starfruit: in terms of sun sign astrology (sun in virgo and sun in sagi).. this combi --death combi :p:p.. haha. coz sagi way too freedom loving for virgo who can be quite stuck in a rut sometimes..

having said that hor. one person's astrogloy chart is not just comprised of the sun alone. got other signs which forms a bigger pic of how the person is like.. then still got family background , upbringing.. etc. so can't use to pigeonhole pple but can be a rough guide as to how that person think , feel and react..normally quite true from what i observed.. sun signs astrology not very detailed.. :p

for eg hor. me sun in piscean. supposed to be sensitive, dreamy, helpful, elusive.--all TRUE,, but pisceans sun should shy away, not aggressive, dun like to lead etc--not true for me.. coz the planet in Mars dictate how we act, how we lose our temper and how to love.. and for Astro's her mar is in LEO!!! hahaa.. so that's why astro so drama lor. unlike the shy and modest piscean lah..

so a person character = sun + moon+ mars+venus+rising sign... chim? :p

for a free consulatation on ur personalised astrological makeup and compatibility with ur sprouse.. call 1800 - ASTRO. .. hahaha

sorry autum, was away just now. yvonne answered yr qn

if EJ likes music, i think he will love kinder, coz it applies to anthea. personally i like singing and movements sessions too.. coz babies can look at the teacher and babies and imitate them. go for the trial class and let EJ have fun!

mejo, astro, oh.. so now its ok to be superglue eh? coz i tot cannot give in to her too much mah... must discipline arbo next time she yao4 feng1 de2 feng1, yao4 yu3 de2 yu.. ok ok... will sayang her more.. i also heartpain to see her cry..

just now was reading Young Parents. one of the article says dun force our babies to crawl or walk if they are not ready. i must remind myself this.
happy.gif

star: wah biang. ur sagi man wun irritated by u meh? :p.. and my virgo man hor likes all these kind of 'fan' one lei. he likes it when i called him up and nagged at him to come home.. says he feels cared for wor.. even though my tone is always harsh and naggy.. ehhh.. siao liao he.. dun tell me u also like this ah? .. me.. dun nag at me.. i will come home myself one :p

edde: that young parents.. got say antyhnig abt manipulative bbs who dun want to stand/sit up from lying??

star: ehh. do ur sagi man like learning new things also ah? like u like to read up things/info.. and accquire knowledge.. does ur sagi man appreciate this in u? :p

astro: i bo chup one lah.. hehe.. of cos i dun flood his phone with SMS (not my style :p) just call him a few times lor, anyway if he bz, he will say he can't tok. But i think, yes, sometimes, i can irritate him..haha but dun forget he irritates me too!!!
My hubby's character is not the kind of free spirit that sagi is suppose to be.. maybe thats why him and me not death combi..hehe. but sometimes, i can be quite paranoid like when we go out, he likes to wonder off w/o telling me (he thinks its no big deal, dun have to inform one cos still at the same place but maybe just next door or sowmwhere around the same level mah) and there i am thinking he is just right beside me but instead have wondered off and when i dun see him, I am like a crazy woman, looking around for him and getting worried. Usually when i find him, he will get an earful from me. I quite particular abt this (must inform or at lest let me know if he he wants to wonder off to look at other stuff). gues this is the virgo trait in me and the "free spirit" sagi trait in him lor!

astro, ok some excerpts from the article..

"... your infant doesn't need to be taught how to walk - it will come naturaly when she is at the suitable level of maturity."

"What matters is that the other signs of positive movement progress are there, such as her trying to crawl, kicking her legs while lying in her cot, pulling herself to a standing position, and reaching for her toys."

-- Dec 2007 YP Pg. 120

star: ya.. not virgo style to flood pple with sms.. ..heehee.. i thinkthere's a diif between the gender also lei. the same horoscope.. wah biang.. if i call a few times.. he sure black face come home.. ask me why i keep distubring him at work ah..! then i say.. "starfruit teach me one " :p:p

sorry to flood the page. but i think this article is very relevant to today's topic. actually i have posted the link to it before but maybe u guys missed it. i hope it does wonders to u guys as much as it has to me

My love, I cannot live without you

French philosopher Andre Gorz wrote his terminally ill wife a moving
letter before their joint suicide last month. Here we publish it in
Britain for the first time

The joint suicide of Andr Gorz, the French philosopher and founder
of the magazine Le Nouvel Observateur, and his British-born wife
Dorine, who was suffering from a fatal disease, has turned the love
letter that he wrote to her into a surprise bestseller.

