should be ok lei... bel also take 1hr to finish her 1bowl of porridge... but this few days, cant even finish half... onli wan to drink soup and water... i give up liao... wasting my ingredient... and wasting her nap time...

she is sleeping now... later 3am don noe will wake up and cry anot... hopefully not... don noe wad wrong with her lei... she will get fed up and hit mi... maybe she don feel comfortable lor... haiz... i don noe wad to do lei.. i can pat her till i fall asleep den she still awake, den she fall on mi den i wake up again and continue to pat..

i think if we have time, then got to check out the timing that tian fusses. she normally still can get good sleeps for 6-7 hours, she fusses within 2 hours after she goes down to sleep, and 2 hours before she wakes up. MOST OF THE TIME.
so if she sleeps from 8pm to 7am, then it would be happening between 8-10pm, and 5-7am.
if its teething, can be anytime.
complicated la, so nevermind la. i also dunno what is happening.

i did not bring her to see bird, there are so many ppl here, i cannot really control. tonight is going to be terrible, cause she went bird chasing...

bbgirl: no.. i am not going ot leave him to my mum.. i will be around.. else why i stay sahm for this one yr??..and get a maid.. and have headaches over this issue?? and must have babysiting experience and such..... i know i sound cold hearted .. but that's a fact leh..my sis also thinks the same way... we will support my mum finacially.. and care for her.. but in terms of the bond.. it is not as strong as u guys towards ur parents......

looks like the girls are taking their own sweet time to eat porridge hor? my boy can SUP almost a full bowl in 20 mins flat. and if you're slightly slower in feeding him, he will 'complain'! today hubby saw the bowl (before feeding) he got a SHOCK! he asked me, 'you mean Yangyang can finish all this porridge!?. hahaaa... my greedy little boy. loves to eat, just like mummy! LOL

Carol: Hungry caterpillar is def good and can't go wrong. Busy spider and lonely firefly are good too.. Then there is quiet cricket, mister seahorse, draw me a star, little cloud, the mixed up chameleon, have u seen my cat etc..

The Dr Suess board books are at the first shelf on the second last or third last row from the bottom. They're kept very neatly (surprise!) and WP has more titles than PP..

Astro: They're all too young still. At this age, we don't even differentiate their toys yet - as in there isn't girls and boys toys yet. They all play together.

Astro: I know what u mean. Yes, even if we're FTWMs, we'll spend quality time with our children. More imptly, we follow closely and care abt their growth and development. We alone play the most impt role in shaping their values and outlook in life. We give instructions to the caregiver and ask for feedback of the child. We encourage and listen to them and will always be around when they want us to, even if this means putting work/career in second place. We know in our hearts of hearts that the children is our first priority and nothing else comes even close to this.

ask you since you seem to be the expert here. heh. which is better - very little library or my first library? mommy here dont know which is better to buy...

*Astro - abt 3/4 adult rice bowl. almost full if it's the disney baby bowl.
i use 1 tbsp rice + (broccoli+carrot+sweet potato
+onion frozen stock) and add 1/5 box organic tofu. Nutritious leh.2?
 
bbgirl: abt there.. but must add that .. can still have work/career as first place too.. but remember the responsibilty towards own children.. and not using any other convenient excuses to just dump the children to any avaiable help.. y.a. that's abt it..

Veryberry: Yes it is. You can get just the book without the plush. Get Very Little Library. My First Library has 4 books with titles such as First Words, Shapes, Numbers etc - which I think can be better taught using flash cards. And I don't like the way the pages are split into 2 and you have to match the top with the bottom half.
Very Little Library has 3 books - Very Hungry Caterpillar, Very Busy Spider and Very Lonely Firefly.

think My First library is better when kids are older.. when they can match ..words to the pics.. or predict and guess the pattern.. right now bbs these age.. cannot.. not worth to get my first library..

get the very little library for the pics.. and story line.. for the use of repetition in the books.. to allow them to learn and predict. using cause and effect.. fits better with their cognitive development (According to piaget) at this age..

*ASTRO - yes, forgot to say. every porridge dish is FISH porridge. has been threadfin for many weeks. only tried cod once. find it way too oily for bb, althou it's all good oil.

*PAX - your method to slice the fish / meat while still frozen is great! every morning at 7am this mommy is slicing ice.. heh. every weekend i buy threadfin from NTUC, come home cut into 5 portions put into indiv mini containers, every morning slice them into strips for the porridge before i head off to work.

recently i found another 'short-cut' for busy mummies. i boil vege+meat stock on sundays, bought a few ice-strays (with cover), freeze the stock (with ALL the vege 'zha'). so that every morning, i just throw the ice-cubes + fish + tofu into the slow-cooker. dont even have to watch fire. time reqd cut down to 20 mins only! WAHAHA...

*BB girl - got! got meat! only this mommy forgot to mention. it's fish most of the time. from last week i started adding tofu for added protein. i find pork/chx sort of meat a hassle to prepare. but i do throw in some pork slices when i cook the stock.
 
astro. yalor mostly over stimulated la. anyway, if I put her besides me and sleep, then normally can sleep through.. so + the anxiety without mama lor.. anyway.. lets see.. she hyper everyday now. once she wakes up, dun want me already. only milk + sleep then look for mama. she saw my counsins then like kena lottery and screamed liao xiao zha bor.

Yvonne: I see.. Don't think it's all to do with what ingredients u add leh, cos we all add a lot of stuff into their porridge. It's just her appetite. Don't stress yourself up. Just vary them here and there.. And can't give her her fave food all the time. Cos this way you're reinforcing her to become picky over food.. Let her get used to liking certain foods and able to take everything.

QQ - it's so fun you get to bring tt to kampung. i remem the days i run around in my grandma's ma-lai-pang (cantonese for malay kampung house) in malacca every holiday... miss her. thinking of driving up with BB next weekend cos YY has not met his great-grandmother yet. just worried abt the trip up. any tips pls share.

wah, yvonne! you: double boil the rice first, den put the veg half hr before she need to eat, den steam the fish seperately...

last time i just boil the rice in water, added the grated carrots/cut vege, then add fish, then transfer to slow-cooker. now i just throw every thing into the slow-cooker at one go (since i'm using frozen-cube-stock.

i dont even steam the fish separately leh. is it you worry that the porridge to fishy? haha... my boy doesnt care! now he eats neater. when he first started, he ate messier and smelt fishy all over - those days were funny.

dont worry too much la. my younger sister also didnt eat a lot when she was young and ate v slow some more. now everything's fine and well.

Maybe also belbel self-adjusting her weight. so dont worry too much ba. just hv patience with her.
 
Yvonne: These are dried food right? Put into air-tight containers should be fine. If kia-su, put in air-tight containers and then put the containers inside the fridge.

QQ: rae also hve this fussy period but its usually right after she fall asleep.. its a 3 hrs window which she can fuss and wake up nuermous time. its between 8:30 to 11:30pm. She can wake up like every 30mins to 45 mins. I also dunno why. Think someone (was it baby girl) who mentioned that it takes a while for baby to fall asleep properly thus the fussing??
