It has become my habit to read this baking thread everyday. cannot do without it. its a very informative thread if u love to bake/ cook.

i jus made some macs today. quite happy with the results hehehe.

catherine, did i mention i was getting a thermo pot? No leh I din. Unless you mean how i bring porridge out, i put it in Thermal's thermo pot (small one). Yesterday we bought the delphine vacuum cleaner cum air purifier cum dust mite cleaner, the lady came to demo & we quite like it. Hope it wont be a white elephant given the hugh price tag.

langlao and all:: thank you for the tips on the pasta! haha after seeing him like want to choke and vomit, MIL say don't want give him liaos. Aiyo!!

Cindy: You must taste a macaroon! Like heaven man! =P I wanted to try Playdays out cos its near my place and its only recently that they have started Saturday classes. And the best part? The trial class is free! *lol* http://playdays.com.sg/ Heard good feedback so thought I'd try, think its similar to JG but cheaper. Have to see for myself. =P

Ethan liked GUG and we did a trial class there already but when he was 10 months old I think. Is there a separate class for 12 months and above? Recall the trial went up in price to $50.

Aiyo. sorry to hear about Travis's experience with pasta. Hope he's not traumatised after this. Where's little gym ah?
 
Mummies - just brought Ashton to his PD this morning to get his 3rd shot of prevenar He told me that we can give our babies cod liver oil. Anyone started on that already?

Hi Mummies, for those of you who cook brown rice porridge. Do u cook the brown rice grains or is it still in powder form? Cos brown rice texture is not as soft as white rice ya?

my princess also only 2 teeth, but she can handle brown rice grains quite well (usually i use half brown + half white) - juz hv to cook until the "husks break open"

Back fr Hayley's party and ZY only powernap for half an hr, refuse to sleep after we reach home. Might as well shop at United Square..

Sharron, I didnt give cod liver oil. I give flaxseed oil since 8 months. Flaxseed oil and cod liver oil are omegas except cod is direct conversion to epa and dha unlike flaxseed.
I prefer flaxseed because it is plant based.

K@ye, hmm I am not sure if I can make it . I tell you asap. Sorry about it. would love to come with baby.

michviv, A attended the GUG trial recently, we just walk in when the class was abt to start. Thr was a 10 mth old baby in the same class so I guess we attended the same class. I paid $50. It was enjoyable but I dun intend to sign up. How's Playdays? I'll prob sign up for a trial class.

Cindy, did Travis enjoy Little Gym? A is going again tmr morn, got to make up for a class she miss. She went 3 times this week, bo bian hv to make up before term ends nx Sat.

cindy, is travis afraid of strangers? Ash only cry when we take away things that she wan. One time she cry &amp; cry cos teacher took away the bells. If you expose Travis more, maybe he will not cry when he get use to the environment? I'll also book playdays on 6 Dec since it's free lol.

How are you? Sorry I've been MIA. Been busy with work training before actually starting work in Dec. My Mom is visiting and we just came back from dinner.

K was behaving so well. She sat on the high chair all through dinner and ate everything I put on her plate! So suprise as none of her brothers could do that... even till now!

Re: brown rice.
I usually add white rice to brown rice so the texture is not too rough. I would boil the brown rice first... and add white rice later. It is soft enough for K to eat straight (thick porridge). She loves Japanese rice... so I've been giving her those too!

Cindy ah, u can only exposed Travis more to ppl lor... My PD will quote him as having STRANGER ANIXETY. Claire also have but her level is not as strong as Travis. She will cry when we dun give in to her....

The best part is she knows when to cry so that we will GIVE IN to her immediately... And now, i just let her CRY even though it can be irriating to others in the public!

Langlao - Is the cod liver oil organic? I was asked to buy this brand Artic cod liver oil with DHA and must be certified free from heavy metal and dioxin = pure oil. In the end, I bought Ash the Scotts Emulsion the original flavour and he took it well this morning....

K@ye - the mosquito repellant that i mentioned to you at Hayley's party is called Baby Natural Spray - it is a natural essential oils product. Ok for sensitive skin.

Thanks. K's hair getting long already. Its shoulder length... her shoulder... lol. Was thinking of triming her hair.... but a little "pu she de". She is more gentle compared to my boys tho... lol. I'm sure Claire will bloom soon!

Talking about catering, if you have fried bee hoon, it is always nice to go with curry chix. ;)

Weishy, I thought the food was nice compared to your normal caterer. Eventhough it was a small spread it was more than sufficient for the amount of people who were there. And I agree with cactusnah, your baby spread was very thoughtful

Weishy: Happy birthday to Hayley! =) Glad you guys had a blast! Wish we could have been there.

Cindy: Aiyo, poor travis...I agree with Langlao and it may be stranger anxiety. Ethan had that around 6-9 months old. Cried at anyone who approached him. Somehow, he's gotten over it now. For friends, I recommend you talking to the person first with Travis in arms (if possible) so that he can see how you interact with the person and study the person. Immediate direct eye contact scared Ethan initially and he has to "size" them up before he interacts with them. Now he still runs between my legs if a stranger approaches but once he sees me interact, he will smile and say hello too.

Playdays: My verdict? Very good! =) I'm actually very keen on signing up with them but my hubby is not keen cos it means that our weekends are kinda "tied down" at that time. The 2 teachers are very interactive and personal - they remember parents and babies names well and ask alot about the child. The whole lesson is very much like a Julia Gabriel playnest lesson. There is free play, story time, arts and craft, snack time and music time. Ethan thoroughly enjoyed himself. The founder of the centre actually came in to play the keyboard! I like it cos its new and not too crowded yet. =P Let me know what you think? I may consider signing up next year. See how...=)

michviv:: really!! i hope T doesn't cry anymore soon. It really gets on me and hubby's nerves. Stranger anxiety:: it's hard to believe he has it cause he's usually okay and friendly and LOUD to strangers. Before the class he was still smiling and waving to the teacher. But when class started, aiyo, RAIN started too. I don't know why. We sectioned him out, he play himself okay, other kids walk towards him, he can play and shout at them but when the SAME teacher comes near, CRY BUCKETS and not willing to participate. keep wanting to carry carry carry. MALU!! but i do agree that the little gym instructor is VERY nice. Hehe, I will test it out playdays! it's near my home too muahahaha..