Gorz, 84, a friend of Jean-Paul Sartre, and Dorine, 83, committed
suicide by lethal injection at their home in the village of Vosnon,
east of Paris, on September 22. Two days later a friend found them
lying side-by-side in their bedroom.

Gorz's 75-page Lettre D. Histoire d'un Amour (Letter to D. Story
of a Love), published a year earlier, was a tribute to his wife. One
French critic described the work, which won him a wider audience
than his essays on ecology and anti-capitalism, as his "intellectual
and emotional testament".

The couple met by chance at a card game in 1947 and married in
1949. "You will soon be 82. You have shrunk six centimetres and you
weigh just 45 kilos and you are still beautiful, gracious and
desirable," the book starts. "It is now 58 years that we have lived
together and I love you more than ever."

Gorz goes on to describe finding out in 1973 that Dorine, who
managed foreign rights for the publisher Galile, suffered from an
incurable condition caused by the contrast agent lipiodol that was
used for x-rays before a back operation that she underwent in 1965.
Traces of the agent reached her skull and led to cysts in her
cervix, painfully pressuring her nerves.

Two years later the couple learnt that she also suffered from
another illness:

`I took a photo of you, from behind: you are walking with your feet
in the water on the beach of La Jolla. You are 52. You are amazing.
It's one of the images of you that I like best.

I looked at that photo for a long while after we got back home, when
you told me you wondered if you didn't have some sort of cancer.
You'd already wondered that before we left for the United States but
hadn't wanted to say anything to me. Why not? `If I have to die, I
wanted to see California beforehand,' you told me calmly.

Your endometrial cancer hadn't been picked up in your annual
checkup. Once the diagnosis was made and the date of the operation
set, we went to spend a week in the house you'd designed. I carved
your name in the stone with a chisel. That house was magic. All the
spaces had a trapezoidal shape. The bedroom windows looked out over
the treetops.

The first night, we didn't sleep. We were both listening to each
other breathing. Then a nightingale started singing and a second
one, further away, started answering. We said very little to each
other. I spent the day digging and looked up from time to time at
the bedroom window. You were standing there, motionless, staring
into the distance. I am sure you were practising taming death in
order to fight it without fear. You were so beautiful and so
determined in your silence that I couldn't imagine you giving up
living.

I took time off from Le Nouvel Observateur and shared your room at
the clinic. The first night, through the open window, I heard all of
Schubert's Ninth Symphony. It is etched in me, every note. I
remember every moment spent at the clinic. Pierre, our doctor friend
from the CNRS (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique), who
came to hear your latest news every morning, said to me: `You are
going through moments of exceptional intensity. You'll remember this
always.' I wanted to know what chances the oncol-ogist gave you of
surviving five years. Pierre brought me the answer: `50-50.'

When you came out of the clinic we went back to our house. Your
spirit thrilled me and reassured me. You'd escaped death and life
took on a new meaning and a new value. A friend immediately
understood this when you saw him at a party. He stared into your
eyes for a long time and he said to you: `You've seen the other
side.' I don't know how you responded or what else you said. But
these are the words he said to me, straight afterwards: `Those eyes!
Now I understand what she means to you.'

You had seen `the other side'; you'd come back from the land no one
comes back from. This changed your perspective. We made the same
resolution without consulting each other. An English Romantic once
summed it up in a sentence: `There is no wealth but life.'

During the months you were convalescing, I decided to take my
retirement at 60. I started counting the weeks till I could pack up.
I took pleasure in cooking, in tracking down organic produce that
would help you get your strength back, in ordering the specially
tailored medications that a homeopath had recommended you take.

Ecology became a way of life and a daily practice without ceasing to
imply the requirement of a completely different civilisation. I'd
reached the age where you ask yourself what you've done with your
life, what you would like to have done with it. I had the impression
of not having lived my life, of having always observed it at a
distance, of having developed only one side of myself and being poor
as a person. You were, and always had been, richer than I was. You'd
blossomed and grown in every dimension. You were at home in your
life; whereas I'd always been in a hurry to move on to the next
task, as though our life would only really begin later.

