Yes. I gave up also. Half strength here and there gives me a headache.. I just went out and buoght Isomil also.. ehh. haven't try it..he was whining just now. thought have a chance to try. but he rejected. dun want to drink. dunno what he wants..

yes.. definitely diarrhea will cause dehyration. coz the pathetic amt they drink not enough enough to make up for what they lost in the stools! feeding him with plenty of water and apple juice.. but can't too much also else he will throw up.. headache

yes.. i think his buttock .. around the anus.. reddish.. possible diaper rash.. i dun reaslly know how a diaper rash looks like..think teng never had it before.. i supposed spreading reddish patch? due to the acidic content of the stools.. that i know..

did ur girl vomit also? thought he already clear with the vomitting till he merlioned again just now. Miser (my husband) said over fed him. poor boy looks hungry. but his stomach..can't tahan the amount that he want sto eat.. sigh..feels like playing a very delicate game of Risk everytime feeding him..

How long ur bb took to recover from the flu? ur family alright ah? my mum and miser both down. me left standing.. hope i can hang on...sigh

ehh.. i am jumping over the place. paiseh. one more qn.. did ur girl feel warm during that period of time? as in she feels feverish.. and unsettled?

so. no diluting required for Isomil right? how much do u suggest i feed Teng? He is 11mths..

dunno if u read this thread regulary. teng is usually easy to care for..coz on a schedule.. now all haywired.. and i must confess.. i am in a mess coz.. i have been spoilt by GF!

QQ: ya. stuffing him with liquid.. solid no appetite no choice.. and now slightly eating something lah. but def far from what he used to be eating.. and yes. diluted FM is no good. coz if fed over a period of time. bbs will fall sick

BBgirl: thanks for the concern. u meant teng is prone to falling sick? i'm afraid not..I think it is more of me playing the fanfare and exaggerating the situation then it really is.

It is pretty much the same case when i have the wrong impression that Anna is bad tempered which in reality, as u tried to clarify later, she's not. I might likewise have given u the wrong impression that Teng falls sick easily with my outspoken character. Definitely I am not as steady as many mummies here. I will post anything that I feel deserve to be shared and that means my fears which of course revolves greatly around teng's health and development. And you will notice that i dun normally post the good things Teng is capable off. I am like that as a person, not keen to highlight the good but more inclined to discuss and share the burdens of the cons..

Teng is a very healthy boy.. never really fall sick in his 11 mths of life till now.. except the shingles incident (which isn't really his fault).. this time he had a blocked nose.. and his immunity is again lowered and hence catching the virus which is relatively widespread now in sg.. Many pple are feeling under the weather. not just teng.

hmmm.. dunno if in HK u have the flu bug. but in singapore now. this is the flu season.. my whole family has it. my friends has it.. not jus teng..

Do call back to check on Anna frequently and make sure that ur domestic help is practising good hygiene to minimise any possible risk of infection.

Mist: flu jab is not the MMR jab.. MMR jab is measles-mumps -rubella..(MMR).. and i think this jab is controversial because of a probable link to autism.. and think Joelle mentioned Flu jab got egg yolk? interesting.. why they need egg yolk for the jab ah? :p

Starfruit: received ur free (? :p ) packet of barley.. wah. how to ascertain ah?:p like that me very 'stressed' ah.. skali think it is and it is not and then other mums buy liao.. come and whallop me liao! :p but it does look different.. wanted to bring it to to some stores which sell barley and just ask.. but ehh. now no time

CK: Teng merlioned agian.. sigh. think we over fed him because he was eating.. then very anxious kept feeding. his stomach not ready lah.. sian. ur girl vommited also the last time?? Miser suggested just feed isomil.. no solids for the moment.. because his stomach can't hold the solids long enough to be digested anyway. so fully on isomil.. what do you think?

wah biang. and i kept feeding teng apple juice thinking that it will provide him with the necessary vitamins. arghh..and rice water aggravates dehydration.. wah..

ya lor. not consistent cos mil always carry her. she jiang3 bu4 ting1 one.

oh, the yogurt hor. cos food left at room temperature will turn back mah. that's why we're not supposed to leave food at room temperature (besides fruits). if we want to let the bb eat, must take out from the fridge just before we need it, then defrost / heat up. else the bacteria multiply mah. and yogurt is made cos of the bacteria multiplying. but at the same time that the good bacteria is multiplying to set the yogurt, the bad bacteria also multiplying wor.

makes sense? this is what i read lah. but can't rem from where wor... i always can't remember the source of my readings one. just read and absorb what i think is logical

my gal also merlion this am in my enthusiasm to feed her. cos she really like banana with yogurt. and she ate and ate. so i fed and fed. then vomit lor. waste food and suffer oni...

astro.. maybe i jian4 guai4 mo4 guai4 about merlioning liao. tian merlion in her 1st 7 months, can be super serious that type.. like more than 100ml also got.. its almost every feed on some days (or even hours after feed also vomit a little).. some days are just better. if one day no vomiting, can celebrate liao. actually, u are the lucky one, u know. cause teng is such a good baby to take care. now it is just a small glitch that u need some time to fix..

