Voice,
Ayden will be taking school bus too next Jan for his pre-nursery class at Marymount kindergarten too..
A bit worrying rit??

Magoo & Voice: Actually I personally feel unsafe for young children to sit in school bus. I've seen how "mobile" these kids are myself ... whenever I go and pick D, I get to observe how the students behave on the bus cos many times, my car is just behind the school bus. Not all will guai guai sit there one. Some even move from seat to seat to play with their friends.

hi all,
sarah went for the trial half day at My First Skool this morning. As per normal, she just kept to herself and explored the whole place. I thought she would be able adapt well, then one boy who seemed to love to scream, scared her. She started crying and clings to me like mad. aiyoh...disappointing. Hubby said probably, we are involving too many kids in this initial stage (ratio is like 1:8) and the place still undergoing some minor renovation. Furthermore, its non-aircon and hubby thinks the centre being located near highway is really noisy. AND so, I let him decide - Sarah will just start at Cherie Hearts on Sat (till now ratio there is like 2:5).

=( i tot can save money a bit (MFS's fee is only half of CH's). Apart from those issues listed above, i tot everything else was fine.

Even the food, I think looks ok, some porridge with brown rice, vege and fish. Sarah fed herself and of course created a big mess. V impressed with the other kids only a few months older than her can really take care of themselves. Suddenly, i wonder if both hubby and me are super protective over our little girl, so much so she is so scared of screaming kids. gee...

justme: im really worried abt yz being unable to self-feed himself the meals when he goes cc this may when hes 18.5m. the teacher said they will feed him if see that he cant do so himself. but im worried they may just feed abit and never continue since we are not there to supervise or anything. sigh. wonder if i should slowly start teaching him to do so from now on.

will b sending him to learning vision at a branch near my hse. ratio is also 1:8 currently but the teacher said by then, some of the kids will be promoted to nursery so the ratio will be down to 1:6 including yz. persnally i still think its abit high. heard that some kids are on half-day , will ask again when bringing him for the trial early apr..

sorry but we are talking abt half day or full day here? if half day, no worries on self feeding rite? can just feed when they get home?

my boy will have some snacks in the morning...for pre-schooler. I saw the menu today, quite good, is those noodles/bee hoon type, not biscuits or Roti. hee hee!

Pillow: whether full day or 1/2 day CC, will have morning snacks/bf served.

Magoo: how much is the sch fee at marymount kindergarten? At JCCK, it's $140 per mth, 2hrs daily session.

Just brought Jordan for his MMR today ... praying hard that he won't have fever. PD said usually fever will come after 5 days.

How tall and heavy are your bbs now? Jordan's height is 85 cm and for weight, abit tricky cos the clinic's weight was only 11.6 kg but when I weighed him at home, using the weight difference between me + him and me alone, he should be weighing 12.4 kg. I seriously think there is something wrong with the clinic's weighing machine.

Voice, I can answer on magoo's behalf since Jordan is also going to Marymount.

The Pre-Nursery fees is $802.50 per term of 10 weeks. So effectively it's around $321 per month. This is not inclusive of the miscellaneous / computer fees to be paid separately.

The session is 3 hourly per day.

waaah blue, such a big difference in the fees! Think 'district' plays a part in the fee structure. Jurong more ulu...so cheaper..haahaa!

ecookie,
maybe, its good if once in awhile, you let YZ self feed. cos, when we were there, the teacher will help the kids but only 1-2 mouth spoon. Then said "eat yourself, i won't feed you" i guess its logical, else how to care for the rest?

sarah super clingy now. guess it was traumatic for her this morning. argh!

Good morning mummies ... it's TGIF!

Anyone knows what happened to Irene? She updated in her facebook "Thanks for all the well wishes etc." ... wondered what happened to her.

Hi Blue,
Morning! Oh, you remind me of Irene... I think she has some health problem lately... do read her blog, she has some updates there...

Hopefully, she will recover very quickly...

justme: i was worried though yz will only be eating lunch n breakfast there. dinner i will still prepared for him. but scare he ll be hungry when he s there. think will let him try self feed. hopefully, he ll see it as fun and willing to learn soon. out with the waterprrof bibs!

blue: last measurement at PD, yz was 83cm at 11.4kg at 14m old. ur home scale is digital one? digital should be more accurate. sometimes those used by PD is not digital and i have my doubts too. jordan seems to be of a good weight!

My gal is ard 82 cm and 10.5kg now. Getting fat under the constant feeding of my maid...

Re: Childcare/ Playgroup/ Pre-nursery
Looking at the price charged by the various playgroups, i am quite glad that i booked the place at Learning vision for my gal. Saves me A LOT of $$$$. Actually, my main aim of sending her their is for the lesson time. ard 3 hours in the morning and 1 hour in the afternoon (chinese class).

re: todd weight and height.

I dunno abt sarah's height now. Last check was 77 cm ~ 3 months back.
her weight is currently 9.9 kg though. Atinarin, our girls are abt same weight eh?

Emily: Oh, I only occasionally check blogs from blogspot cos mine's from livejournal. Ok, will check her updates from there.
happy.gif

ecookie: YZ also quite heavy at 14 months hor? Must be eating and drinking very well.

