I only brot the inflatable bath tub, cos hotel bath tub too big take to long to fill with water! Sink is tooooo small!! inflatable tub can roll till quite small, so its no problem.

I brought stroller, but didn't bring baby playpen, it was provided by hotel. We let bb sleep on bed surrounded by pillows. We dun practise co-sleeping....scared cannot break habit later. She sleep on her own bed as we were give a room with a queen bed and 2 singles.

Dunno how Hannah sleep till her legs lidat...she hv many funny positions...in fact, the V formation became more V as she move her legs...her daddy very impressed with her!

Hannah was ok throughout the trip...no fussing over new environment or different weather...it was just like normal...strangers look at her, she smile at them or stare at them with her eyes big big...

One funny story was, sometimes she drink milk too fast, after a while will "throw up" a bit...one day, we were at Target, I was looking at clothes, the my hb went "quick, get the cloth, she threw up on me!" after i clean him, i turn and looked on the floor and saw that she had thrown up milk all over a pair of black pants on the rack nearby!!! I told my hb "better get out of here quick!" i feel a bit guilty la...looking back, i shd hv 'fessed up....but i didnt want to pay for those pants leh!!

my BM ss has been dropping since abt a mth ago, now really very little, so i reduce pumping to 2 times and now once a day...will stop by next week i think. Anyway, it's been 6 mths and Hannah oso start solids. And I am kinda relieved to stop oso la...it is easier lor...

wat i know is the less you pump, you will slowly lose ss of bm.... if you really want to stop then fine. if not you have to perservere!

but tim also drink milk quite fast. he usually finish up his 7-8oz within 10 mins! and yes, when burping he'll throw up one mouthful. but that's fine la. i probably would do the same as you and leave the place tho it doesn't appear like right lor....sigh!

how many days did you spend there? i'm going to travel with 2 kids 5yrs and tim will be 8mths by then. i guess cannot be too ambitious and do too much within a day.

lucky no one was nearby, so no one saw...we run before anyone notice...

I requested for hotel to provide baby playpen...just in case. But I did my research for baby friendly hotels with kitchenette.

I think i oso ready to stop BFg...it was a good experience, but can be tiring and time consuming when expressing. I find that I hv less time at work becos I have to spend time expressing. It's been a few months liao, so I am ready to stop, hence since ss drop, i pump less and soon can stop totally.

It helped that during the trip, my hb very helpful. He carry Hannah while I shop.

ANother funny story, on the flight back, Hannah pooed...it stank so much, we went to the toilet to change her. Once I open her diaper, wah! the smell! My hb close the door and left me to change her cos he cannot tahan the smell! He say he close door to save the other passengers!

So i suffer the smell in the small confined space lor!

I was there for abt 12 days. Sydney and Blue Mountains and back to Sydney. We usually go out in morning, return to rest after lunch and then out in late afternoon. Because sun set abt 5p and it was quite cold in Blue Mountains at nite, we stay indoors by 6pm and cook in the cottage. In Sydney, not so cold, so we will go out for dinner and roam around.

I must say it is different from like it was just my hb and me travelling...those days we travelled Europe and explored on foot and walking tours. This time, I prefered a country that speaks English, is wheelchair/pram friendly, and is easy to buy brands of diapers and formula milk I recognise. I must say OZ is a very easy place to bring babies to that has cold weather, plus the flight is short compared to Europe. The air is also quite fresh if you go to parks and at the Blue Mountains. We took the Sky tram, trolley, etc and walked on the Boardwalk while at Katoomba. When Hannah is older, can bring to other further countries.

