(2007/11) November MTBs

Childcare - I will send Ash to playgroup or half day childcare when he turns 2 years old....still have not done any homework yet though.....

Next Gathering - Would love to join you ladies, lets see how it goes...

Poissons - Thanks for looking out for me...heeheehee.... hows G? Lets do another playdate one of these weekends? Has he started his SM? How do you find it??

ASHM, MS is good.. Based on a doc fren, MS is an indication of your hormones reacting to the baby's development... The more horrible the MS is, the healthier the baby will be... Ie the baby will not fall sick that easily in the 1st yr of life after birth.

U know sometime, I was talking to the principal of a Buddhist CC. She was so frank with me and now i know y that CC was highly recommended by my neighbours.

She told me that if i m looking for a CC that teaches them alot of academic stuff for toddlers like Claire's age. I will be disappointed coz her approach is she just wan them to come to the cente to play & be happy and not stressed them! She also told me that she can be very strict with the children there...

Whereas the Kinderland CC kept on emphasizing all the speech & drama thingy to me... That literally freaked me out!

ASHM,
welcome back! thot where u have gone to
happy.gif
did u bring along ash to the trip?

G is good, we juz brought him for another haircut yday, aiyo, mistake, it was his naptime so felt irritated and cried during the entire process, so embarrassing..sigh. He is only starting his SM on 4 Apr..will update u after the class.

grace u can do online chk in mah so better d that or call up agent and let them know...u wanna pray thet athe flst not full so u guys no need to sandwiched in between others

hey that buddhist cc got other branches??:its a t bedok ????would love to send hayley to those but seems like its so diff to find...unless christian ones
happy.gif

k@ye, hahaha thats the exact 'consolations' I received when i was preggy both times! the 2nd time with Mischa was a few times worse than my 1st preg.

ASHM, hang in there. try to find remedies that work for u n stick to them. For me, muching on dry biscuits ,sucking on mints n seeping Jap green tea n ginger tea worked for me. Good luck!

weishy, u are one lucky girl...

Thanks K@ye, MM, Poissons and Weishy!

MM - I have been taking ginger tea but i was afraid that it might be too heaty and i stopped for a few days when we were away.... will start again this evening.... thanks for the heads up!

Poissons - Yes we brought Ash and the nanny along...it was good fun but tiring. Ash just slept in the car most of the time....

I brought Ash to Suntec (Toys r Us level) to cut his hair the last time and the guy was good with kids. He knows how to talk to them, distract them and even play along with them....Maybe you can try there the next time but not during G's nap time

mummies (who r sending ur kids to CC),
- i think it's better not to "publicise" which CC ur kid is going. u never know if there are "stalkers" in this thread. what if someone goes to your CC to "pick" up ur kid? i may be paranoid but it's always better to be safe than sorry...
- it's v common for kids to fall sick frequently in CC. so do prepare some "first-aids". IMO, thermometer, panadol, fever pad, cherry rub are a must. thinking of getting flumcil for J also.

my questions for CC
1. Teacher/child ratio tat tis CC follow - MCYS guideline is 1:8
2. Current no of teachers & children - personally i wun like to enroll J in a big class, even higher chance of him falling sick.
3. Max capacity of children in the class - J's class used to have only 10 kids, then it ballooned to 16! there are more teachers but quality has dropped.
4. wat is done to maintain hygiene
5. Daily activities
6. mtd of teaching

ASHM, if u happen to go to Forum shopping mall, there is a salon pretty good with kids too - Fantastic Sams. And they really cut boy's hair style really well. However, they are not solely doing haircut for kids, i see alot of expats family there too
I used to bring my son there when he was younger
happy.gif
Jus FYI

ASHM: Welcome back girl! Glad you had a good trip. =)

PDS mummies: I think after all is said and done. And after comparing so many classes, PDS was a rather good experience for us all. Anyhow, good news is that I heard that I read that they are starting a bilingual playgroup so I've started the inquiry process to find out more about the proposed schedule and pricing. Will let you know more once they revert. =P

ASHM,
i brought G to the suntec one when he was 6mths, no problem, 2nd time was the QB salon, also no problem, then yday brought him to the one at vivo toys r us, he cried buckets..aiyo..one angmoh even told us that "it gets better each time"...haha..

Catherine,
thanks for highlighting, i didn't even think of that (stalkers in the forum)!

Michviv,
Most likely will bring G to my MIL's cc, then find a more decent nursery for him when the time comes. At least I know he's in good hands and i only need to pay $100+.

catherine:ever happen b4????????stalker??????

