i also think DCC is good. Leia seldom fall sick before she turns 3.
i had DCC for both pregnancies. think i will get some for leia and for myself - to be passed to enya.

i bought from Fok Hua also about $300+ for a small pack, ate 6-7 times.

I also second the mummies' suggestions to give DCC. I took quite abit of that during pregnancy. And when RR 1st started CCC, they fell sick every alt. month for about a year then my mum bought and made DCC for them and things did get better.
 
oh... i did take a little bit of DCC when preg with tian. not too much, i think a few times in my 2nd and 3rd tri. that time jj told me to take so i just take some.

RR, pink, i am so glad that i am here then i got to know so many things including DCC for kids and unborn bb. haha!!

huingee, yes. today tian was ok, she cried when pick up time. WHY?? this stupid papa. went to took her shoes and kept talking to teacher. tian was looking for her shoes and tot it was gone le then started crying. i ask papa why so geykiang, he said all parents also help kids to take shoes ma, then he just took lor.
why can't he leave it on the rack and let tian take herself? so cried for nothing, so wu2 gu1.

Yes, still possible to have chicken poz, but will have fever. Met Esther's weekend classmate last week. Her daughter didn't attend class for 2 weeks cos got chicken pox. Asked her she didn't let give her girl vaccine she said she did. Cos her cc got cp case, hence the teacher check every kids. Her girl only got 5 poxs on her body, fever at 39 deg only at end of the week.

just went to wash teh birdnest and cook with DCC.
eh i find hockhua birdnest not as fragrant as eys one. a bit weird ah. hm... lets try and see.

RR, CP possible not itchy cause not many pocs mah. if many many then will feel itchy. but it can eat well de. i remember i ate quite well during CP period though i was 13. practically having honeymoon at home, cause no need to go school.
Keira also ate well cause oni 5 dots.
 
huingee, i know he geykiang, most of the time. but at critical period he still go geykiang. aiyo. cannot tahan him le.

this am he complained tian not drinking milk. then i wokeup and ask tian to drink. tian told me she wanna shh shh. then she went shh shh, and drink milk after that. tian said papa beat her. i ask papa why he beat her (lightly nia), papa said she nottie la, not drinking milk, dun want to go school. but actually tian wanna shh shh this papa kept distracting and make her drink milk.

hmmmm ... Reyden has 3-4 pimples like rashes on his nose and forehead which we all think it's heat rash. Even the teachers also say so but it had been there since last Mon. Then on last Wed he had mild mild fever, 37.7 but went off the next day.
Then over the weekends, the pimples seemed to dry up and Kent says the more he looks at it, the more it looks like cp??? But other than the pimples, he's playing, eating well so we can't be sure what is it too.

my fren kept telling me to go hockhua to buy birdnest so i said ok i try once and see.
hm.. later once cook i see if the quality got differences.

so now CP and HFMD in the rise.

u did give him the vaccination before right? maybe that's y the symptoms very mild. good mah. but next time when reyden ask u: mama, did i get CP before? then the answer is YES or NO?

And hor the best part is he has got an ulcer in his mouth. And my mum and Kent both has got more than 1 ucler in the mouth too. So HFMD?

bel and sam also on inhaler/neub daily last time. Bel stop long time ago, sam stop recently, so far so good. Tml sam going back for check up, i guess the dr can close case liao. Cos she break the mthly coughing curse! Lol! U ask dr ong wad is the best solution. I wan to cut cost, so dr ong ask mi to go poly and refer to specialist in kkh. Damn cheap, cheaper den dr ong! No need always 100 100 always pay.

i agree dcc is good! Wonder med! Bel took the powder form. Mix into her milk. Lol!

make sure she is not drowsy, must be active. If u feel not right, bring to see dr immediately. Sam fall with head down once, she look blur for awhile and almost cannot recognise mi like tt, den she stare at the blank for awhile den she sit up. Scary, but she active after tt.

If it's CP will also be in other parts of the body. Like my fren said her girl, 1 in back, 1 in face, 1 in leg, etc, total abt 5 only. CC said it's cp, so went to see dr and verfy it's cp. Then cannot go cc for 2 weeks as it's cp. Like K, also.
 
RR, yalor. i actually told jay that at this age, can have a CP party like autum mentioned. it is fine de. then all have it liao then next time no worry. now if tian develop fever, we also dunno if it is CP, or HFMD? or both.
nevermnd, see how.

jay also has one ulcer in his mouth last week. he sometimes has ulcers de if eat too heaty food or wat. so means wat? we also dunno. today he said he also laosai liao tian last night. means wat? both jay and tian share food most of the time.

