haha! i let tian try strawcup just now. she din know its a straw. anyway. i took out a pack of packet drink (carrot juice) then i drink from it. she interested. ok lor. I give her to try with that packet drink.. i told sil: aiya, she cannot one la, if she can suck out the juice then i will let her drink...
Tian won liao! she sucked really hard (1st time saw her so goot lat and all juices came out. she was so excited and tried again. she got it again.. ok! then i pass her magmagcup. she just turned away and bochap me liao.

star, then i came in but i saw your juice box post after that.

haha! quite happy la, but then she still dun like the mag mag cup. they should have designed the cups in juice boxes style... sigh!
today i must sleep early cause not enough sleeps these days..

Astro.. u rest well... have to really work hard these few days, but teng will recover. don't worry. tian was also dehydrated for more than dunno how many hours before we realised it. (15 hours no milk, no water, no urine).

i wonder how is xing-ma today..
 


RE: straw cup

Huh?!? My ger dun even usually drink from sippy cup! So far, most of the time she only using milk bottle or spoonfeed during solids time...
 
mejo: my boi oso dun like sippy cup. will only wan to lick the handles. but sometimes we pour water into the cover of milk bottles to let him drink
 
carol, mejo, same here lor. but i already got the cup standby la. still dun use since there are many other things that i need to do.. then today hiao la, motivated by edde pax and star liao, then tried... quite interesting. but hor i doubt that she knows how to use straw cause its just one time thing so far.

you must get well soon (both mentally and physically). cos i'm waiting for you to start/continue our intellectual discussions. about GF zzz techniques. haha....

Oh, and my ger has been vomitting today but no fever nothing else. Can vomitting be caused by teething? I think we discussed this before but I can't remember...

QQ: er i think tian smart.. hehe what u should so is:
1) fill the magmag with carot juice
2) u drink from her magmag and show her..

I think with the above, she will be interested in her MagMag.. seriously i tink the mag mag straw very stiff leh. Me happy, Rae sipped up about 100ml of water thru her straw cup today.. so much more as compared to her magmag sprout. She better drink more water cos she constripated again!!!!!

QQ: BTW: What colour i sthe magmag u got for Tian? U should doubt that Tian dunno how to use the straw. Tian very smart.. heheh i think she might actually know leh. U wanna test again tomorrow. BTW: u not working today ah?

Hey why YT throws up so often?? Better becareful, dun let it become a habit for her leh. Isit something in her diet that is causing it??
 
SQ: no wonder.. there was this santa claus walkinga round handing out candies..and they were serving frizzy fruit drinks as well (it tasted a bit alcoholic)i dun think its champagne hor.

Pink: The Heart T is so cute..but i dun think i am squeeze in leh, cos the model look so thin and its a free size right??!!

Think from young she got reflux problem... so yar, I'm quite used to her throwing up (esp in the first half year of her life). But she has been getting better lar, only today kept wanting to vomit and then vomitting. Dunno whether is due to teething or not feeling well. She have runny nose on Mon also but by Tue cleared up le.
 
SQ: ya the store was closed at 6:00pm when i went yesterday, i tot they were closing for their annual D&D then i asked the security at the door, he say they will reopen at 6:30pm for the card member sale.. it was then tat i found out, I was telling hubby lucky i ask, if not, we were thinking of heading hm liao cos we tot close mah. Apparently they closed at 6pm so that they can put up all the discount tags/info around the store and reopen at 6:30pm. Very good deal leh if u can make it at that time.

you take good care of yourself okay...Teng needs you now.... dun think too much abt the straw thingy, let teng gets well first.... actually i also sit down and feed my boy water, but not 120ml lah, abt 40ml each time.... and split into a few times.... dun wanna stress myself and my boy lah. understand how you feel on sitting down to feed water and the desperate-ness to intro straw... but sometimes i guess timing is crucial also.

now our bbs have reach the age when it's quite common to fall sick. and my hubby reminds me that this will only be more and more frequent when they go to childcare or activities to interact with other children
 
SQ: she has been on peach, pear and fresh apple this week..and my homemade yogurt and .. and then still constipated.. sian and i cannot find peaches liao. I think i will give her papaya and plums(traz say also good for constipation) and She is DEFINITELY going vegetarian tomorrow. Must make her at a big bowl of steam broccoli!!

my mil gave papaya and pear, in 2 feedings... then my boy will poo. then everyday i will try to feed him water before i go to water abt 40ml, when i come back another 40ml... then my mil try to feed him water during mealtime also.... on avg, my boy will poo almost everyday now lah, bit by bit loh...
 
star, my magmag is ORANGE in colour. should be more appetizing. but the stupid straw is green colour la. one day i try to drink from mag mag then she will also follow. hopefully. i think she is sick of magmag. i give it to her everyday, hope that she can drink water from the spout. so far, not very successful. on & off oni.

