I tink teng also like millet.. gave him for the past two days.. he seems to gobble it up very fast.. hmm but i poor in gauging water needed..

pax: i tried ur ratio or millet to water.. wah biang.. i end up keep adding water tot he pot. else burn liao. and millet i think aborb water on standing right? quite dry and 'tough' after a while..

if you find millet in the ntuc at tiong bahru, let me know okay? i also wanna buy.. hahaha.. must make sure my dear mil hv something to cook for my ah boy's lunch

try small portion of papaya w more advocado?? can? your ah boy very good in "differentiating" food hor.....
 
Another very good source of soluble fibre is Broccoli.

Astro: me lazy, the papaya easier to handle as compared to apples..No more papaya tomorrow liao since we finished it today, Rae will eat apples tomorrow.

yeah yeah, my ah boy also likes papaya, i was feeding him papaya last week, and he's impatient w me mashing the papaya!!! make so much noise!! then i give up, i just give him the bite size papaya for him to bite the amount he wants!! hahaha.. and he's biting and chewing happily, most happy when he see the juice coming out and wetting his mouth.
 
carol: i dun soak it leh.. in fact. i didn't even wash it.. coz so small the grains.. hard to wash. but i hitnk i should just wash it to be safe.. haha..

yes.. for both occasion. i cooked it own its own.. i dnu mix.. but i tink pax says she mixes it with brown rice .. can't remember.. i add some spinah/green veeg to the millet. then serve alongside with my meat protein.. heehee. balanced diet liao!

mist: eeee.. dun like. i hate shitake.. wun intro teng that. can't stand the smele of it.. sometimes go out, eat mushroom ragout.. they use shitake mushrroms.. feel like going back..'complain'.. and get refund .. yucks :p
 
starfruit: u suure? papaya so messy .. with all its seeds.. apple only one core .. haha :p both needs peeling mah.. :p

the packaging never say soak it.. and i didn't.. coz so small liao. soak mai nothing left?.. in any case. teng ate both time. not soaked, not washed somemore. and he is fine.. but if must soak and wash. must also tell me hahaha.. :p

Oh yah. Anna knows how to spit out the big pieces of food from her mouth. I like her bite off a big piece of cheese/whole plum from my hand. She loves it. And interestingly, she then spits out the bigger pieces.. Hubby says good lor then she won't get choked.

If want more texture, then cut down the time used to cook porridge can liao lor.. Try that.. And don't chop/blend the veg/fish/meat too much. Don't even need to blend fish, just mash with spoon..
 
star: dunno lei. i think shitake orginates from Japan.. but the chinese mushroom of course from china? .. hmm i think they are different.. because they look so different.. in any case ah i told u du use the stem of the osyter mushroom right? i ate them. coz too crunchy for bo gay teng.. hah!! too sweet.. so nice.. chaim. i ga-ga over osyter mushroom liao :p

bbgirl: ya.. good.. Anna still has her reflexes.. bbs will spit food out if they have enough.. or too big to manage..

star: think u can try with Rae.. (if dare lah :p). chances are. she will alsp spit out the pieces of food of she find them too hard and difficult ot manage..

ok..so the wonder of the apple fruit

"Constipation and Diarrhoea

pax: apple juice and rice water will cause diarrhea to be more frequent .. so maybe steamed apple juice can help? eeee.

star: teng poo-ed another time liao. 5x today. so tomorrow.. steamed apples for him.. haha
 
someone was talking abt homemade apple juice for bbs? on it's own. in juice form.. too concentrated liao.. need to dilute one part juice to 10 parts boiled water. .then it is the commerical apple juice for bbs liao.. of course wnu be able to keep that long lah.. must seive hor.. else got tiny bits one. hee
 
u gals need to imagine this to get a laugh.

