually...so fingers crossed!further more if i deliever early will be CNY baby, my CL sure dun want to come until 3rd or 4th day, if at all. in that case will be my MIL and myself already lor.

i suppose it can be used to wash hair too. just afraid that it may make the hair very stiff/dry.
but i don't care whether stiff or dry, as long as not oily i very happy already.
after confinement then go saloon to salvage the hair loh.. haha...

can be done... u can choose to cater confinement food form those catering company... i think abt $1.3k for lunch n dinner for one month...
then hb can do all the washing...

Mizao (蜜棗) is honey date, much bigger than black and red dates.

Tong Tong: Better eat coconut than orange. Cos eating too much orange we and bb will have phelgm. That time when I was in my mum tummy, she ate orange almost everyday. In the end when I pop out I throw up milk more than drinking milk.
Best to choose Malaysia coconut cos think dun have genetic change done on the coconut ah.

the packaging for the herb wasted a lot of space. i discarded the paper packaging, squeeze 40 packets into 1 big plastic bag.
easy to bring in if got car. otherwise, very bulky. custom check no problem.

the bath herb has a strong smell leh.. even when using it to bath, i oredi cant stand the smell..
i first washed hair abt 5 or 7 days after delivery, using tap water turning heater to maximum..
feel so shiok after the hair wash..
my mum keep nagging but she v nice, close 2 eyes &amp; let me bath &amp; wash hair.. haha..
 
piglettail, dun worry. Things will turn out fine. you staying with your in laws too? just have a back up plan and you won't panick. wish you all the best!!... and myself too!!..

super ex!!! my mum used to buy for me - 100 pills for $150. now one year later it is 100 pills for $350. talk about inflation *FAINT* but ah, it's really good for bu3 qi4 so worth investing

no i dun think i'll be getting the da feng cao so soon, perhaps in Jan? cos my kitchen super crowded...plus i wanna buy all the red dates,black dates, etc together with da feng cao at one shot..so must clear space in kitchen first. (thought of spring cleaning kitchen i wanna faint liao!)

thanks for the info on da feng cao, xiao yun! yeah during conefinement as long as i get to bath n wash hair a bit im very happy already...nvm after confinement then go salon cut/rebond/treatment for hair, hehe..