mist, i tried to give her once 2 weeks ago. (mag mag) then she oni bite the straw. Anyway, i think she is only interestd in adult's stuff.

mejo, tian also threw out in her 1st 7 months.. until like super drama rama. we were used to it liao. now if she wuack a bit we also dun feel it.
shopping again ah??
 
forgot to add, my porridge always got vege one, carrot, broccoli, garden peas or spinach... usually spinach will be given fresh loh, the rest are prepared in adv and keep in baby cubes. hey, buy those mini papaya, quite effective than the big ones... according to my mil lah. :p
 
mist: my PD say she is just more prone to constipation.. so i have to be very careful of her diet. Infact, i have stop her rice cereal, she is only taking barley cereal now. and the occasional porridge.

SQ: Have u tried the homemade yogurt recipe yet?

my boy just bite on the sprout of the mag mag cup... he probably thinks its teether... me not feeling well these days, so dare not "demo" for him to see... hahaha...

yeah, my boy also interested in my food, i gave him eat my wholemeal bread this morning and he's munching it happily. hehehe... good leh, sometimes i can prepare bread for him to eat!!
 
mist: my porridge also a lot of veggie ..in fact 3/4 of my porridge is veggie and only 1/4 is the rice.. pumpkin, carrots, potatoes, xiao bai cai, peas, zucchini, broccoli (alwasy a lot) and not forgetting the spinach..mine all fresh lah and still constipated/... *sian* but lets not talk about her constipation liao lah..boring subject.
 
actually i have a theory here.. an advice given by a fren..

my fren;s son was about 8 months old then. he was perfectly ok in his 1st 6 months. After 6th months, he was fed semi solid then followed by solid. he was placed in an infant care.
From his 6th-8th month, he fell sick every now and then, like almost every week.. be it big or small sickness..
with Dr's med, recover liao then come back again. ppl suspected that its the IC... virus spreaded from bb to bb, caregivers, etc etc.

Happen that my fren brought his son to a senseh who was already 80-90 years old. This senseh ask them to stop solid food. just give milk for a few weeks and see.. surprisingly, no more sickness for at least 1 month... then when they started solid, it came back again.

So?? senseh's theory:
some bb is not ready for solid even when they are 6, 7, or 8 months old. with solid food, their stomach might need a big effort to adjust to the new food, etc, thus making the whole body weaker. when body is weak, easier to be infected.. some might need a much longer time to adjust to a new food.. etc etc

So.. i dunno what i am talking about, but i might be kicked/ah bished by some of you..
however, i still believe that this sinseh might be right...
 
oh. star.. too much fibre also cause constipation leh. u give so much vege ah.
anyway, i give 1/3 vege, then carbo etc etc.. tian also got hard stools.. sigh! 2 days no poo liao, then today finally gek a bit. quite hard. sil said she used water spray to clean the potty and the stool still remain in shape despite the strong power of spray.
 
QQ: Broccoli is the best cos soluble fibre. I also pack her meals with lots of fruits but seriously i tink its cos she dun drink enuff water. So far this is her 3rd constipation episode liao leh since she first constipated 3 weeks ago! I dunno lah, i read up so much on constipation since..and trying to give her the correct diet and since still cannot, i think maybe somewhere sumthing is wrong.. my main suspect is still lack of water.

but if give solids too late the bb will reject leh. my nephews (x2) refuse to eat porridge their entire life. so they fed on milk and cereal and junk food oni. from young till now never need to cook porridge for them wan

star yes water is always the main culprit.
i give barley water to tian also.. hope to clear her bowel a bit. very cham for them.
maybe offer her more water more frequently... one time drink 100ml is an achievement liao. but for constipation, maybe 10 times of 10ml might be more effective than one time 100ml.. i guess so la, but not very sure though.
going to oi oi soon.
hopefully can have a peaceful nite tonight. these few days dunno why she kept waking up and fussed.

Rae loves yogurt... keep opening her mouth for more. The !st time she ate, she poo so much,. subsequent consumption of the yogurt..constipated liao. I tot yogurt suppose to keep ur intestine healthy and will regulate bowels?
 
SQ, yalor. i also heard that bb will reject solid if dun intro early.. see, we all also in dilemma.. i guess the sinseh was referring to extreme cases like my fren's boy.
he never say cannot introduce. but he said if kept falling sick then have to be careful. maybe stop and intro later.

QQ: not 100ml at one go.. 100ml from the straw cup today.. its like 10ml to 20ml everytime throughout today. She drinks so much lesser when using the spout.

star, i see... then 100ml is good good.. but still not a lot la. i give tian more than 200ml water when she is constipated.. nanny use spoon feed.. steady hor... i use cup, spoon, bottle everything.. just kept feeding. water parade...