I bathe Teng in a tub on my dining table. Just beside the tub i set up my chaning mat with all the towels spead out to dry him after the bath.. so today.. teng keep wanting to stand up.. finsihing bathing him.. normally i will lift him out of the tub.. and dry him on the changing mat.. today.. no. he wants to do it the adult way.. he 'walked" out of the tub, stepped on the changing mat.. and sat down. i proceeded to lay him down.. and dry him up.. and he did it very seriously. with a very serious expression on his face as he made his first step out of the tub onto the changing mat..whahaha!! funny? :p

and for teng.. he doesn't spit the bigger pieces immediately.. he will try to gum them down.. if take too long. he looks at me.. then i go 'ahhhh'..use the feeding spn to press on his lips.. his mouth will part for me to remove the big unmanageable lump.. haha.. good.. he dun dirty my place :p
 
and hor. today. teng very very funny.. he finished his milk feed.. slide down.. want to lead me to help him mayor.. then he was holding onto his milk bottle and then he mayored all the way to the ktichen. 'shouted' at his maomao to ger her attention.. 'passed' her the bottle to wash. and lead me to help himmayor back into living room!!! alamak. so cute!

think with ur bbs.. they crawl .. teng cannot. so need mayor.. but in any case.. just as cute.. esp the shouting to get attnetion, pass bottle liao, immediately turn head and mayor back into living room.. whahaha!
 
Hey, my maid told me she slept in anna s room. Last nite anna woke up, stood on the cot and call out, but didn t cry. My maid then patted her, then she guai guai go back to bed.
 
star/Carol: bb beef stew?

Baby Beef Stew

1/2 cup cubed cooked beef
1 peeled potato
1/4 cup shelled fresh or frozen peas
1 peeled carrot
1 stalk of celery
1/4 cup uncooked pasta (try ditalini as it's small and makes for great finger food!)
4 cups of water

Wash vegetables thoroughly and chop very fine.
Simmer the veggies for 20 minutes or until softened
Add the pasta and cook for 10 minutes longer or until very soft. Drain but save the water.*****

Mash or puree the mix until it is of a consistency adequate for your baby.

bbgirl: misse dout ur previous post asking me how come anna wakes and see u all then go back to sleep.. i dun have the actual experience (haiz) but my guess is what pax has said.. can try train anna up again using pax's method (as mentioned in GF).. and over time..Anna should be able to get use to the idea that she is sleeping all alone..

hmm.. careful.. else maid might cause another dependency? pat to sleep?..
 
Astro: Anna will also gam first. Then she will spit out the bigger pieces. Now she s zzz-ing in her carseat.. When she saw me through the gates just now, she banged her hands on the glass. Hehehe... I m so happy.. She can spot me from a crowd liao..

Star: Actually this am was in KL, flew there yesterday. Then flew to Penang from KL, had one lunch meeting, then fly back to sing..
 
Astro: I m more concerned she needs someone to be with her in the room to be able to zzz throughout the nite. Patting, like paci, we re not consistent abt it, so I think it s ok. I don't want my maid to sleep in her room leh.. MIL says its alrite cos anna so young.. I then won't listen to her re this..

i dun cook on its own.. too dry, i feel.. i always add to white rice or brown rice.. jus cook per normal. no need to soak. jus wash and drain...

i'm so happy for u and Rae. Rae is eating more now? and even wan textured food.. good.. ya, i also think the lumps keep their mouths too busy for them to put their fingers in to chew. hahaha... after i made food more textured and lumpier, Jo no longer sticks her fingers in her mouth.

Astro: Yah, we have the monitor. Slowly train lor. Let my maid sleep with her for a few more days, then I slowly get her to withdraw. In any case, this is a new place to anna, so she may need some time to adjust. Just now lagi funny. She was trying to zzz in her cot. A while later, woke up an stand there to call out softly to us. When I went into her room, she dropped herslef and try to zzz. After a while, she stood up again. I think she's really testing water to see if we'll be there when she calls us.. They're so sensitive..
