Astro, when I was taking the coursed, many years backm already say blooming, but now still blooming, practical and theory is really diff, many parents are still holding that concept, so all schools are still working on work. Sheets.
Many parents claim that they accpt that kind of teaching methods, but still they are eager to know their kids progress via worksheets etc, so a long term investment will be less viable and then everyone will go to schools with gung-ho teachers and worksheets, spelling, etc

Astro: I m not concerned by the control shift to the children though. This happens everyday at my house. My kids "control" the 2 maids.. And they end up watching too much tv.

QQ: Haha!!! Just ask me lah, no need to do survey. This method is too idealistic. Even if i can see this happening in childcare stage, it won t be carried into the pri, sec or tertiary stage. For example... How are we able to measure performance, award honors degrees and scholarships?

RR: What abt Reyes? Will u send her to the same school? Hey I used the same concept to teach Anna plural. Then she asked me, what abt child and children?!? So I told her there are special cases such as this one. Then another case.. Phonics.. "cat", "bat", "fat", "mat" etc.. I told her if the letters are the same behind, then the words read the same. When we came across "she" and "the", she struggled with them, asked me how come they sound so different..

RR: Exactly why I asked.
Cos this method works for everyone, given time. Some children take a longer time to warm up, get comfortable, and open up. For this group, some "pushing" from the adults is required. And the regular programs may be more suitable.
U girls are scary! Think I need to run away or be silent reader cos nothing to contribute n dunno how to contribute! Kwa kwa kwa.

SQ: YE is like my friend's dotter. We meet only a few times a year - Christmas party, childrens' birthday parties etc. From a very young age, she could remember all the aunties' and uncles' names. This girl is very sweet. Each time we meet up, she will go to every one of us to greet us by name, "hello, uncle XYZ and auntie 123".
YE is more interested in Chinese? That's v good. Who speaks to her in mandarin?

Just came back from the Chingay @ heartlands. It was vv nice with the long dragon from China, dragon & lion dance, magnificent floats, fireworks, firecrackers & etc ... I understand why Belle said she enjoyed it alot cos I was more excited than the kids too!! haha!!

Star, tian is not very de got manners, I keep asking her to greet my frens this afternoon when wew went ot for lunch, she ONI said gong xi fa cai when she received ang pow.
However, for very very frequently meet up ones she will auto do it.

RR: we went to merchant court ellenbourough cafe and suffed ourself with the durian paste!!! hahaha.. i was burping out durian the whole night, so disgusting!!!!! and took lots of pic cos it was V-day eve and they have thjis nice sofa set up with big bears, love cushion and a big heart sharp balloon deco.. hahaha. too rush lah, and diff to chat cos they split us up into 2 yables but i think the kids had fun lah.

Astro, CO's tonsils about 2cm each (real big). Honestly, i will not do the ops if it is not affecting the hearing. But i am glad that i did the ops now, cos the kid is still young to realise what is pain...many adult friends told me their recovery period are real painful.

Mummies, just had a chat with the P of Clyde/ Gwyen's school. I told her i had a hard time making C to write and it really strain our relationship with all the writing material which C brot home for homework during weekend. Then P told me that it is not for the kids to write but the parents to jot down the word that the children had learned during the weekend. *faint*. Rem the Peter and Jane book? C borrow the 1a book from school. he is only able to read maximum 5 pages and no patience for the rest of the book liao. Me too also lost it. I told P the situation. She told me that the idea is not make them to read but to make them listen and make them rem since the words are repetitive. *faint*. Ok after the whole conversation with P. I went home telling C that i will not force him to write but write with him. And one of his material is to form sentences with the given word. So one of the given word is "love". I wanted to teach him to write "I love my sister" then he said no "I love my mummy." aiyoh want to tear liao. hahah...
Frankly i feel that i am catching my breathe with C weekend work. Every weekend i have 2 story books to read to each of them, pick up 3 words from 1 of the story books and write on their red "apple", make 2 sentences with their vocabulary list of words and each them how to write a, b, c. sighhh... imagine 4 tasks for each kids, 8 tasks for 2 kids. *pant*.
Frankly i feel that i am catching my breathe with C weekend work. wah, you so on? RR's school also give us storybooks every weekend for the parents to read to them and worksheets for the parents to go thru with them. But I'll only see them on Sun night when I'm packing their bags for the next day. wahaha!!!
I think those are recommended activities over the weekends. Even if not complete or don't do, it's ok. Don't have to be so stress about it bah.

now i am having a headache.. coz early in the morning at 630am.. this yh went and used his pacificer cap and knocked it on my head!! repeatedly!!! non-stop.. and because it hurts. i went ouch. then he does it again.. and he laughs out loud!!! wah liew.. i dunno what ot do with that boy..
then hor.. haiz. this teng.. he came to me.. and said 'mama i want to take photos with tian tian and racia and ying hui.. i want to eat oyseters. i dun want to go to school'.. and then whine all the way to school.. gosh. i tink i got a concussion to the head leh.. headache.. seriously :S

we need to do it again! yes.. next is the Line.. can we do it earlier? high tea maybe? hey. the ridz cartlon high tea is good leh.. the environment is also quite nice.. kids there wun misbehave too much.. not with the few we had.. hahaha. the worst behaved is teng liao..

SQ/ RR, After talking to P, i feel much better cos at least the amount of writing is lesser than wat i initally thot. Clyde likes listen to story, draw and write with him. Asking him to two 2 pages of alphabet alone is a nightmare. RR, not too sure about that manz ~~~ ok lah at least the children still loves to go school.
Astro, was teng ok when he gone home? went tobed immediately? anyway he kept pointing to the bear and crying, was it cos the gers didn;t want to give him the bear?

P&J can be quite dry, cos the storyline is, er, a bit lacking. If it's another story, maybe Clyde will display a longer attention span? I think boys are not as attentive as girls, and don't like to listen to stories (like Ayden). But you gotta check with other mummies here with boys the same age.
Astro: I was talking to hubby when we shd add Ariel to sleep with us..
This is what happened this morning..
Ayden woke up first (very usual). He must have made some noise to rouse us to wake up. Then when no one (ie my hubby) stirred, he opened the door and went outside himself. I heard the door close. He walked to meimei's room and called out sweetly " Hello Ariel!" (Ariel was still sleeping.. She was roused and woke up, unhappy. Cried a bit. ) Then I heard my maid ask ayden to go downstairs to look for the other maid, while trying to pacify ariel back to sleep. Ayden was not happy to be chased off. He started wailing. I went outside, carried him and trying to hush him, and at the same time, my maid from downstairs was walking up the steps, I passed him to her.
Then I went back to sleep. Haha..
Anna said when she woke up, she went to look for Ariel. She's already awake and playing by herself in her cot. So Anna climbed into her cot to play with her. She said she used the humpty dumpty toy to kiss her. Hahaa..

Germaine: Re cards.. Anna likes to make "cards" for me and hubby. These are more rough paper she used to put a few words on then actual cards lah. She'll draw a heart shape or flower, color it, put ANNA, MAMA, PAPA, ANNA, MAMA, PAPA, or I, "the heart shape", MAMA, PAPA on it, anyhow fold the paper up, and staple it, then pass to me, beaming! Haha..
But I am terrible.. I don't keep (I didn't throw away lah) those cards she made. I must go find them, and keep them.
