Weishy, Hahah... So much food.... Next time, i go HK, will help you tabao!!

MM, u find a box and then just packed everything (Weishy;s food order) into the box.... Easier to check in and wont spoilt your items if got spillage...

Me was so pissed off when the curry sauce spilled onto my clothes during my last trip to HK and my Mum just packed the stuff into my suitcase without putting newspapers or a ziplock bag for the curry!

Weishy, heheh not a lot liao as compared to my HK aunt request but mabbe culture shock for MM. That time, the curry was surrounded by clothes... Nothing poking it lah but it was pressue i think.

Usually, default items by my HK Auntie, peanuts, rocher, Nonya dumplings, ah Kun Kaya, Bengawan Solo items, Roti prata, otaks n medicated oil (my godma).. All these usually take up ard 5-10kg of lugguage (excluding hand lugguage food items)....

Now, we dun bring that much liao... coz its damned tiring to walk up and down the stairs to bring our lugguage up.

Me most likely to go HK in Dec to attend my godma's birthday celebration lor!

Wah weishy can meh? mean u actually ta pau those food and it didn't spoil? U have to check in like 2hrs before too right? I salute you leh...
I also miss Singapore food ;o( here anything chinese have to cook yourself. so Sad...
 
Suzanne, we all experts in exporting SIN food to HKG! Hahaha, wont spoil lah coz up in the air... Its very cool acts as a fridge for the food!

K@ye:hahhaha true true....u can freeze those freezable ones then chk it in,of cos wrap with newspapers first la.......will be still frozen when u reach ur destinations......dunno about form sin to us though........
 
Weishy , oh ya hor.... U can use ur chiller on board. to US think cannot lah... Dunno leh never try but journey v v long lah don't think the food can tahan.
Wah wat other food do you all bring? I never thought that mee pok can be brought up the plane and last so long. When I was studying in australia i should have done that at least the flight then was only 8hrs but plus travelling, waiting transport time would be total of about 12hrs i think... Now... hard man... Don't think i'll attempt.
 
Suzanne:mee pok le....hv to be consume on hat very day...sin to hkg nearby ,3.5hours so oki la.u cn bring on board and tryt po oask the cabin crew to keep inside the chiller for u mah........hv to be nic eloooooooo.......in cx oki...dunno about other airlines.
 
Psst, can be done lah... coz we also ask the air stewardess to put the pandan cake in the chiller for SIA!

K@ye:pandan cake oki la its a all time favourite for all hkg crews!!!!!!!!can keep 3 days le...in the fridge,but hv to put in room temp for 30mins or so.........cso in the fridge....all dry up mah need some humidity back so it'll be soft again

K@ye, ya u are right. i got a culture shock when i saw the list of food weishy wanted..gosh!

weishy i think i nvr told u i m taking United Airlines..the flt is 6am..i gotta check in at 4am...leave my hm at maybe 3+am and wake up like 2am...hahaha where to find the char kway teow le?
i cant buy a day in advance right? by the time i pack n reach u in HKG,...think all go 'chao kway teow' not Cha kway teow alrady...hahahha.
Do u hv any cravings for DRY stuff instead? furthermore hor i m nt sure if i hv time to see u at the airport or nt cos i wil be taking the agency airport to hotel transfer..nt sure where is the meeting pt cos i m nt familiar. i was thinking to meet you after i settle down in my hotel..maybe go look for u for dinner instead...then nt so rush.
so unless u tell me i can pack ur 'cravings' a day in advance then i will definately help!

K@ye/weishy, ya for stroller i definately hv to bring la cos my son also naps once a day. the BECO will be used to carry Mischa most of the time...dun forget i hv 2 kids le...so its nt so simple/..hiaz...i will bring my combi la - jus trying my luck n see if HKG is friendly enough for strollers.

weishy, why u say ppl in Spore give the dirty look when u use strollers? for me i dun care...i always think that those with children/strollers should be given the priority...i usually give ppl the dirty look if they block my way when i m pushing strollers..hehehehe
 
MM, the chwee kueh can buy one day in advance one... Buy at night, wont be spoiled... As long as item dun hv much coconut milk ingredients in it, can keep...