I asked myself what was the inessential that I needed to give up in
order to concentrate on the essential. I told myself that, to grasp
the reach of the upheavals that were looming in every domain, there
had to be more space and time for reflection than the full-time
exercise of my profession as a journalist allowed.

I was amazed that my leaving the journal, after 20 years of
collaboration, was neither painful to myself nor to others. I
remember having written that, at the end of the day, only one thing
was essential to me: to be with you. I can't imagine continuing to
write, if you no longer are. You are the essential without which all
the rest, no matter how important it seems to me when you are there,
loses its meaning and its importance. I told you that in the
dedication of my last work.

Twenty-three years have gone by since we went off to live in the
country, first in `your' house, which radiated a sense of meditative
harmony. A harmony we enjoyed for only three years. They started
building a nuclear power station nearby and that drove us away. We
found another house, very old, cool in summer, warm in winter, with
huge grounds. It was a place where you could be happy.

Where there was only a meadow you created a garden of hedges and
shrubs. I planted 200 trees there. For a few years we still did a
bit of travelling; but all the vibrating and jolting around involved
in any means of transport, no matter what, triggers headaches and
pain through your whole body. Arach-noiditis has forced you, little
by little, to abandon most of your favourite activities. You hide
your suffering. Our friends think you're `in great shape'. You've
never stopped encouraging me to write. Over the 23 years we've spent
in our house, I've published six books and hundreds of articles and
interviews.

We've had dozens of visitors from every corner of the globe and I've
given dozens of interviews. I surely have not lived up to the
resolution made 30 years ago: to live completely at home in the
present, mindful above all of the richness that is our shared life.
I'm now reliving the instants when I made that resolution with a
sense of urgency. I don't have any major work in the pipeline. I
don't want `to put off living till later' - in Georges Bataille's
phrase any longer.

I am as mindful of your presence now as in the early days and would
like to make you feel that. You've given me all of your life and all
of you; I'd like to be able to give you all of me in the time we
have left.

You've just turned 82. You are still beautiful, graceful and
desirable. We've lived together now for 58 years and I love you more
than ever. Lately I've fallen in love with you all over again and I
once more carry inside me a gnawing emptiness that can only be
filled by your body snuggled up against mine.

At night I sometimes see the figure of a man, on an empty road in a
deserted landscape, walking behind a hearse. I am that man. It's you
the hearse is carrying away. I don't want to be there for your
cremation; I don't want to be given an urn with your ashes in it. I
hear the voice of Kathleen Ferrier singing, `Die Welt ist leer, Ich
will nicht leben mehr' and I wake up. I check your breathing, my
hand brushes over you.

Each of us would like not to survive the other's death. We've often
said to ourselves that if, by some miracle, we were to have a second
life, we'd like to spend it together. '

edde: ehh. out of the four positive moment progress ah.. teng only have 2 leh.. the second and the last! . .sigh. see lah. this boy hor. pulling himself to stand also not interested. miser still say when he is really to walk. will pull himself to stand one.. hmmmm..

level 2 encourages more crawling right?.. hmm can she 'walk' if hold ur hands? if can. actually can go level 3 liao. teng went level three though he can't crawl. coz he 'mayors' and also because he overage to be in level 2.. hmmm.*sigh*

Astro: i think if he can help it (non technical stuff) most of them time, he leave it to me to do research..and yes i think he is appreciative of the time and effort i spent cos i can get quite detailed... esp when we plan for our travel trips.. wha i can be so obessed, researching and reading up and print tons of paper, so when we are there, i let him take over, (i learn to let go lor so got balance mah, if not very siong for me to do everything) he will read my notes and he will decide what we do first there and how we do it. Guess we make a great team. But sumtimes, my hubby can take me for granted, like he knows i can read map and navigate very well, now he dun even borther to read evevn the road signs, just depend 100% on me.. he just drive and wait for my instructions *sigh* i alwasy ask him how he navigate if i am not in teh car with him, he say when i am not around, he will figure it out. *sigh*
He can be quite shy but i made him take up basic ballroom dancing with me when we were living overseas.. i missed it so much, wanna go back and learn ballroom again. I told him that he is my only dance partner in this lifetime.. so rou2 ma2 right..heheh

edde: The class looks fun. I am doing mine this sunday.

