(2007/11) November MTBs

K@ye:ya i think esp this yr....alot of piglets and moo moos......
happy.gif
so must waitlist loooooo.told my friend tooto waitlist few months back and so far she got her 2nd choice...(normal childcare la)

HKg international......english maybe good but others.......they're good at creativity but when it comes to academic........so also cranking my head now....i like angmo kindies but....dun want her to only know how to eat potato mah :p(jiak kan tang)

Which area in bedok is good har??????

Tinkabel, that's good to hear! At least u get some rest!
happy.gif

Weishy, that's what the wife told me.. The angmo kindergarden is good but she will stop her gals from calling the teachers by their name. Coz she still wants them to show respect the teachers!

U mean childcare in Bedok or what? To me, Bedok is good coz its accessible to alot of place in the East lah...but the envt still not as good as those pte estates... Opera Estate is good!!!
happy.gif

Anyway, my parents live near to the Bedok central but they re hvg this major lift upgrading project!

Tinkabel, ya man...hb n i also nt the KS type. but seeing the way some parents are so 'On' with their kids enrichment n all, we cant help but feel guilty n even out of place sometimes.

haha talking abt getting preg when working. i felt so discouraged aft hving my son n went bk to the workforce. Potential emplyers drilled me abt my work commitment n all being a mum n a career woman. So sian that i we mummies hv to work extra hard to convince bosses that we can juggle work n family. Somehow we always feel so threatened by single n available woman who can put in the extra hours in their work. Not sure if u agree on that though. I gave up working for others n due to the nature of my job, i can work on my own - freelance. that made me happier.

K@ye,nt sure if the bedok camp area is accessible for u. u can pop down to treasure box (bedok) to take a look. my son is with them, but the Parry Ave branch. so far the Parry standard is good. jus sharing with u
happy.gif

MM, Bedok Camp area is considered ATAS n pte estate leh for me liao... HEhe, no lah... Inaccessible coz no car lor!

True also, but even if i m a single or childless married woman.. I also dun put in extra hours coz there is no work-life balance... Work is not everything, yes it might allow us to buy the things we want but its not everything!

K@ye, hmm can consider transprt arrangement ma...ATAS meh? i nvr tot so le....

oh for me diff. when i was single, i was very hardworking kind, very onz one...hahha..n cos of my work demand, creative line la...the juice only flows at night..kekeke. so always worked till wee hrs.
but aft i got married, soon aft my son was born, i couldnt put in that kind of comittment. my job was nvr a 9-5 kind, so in the end very poor thing. the 1st-2nd yr my son always see my early in the morning n only comes bk late at night with my hb (also in same line)...hiaz...so we decided tat since we so 'pia' for bosses, why nt we work hard for ourselves lo...crossing my fingers that we can carry on that way for a long time

Tinkabel,
i understand what u mean as i hv just started reading on Glenn Doman's How Smart is your baby? A bit late, but i guess i just wanna read abt his school of thoughts. The feeling is like, gosh, hv i waster her 1st yr then? But no lor, cos i think she has turned out fine.

Happy,
your comments are indeed "farnie", but dun hv to feel guilty not doing flashcards or stuffs that other mummies r doing, cos even if u force yrself doing it, i doubt H will feel happy/enjoy the session. Its more impt to me, to do an activity that both hv a gd time. Even if it means doodling with crayons on a blank piece of paper. Esp u r preggie, stay cheerful
happy.gif

I just feel that since she is already doing all these free play n stuffs at home, the other area which is lacking is flash cards n stuffs, so give LNT a try. I just hope she can learn to sit still for a longer period of time, besides eating!

K@ye,
so at least i hv a good Pri school within walking distance,
happy.gif
anyway if that fails, my alma matar is @ Punggol, assuming i am still staying here 5 yrs down the road!

lazykat: exactly, same feeling as you when I read his How Smart is Your Baby? But hack la, imagine as a NB, u hv to face getting bb into routine of sleeping, feeding, etc and then u got to include his methods? It's just too stressful. I hardly think much people will do that. Really takes a lot of discipline.