As for cha kway teow, buy at night, bring home let it cool down... Put inside the fridge, wrap it with newspapers (abt to set off) and check in! Haha...

But MM, if too much of hassle for u, i think Weishy can understand! Hahaha!

Oh ya, forgotten abt Favian... Then u better bring combi or get Weisht to lend u her stroller lah! Coz hor, getting the stroller in HK airport is also quite troublesome... Me got so bad experience at the HK airport!
 
hey ladies, any advise on helping baby to zzz when they having a cold. Looks like Hazel is down with a cold, her nose is stuck and its disturbing her fr her zzz.
Sianz tot she is free from illness this CNY..

The stroller u can chk in it when u board the plane....then they'll gove u back once u arrive outside the aircraft door(must wait la cos they bring up from the cargo )if u chk it in then hv to collect at the excess baggage belt which is last belt....think belt 15 or 16 something like that la.

those ppl from agency or hotel will put up a sign bahhhhhhh unless they say u get ur own transport to hotel.well if meet up for dinner....hayley wont be there cos pass her bed time la......8pm so only me and andrew can??????

poochi:ya vicks(i use those for kids,got cherry favour) on her chest too and try to clear her nostrils as much as possible.....difficult cos they dun usually like us to touch their nose.

remember to use those baby vicks (or what they call baby snuffles or whatever i cannot remember )...not adult vicks k?

if its cold she;s suffering from, before she sleeps, u can rub her soles with the "vicks" and then after that, wear socks for her. it worked for Kaira!
 
Ya, its baby vicks => Baby Snuffles, cherry favour... If not, u can try to remove the mucus from her nose. This is help her to sleep better!

MM, ya UA tend to be very strict coz the ultimate destination is US!

Regarding PlayDays,

I dont think i will continue Ashlyn for Playdays for term 2. We must write in to confirm so that we can get our deposit of $100 back at the end of the class. Anyone tried Julia Gabriel or Kindermusik or Grace's kids? Any comments....?

missA, hmmm, i dunno if roseola is contagious...its due a virus ... so i suppose it is....not sure.

hope A recovers fully soon! the rash should disappear after a few days...think for K the rashes subsided on the 3rd day.
 
dreamer, i hope so too cos dun wan to skip gym class again on Sat. Oops brought her to make up class this morning tot her fever gone, hope din pass to others. Lucky din bring her to infant care today.

Ashlyn is ok with PlayDays lah but i just think that it gets a little boring after awhile...haahaahaa. Quite similar structure for each lesson. i think she enjoys the sitting in front of the teacher when they are singing and playing the guitar. And of cos the snacks lesson....she is ok with the art and craft part but dont think she is too crazy over it =)

grace, its very routinely music. Same thing carry your child move ard type. Then give them musical instruments to play, not literally play instruments but more of toys la. Then tell u those toys good for developing what and where, hmmm, nothing much loh. Somemore only 45min, sing song nia, don't think it can get very interesting Heee.

Okie, lets go source out for others Heee.
 
MissA, Roseola not contagious (confirmed by PD)... but some ppl will freak out seeing the rashes... Oh, MissA, forget to tell u this, can bath A in boiled Chinese celery water... It will help the rashes to subside... Learn this from my Mum when Claire got Roseola.

Cindy, Claire din poo... Me damned stressed.. Fever & constipation dun sit very well with me now!
 
MissA, Claire got this very bad habit. She needs a biscuit or sweet to eat before she is willing to sit on the potty to POO!

G has recovered in time for CNY but still coughing so pd gave instructions to nebeulise him everyday (even on the first 2 days of CNY!)...imagine he was crying so hard on the first day of the cny morning! so heartpain. anyway, now his virus has spread to me and his daddy...sigh.

my gal fell twice at my IL's place on CNY Day 1, kena her face (blue-black) when she fell and knock on the chair then hor play with my ILs then slip on the floor and hit her head - another bualuku. sigh...

but lucky she's ok lah, coz we tried to 'pretend' it's no BIG deal but in my heart, of coz is SUPER BIG DEAL lah... muahaha...

thk this CNY, she also poo very little, eat too much biscuits liao - and will bring the whole CNY cookie tub to me and ask me to open for her to eat!!! grrr...

