star:i always think i'm using Ji Xiang pai Ru Yi oil, but now that u mention, i went into my room to chk, oh can't tell which brand... usually i will rub my hands away from sylvia and so by the time it's applied on her, no longer powdery... anyway my MIL applies powder on her to make her mei mei when she was under her care.. told her not to use, she bo chup... faintz...
 
swmom: perhaps u cld tell ur MIL.. dust particles can coz lung 'infection'.. coz bbs cannot handle those dust particles. and such. tell her very very serious .. can diekind.. then i think she will wise up liao :p
 
astro: yes i cook for sylvia on wkends and ur link looks very interesting!

hopefully i can find something within my culinary skills to cook for sylvia... i cook minimally...
 
astro: my MIL is very stubborn, she won't listen to me... she only listen for a while (during my confinement) when i told her PD says sylvia nose sensitive like daddy... after my maternity, she forgets abt it and do it her way thinking i won't smell it...anyway now my gal under my mom's care so no worries on that part liao..

I use the avent liquid powder on YT and it helps to prevent heat rash without the powder flying around. It smooths on like moisturiser and dry to a powdery smooth texture. If really want to use powder, can use that instead of the powder type.

i think.. def.. any children of miser cannot have the name 'king'.. add surname let pple laugh till die.. i also dun call myself Mrs Kong.. oh my god.. with my build become King Kong for sure! .. then cannot combined surname wor.. mine is tan.. put 'kong-tan'.. becomes dummy egg?! wah liew. i will stick to mdm tan.. haiz..
 
swmon: the sailor/boat brand will have a junk type of ship on the metal bottle of the ru yi oil.. but packaging and colour wise, exactly the same as ji xiang pai.ya dust particle damn scary one, thats why bb needs to use liquid powder so won;t cause a hazard.
i think any new food can give lah, but just give in moderation cos our bb's is still learning to accept new kind of food lah, dun strain their tummy/intestine. think u will be a better gauge on what is suitable and what is not.. but we get all kinds of mum here, some very liberal and will give everything, but some like me..damn kiasi one.. i dun think i will give garlic bread to rae till she is 6.. cos i dun want to give her tasty food.. since she like plain bread now, i will stick with plain bread..hehe

mejo: that's very exp lah... i also thought of using before I saw the price.. after seeing the price, think don't use powder... so only use for the ruyi oil application ~ only when gal seems bloated or have poo prob...

swmon: if u use so infrequently, can buy the avent one and try. gerber has this roll on corn powder for bb.. suppose to cause less powder particle, i bought and try and found the powder still fly, so i kept it.
 
k i think i will stop using powder for ru yi oil application as well... not sure if the Avent one can go with ruyi oil, so better not try to do it...:)

for food, i think there's still a long way to learn... never mind, part of the whole motherhood process... :)
 
astro: so we two kiasi mums.. hahah.. i have stopped giving pigeon or the gerber puff to rae cos i fund them too tasty, rae quite deprive now hor.. but she loves her cherrios.. so i will just stick to cheerios now lor till she make noise, then i will give her sumthing else. my take is tat, as long as she dun make noise, i won;t give anything else, until the day she make noise then i will give more tasty snacks cos i also remember SQ's story on the crumbs on the floor.. hehe

swmon: ya a lot of them have very interesting recipes for tots.. u can qing jiao our ms Joelle or ms pax, they are the famous cooks/baker here. They can churn out damn tasty food suitable for out tots.. u should ask them for recipes.
 
HB still not back... told him at 8 plus I may need him to ta bao back cos didn't eat much at dinner with Sylvia around...then at 10.30 he sms me say will be late...actually also didn't expect him to put my tummy into his concern, think he's more intersted in his company gathering/BBQ...Sighzzz

star: too tasty..? :p then u eat :p.. teng doesn't like gerber puffs.. i have stopped buying. but still got one of those smaller onetouch container full of the gerber puffs.. headache. cheerios is his fav snack.
i trying to expriment him with different bb biscuits (those Gerber biter biscuits kind.. ginerbread man.. heinz cheese sticks) whatever... coz i want him to bite and not stuff whole thing in mouth kind.. horrible leh him..

i stopped pumping when he was abt one yr old...he is taking Gain IQ...

This boy is so much easier than his gorgor...i'm not complaining...jst that i can't really carry him for long...now that my tummy is getting bigger and bigger each day..

ya my fridge not big, n i dun need a big one in the first place, is your kitchen big and do u cook a lot? if not small one is good enuf.

but for my case, headache. u know the drawers for fruits and veg?
my MIL territorises both drawers wif her stuff which she rarely use, im still trying to figure out how to get 1 drawer back.
 
re: Hotel furniture

today i went to this warehouse off macpherson road (very near to playfair road).. they sell 2nd-hand hotel furniture that are collected from hotels when they undergo renovation or refurbishment.. quite an interesting place.. there were tons of lamps, tables, chairs etc.

i wanted to change my side coffee table to a side chest-drawer.. so i thot i pop by there to see. End up i chose this piece, which the staff told me was from Four Seasons hotel (dunno true or not).. wah, nice.. $250. The prices of the furniture are not dirt-cheap.. but considering the quality and design.. i think they are worth and better than paying for brand new from places like Courts.. I went to courts to see.. a simple coffee table can cost $399.. for that kind of materials.. i think not worth lor.
 
I have taken some food lah, else will faint like what I told him in sms... the complaint was more for his non-concern...if it's his mom, he wold have flown back tat 8plus when he was told to ta bao loh... sadzzzzz....

yar, it is quite ex but I only use at night after shower so can last quite long. Besides, I only put on back, neck, chest and underarm. Until now, still just using the second bottle and I buy during sales.

no la, it's not on purpose.. cos this warehouse place, (it's not exactly a warehouse, more like those industrial building).. is very near my hubby's office. My hb's office is in those area where a lot of industrial building.. actually the magnolia factory is just next to his office.. anyway, i often drop-pick hb, so I drove past this Hotel furniture place.. I saw their banner.. so it kind of stuck in my mind.. then my coffee-table broke.. so we went there lor.

hmm.. actually around my hb's office, got a lot of interesting 'warehouses' or 'factories'.. the Axe Brand oil factory is also next to his office.. then further the other side of macpherson road.. a lot of furniture warehouses.. or garment factories etc.

just bearly 2 months that i moved baby to mom's care cos MIL needs to take care of SIL's NB, we've been arguing almost all the time. Son thinks mom ca't get to see grand daughter, very pitful and will miss her very much... sighzzz....

oh.. i thot you guys have a car.. anyway, u go learn driving la. Nowadays very easy to pass, just learn auto! It's a good skill to have la.. in case some day u need to drive, or u buy a family car.

but if your MIL needs to take care of newborn, then she can't take care of your girl. So it's more practical to send to your mom.. so why your hb unhappy? he wants his mom to be over-worked ah?
 
autum: I also got my coffee table at $250 but years back from a neighbourhood furniture shop in AMK... so think urs should be more worth it...hotel quality... :)
 
autum: i very lazy! that time i went with my best fren to take the basic.. paid for it. end up she went and got to advanced. i never even go for the basics! kekeke..

Autum: he don't see it that way and both of them (son and mom and maybe father) feels my MIL can cope.. i more practical.. more worried that what if she can't cope...wat if gal stick to her when she needs to feed NB?

swmom, your MIL/PIL stays with you right. then everyday your MIL goes to SIL house to take care of newborn? then your Slyvia, everynight you bring home? if u bring home everynight, then your MIL/FIl will still get to see her right?