SQ, bo bian la. if YE dun want to sleep then your mil can't bear to see her like that right? then she will still carry and pat. my mil also carried tian to sleep last time. she insisted that tian can only sleep on her own when I'm around.
but one good news. my nanny knew that it was really hard for me in the past one week when nobody helped me. I told her not to pat tian to sleep. also try not to continue patting is she wants to wake up. she did that on friday. i was so glad. but she fed her water until she slept la.
so these few days my sleep training works. she can auto sleep on her own. her problem is waking up in the nights only. sigh!

poach meat with milk. though i knew about this, but i never want to do it cause i am not a milk person. I'm a ginger person. haha!!

i already told mil i rather YE don't zzz then being carried to zzz. cos i believe that if she's tired, she will zzz wan.

like just now, she fell zzz in her hi chair at the restaurant! damn funnie cos her eyes were shutting during dinner. and she zzz with her super duper bib on. everyone walked past us and laugh at the sight.

i wish.. that i can have the chance to slowly unpack this packed bag severald days later.. and laugh at my own kan cheongness. i hope teng really gives me the chance NOT to use the bag..

SQ, yalor.. we used to have some honeymoon period la...
the root cause ah.. dunno leh.. this pattern started since teething time. ok, we tot its teething, then we bear with it cause it might be painful and not comfy. she din wake up, she just fussed. if we dun go pat or carry a bit, then wake up liao. so, we created the wrong association for her la. stupid!
then now teething seems stop liao (3 teeth oni) then still like that. ok! last time sore throat, then maybe sick, we also tahan.. now everything seems normal, still like that. so its time to fix.

my sofa is always free for teng to fly... and those cushions also can stack up stack down for various pattern.

wah, u pack hospital bag? no need bah.. alamak.. u really kancheong. u need to learn to relax...

Haha, you all very funny leh. The jaw dropping effect is due to the fact that normal days I simply look like sh** not because I'm exceptionally gorgeous on the prom night lar. But hor, my photo is at my mom's place and no scanner so you all got to wait.

Erm, I'll be truthful, I can remember you because you are very tall. It is the same way I can remember QQ because of her eyebrows. I tend to notice things about others that is lacking in myself, lol!

one "problem" i have is my mil kept telling us what an easy bb YE is. in terms of zzz. cos she's used to carrying and rocking my nephew to zzz for hours! he zzz liao and she still carry him. she claimed that the moment she puts him down, he will wake.

so she's is v impressed with YE being able to zzz in her own room, throughout the night. and she say v ez one, just carry her for less than 2 min she zzz liao. she dun get the point that even though it's only 2 min, YE can't zzz on her own cos she's used to carrying.

so every weekend i got to hear her cry though she's obviously konking out. sian.

SQ, yalor when they are too tired, they will sleep.. hm.. but if dun sleep well for a few days, easy to fall sick one. i feel.. maybe u need to take it slowly. step by step. (DUNNO YOUR MIL WILL FOLLOW OR NOT). like carry maybe not until she sleep, then put down, slowly decrease the carrying duration.. then can wean off..

yes. when they are sick, we sayang them and create the wrong zzz association. it's lidat wan. v common. then when they are well, they can't get back to their old routine!

SQ, precisely.. tian also pat less than one min then can sleep liao. mil, nanny everyone commented SO EASY.. last time dunno who who who carried and pat for 1 hour then can sleep. this one 1 min... i told them, meaning NO NEED TO PAT also can sleep.. alamak. their response is No carry, no patting, she flip here struggle there for 10 min, 20 min... then cannot guarantee sleep. if pat, 1 min GUARANTEE KO. why not? sigh!!
obviously, i was not along their line of thinking.
so i think YE can sleep without carrying. its just 2 min. high hope.

i've never carried her to zzz. even when she was ill and crying. so i don't intend to do it.

my dilemma is bb who don't zzz a lot don't grow, and they're not as intelligent (again, don't ask me read from where). so i'm at a loss to helping her zzz
 
how how how.. SQ. i accidentally created this stupid bad sleeping association when she was sick, uncomfy.. now i dunno how to go back. but i think still can.. cause on some days she can... most days cannot. sigh!! i am still monitoring. i wanna get rid of waking up unecessarily..

I used to find Eric Carle's books expensive and the illustrations so so (Too abstract) but I bought the hungry caterpillar and I realise now why it is so popular. It is rather appealing but right now, I'm not tired to analyse why.

Teng sleep so much. he very clever meh? they are bbs who are sleep deprived and yet so advanced one hor.. so i think sleep is good.. but not critical. but sill must try to ensure they sleep well.. because that way.. we sleep well also. heeehee.. i know i mean lah. but that's a fact lei ..

ok.. i have some input. but do pardon me cause i haven't gone into reading his books yet.. ok? here are what i heard and knew from my lecturers last time. Need you to check out the content then let us know. haha!

Eric C's books
- shows some content of prediction, anticipation so can stimulate children's ability in predicting and anticipating what will happen next. ( you go read his books then revert if this is true, ok)
- simple and good english
- establish a good english foundation for young kids
- relevant & interesting content so that children can relate to their daily life (or things that they see... etc etc)
- good & appealing graphics (not very complex): i m not sure if this is true...

in general, recommended by my lecturers.. so many GOOD kindy and childcare have his books.. and always no discounts for his books too.
 
SQ: yes he did stop merlioning. and was actually taking more solids liao. but stupid big ass monster and four eyed frog fed too much. he too uncomfy. too much wind.. merlion again!! used to be one sided from butt.. now both ends again! sigh..

Astro, feeding schedule ah? can cause night waking badly? cause my last feed also quite a lot these days, still like that. one thing that it cannot be done.. her morning 1st feed is like YE, no appetite one even the prvious night feed was very little. tried before.. cannot!! so besides this, all others will be easier to adjust... u so FAN2 now, dun thin about it yet.. come back to u when teng is ready to fly.
 

SQ< i use farmhouse (pink colour one = full cream). sometimes sil bought meiji, then i also use meiji once.
milk powder? i dunno leh. cannot bah..