One thing to note, Oz has very strict laws abt babies in car seats. So if you plan to rent a car, make sure u rent a carseat and I think your older boy needs a booster too. If ride in taxi also need. For us, decided not to drive and depended on public transport. When we take taxi, we will ask hotel to call and book one with carseat. No extra charge for the carseat. Alternatively, u bring yuor won like some of my friends do...

i also sahm... i same as u leh, still dun dare bring baby out alone... so far, my boy only go sgh for his appts, & nearby tiong bahru plaza on wkends..when hubby & i went to have lunch & do grocery shopping.... only once i pushed him in the stroller all the way alone as hubby went to cut hair first... otherwise, is always with hubby ard... i super lousy...dunno how to maneuver the stroller on escalator...so far i still dun dare bring my boy out alone...
during wkdays, my dad wld also be at my place to help me with my boy so i can do my own stuff at times... unless he has something on, then i wld be alone with my boy lor...at home still ok lar i find...

my son who used to wake up 2 times at nite now wake up 3-4 times at nite!!! damn exhausted man. ruffybear is in the same situation with roy.

i have intro cereal to my son but the same problem continued. i think ruffybear intro 2 solid meal and roy still wake up that often.

coming here to voice out my unhappiness today....really PISSED off.....

despite telling my mum several times but she just won't listen. situation is like that...she feedback that the teat was too small for the flow of brown rice last fri when we brought bb tx home. ok, we widen the hole in the avent teat (teat 2) and brought it back on sun. but she said still too small so I gave her those teddy bear design milk bottle on mon whereby the teat has much bigger hole and is for 0-12mth bb. she said it is ok only but still can widen it. I told her go ahead and widen cos I still have 2 extra one. she told me to get another bigger size teat and I explained to her that even I get the biggest size teat 4 also no use cos it contain 4 holes and the hole are small and similar to other teat size except got more hole only. I told her several times since last sun that dun buy any avent teat cos I'm gg to buy during the sale. then on mon, I told hubby to cut the hole of the pigeon teat (currently is s size) and he widen a big hole. on tue, my mum feedback that the hole is too big and might cause choke. I told her she needed to place pillow and raise up bb tx (has explained the reason why need to raise up and she said bb tx all along since 3mth onward has been lying flat) or else carry her 45 degree (she 'argue' that bb tx dun like) when giving her the brown rice and dun let her lie flat (dunno she still do that or not).

so she feedback that she will not use the pigeon bottle and instead use the teddy bear bottle(dunno she got widen the hole cos did not check). I told her hubby will be buying the teat and only can collect on wed evening. then on thur, I told mum again that we will widen the avent teat further and try over the wkend and told her again that dun buy the teat. she told me that she has told my sis to buy. then I quickly sms my sis NOT to buy teat and my sister reply me what is teat? so I explained to her and she said ok.

today (was on leave), when I went to her hse and repeat the same thing again and told her we will try out toml, widen the teat 2 and then use teat 4 for milk only. she told me that ok go ahead but must tell me which is which to use cos she dunno how to differientate. then I told her there's a number indicated there. she said ok and said she will use the teddy bear design bottle first and said teddy bottle still gd but sometimes it will leak so teat not so tight(told her to be careful previously to close tightly to prevent leaking). what make me PISSED/ANGRY off is that she deceived me when I accidentally found out that she has purchased another pair of teat 2. she still act blur that what huh, where got the extra teat when I mentioned it to her. buy then admit loh DUN NEED TO DECEIVE ME. HATE PPLS DO THAT TO ME. why I accidentally is when I carry bb tx in the kitchen, bb tx like to touch thing on the kitchen top there so just so concidence that bb tx happened to pick up the pink small cup (facing down) and then guess what under it is the teat. then I took it to see (my mum is at the other side) and then place back and then confront her. she still act blur.

so 'quarrel' and raise my voice cos so pissed off and fed up. I told her this is not the first issues like that and she gave all kind of bullls&*%$t defending reasons. then I asked my sis why she buy it and she told me my fault huh...it already purchase that morning liao. I was carrying bb tx sitting on the sofa and then so pissed off that I sat there (trying to hold bck tear but can't) staring the air. bb tx is waiting to be fed (that time is already 0800pm) and I just sat there.hubby then carried her into the rm. so %&*#$ angry...then after bb tx has fed, I just carry her pack my thing and go off.

another thing curious is that my mum bought 1 blouse for me at OG during sale last sat. then I told her I can't wear and told her that one must exchange it within 3 days fr the date of purchase cos it is OG policy esp it is sale item. she told me ok one ah and will go and exchange next wkend. but hor...on thur, she passed me the same blouse and told me that my sis exchange. what is curious is she gave me another blouse - so total 2 blouses. my sis who dun shop one and how can she go and exchange and then buy another diff design one. curious and pondering which i did not confront her. she only said my sis exchange for her. hmm... i am thinking is she took my gar along to OG? at least tell me the truth mah, dun need to hide, if I found out, I will be $&^*& angry and pissed off like the teat issue, still trying to entertain my qns etc...

