bbmouse. your maid issue is tricky cause u will be managing two maids next time, i think. or one full time maid and another partime maid.
with 1st maid, she might be able to handle well AA without any other help.
with new maid, u have to really get old maid to come back and help, i think.

I've low EQ also, cause i will tell my boss straight if I am unable to handle. but for unsure cases, i will say i will try my best la.

QQ: Exactly. I also think the old maid will be able to handle both A&amp;A cos she herself is a monther of 2 with similarly close age gap. That's the plus about her.

Tay: Yes you can. I think the other scheme is if you have both elderly and young children at home. This can also justify for 2 maids. There are other cases lah. Didn't go through the policy myself.

re: Maid employment
I tink each ousehold can employ up to 4 maids but there will only be susidised levy up to 2 maid only. And its applied to either household with children under 12, aged above 65 and/or handicapped/bedridden.

Alamak, I totally fogotten abt the Pri 1 registration. Luckily the dates for Lavonne's phase have not passed otherwise she will hv no school to go to. LOL....
 
Mummies, What is the diff between self raised flour and baking flour? Can baking soda and baking flour replace self raised flour?
 
Children custody :

Nowadays.. the court wont grant sole custody to any one of the parents liaoz.. they will only grant JOINT custody and care and control to 1 parent la..

BUT custody is JOINT.. so when go school or wat.. stil need both parents to attend to sign the application papers or wat thing lor..

U can request but u must fight for the SOLE custody of the child and its not cheap to do that..

I tink hor..... Self rising flour is more meant for those dat needs kneading / dry baking like bread, huat kweh..... while Baking flour is meant for all baking needs but it will not rise as much as rising flour and will need yeast.

there is 2 chi cha store lei... I always sit fat man ( starbucks) there so always kenna the same store but i was told the other store which covers the other side is better.... Hmmmmmmm....

How to pack?? Eh... if its last minute, i will ask her go shower and when she comes out, i give her a bag for her wet clothes and her luggage bag and ask her to pack. (Never did this before)

All the other times, the maid knows when her last day is, so we spend at least 2-3 days buying and packing things. I will get boxes from the econ downstairs and tarbao old clothes, shoes, bags or wadever i wanna give her to bring home. She will give me shopping list of wad snacks she wanna buy to distribute and this normally comes to a small box too.
 
ya SQ. i was going to tell u dun tell hb that you bake so many times, later electricity bill went up. but its just one time test, then after that can confirm liao. dun waste flour.
i asked my dad to make his bao(or pao?) last time, steam for 7, 8 9 and 10 min for single bao, then he managed to get his right recipe after one round of DOE (design of experiment). haha!
and i dun do that cause i fire them at one go.
my papa still praised me that i was so smart. but my mum was screamng cause have to spend a long time hogging to her stove.

My old school is in BEDOK! Abit the far even if i move to Pasir Ris.

There is no branded school in my area. Convenience is the priority for me now. As long as the school is not a ah beng ah lian school, has a reasonable % of passing, has good facilities, convenient to my place and travelling is short, I am happy liaoz.

The school i selected is a 5 mins walk only. So Lavonne will hv to get home on time everyday. No hanky panky from her. :p

My SIL is in the process of registering her son. Hmm, basically I also have very limited choices within my area. Rosyth outright told her to not bother, they will never get to our phase.
 
Germ: Self raising flour = flour pre-mixed with leavening agents (baking powder, baking soda or cream of tartar and salt)

Plain flour/ all purpose flour = flour with nothing - so you have to add your own leavening agents.

When I bake, and the recipe calls for plain flour with the leavening agents, usually i just sub for self raising flour cuz I am too lazy to sift the flour. If the recipe requires yeast as the leavening agent, then cannot sub liao.