ASHM:do they cut for girls?????hayley needs a haircut badly kakkakaka how much do they charge???

michviv:will be interested with PDS!!!! let us know soon
happy.gif

me like PDS so far
happy.gif

Weishy, i will pm u the Buddhist CC then!
happy.gif

Talking abt haircut, i really gave up! We bought Claire to shave her head when she was 3 mths old, she was blur blur, cried when almost to finish!

Then later on, everytime bought her to trim the head... Sure cried buckets even before they started.. Got only one time, the lady only used scissors to trim.. She never cried... So we all tot, she was freaked out by the sound of the hair razor...

But we re wrong, basically she dun like ppl to touch her head or hair. She cried when the nurse tried to measure her head and also when my Mum attempted to cut her hair...

So now, she looked like a Coconut head!

jekartik: I suggest Club Med Bintan if you have the budget for it. Very child friendly and my boy loved the beach. When I show him videos now of his time there, he still smiles and says "Dig Dig" cos he spent lots of time playing with the sand at the beach. =)

tinkabel,
heehee, cheapskate mummy dont want to pay for extra seat. i really doubt she will kuei kuei sit.

kaye,
i fly SQ. i dont know wat seats they give. wat should i choose?

sally,
yah GUG sucks lah.. i was err....

weishy,
i working at plaza sing, so is Dhoby Ghaut MRT station. around wat time ah?

ashm,
sounds like u have a good trip other than the place being old.
i called JG and they say should be ok, our waitlist is coming along. 4 teachers in a class.. quite huge hor.

michviv,
actually, i am keen to continue PDS. i wanted to join the sat 10am class for 18 months but seems like no numbers to make the class. so will wait and see.

Me ok with bilingual too....

Next action -- Try GraceKids Trial class...

Michviv, keep us updated! Muacks.

Ashm, take care! Muacks to u too!

Just finished my massage, wow, hothot hothot! Binder, tight tight tight! But mm, and Weishy, Haha I shall persevere longer, since left 2 more sessions, today I try tahan 5 hrs Haha.

michviv - i totally agreed PDS is good! Pls keep us posted on their bilingual class. In fact i was just thinking this morning that its good that we let our kiddos to mix around with someone familar just like PDS, they can get to meet each other every Sat
happy.gif

Weishy - The haircut is S$16 if i dont remember wrongly - yes they do cut for girls
happy.gif

Grace - 4 teachers in a class, this means they should have max 20 kids in the class then. One of the complaint is that their classroom is kindda of small so thats y they have to open up one to accommodate everyone.

Cindy - Thanks!
happy.gif
Good girl! Must perservere ok.... just tahan as long as you can. How much more weight you need to lose for now? Did you eat alot of those confinement food?

MissA - How was your Club Med Bali? Good?

Club Med - This will be the next resort i want to bring Ash to.... i know its good fun and all are taken care of!
happy.gif

Dreamer, how come i forgotten about you & Kaira! Hahaha... Okie, will tell her...

Grace, SQ ah... Good good... At least they re efficient! Usually, for bassinet seats, its the 1st front of the economy class...U opt for these seats.. As the further u re in the aircraft, the more bumpy the ride is!

u can go to this url to check out the seatign arrangement before you do ur seat allocation.. If u cant get ur seats hor, u can always call SQ and ask them for assistance.
happy.gif
I did that quite a few times.

www.seatguru.com

Grace,
my GUG trial experience aint that bad despite ZY also moving around in the class.. but my JG experience is definitely much better. Teachers and parents are friendly, depends on luck i guess. When r u trying out GraceKids??

ASHM,
welcome back, cant hv too high expectation when in M'sia, unless its really the 5* type.

Cindy,
persevere on! If u want no spare tyres next time!

Michviv, "dig dig" remind me of the Snow White & 7 Dwarfs song!

Talking abt spare tyre, mine is getting bigger & bigger... I need to cut down on my sugar intake! So demoralising to know my weight when trying to weight Claire at the PD clinic. Not to mention, someone tot i m pregnant and want to give up the seat to me! :p

Ashm, no Haha frankly this time super lax in confinement wise, as compared to travis, still have 5kg! Haha. I try to keep it on as long as i can but really difficult to bf with it bound to me hahaa...!

Lazykat, I try I try but surely have spare tyre de la.. Resigned to fate. Haha.

Grace- me keen also if its a am sat class for PDS! Michviv -Keep us posted ya :p

grace- if u book online u can chek in online 48hrs before flt. They usually assign those with kids in front of the cabin. I find if u take front row seats got more leg space but only down side like wat weishy says u cant lift the seat handles up so u cant put her lying down on the other seat if she zzz. But if u not taking nite flt & she not zzz than ok bah.

kaye, thanks for the link...
i will try. I already call them previously on meals. dont know what they will give, nevermind just take..haahaah

Lazykat,
i thinking of trying gracekids on sat 11 apr, 2pm class. think is rythem in me. but only 45 mins. i have to call again. u keen? i cannot do earlier cos week before is lasik mah.