hai...bb tx has been crying when she stepped out of my mum's plc 10 mins later on the way to the bus stop. hai......then trying to pacify her while kept on talking to her (tough lost voice liao but still trying to gek voice out). she cry 10 mins on bus and then I quickly pat her to slp and then use her handerchief to cover her eyes and she doze off... it is so crowded on the bus, luckily, a kind hearted guy gave up seat for me. last time, one guy gave up seat for me followed by the guy sitting next to him and an india mother and daughter just sit in and the guy told the mum that this seat is for the mum and the bb only. haa...wondering she got the embrassment look or not. hubby told the guy that it is ok, he can stand but the guy said never mind he can have the sit cos hubby is carrying numberous of thing...


hai..ok, got to go and pump and turn in and prepare for tml bf contest. hope bb tx won't be cranky.
so moody..today, ss is low also and my throat also very itchy/dry and tend to cough out. dunno how to talk for tml bf contest.

Just go with ur mum lor, no choice one lah. Like my case, if I still have to depend on my mum to take care of Reyna, I will just have to follow her flow to let Reyna sleeps in sarong lor.

Anyway, it is not advisable to put cereal in baby bottles and that's the reason y Avent teats only increase the no. of holes and not the size of the holes. So far until Reyna, I've nvr been feeding cereal in bottles. I've always spoon feed them to ensure they are in sitting position.

like my MIL.. told her specifically on which milk to give bb.. even explain y i did it.. she still got mixed up... den tt day while washing bottle, i found fish skin n chilli seed in the tub soaking the bottle.. was so angry.. but wat to do.. close one eye lor.. got to appreciate tt she help me look aft bb..

as for bottlefeeding the cereals, experts state tt it hinders the development of swallowing.. but it's really hard to make our parents understand tt lah.. my mil wanted to use bottle initially too.. den when i told her i want to spoonfeed.. she was stunned.. start telling me bb dunnoe how to swallow etc etc to make me switch to bottle.. but i firmly told her tt spoonfeed bb so tt he can learn to swallow well.. den she nothing to say n follow wat i suggested lor.. i think i lucky lah.. my mil dun dare insist on bottle...

y'day, try during evening time for her to latch on (i was pumping and bb tx is crying at my mil's hse), hubby is trying to pacfify her but can't. so miracle, will pop her mouth into the human pacificier, she immediate doze off... haa.. I told hubby that he shd use my ebm to bath so that bb tx recognise mummy's smell.

yesterday, I was at KKH bf contest. bb tx cry when she stepped into the room. there were 2 ppls in the rm. one of the person gave her the toy to play and bb tx even cry louder. ai-yo...

bb tx 's bottom skin peeled off due to abrasion on her drypantz. her bottom so red man and shd be pain pain. no wonder, her hand always placed at her backside. hai..will need to tell her today when I bought bb tx back.

It's quite frustrating when our parents interfere too much into how we take care of our kids. Worst still when they don't follow what we have told them abt how to take care of the kids. The instructions are not to make them look stupid but its TO MAKE THE JOB OF TAKING CARE OF THE KID SOOOOOOOOO MUCH EASIER!!!! Then they don't have to second guess why the poor tot is crying or throwing tantrums... hai, deep deep long sigh..

Talk about MUM/MIL interferring with taking care of kids. I really pissed off with my mum also. keep on giving Ryan sweets to eat even though I told her not to..really sianz with her.. and her methods. Try to overide me and say stuff with her "acid" mouth. However she knows I won't back down on my stand and since she only plays with them she can afford to spend less time with them on the weekends Rather packed them off to see MIL anytime coz we have the same thinking of proper food n no unhealthy snacks in between.

