Hi Alyy,
I have been seeing Dr Tham before i am preggy. He is a very encouraging doc, mi and hubby find his consultations very good and we feel comfortable with him too. Like what dec_gal said, you should go visit him once or twice and find out if you find him comfortable to stick through out the pregnancy or not. Gynea is the most impt person in your pregnancy so be sure that you feel comfortable with him before commiting. Anyway, KKH package only starts in wk 16, so you will have plenty of time to find a suitable gynea if you are not comfy with him.

Hi ladies,
May i seek your opinion about air traveling during the first trimester? mi and hubby planning a trip to Krabi 2 weeks later, which i will be in my wk 10. Currently i do not have any pregnancy complications (e.g. spotting), just abit naesea at times. but still consider manageable.

Any mummies have plans to travel during the first trimester? Or any #2 or #3 mummies have travelled during your first trimester in the past? Let me know your concerns and advice ok?
happy.gif

p/s: The flight is a short 1.5h flight.

MummyYoko
Usually its advisable to travel during 2nd tri, when the baby is more stable. Are u towards the end of ur 1st tri? The best will be to seek ur gynae's consent.

Hi Dec_Gal,MummyYoko and Karen

Thanks for the feedback on Dr Tham.

So Dec-Gal, what u r saying is if the baby requires NICU, or premature delivery, then its worthwhile going to KKH - lower cost and better service. Else the hospital charges will be the same or more ex than pte ones for any normal delivery?

Karen, I am also contemplating Dr Lawrence Ang as alternative. So it's between him and Dr Tham. Dr Ang delivers in TMC and Mt A, which are my choices, but my worry is the need for NICU (touchwood though) and it may then be ex to stay in pte hospital. A qn too is would it be worthwhile taking up the package, since i will only decide on the delivery gynae after my OSCAR results (which means most tests would hv been paid for already), and thus mainly consultation with Dr Ang... Is it better to take the package or pay per visit?

Also I heard that in KKH, hubby is not allowed into the theater for caesarian with epidural or GA, but in TMC and Mt A, the former is allowed. Is this true?

Thanks for the feedback!

moomoo,
Usually the older folks will not encourage housemoving when you're preg. Actually come to think of it, I moved abt 3 weeks ago, which means I was already preg. altho I didn't know. I suppose it should be ok, but people usu. avoid just in case something happens, then they'll blame it on housemoving.

First visit to gynae is abt 6 wks..that's when the heartbeat can be detected.

Mummyyoko,
I went to both HK and Tioman when I last conceived...haha (didn't even know I was preggie then). Usually try not to travel during the 1st trimester as bb might not be stable. It's not likely that anything will happen, but it's just taking precautions. You can check with your gynae. If he's the conservative type, he'll say wait till 2nd trimester. So the decision is up to you. I did travel and nothing happened, then again only becuz I didn't know I was preggie. If I knew, I wouldn't have taken the risk.

Hi all,
went to gynae last friday. BB heart beat ok. Growing well also. But still need to take hormone jab and the hormone tablets. My gynae is Dr. Douglas Ong and he adjusted bb EDD from 9 May to 19 May. This is the same as my first kid. Dr. Ong said to be on the safe side, i still need to see him next week for another scan. Just to play safe. So, if everything goes well, and it this bb wants to come out 3 days earlier than the edd, hehe.. he/she will have the same birthday as the brother.

Tami, Cheezel, Blueblue
Thanks for encouragement. I am ok. Just tired. I think my concentration more on the morning sickness. I vomit every morning and evening. But Dr. Ong said it is good sign to vomit.. But i am tired and especially during working hour.. no place to take a nap. :-(

Sanrio,
My first kid is now 16 months. Hyperactive. Always wants me to read books for him, play with him etc. As i am very tired, so most of the time my hubby will play with him or even my sister in-law when she is around. Last weekend, my boy seems to sensed that i am pregnant and was crying for no reason then keep on calling mama. As i am not feeling well of the MS, i just sit down on the floor and hug him till he feel better. Then i let him play on his own. But i still feed him for his lunch and dinner and read to him when i am ok.

moomoo,
the stall is located @Blk 177 ^_^
I went for my 1st consultation when I'm 5w2d, can only see the water sac, this sat will be my 2nd visit, hopefully can see the heartbeat ah...

Alyy,
for Dr Ang, he will offer the package to u from 12wks, just that,if u sign up with his package, those consultation fees which u have paid before the package, will be offset from the $550. And from my understanding, Dr ang OSCAR test is the cheapest($200) where most Gynae charges $300~$400. As for whether hubby is allow in the room during caesarian with epidural or GA, i'm not too sure, as my 1st is natural birth. :p

lovedogs,
at least u still can eat wor... for me, totally no appetite leh... whatever food i see, i wanna puke...

slee,
your #1 also born in May? my son also wor...
hopefully bb#2 can be same as DS also...

lovedogs,
wow, 3kg.
wink.gif
u really eat a lot.i have put on weight 1.5kg, and I am telling myself to maintain/reduce the food intake as i understand from article that the ideal weight increase for 1st trimester is around 1kg.
for me, i have mild nausea, tired, sleepy, bloating and hungry... that's all.
you should be able to see your small one very well by tomorrow. request dr. to print you photo.