Let's start a list for keen babies for PDS toddler class.

4) Ashton??

Grace, they will give the post-weaning meal lah... But hor, Claire dun eat only wants the dessert => Pudding!

Alternatively if the flight is not full, u can request to change seats lor!
happy.gif

poochi!!!
i just call PDS, they need 3 toddlers to start a class. Currently already 1 toddler and me confirmed. so we only need 1 more toddler..... if u keen, can you let me know, we can start this sat...haahaaa

anyone else keen?

Grace, the post weaning meal got apple juice, pudding, beef with mashed potato....

For the PDS, mabbe i join u ladies for one of the class like trials...

poochi.
if class starts from 28 Mar,
It will be 8 lessons ( last day is 16 May)
Total: $315
Deposit: $100( refundable)
Registration: $40 ( include a bag and t-shirt)
TO pay:$455

kaye,
trial class is at $45.. can offset if u keen to join.

J can still rem the regular songs sang at PDS class. he will do the actions or yell "yeah" at the end. i think he's alittle disappointed tat there's no more PDS class. at the last few lessons, he claps in joy whenever we reach the class.

Grace - I already signed up with JG Playnest for Ash for one term - sorry got to skip this round then..... Moreover Sat 10am is a bit early for him too.... Thanks for the info!!
happy.gif

Catherine,
G too! Now he likes to do the "open and shut" actions and tap the mat..so cute.

PDS:
wish to join but no budget..you mummies have fun and enjoy
happy.gif

Catherine: Haha...J is so cute! E also remembers the songs and asks me to sing him the songs. Suddenly out of the blue he will say "knock knock" and knock the strangest things like his Granny's bag. haha. Also the tapping on the mat song.

Think all of our little ones had a great time there. =)But I agree that the costs can be rather unsustainable.

Grace: Do we still need to pay the registration since our kids have been through PDS before and have the Tshirt and file?

michviv, for us is only $315. cos our deposit is still with them. no need to register anymore..

ashlyn also go around knock knock on different things..haahaaha

DEAR MUMMIES......I NEED HELP DESPERATELY....

My boy is coming 16mths, born nov 07....he can walk...but til now ...still not able to clap hands, grab biscuits to eat on his own, not even to grab his own ""tu tu"" into his mouth...does not wave bye bye or french kiss..even we teach him also no use...he does not seems to be interested to learn...

the only thing i feel consoled is that he can flip and see the books on his own...

shouls i bring him to see PD or specialist? Any Advice?

poohbee, when u brought him for his vaccinations & devt check ups, did u check with the PD?

guess, when it comes to individual devt and as parents, if u r concerned, best to seek professional advice.
happy.gif

k@ye, juz to share with u on MMR. kaira took it on 11th march. no fever etc. but today, got small red spots on the body. i called the clinic and checked cos its like 12 days from the jab, i thot all should be cleared. they said that the red spots are a possible side effect and can manifest within 2 weeks and may last up to 3 days but usually go off within 24 hours. FYI.

dreamer, thanks for ur reply......my hse is just opp the polyclinic....so for vaccinations, i bring him there ...much cheaper...

but when he got fever or rashes...i bring him to the kid's clinic at rivervale....the pd always say individual child development is diff.....but the last time i brought my boy to the PD was CNy this yr...

my boy still dunno how to hold his own milk bottle, still cries to the maid when he wants milk...

I was thinking should i bring back to the PD or is there any other specialist in hospital to do detail checkup or assessment?

poohbee:think u can if u're really concern about it
happy.gif

maybe everything is beign down at home for him?does he goes out to playground or playgroup????those can motivate him too
happy.gif

if u like usually the ladies will hv some gathering....can bring ur son and socialise abit
happy.gif

Grace:DG mrt oki hummmm can meet u on 30th monday...issit oki cos my gynea appt changed to 30th la.....let u know the timing asap...

would loved to join the PDS but.....no one to bring hayley there whilst i;m not in sin
sad.gif

not till jul ......

grace, jus realise that u mention its the 18mths class.. Hazel not yet 18mths can she join the class?

poohbee, is your child with maid most of the time in the day or there are also others ard him? sometimes it could jus be he's not engaged in conversation during the day and being served by the maid so he refuses to be independent. Agreed wif the rest if worry pls get advise fr PD.