Reyes is ok so far. No vaccine.
The thing is we thought of bringing him to doctor but it seems silly to bring him to doctor for a few pimples. :p
 
RR, i cannot la. i keep laughing le.
today i sit here just surf net cause i cannot do anything except resting. sleeping. jay said cannot even tidying up things. probably last saturday we tidy up store room then dong4 le tai1 qi4 and i feel pain. haha!!

so if i am the doctor, i also wonder what's wrong with these parents nowadays, 5 dots on the face also look for dr. then no fever somemore, plus eating well sleeping well.
sigh! haha!
 
huingee besides fever, we everyday also check tian feet, hands, mouth. check until sian. we also check buttock, cause teacher said the student (1st confirmed case) got one blister at buttock area. so we also checked tian's buttock diligently. haha!!
tian must be thinking these adults are weird, everyday also check my body for wat?

i check, hb check, sil also check. teacher also check...

anyway HFMD is a joke lah cos doctor says more than 3 ulcers then confirmed HFMD.

the thing is teachers also think it's heat rashes and didn't tell us to bring to doctor or what. Reyden has got 3-4 popped up spots on his face and red flat rashes on upper body and arms since last Mon liao.
 
DCC - Got different grades. Those in the wild (ye3 sheng1) are the most expensive. The ones which are farmed, much cheaper.
They go by liang3. One liang can be hundreds to thousands..

BN - Also got different grades.. Plus the distinction between dong4 yan4 (cave) and wu1 yan4 (bird house). I think again the wild ones are considered more premium and more ex..

that time Reyden had HFMD, he didn't have blisters on hand & foot. He only had ulcers in his mouth and blisters on buttocks.

Ya, dong4 yan4 is better grade cos they said the bird fly to very high mountain or cave. Thouse wu1 yan4 only fly to house.

seems like really many cases of CP and HFMD =(

i think DCC is good too. Mag used to be really really skinny and underweight last time. so i put DCC in her porridge. just a strand a day coz she was only 2 then. she did grow a bit after wards. now she is in the 50% . but too ex liao, stopped eating now

it's known to be good for the lungs and body constitution. No harm in trying if you want to build up her health.

my mum will just double-boil with lean meat & wolfberries. Don't add too much water, it's better to be concentrated.
 
Pork with Cordyceps

Ingredients:
50g Chinese cordyceps
500g lean pork
50g wolfberries
4 cups or any suitable amount of boiling water


Method:
Wash lean pork. Allow to cook in boiling water for 5 minutes. Remove and rinse.
Put lean pork, Chinese cordyceps & wolfberries into double boil bowl & double boiled for 3 hours.
 
If not, you can cook with black chicken too. Nice.

Cordyceps Black Chicken Soup
You can get the herbs individually from medical hall or get those pre packed ones and add in your own DCC.

Serves 4 - 5
Ingredients
10g - 20g each of the following Chinese herbs:
Cordyceps "Dong Chong Cao"
Ginseng slices "Pao Shen" (泡参)
Codonopsis Pilosulae "Dang shen" (黨參)
Solomon’s Seal Rhizome "Yu Zhu" (玉竹)
Radix Dioscoreae Oppositae aka Chinese Yam Root "Huai Shan" (淮山）
Liquorice Root "Gan Cao" (甘草)
Fructus Lycii aka Wolfberry "Gou Qi Zi" (枸杞子)

1 black chicken (乌鸡)， skined and quartered
1 - 2 teaspoon of salt (*add gradually, adjust amount to suit your taste)
1 pot of water, 70% filled (about 2000ml)

Method:
1) Heat pot of water over high flame. Add all Chinese herbs and reduce heat to medium fire. Boil herbs for 15 minutes.

2) Add black chicken meat (you may blanch the chicken meat beforehand). Reduce heat to low fire and simmer for 2 hours. Add salt to taste. Serve hot.

AAA, so the birdnest, i guess i bought the more exp from eys last time. they told me it is WILD birdnest, but never explain dong yan or wu yan to me. prob mine is wu3 yan4? i know it is jing1 si1 yan4, and dunno what yan4.

AAA, RR, Yvonne, for kids hor, DCC need to buy super good grade or just cincai grades can liao (paosheng for kids cincai grade, too good cannot give kids, same concept?)

kelley, we all like found the big land for ourself now. all go buy DCC. haha!
 
oh tasted the birdnest, ok la not bad. initially din trust my own eye, then now the taste is as good as the eys one. ok! pass.

kelley kaexin, after your DCC purchase come here report the price and type of DCC suitable for kids ok?
 
AAA, about the DCC. eys staff told me good one is the wild one, from tibet? so i got a small pack of this.

my mil also bought some DCC, super FAT and lighter in colour, much CHEAPER type. so which type?
black, skinny, expensive one? or
fat fat, milky colour, cheaper type?

DCC got many grades.. think very luan.. and the price varies greatly. I remember I was told one match-box size is $1k.. but those are supposed to be top quality.. every single worm is whole pc and fat fat de.. not broken type. They handpick all the nice ones for the top grade bah. Then i think also got $200-$300 type. I also dunno what is the difference!

ya, good enough le. Last time when I was preggie, my mil got some at $500+ for me. Then my mum got some at $300 for the same quantity for RR and it worked well too so I guessed good enough liao.