C also got stuffy nose when she sleeps for alomost a wk liao - i also applied vicks (for kids) at the sole of her feet, her chest and also rub a bit at the bottom of her nose. i thk is aircon lah... she woke up crying/wailing and choking for breath for few nites, it was very kelian lor. now getting better liao.

same here, will stop C after this term - partly coz we wun hv much time to bring her there coz i'll b popping soon.

Classes: After observing E this CNY, Hubby and I have come to decision that E is ready for school cos he is so darn independent! Dun want Mummy and Daddy at all!

And he's talking so much now. Mummies, you better ask everyone to be careful of what they say. Yesterday, Hubby said "KOK" and he repeated after his daddy, twice! *faints* Hubby was so shocked that he told me to remind him not to say that again. =P

C is blabbering a lot, sometimes very funny stuffs but not as good as E in repeating the same exact word though.

me & HB are just glad that C opened up after PDS and is now more willing to let others carry her, esp at my IL's place and also during CNY at my frenz'... she will do her walkabout instead of keep clinging to daddy like a koala bear! hee hee...

my girl also ganna knock twice, one on CNY eve and another on 1st day of CNY... 1st one was i was rushing into room to answer my hp, then B followed me and she slipped and knocked on her forehead against the frame of the door... on 1st day of CNY, her elder sis walked past and knocked onto her, she sat down on floor and fall backwards and knock her head... haiz... got 'bao' on forehead and also slight one behind... but lucky she was ok after a while...

re: potty
hmm, very strange now... we've been sitting B on potty since she was few months old and she was all along ok, will poo and pee but in the recent 1-2 mths, whenever we put her on potty, she will sit only for a min and after that will insist that she gets up! will cry and whine... haiz, dunno why leh...

can i check what kind of cup/bottles are you using for ur lil ones? i usually put water into the following for her to drink throughout the day but can't find one that is good leh:
- magmag: tried using all the 3 different 'heads' but all will leak water when she tilts the cup to drink
- avent sippy cup: leaks when it's lying down
- nuby with teat cup: also leaks leh when drinking...

now dun even dare to put other types of water into the cup for her to drink esp. like barley cos the cup leaking leh...
mummies, can share what will b a good buy for them to use?
 
plim, get the combi cup. pricey but is good. i will be moving on to the 'cup spout' (stage 3or4) soon. at my mum's pl, M is using Pigeon (jap version) straw cup - leak slightly thru the straw cover.then when i go out, i use the straw water bottle with strap cos M can really drink water, the small cup nt enough for the whole day. u may wan to try this cos it doesnt leak.

actually i thnk i hv mentioned here before that those really leakproof cups will nt be useful for kids cos its really hard to suck any liquid out.

very sad with the 360 cup i purchased recently...useless!

G doesn't like water now (throat not fully recovered yet), so i force-feed him with spoon..haha. I use magmag but he will only take a few sips and push the bottle away. I realise the sucking tube gets dirty easily, the dirt usually stucks in the bottom of the tube and i have to get it replaced..twice already so far. sometimes i feed him with small mineral water, lied to him that it's some cold juice, he will usually drink from there...haha..talk abt being smart..haha.
 
Plim, me using the combi mug. So far so good, will leak when din close properly.

Me so stressed up, my Mum just freaked me out and to give myself a piece of mind, will be bringing Claire to KKH later. Last thursday, Claire fell backwards on her head and on Monday, she got fever... Her fever still not subsided, my Mum told me to go for a scan of her head for assurance.

Then my hubby not supportive when i told him that. I buey tahan and broke down in the office. Me feeling better now but i m really tired.
 
k@ye, take care! things like dat can really get to us sometimes.

plim, A also use the pigeon straw mag so far good except it's a bit small but I'm ok with it since i change the water inside especially if she drinks wiht food in her mouth, she'll dirty the water inside.

poissons, I use the mag mug cleaning brush to scrub the straw.

i have two of those bottle you showed in the pic. One of it will leak, the other not that bad. Seems like difficult to get one that doesn't leak at all even when lying sideways cos sometimes put into bag will just knock over lor.

the magmag u use doesn't leak when it's placed horizontally?