And yap, my home scale is digital one. So I think should be accurate.

I don't know about SKII. The Dr's Secret range is retailed at $535 for a set of:
1. Cleanser
2. Toner
3. Skinlight
4. Skinrecon
5. Sunscreen

I am selling my spare sets at $380 per set only cos I overbought and didn't expect 1 set to last me more than 6 months! Expiry is end 2010 or till 2011.

I remember some of you signed up your bbs for Julia Gabriel Billingual Playclub right? Just got a call from them to say Jordan got a slot for next term already! Didn't expect so fast cos he was 40+ on wait list then.

Anyone also starting next term?

scratching

Mummies with girls, does your girls scratch their "diaper area"? My girl seemed to be suffering from serious itchiness, she scratch and scratch, esp during bath time. When her diaper is on, she also scratch. I check, there is no rashes, the area looks fine, no redness, nothing. Until she scratch so hard that there is some swelling and skin torn.

I don't know how to help her stop scratching.

cookie: issit b'cos he diaper is not comfy? Time to change another brand? Bring her to PD and check out what's wrong if change of brand doesn't helps.

Emily,Darmae

Yesterday went to Centrepoint, saw SKII was having event at the podium.

Did you gal go and attend??
I kpo kpo.. hee

Good morning mummies.
How's everyone? I miss chatting with u gals.

We brought Jerald for his MMR last Sat crossing fingers hope he dun get fever.

Hi blue,
I'm back but still struggling with work & slowly recovering from my old prob.

Hi mag,
Working today? How's Ayden?

For those who signed up for Julia Gabriel Bilingual Playclub, in case you are not aware, they just implemented merge of 2 classes. Now instead of 10 in a class, it's 20 in a class now.

According to my friends, it's very chaotic ... esp at this age when the kids cannot keep still ... some will even wail. Lotsa distractions.

I have voiced my concern to them already. The person I spoke with urges me to write in to feedback cos she can't persuade the management to switch back to original class size with just verbal feedback.

So for those who's sending your kids to JG, pls pls pls help to write in!

hi blue
yes i heard fr a fren that the class now has double capacity & JG tryin to reduce costs by pulling resources tog but mixing of e languages has kind of made it more confusing for her twins. the noise level according to her to so high, she cant even hear e teacher talk or give instructions! but then teachers said noise is caused by parents repeating teachers instructions. *lol* my fren told me she has to repeat instructions bec her twins cant hear wht to do! she is not continuing after tis term it seems. also e queue in washbasins r now really long during breaks & storytime, no one can hear anythg bec of wailing and screaming toddlers

looks like u r also having same probs huh?

Tek_Koh: I don't know how bad it will get yet cos we are starting only end Mar. Hopefully it's not that bad and that more parents will petition for class size to revert back to 10. Btw since they merge the class, they save on their resources but then our fees never change!
sad.gif

Blue
my fren wrote in but she said management said only 4-5 mommies fedback - i tink, translation it means, not enuff power to get em to do anythg?

if u r gona do a petition, i can forward details onto my fren to put her name down to add some wt?

Hi blue,
angel is attending JG playnest at the moment n will start playclub end of march too. I'm not too sure about the merging of class .... maybe i'll check with them during her next lesson

Blue,
Thanks. Hopefully everything goes well for me this time round. I'm tired...

Mag,
Not ok yet lei still slowly recovering. My wound still hurt haiz...
Oh dear.. hope Mavis get well soon. U must take care also.

Blue,
long time no "see"...hehe. Real busy at work
sad.gif
i took 3 days childcare leave cos angel is sick that explains why i got time to appear here hehe.Angel will be attending playclub on wed and fri... initially i wanted to put her in the bilingual but her teacher in playnest advise me not to as it will be confusing for her

hi irene,
hope you recover soon.

hi corrine,
hope your Angel gets well fast. Nothing hurts us more than seeing our darlings in pain.

re: Sarah's first day in 1/2 day CC.
It went well thankfully. She isn't used to waking up early, but she didn't fuss. Even the teachers there tot she was calm for a first timer. just hope she keeps it up.

JustMe (highvolt) : That's good news. Keith took 2 weeks to stop crying and kiss me goodbye when i bring him to school the first time.

Blue,
angel is down with flu, cough and eye infection . She need to be on nebuliser for 4 days to clear her phelgm
sad.gif

Justme,
thks for ur concern
happy.gif

florence,
then again, she didn't cry cos, my hubby and myself were around most of the time.
Tomorrow, my hubby will just drop her but I will stay abt 1-2 hours. Hopefully, she'll cooperate.

RE: cherie hearts Kidz' Discovery Ark
So far, we are satisfied with their service. The teachers are warm and very caring towards Sarah and all the kids. Just hope its not just an act! =P

How Sarah reacted to the environment also differs much from the trial session at My First Skool. I think that said much on the level of difference between these 2 CC.

Above is Sarah taking her own sweet time to eat her breakfast. They serve cereal with milk and raisins this morning but daddy didin't want sarah to dirty herself so no milk for her =(