MM: Ya, same feeling as you. Like my boss during review last time, would actually say he is impressed I am able to balance work and family as a full time working mum. But honestly, when it comes to opportunities, they rather give it to someone (in most cases, are men) cos they are more stable, not so much to worry about. Well, I have to accept this as a fact, since I am born a woman. No other way out. I just believe that no matter how hard u try to prove you are just as capable, you will still lose out, cos they always got this worry that you might put family 1st. In fact, I did feel a little disppointed when they took me off. I was perfectly ok about taking it on. But I guess, again, opportunities and how it will affect them. But hack la... It is what it is. Can never change how the society views this.

tinkabel,
yes agree totally. my boss used to 'look down' on me when i first joined his coy. then aft i proven results to him, he treated me differently.

i still remembered there was an occasion i caught a stomach flu n kept throwing up during office hour. he got to know from my colig that i vomitted a few times already. the first thing he asked when he saw me was :"Dun tell me u are pregnant", Gosh, my first tot was instead of asking how i was feeling...

so i told him no i wasnt preggy. he looked worried n told me he hope tat i dun get preg within this yr...arrghh...crazy man! soon aft i resigned n helped my hb in his biz, then aft a yr conceived M

RE: Flash cards
i salute mummies who can really do tt routinely n bb showed results. for one, i can nvr flash the cards routinely...sometimes so tied up / lazy...hahaha i know i m a bad mummy.
Lazykat, i agree with u lor...its doenst mean that our bb lose out in any way...

MM, no lah... Currently looking for childcare ard my area coz of the lift upgrading project at my parents pl. The dust caused Claire's eczema to flare up!

Lazykat, hehe... I think the back up plan is still our alma mater!

weishy,
i think you are lucky to have such a good helper, do flashcards with your gal somemore. My sis one quitted after coming for only 2 weeks..haha..

Poissons, how s ur nephew? Shd be oki from the fall.

Weishy, yalor u re lucky! I also never do flashcards lah... If i remember, i will read to Claire or teach her those words on the wall (paste some learning stuff - my colleague gave it to me) If not, teach her nonsense by shaking butt or what lor...

Hehe, that's y Claire so cheeky!

Grace - Good, I can meet up on Mar 6
happy.gif

I m so sianz!! Miss Claire like crazy... Seems that she is enjoying herself very much in HK!

Poissons, haha... Buy a new top, dress or bottom for urself lah!!!

poissons - can u meet us on the 6th for lunch?

Grace / MM - Meet in the morning say at 10.30am for gogobambini and lunch after that?

ASHM, cannot meet up lah... Month end closing!
sad.gif

Claire will be back next Sunday... So gotta treasure my time now... Must catch up as much sleep as possible!~

Mummies - i know we have touched on this before, can anyone tell me if Pat's Schoolhouse is good? Which is better? St James or Pat's? Seems like the first one is more hype because many "famous" parents send their children there?? TIA!!

grace - ok i will see you inside of gogo and we can go for lunch after that. I am driving so you can put the pram in my car
happy.gif

mm - how? can you join us?

Cindy - Good luck this Thu!! Have loades of rest after the operation! Remember to wear the gurdle meant for after c-section op! Sorry didn't get to talk to you at PDS last Sat!!
happy.gif

ASHM,
I see how's my workload and mtgs next week, if ok, will take leave next fri to join you ladies, but dun think i wanna bring G along..very shiong. Lunch at where ah?

poissons - if you want to shop after lunch, we can have it either at Paragon or Taka? I know to bring a todd out is not easy especially they now know how to walk, and want to walk everywhere! I am bringing Ash's nanny cos my back still hurts so cannot really carry or follow him around too much........

yah, it's very tiring to keep on following our todds, even at home. sometimes G gets quite stubborn, ask him to move, he doesn't budge, ask him not to move, he explores the whole house, peace time only when he's asleep..haha.

u gals go decide where to eat first bah, cos i can't confirm my "attendance" yet.