edde: i was refreshing the page. when i saw the super long post.. i thought who is challenging me to the throne of posting super long posts in this forum.. haha.. saw this letter before when u posted. hmm original in french huh? "Histoire d'un Amour";;The history of a lover..aiya. french philopsoer.. wah biang.. what am i talking abt??

astro, she cant "walk" yet. she is a scardy cat, stays still at one spot and dun dare to move a millimeter.

star: u know ballroom dancing?!!!! damm stylo leh!! coz i got hooked on watching (only, not the actul dancing) when i watched the ballroom bootcamp (ehh. forgot the name liao) on scv!!.. i think very nice lei.. so stylo.. yalor. virgo does all the planning mah. pisceans like carefee sagi. just anyhow tag along lah..heehee. now u know who does all the planning right when holidaying aboard? :p

ehh. does all virgos comes with an inate (good) direction sense.. and all pisceans hopeless with directions ah ?:p:p..

whey. not rou ma leh. i think very romantic leh. just imagine hah,. waltzing through the room, just two of u, lockd in embrace, eyes on one another, no one else.. SO ROMANTIC!!!

alamak. but my virgo not like u. he too shy. perform in orchestra with me.. he still can make it.. dance. pls.. he as bad in cooridnation as me ah! :p

star: ya. told the lady. (Shoundl't be same lady lah :p).. the lady at MS same thing also. but she told me teng 10 mths liao (sigh).. then can walk with support.. ok if dun crawl go level 3 lor..

edde: think anthea lacks confidence lei.. while teng too lazy. think both of them must have candlelight dinner at playgym more often..

star: really very romantic leh what u told ur hb.. ehh. what can i tell miser ah?? hmm.. he's the only man i will ever quarrel with?? ehh. doens't sound quite right...he's the only man i will lose my temper at.. also not true.. chiam.. nothing 'he's the only man' liao leh. except *ahem*.. but ehh. not romantic leh.. :p:p

ahhh!! i got it! he's the only man who i would star-gaze with!!! hahahaa.. Phew.. at least something :p

star, i din use any coupon coz i dun hv the journal from NLB. there were 6 babies including anthea, so both parents cld join the class (i was told if more than 6 babies then only 1 parent). update us on rae's class on sun!

astro, u r rite, she has zero confidence. dunno how to encourage her on that. leave her alone, she cries, when i hold her fingers and try to lead her forward, she glues to the floor. hm...

Astro: Ya i know ballroom bootcamp..hehe
and did u atch the movie (Shall we dance, richard Gere and Jennifer Lopez)
Hey, me no expert in dancing just an amature, just very basic only, its a very good sport/workout for both of us, not diff to pick up too. I think its very nice and i feel that it is an activity which u and hubby can enjoy for a long time even till old..hehehe wanna consider?
Tell miser he is ur only dance partner in this lifetime and he cannot deny u this chance to learn dancing just becos he is shy and not keen lah (this sentence usually work)..heheh
I pester my hubby for a long time cos he was not keen initially, we even went to a trial class.. i think he is shy to dance but after we signed up for the class, we enjoyed it tremendously. I think he missed it as much as me now. i think i must seriously consider going back to learn dancing.

i think pax's sense of direction is quite good too.. but must get confirmation from her. Must also ask audrey. any more virgos around?

edde: confidence can encourage.. its quite sweet how Anthea sticks to u. just encourage her a bit more i am sure she will overcome it soon. Nice for ger ger to be a bit shy right..hehe
happy.gif

hey edde
anthea looks really cute playing the bubbles! love her dresses! nope i cant see any thinning hair parting!

astro
yeh bingo! my hubby is a free spirit type. he's pretty competitive, doesnt want to fail, knows wat he wants, can be a very good saleperson but cannot be sweet talker to wife, how contradicting. He doesnt restrict me in doing anything i like, as long as i dun pull him into it. so when he's out wif his frens, i dun disturb him and neither does he. i seldom sms him or call him cos he doesnt like to be disturb at work. i should say he's a traditional MCP man..

ok as for the book, i have yet to finish reading it. it categorises love into 3 types:
he terms it:

Limerence - the initial stage where all the sparks and romance are at the peak

Loving attachment - stage where couple start to learn about each other's strength and weaknesses, tackle complexitities together. need to be fed or it will wither and die to become the next stage

affectionate regard - care for a person, want the best for them, not to hurt them but the person's destiny does not feel interwined with ours.

lemme go read up the rest...kekeke

edde: that was my hubby's comment too when i first suggested.. but trust me, u all have to try, ur hubby will learn to enjoy. Its really a lot of fun. We laugh and giggle so much during the class (cos both clumsy and a bit stiff mah), like back to pak tor days. And its good work out too!

star: miser has this wrong impression that ballroom dancing is flamboyent..ehh.. actually it is. i like it for its flamboyency! :p:p.. then he very modest and reserved one.. dun like to 'show off'.. and hmmm come to think of it ah. i 'taller' than him when standing next to him..if u gauge our shoulders ah.. way 'taller' leh. like that how to dance? so funny right? ..i never watch that movie before leh. nice?

yalor. i think balloon dancing very siong leh. good to trim figure..:p that xiao S also ballroom dance untill perky butt and shahpy waist mah! :p.. hmm can u shake ur butt like them ah?? when do the latin dances? :p i want to see leh. show me?! whahaha

miser WUN even go for trial class lei.. i mean u see him lah. 'nerdy woody' kind.. he just dosn't fit into the flamboyent nature of ballroom dancing leh..

if i tell him that sentence.. he would tell me go swimming with him instead!
sad.gif
.. aiya. i will chose the lazy taxing one lah. star gazing!! so romantic right? lie on a mat on an insolated beach.. billion of stars twinkling in front of u .. the cool breeze blowing.. SO romantic.. i want to go back to pulau pangkor again! :p he taught me how to identify the constellations one.. so i guesss this one also considered romantic lah.. :p

star, how to encourage huh? she sticks to hubby more... macham magnets.. see him only will pu1 xiang4 ta1, and when i try to carry her from my hubby she will shove my hands away and "scold" me Y&*^$%#$&^$(

pink, that dress is from ON, one of our ON sprees heehee... aiyoh my hair is dropping a lot lor.. so much that i am starting to worry... my parting getting wider... cham..

Talking abt ppl to ppl relation and abt not taking ur love ones for granted,
i lifted this from this blog: blog.http://littleguykitchen.wordpress.com/

I was sitting on a beach one summer day, watching two children, a boy and a girl, playing in the sand. They were hard at work building an elaborate sandcastle by the waters edge, with gates and towers and moats and internal passages.

Just when they had nearly finished their project, a big wave came along and knocked it down, reducing it to a heap of wet sand. I expected the children to burst into tears, devastated by what had happened to all their hard work. But they surprised me. Instead, they ran up the shore away from the water, laughing and holding hands, and sat down to build another castle. I realized that they had taught me an important lesson.

All the things in our lives, all the complicated structures we spent so much time and energy creating, are built on sand. Only our relationships to other people endure. Sooner or later, the wave will come along and knock down what we have worked so hard to build up. When that happens, only the person who has somebodys hand to hold will be able to laugh.

star, i will learn one day. now with anthea even more impossible.. but i will learn.. one day.. i like ballroom dancing, and i love to watch pple ballroom dacing.. nice..

nice story star, thx for sharing.. i believe every word in it
happy.gif
and i think its a gd teaching pt too, teach our kids to luff any unhappiness off and move on, be positive.

pink: and the 'problem' here is.. Libra likes being sweet talked at.. right? :p

wah. ur hb and star's hb same signs one :p and juding from ur description. maybe ur man as some aries/leo in him also..he gives u freedom. cause he wants freedom himself mah
happy.gif

this book seems just my kind.. haha

edde: ur man. virgo ah? nerd nerd woody woody kind? :p..

star: i think all virgo's sense of direction not bad.. or at the very least not as bad as pisceans lah.. :p.. audrey should be good lah. she likes shopping so much. if always get lost and cannot grab the best priced piece. how can? :p:p

edde
use lots of hair conditioner, so at least it does fall off that much when u are washing your hair.

starfruit
your hubby also has the hao hao xian shen look.

edde: slowly lor. u have to be more patient with her too lah, no more boot camp training for her (i thinks she can sense it with u lor). These gymbo classes are a good start, cos u and her can participate together and do fun stuff. Do more fun activities together. It will def improve over time
happy.gif

astro, my hubby nerd nerd woody woody boring boring.. but he is not a virgo, he is libran, like me. both libran, gd or not eh?

