he got slight case of eczema... not those very serious one.. but to be on the safe side, i give him HA milk lor... the nestle person oso recommended HA to me..

but, i must say that it's not easy being an "older" mum. quite tiring...
my fren almost 40 liao now expecting #2, but after NT scan, 1 in 2 chance of DS. She's so upset. I remember how it feels cos i oso went through that... so i really wonder if i can go thru it again...the "stress" starts from preggie till birth and continues...plus, the physical demands...Haiz.
Then again, hving bb late wasnt a choice it just so happens that some ppl like me marry late. Life not always so straight forward can marry by mid 20s and hav bbs before or in early 30s... oh well.. c'est la vie!

If Evee really has the same type of eczema as JT, than liquid talc is not suitable. We used it on her, than PD says must stop as it is causing her skin to be even drier. So I had to lelong and sell my old stocks to MBB

Yeah, I think its a good idea to ask hubby to take a few days off and take care of Ivan so tat you can take a breather. Actually when JT was 2 mths old, she used to cry and cry before every nap, I buay tahan also just left her on the cot and then I went back to my own room, cos I carry her she also cry mah, so bo chup lor. As long as the surrounding is safe, I think there's no harm to leave him alone for a while to regain your sanity. It'll be even worse if you always feel so down. Now JT will also cry if I am out of sight, unless I distract her with a toy, then I quietly leave her, then she'll be ok to play on her own in the cot. If not like when I'm having lunch, I just put her on the mat next to me, she'll be ok just to know that I'm somewhere around and she can crawl around as she wants. You want to try? Hugz hugz

Yah, my philips DECT bb monitor is round and yellow, but think there are 2 models if I remember correctly. This is the cheaper DECT model, the other one very cheem one I think (AND EX LAH!)

eh, JT is the reverse leh, she rejected the pigeon wide neck, and took NUK premium. I know NUK teats can fit into pigeon wide neck bottles lah, I haven't tried the reverse before.
Yah lor, JT is quite impatient. I also never give her toys during meal time, only hubby does that lor. 1st time gave her a rattle, end up she put in the mouth and the whole rattle covered with cereal!! Argh men sometimes really dunno wat to say.... Then now he give her the fisher-price drum and tamborine thingy to play, at least too big to put into her mouth
Eh, you dun scare me leh, HA will make things worse? I'm thinking of starting to put Nan HA in solids next week when JT is officially 6mth, cos if I use BM to mix, always got wastage one, so sim tia....

you mean the name of the med for her eczema? He gave her Desowen which is steriod based, I can't remember the nameof the pimple medicine her gave her but I checked it up and the medications were all considered very strong. and he expected me to apply them all over her body whereever she had rashes.

i tried NAN HA on my baby before, hoping that it'd help her allergies. Not sure if it helped but ultimately, I find that cow's milk is not suitable for her and I switched her to goat's milk formula which has been good for her so far. I use that to supplement my bm.

I felt so broke buying all her creams and baths but seeing her skin improve really makes it worthwhile.

U all changed 2 step 2 milk already ahh? Just to share hor, I asked my PD, he said in my case better dun change cos now E is drinking well so better dun rock the boat. He also said tat step1 n 2 not much difference just tat step 2 milk got slightly more protein, iron n calcium, but will also cause constipation. So for bbs who r already having trouble pooing better dun change until later.

I was thinking of #2. I only child so i know wat it's like. It's not just abt loneliness when young, but when u are older, it can be quite stressful when u know u alone are "responsible" for looking after 2 aging parents!
If i want to hv #2, must 5 5, cannot wait. But i am still hesitant and my hb is even more reluctant...keep saying dunno if we hv energy physically/emotionally to go thru again...

the emotional roller coaster during the pregnancy is quite tough... of cos, we trust God and we do hv a healthy ger, but to go thru it again...scared.

My PD also gave JT desowen for her eczema. She did say use only as last resort. But sometimes really bo bian cos I see her skin like so raw, nothing will help. But nowadays like better liao, so keep my fingers crossed.

I find I have to multi-task at home, and sometimes it gets quite stressful when JT is cranky and I have to get my marking done before the deadline. But at the same time, I get the best of both worlds and get to spend time with JT, and still get a stable income and keep in touch with the working world.

Altho' my PT job pays quite well, but it is stagnant in terms of career development. By then, I would be old and can't get back to where I left off. My plan now is to put JT in childcare when she is 18mth. so it's either #2 or my career..... I know its very poor thing to be a single child, but I dunno if I will feel very regretful if I gave up my career totally because of the kids. Afterall I worked so hard in the initial years... haiz... dilemma dilemma.... think I'll just wait another year and see how... that's when JT is 18 months, then I'll decide whether to go back to work and put her in childcare, or for me to try for #2.

tis morning ivan was about to take his first nap...after nursing him...he already knocked out.so i put him in cot and on aircon...he realy look sound asleep..bt after i walked out less than 5mins...he cried liao...i dun know how to describe how i felt then...it was like 'suffocating'feeeling....i couldnt take it any more...close the door..n let him cried for 45mins while i quickly do my tings n ate breakfast..
its like he changes so fast....he was still ok on sat/sun..then monday all of a sudden he just nid hugs all the time!! imagine i can put him in cot for 45mins last time ..he can happily flip n crawl n play by himself..now the moment i put him in cot n out of sight he start to cry..really cant take his crying..tink he has very good lung...can cry continuously for 45mins till he saw me...once he saw me..tears stop..gave me a cheeky grin...then kept flip n crawl for me to see....
I tot i was able to stay at home to take care of him...bt the fact is that i cant....he is too cranky for me to handle..tink some of my ex col or fds could be mocking at me bah....i still tot given my character i shd be able to stay at home ...sigh..