Poissons, Claire even better.. if she dun want to move.. She will purposely lie down on the floor n made us like drag her away!

Cindy:ya girdle(actually its those spine wraps) really really helps.....i use it right after beign pushed out from the theatre.

grace:~hummmmm too bad cant join u guys.......

helper:yup she cares about her la....more than me actually....so i just let her......at least i know she loves her....crew friend just commented tat my helper kisses hayley....well....to me i;m oki with it...i even share my spoon /straw with her so.....anyway she got no hep B etc mah so why worry :p
As long as i know i'm the mother so oki la :p
i hv to depend on her totally when i'm not around but better to let her show her love than try to stop .....
happy.gif

ASHM/ Grace,
ya shouldnt be a problem to join in. but i also bring pram le, how?

i will be popping over to CK tangs to pick up my MACs thingy la...hehehe

what do i need to prepare for Gogobambini? and hhow u all settle kiddos lunch? eat outside food?

ASHM, regarding St James, thats the one i was talking abt -my fren already registered her July baby for K1 class- on waiting list!

MM - You not driving? Are you going to bring your bee? heeheehee

Just bring socks for Mischa and yourself for Gogo. As for lunch - i will get the nanny to cook macaroni with chicken/pork and carrots, u guys want also? I just tell her to cook more
happy.gif

MM - I know they have a long waiting list...but are they really that good?? My friend told me to consider to put Ash to Pat's sch... Apparently they sold one one their teaching curriculum to St James!! Maybe i will put him on this 2 and see how it goes...........

weishy,
i totally agree with your thots on helper..better to let them shower their love than stop them from doing so. afterall we are the mummies, so our kiddos will naturally stick to us in the end. my cousin's helper of 5 yrs tried carrying G the other day and my nephew was so possessive of her that he cried no-no and dun allow her to do so..haha.

St James,
me also put G on waiting list for Pre-N and N when he was 6-7 mths old. my sis helped me with the registration cos my niece was studying there, just trying my luck lah..not guaranteed will get a seat...also exploring other schools, maybe LSH.

Poissons - We will sms or call you on that day to see where are we having lunch ok? Or if you can let us know the day before, we can arrange to meet you.......
happy.gif

ASHM, what s the receipe for macaroni with chicken/pork & carrots for Ash? Me wanna try and see whether Claire eats.. she dun eat, i can eat! Hahaha!

MM, when did u start feeding rice to Favian? A HK relative told my Mum that she should let Claire start eating rice!

ASHM,
St James is quite far from your current place right? Are you considering to move to the west? Where is pat's school btw?

poissons - we are moving to whampoa, just got a EM over the weekend.....
happy.gif
So not too far from St James....

There are a few Pat's school, the one i know is at moubatten rd, east coast.....

ashm,
yeh, i dont mind marcoroni... can you include ashlyn's share. thanks! i not bringing my bee. bring my light weight volo cos too heavy for me to maintain alone with her and bag. so i think MM's pram can go in...

kaye,
actually ashlyn eats rice liao. think have around 2 months liao bah...

k@ye - we have been feeding Ash with rice and dishes when he turns one year old..... he will take our soup (we do not put salt in it) I even let him try brown rice.... its good to start now....

As for macaroni - we will boil it with ikan billis after we wash and soak them in water so that it will not be so salty, then just add meat and carrots and the macaroni.......

Grace, i see.. I let Claire eat rice lah but not like a proper meal... coz my Mum dun want her to chew the rice for too long and then the food turn cold!

ASHM, oh... The macaroni is soup based.. HEhe, will try it out... Btw, what's EM?

As for brown rice hor, my fren told me sometimes it could be too bu for the kid. So take in moderation and plus it might be more difficult for them to digest it properly.