star: wah.. cool story lei..philosopical also.. i like . i am imagining that i am that little girl.. and miser be that 'little old' guy..
happy.gif
so romantic.. chiam.. there i go again! :p

edde: u still got chacne..pls go use this story to teach those brats :)P) to also appreciate pple more hor. dun be so ego and think their own problems is the most problematic other pple's problems are peanuts.... got it? :p

pink, i am so desperate i bought phyto shampoo on sun. haha... but i din buy for hair loss one, i bought volumising one for my limpy hair. i started to apply hair tonic also... before i become di4 zhong1 hai3!

star, u r rite, i think she can sense that i am forcing her, dats why that day at gymboree she cried and cried. see the bubble photo her eyes zhong3 zhong3, coz she has been crying before dat..

astro, yes i always use this kind of story to share values in class... but most students catch no ball. duh.

edde: interesting.. how come libra also nerdy nerdy woody woody ah? ha! i think he bound to have some virgo in him. haha.. astro so mean ah. must insists all men like miser nerdy nerdy woody woody (NNWW) :p

hmm.. both libra also good. but it depends lah. coz one needs to be more aggresive.. can't be everyday talk talk and wine and dine. who settle the housebills.. who does cleaning ah? :p libra are very rational, likes to think a lot. can be indecisive.. ehh. the two of u.. have problems deciding where to eat or not ah? :p

i alway thought that u tarus leh edde.. hmmm hee :p

astro: u can quite the romantic hor..hehe
happy.gif
. aiya, height diff also can dance lah. my hubby also not that much taller, infact, i think we both abt same height but sumtimes i can be taller aftre i put on my dancing heels..hehe . can one lah.
Take up traditional ballroom like waltz, tango and cha cha etc, dun do the samba, salsa which are more flamboyant lor

Edde:u keen too, maybe we should org a class for us here. so fun..hehe

edde: they very dumb lah.. the other time i tried to use the concept of the Universe.. and how minute humans actually are.. to teach them not to be so ego.. they look at me. all lost.. i was like "u all understand. how small we are? how small the earth is compared to the galaxy and how small the galaxy is to the Universe???".. so dramam mamaa.. they nod and said :" Ya, MDm Tan.. so?? " i almost fainted..

astro, why me taurus? stubborn? hehe.. erm... he is the rationale and pragmatic one, i am the idealistic and think too much one. virgo is before libra eh? his BD is beginnig of oct.

star, must wait until our babies grow up wor.. haha.. arbo both daddy and mummy dancing who jagar baby ?? hee..

star: i got libra and piscean signs leh. both hopeless romantics one.. chiam right? ok lah. miser not phsyically romantic.. can't pleased my librian side.. at least still romantic in terms of ideals lah. pleases my piscean.. else wun even look at him! heehee..

whey. how high ur dancing heels? .. :p ialready so tall.. wear dancing heels mai become troll?! eeee. not graceful at all! ASTRO CANNOT DANCE!

i like the waltz and tango.. in fact i once set an english compre passage on the history of tango.. seductive origins.. haha. got censored so much by my english HOD.. hahaha

edde: see, u know whats the problem liao. I think u just need to relax a bit more when it comes to her, anthea is one smart cookie, thats why she can sense it. And when u go for these classes, u have to relax too, just have fun, dun stress if she is not keen on any of the activity or can't catch up, just laugh and have fun. And i think very soon, anthea will surprise u with her develpoment.

MDM TAN ??? why MDM ?? i hate to be called MDM, macham so old.. haha... luckily i am chinese teacher, so students call me X Lao Shi.. no MDM !!!

edde: yalor. that time u said u stubobrn..so i straight away equate u taurusliao.. haha. nvm analyse too much also heehee.. :p

ya.. virgo before libra.. begining of oct is still libra..so ah.. like that will have problems deciding where to eat or not ah? :p

edde: u must understand coz.. miser has a very interesting surname.. his surname is kong.. so i dun want to be call MRs Kong. wait students call me king kong.. then also dun want students called me MRs Kong-tan (gong tan).. so ah.. i think best still stick with mdm tan lah :p
