I can understand how you are feeling.. me also just waiting but everyday still feels like normal. No signs at all. So I just try to relax lor.. if baby wanna come out, he will come out, we think so much also no use. But it is just the sian feeling

My boy is also not big. I donno if walking helps to deliver earlier but I sure did quite a lot of walking already but no signs also leh. Don’t worry about the cervix check. I did mine last week (end of 37 weeks) and baby not engaged, ZERO dilation. Why did the nurse ask whether you want to c-sect?

Feeling confused, edd is on 19 Jan but still no sign of popping. Have made an appt for induction on 18 Jan but really not sure if I am making the right decision.
Doc said that still have a lot of fluid and baby is not too big so I can still try to wait a week before deciding to induce.
But I am getting impatient after waiting for so long. Really not sure if I should wait till I reach 41 weeks before inducing at least give bb one more week to decide on his bday.

I can understand your dilenma even though my due date is later than you (27 Jan). All along, I had decided that if by due date baby still don't come out, I will request for doctor to induce me coz I do not want to drag into CNY..
However, the other side of the story is.. since there are no complications (eg. water level drop, cord entangled etc), then why don't just wait and let the baby come out on it's own?
So I also donno.. maybe I will wait till my due date comes and see how I feel (both physically and mentally) before deciding.

I was actually on standby since xmas because I went into preterm labour @ 26 weeks. Ya, its really funny how I was @ risk of have a premature baby .... to now being overdue.

Apply the cold cabbage like what some mummies said. But remember not to apply too frequently as it will cause drop in milk supply.
The lumps do come back very fast. Either latch on or express every 3 hourly to relieve the engorgment. It will go away in a few days but must massage the lumps.

I think this kind of thing is up to your own personal preference. Since your edd is 19 Jan and you intend to induce on 18 jan and your gynae is ok with it, then just go ahead. I have a friend who prefers baby to come out naturally.. so in the end she waited and waited.. 9 days overdue then baby come out. If me, I know I surely won't have the patience to keep waiting.

MomMe, really I think it's a personal choice. However, allowing nature to take its course unless otherwise necessary might be better coz bb will come out when he's ready. My no.1 was born 40wks 5 days old when we thought she dun wan to come out. Good thing is no jaundice, more alert and really alot more expressive. Juz my 2 cents worth.

welcome to Jan 08 thread! I also did c-section cos baby is breech. It's my #1 and was naturally disappointed i cudnt go for natural but all's well now cos bb is safe. Is this your 1st baby too? Generally speaking, post natal massages can be done 2weeks after delivery if there's no complications on your wound, some people will go for 3 weeks.

Advise needed from mummies who have popped
1. Waterbag burst while working
Hi mummies who are still working, did you take any "precautions" in case waterbag burst while you are in office? My colleagues was telling me must bring extra towels put in office? What are the things your prepared? And would towels help? I cannot imagine the awkwardness.. where to put the towels and what if the water keeps dripping when you walk?
2. Labor contractions
Some mummies experienced 1st stage labor contractions with no pain. How exactly does contractions feel like? Is it hardening of the whole tummy?? I asked my gynae he said will feel v tight tummy.. he said I will know when I experience it. But the fact that I have not experienced it, how would I know if it is contractions instead of the other braxton hicks??
Hope that someone can enlighten me..

I will be delivering @ TMC. Made appt for induction @ 9.30. But doc said tablets will take sometime before it takes effect so prob only admitted in afternoon. How about you? We just might be in the labour ward together. Haha.
When I saw my doc yesterday, she actually tried to irritate my cervix. Really quite uncomfortable and bleeding a bit now. Hopefully it somehow will put me into natural labour.

from my experience, my waterbag burst when i am in the car. lucky, i prepared a towel in advance to place in my car. so i use the towel to soak the water, and quickly go home. it helps abit but the water flows down very fast. in fact, i was running home the moment i reached my house carpark. the water will still come out non stop and i actually soak up 3 towels by the time i reach the hospital.
So, my advice is to bring along a thick towel with u in case yr waterbag burst.

are you the petite type? not to "pour cold water", maybe it's better to go for c-sec rather than induction and end up c-sect. your #1 and #2 scanerios are so like mine. for #2, i wanna try natural, go for induction, dilate till 9.5 cm and dr ong say will not progress, end up emerg c-sect and my hospital bill was like $7k in 2-bedder.

Also, for bb one month cakes.. any good and popular shops with reasonanble pricings to recommened me? I intend to order a few boxes for family, friends and colleagues? Any gd choices? For caterer, I will just have a simple meal.. just get maid, or parents to whip up simple dishes.. yep

ya, thot, why not try natural since bb estimated was 3.5kg at tat time. mine 1st one was 4.2kg, dilate till 7 cm and stopped. this time round, bb smaller, thot chances will be high, dilate till 9.5cm but still end up c-sec, abit sian.. my labour was super long man.. admit abt 2am on 7 Jan and only deliver at 1215 am on 8 Jan. (abt 23 hrs!!!)
i oso dunno how come so much, probably it's the things i used in delivery suite + c sec charges. Dr Ong alone charges is abt $2.4k. after deducting medisvae, had to fork out abt $3.4k cash. btw, i am staying at Mt A.

Mums who delivered at TMC. When you park the car in their car park, do they give free parking when you deliver there? I was thinking if drive and park for so many days, wont the parking fees be very high, especially when hubbie may leave and go home to take things and stuff. Do they give complimentary?

Tho I havent delivered, I was warded there before. From what I know, they will give 2 carpark passes where u only need to pay $2 per ticket - regardless of how many hours you park. So we ended up parking for few days without exiting carpark.p
Stayed for 5 days and they only gave 2 tickets. I presume delivery also same.
