i also just received news that one of my colleague has given birth today. Also supposed to be due in Dec.

U r not alone. I'm also not engaging the malay lady for massage as hubby is also not comfortable with the idea. Also partly becos we have a dog at home.
Btw, u hv confirmed on yr confinement caterer?

Are there any one of you who would like to share to order the Nepia NB diapers? Thinking of getting 1 or 2 to try out first before ordering 4. Can't find it in supermarkets.

higgledy, haaa, yea, when they want to see e world early, there's no stopping them. but dun worry, u'll get to see ur boy soon. =)

etelle, he went in with me for e 1st time as well but perhaps tt time he din really 'see' e gynae 'dig' e baby out. he was more by my side, chanting. haaa.. this time round, he was late n hence he managed to get a full view of things. quite an eye OPENER for him i must say. haa..

Congrats!!!

that day we were still talking abt contractions and now we popped already!

my birth story :

11 nov 4am
admitted to hospital for contractions and was 3 cm dilated. was in the labour ward for 3 days, on salbutamol drip, endealac pills and patch to stop the contractions coz bb only 33 wks+.

14 nov 6am
gynae took me off the drip coz i cldn't take the side effects of the drug. sent to normal ward to monitor and continue oral med and patch.

5pm - contractions came 1 in 5 mins but not intense
6pm - saw blood when peeing, asked to be sent to labour ward
7pm - finally got an empty delivery suite (hospital fully packed that day!!)
7.45pm - machines strapped on and check done.. was 9cm dilated and water bag bulging, was told that i had to wait till my water bag ruptures by itself before i can deliver coz mine was preterm labour.. pure agony.. can't push and have to wait for water bag to burst. in the end i talked to bb and asked him to help mummy by breaking the membrane.. and my water bag started to leak after a couple of mins!
9pm - gynae then came and delivered bb

OMG, I think for me all newborn looks the same... =P

You know I cannot even recognise my own son when outside the nursery. I was pointing to a wrong child and my mama said,"No lah, that one not your son lah... ngoh, that is yours!" Hahaha... The differences are skin tone and the amount of hair...

to those whose confinement would b done by either their mum o MIL... heard from one of my gf we r suppose to give 3 red packets. 1st packet n 2nd packet can b given together n the last packet to b given after the confinment finishes... y gotto give 3 packets ah?

Hi missylan, can you kindly update my details at No.30. Baby Wynn is 3.06 kg / 49 cm, he is borned natural with epidural.

Me give birth already, morning of 15 Nov, just discharged with baby yesterday...

The process is more or less the same except the hours is a bit shorter. Induced at 4pm, first tablet, then do nothing in the labour room until 10pm when the gynae came and inserted the second tablet. Then epidural at 11pm. Cervix still 1cm dilated. Check again at 2am, 2 cm. Check again at 3am, 3 cm. Then I think die lah, like this dunno when then 10 cm.

But the weird thing happened, I heard a "pop" sound, then water gushed out, after that, I felt so painful. I thought KL epidural so lousy, can fell pain one, wasted money like that. So I called the nurse. She checked and my water bag already burst. I asked her to increase the epidural dosage. She did. At 4:20am, still painful, I asked her if she did her job, she called the doctor and they direct insert the full dosage to my spinal. At this point, a little voice told me, he wants to come out before 6am... very weird but its true that I heard him...

5am, I called the nurse again and going to tell her off. She checked my cervix and she was shocked, 9cm already! Baby also down. 5:20am, checked again, fully dilated and baby pushing down. At this time, gynae arrived and they started the pushing process, like Edie's, I too tired and can't really pushed with the epidural, so I told them to go ahead with the vaccumm. Even so, baby also can't come out, so in the end, I got cut... Baby's out slightly before 6am.

In KL, we only need to stay in hospital for one night, some even don't. Me and baby got discharged the day after. The bill came to about RM4900 for everything (I stayed in a single room).

for those who are buying Nepia diapers thru the supplier, just order 4 packs of NB, you can always exchange the unopened packs for bigger sized when you re-order from them again.

Think I better get my stuff done by next week. Very keng cheong to see everyone popping now!!

i am getting excited as well...luckily, i managed to clean up the nursery and pack hosp bag yest...so now need only to wait for the D-day....dun really wan my bb to come out that fast though.......at least after 37 weeks lor

Hi MTBs!

I've spoken with the nurse at the delivery ward later while they wheel me down to breast feed my baby (I don't have a room until 2pm that day, so baby stay in downstairs nursery while I stayed in the delivery room upstairs). She told me that I was lucky that I don't need the drip for contractions, another patient with the same gynae do and even so, her induction failed and was later c-sect. Thus my gynae was a bit late when attending to me...

actually u shd rest as much as u can now.. even though my bb is still in hospital, i have to start the cowing routine again, engorgement, pump milk (abit difficult when there's no bb to latch on).. starting to feel tired liao.. and my #1 is turning clingy...

Visited my gynae yesterday, bb am now 3.5kg at 35 weeks. He also mentioned that my cervix has already dilated 1cm, so it might be eariler then my due date.

I asked him abt the diarrhoea thing and he said it might be due to something I eat..Erm...but I dun recall eating anything "dirty" leh..

My gynae told me to stop the medication after i complained to him i have headache and fatigue after taking it. He told me to bedrest first and monitor if i have any more contractions. How long have you been taking the med? Do you still feel the contractions??

Constance, i need to be on that med for 2 weeks starting from last fri but i going to see my gynae next wed, so will ask if i shld stop the med. Anyway i don't get headache everytime i take that med, so gynae say i can still continue.

me havent pack hospital bag yet....

btw, when do u all mummies start sterilizing the bottles and pump? Do we wash now first den wen bb is out, get hubby to wash and sterilize again....

Have not even set up nursery.....

a must-bring to the hospital - DISPOSABLE PANTIES

yea, also for those who are super anal abt cleanliness, bring extra maternity pads. my hospital unfortunately ain't that 'generous' wif their pads n yea, i keep changing e pads each time i pee. it's a bloody sight i assure u. YUCKS.

for those who are experiencing contractions, do see ur gynae esp if they are accompanied wif pain, even if they aren't at regular intervals. i regret not seeing e doc earlier, if not i wld hv been adviced if i was indeed dilating already.

btw,

understand tat we shd not let bbs slp on their back, instead let them slp on their tummies and tilt their face to the sides...

is it true?? if it is, this position is best till wat months? coz i believe wen they are unable to turn their heads in the intial months, there wont be a risk of them turning their face dwnwards...wat if they grow older and can turn their heads, letting them sleep in this position will risk them suffocating themselves when they turn their faces dwnwards???

all along i tot of using normal pads for night use....didnt tot of using maternity pads...
any mummies aso like me using normal pads but for night use instead of maternity pads?

I dun think the PDs will recommend letting bbies sleep on their tummies now. In the past, pple used to do that, but now the belief is letting bbies sleep on their back will reduce cot death and suffocation.