Haiyo...just had monkey show at home. My fault lah...kaypo tot want E to learn how feed himself so just now gave him some teething rusks to lick. This boy got abit of teeth so managed to bite a small piece off, then dunno how to swallow, choke n vomit all over the sofa. Poor thing. This bloody Nestle...how can they call their rusk teething rusk when bb's can actually chew a piece off n choke on it one. Think will stick 2 the bellamy one altho my boy just lick lick a few times then throw onto floor liao cos so hard like dog biscuits like tat

U shd buy a wet suit too rather than a cute swimming costume cos I m afraid D might catch a chill when she comes out of the water. My place got pool so more convenient than going to public pool ya

But I will only start later mayb 8 mths when E starts eating more. For now I will grind some ikan bilis n put in his rice cereal to add calcium n omega oils.

wow, so many posts - read till eyes blur
you ladies wanted to know what it was like taking care of twins, right? well, yesterday was a bad day, becos of mon nite. i always wake & feed my twins at ard midnight for their last feed before letting them sleep thru the night. but on mon nite, after feeding my boy, i let hubby feed my girl and put her to sleep becos i needed to go express BM. instead of making sure she's quiet (we use a pacifier) or asleep, he just left her in her cot. her babbling eventually woke her brother up (they sleep in the same room). we've learnt from experience that leaving one twin awake in the same room will ALWAYS wake the other one up, and hubby conveniently forgot in his impatience to go back to tinkering with his computer. with his sleep interrupted, the boy woke up really cranky. i was really upset with hubby and both being tired, we snapped at each other. at first i left my boy for hubby to settle since it was his mistake that resulted in this little fiasco, but the poor boy cried and howled till 2am in the morning. in the end i couldn't take it any more, and got up to rock him to sleep. so there i was, at 2am in the morning, falling asleep on my feet carrying a crying baby with hubby knocked out on the bed. luckily, tired out from crying, he fell asleep quickly. consequently, i was like a zombie the whole of yesterday... took me 24hrs to recover. but fortunately, this is quite atypical. usu bedtime is a peaceful, quiet affair becos we've the routines/habits down pat. all it takes is one little mistake for the whole thing to unravel though. whew... ;P
i visited the dec06 mommies blog (saw the url thru bloom's nick - great way to "promote" the site, bloom!). had a great time reading thru all the diff mommies' blogs. at least now i can connect the names to the faces. all the babies were soooo cute!
with so many blogs, i'm still slowly going thru each one by one. btw, i really like that many of the bbs here hv traditional names (like hannah, kathleen, mandy, hayley, just to name a few)...
one last thing - did anyone here do the optional vacc jabs like pneumoccocal or rotavirus? i wld like to, but i find it very ex (multiplied by 2 for me).

*sayang sayang* i understand how u feel. rem e time mandy changed overnite? for 2 weeks, she has crying fit/s every single day! she din used 2 cry so much last time. n when she cries, she wld cry until choke, whole face red n lotsa lotsa tears. so qi cham like tt. n usu she cries 4 more than 1 hr.
we oso dunno wat happened. suddenly she just cldn't sleep. even when she's fallen asleep, she'd wake up after half an hr n repeat e crying. so poor thing. so everyday i's highly strung, always v tense. can't relax at all. then one day, e old mandy returned. just like tt.
but now, she still wakes up occasianally at nite. feed her liao she'd still cry n can't sleep. need 2 coax her abit. she din used 2 b like tt. but they wld change one mah. can't expect them 2 b e same 4ever. they need 2 grow up n slowly slowly, we'd b able 2 understand them more as they grow more assertive n their personality shines thru.
if u really wanna go bk 2 wk, no harm considering. dun need 2 care bt wat others tink.
oh yah, mandy's nap times oso change until i oso dun bother 2 keep track. just go w e flow n follow their cues lor, we can't control everything.

Yah, you just reminded me of another fear of having #2. Cos I have genes for twins (my mum is a twin), I'm scared that I might end up having twins for #2, then I'll end up with 3!! That's what happened to my cousin (whose father is my mum's twin). She had 2 kids liao, then her 3rd pregnancy is twins, so she end up having 4 kids!!! She nearly went crazy... I am also very scared that will happen to me

hugz hugz....I know it's extremely frustrating when they are cranky. 2 weeks ago, JT was also very cranky, dunno what she wants. But now she's ok liao. Hang in there, the phase will pass. No harm going back to work if you feel happier that way. I always feel a happy mum = happy baby, no matter if the mummy is SAHM or FTWM.