hai..so how's yr bbsitter then? ai-yo, today, brought bb tx to my mum'plc. mum 's face is black man...and crying man...what did I do man...she always said she is very open (kai fan) but in fact, she is not.after that, after feeding bb tx, she told me to go and have dinner. then she just towel dry bb tx and I told her to be careful with bb tx 's bottom cos her skin at the bottom peeled off due to the diaper abrasion. she then told me see lah, told u drypantz better other diaper not gd. I told her it is the drypantz which cause it and then hubby came and explain not only drypantz, other diaper also will(the diaper dunno how it get in betw the bottom loh) to ask her to be careful next time.

got a request fr my mum that to ask me to buy walker so that bb tx won't be confine in the rm.actually, dun really support the idea to let bb tx sit on the walker. but what to do, better buy one (will be looking at second hand cos i also bought second hand high chair) before mum go and buy it.

heinz promotion is in 7-8 JULY at IMM. when I bought the Heinz product, bb tx and I went to enter the Heinz bb contest. all one has to do is to take a snap of photo by giving yr bb consuming their product. if u see photo 'Happily licking spoon in front of Heinz booth' which I posted above, the product - Vanila custard is given free by Heinz. I had tasted it and the taste is not so gd, a little sweet and is like those cream puff custard taste.

as for the upload of the pic, I think the second and the third pic are big bec I did reduce it much to smaller size.more pic of bb tx and me can be found in the blog.

hmm for the storing of Heinz cereal, dun need to store inside fridge. one need to store in the tight container and must consume in 28 days. there 's a small print in found at the side stating the method of storage and the consumption thing. for me, I store inside those cny goodies container loh while I just give some of it to my mum and store it in small plastic container.

oic. yup, quite ex to pay.anyway, just let bb tx explore since she is quite stranger fear. do roy cry when he saw unfamiliar face or go to crowd plc? in the end, get goodies bag which contains 1 packet of huggies m size diaper (2 pieces), all kind of sample cream from palmers, kodomo shampoo and bath solution, a lot of discount voucher, complimentary spa/facial voucher, bb bib(pic promoting rotivirus) etc...

hmm...even with intro the semi solid to him, roy still feed 2-3hrs? bb tx today miss 2 feeds liao cos she slp like log from 10am - 1300+. she supposed to be feed at ard 10am but when I am boiling the water to prepare the ebm, she doze off while waiting so let her slp. this little missy of mine woke me up at 0910am (her first fed start at 0700am then prepare the milk till 0720m then feed her and hubby feed her while I washed the bottle after pumping, then I doze off after that and in bet dunno this little gar got slp or not), kept on scratching my face, pulling my hair loh. hubby placed her sleeping beside me and when she dun wan to slp, she also dun let ppl slp.

afcai..my bbsitter ok lah.. certain things still have to close one eye loh (like she feed kate waffle! I told her not to hope she stopped) and letting her watch too much tv till she fall asleep... hahaha..u find the custard not good but obviously tx loves it!!!! wah..still got 1 month before can go and stock up on heinz products

We are quite blessed she is easy with new environment and weather and is easy to travel with. Though, ya, sometimes she cry in car seat or pram, but that's okie lor.

It's no different from being here in SG...

I think Hannah can now recognise pple and not so open to strangers carrying her liao.

I took Hannah for her Aquaducks trial session last Saturday. She wasn't too sure abt being in so much water and cried a bit. But we'll be continuing the lessons to get her used to it. Think it's a matter of getting her exposed and used to it. I must say the coach knows how to handle babies in water. I'll be trying out a new time slot at 3pm this Saturday. Apparently, it is a new class with babies born Nov/Dec 06. Any of you mummies in that group?

Hi Afcai,
have already explained to my mum numerous times about the harmful effect of sweets. I think it does not work coz she herself is a junk food junkie.
Yeah..roy still feeds a lot even on 2 meals solid... which can be between 1/4-1/3 rice bowl size. Maybe need to introduce more ingredients liao. HE doesn't have stranger anxiety.only cries when bored or dirty diaper. However if there are strangers he doesn't like he will turn his head away or look away and don't interact with them.

Mummies, finally couldn't resist the temptation and bot jumperoo for Evee over the weekend. But felt heartpain bec it will only be used by Evee since we stopping at 2 and seems that Evee doesn't like it , kept crying even when inside. Really dunno what to do with her, kept wanting to be carried especially when she is back in the evenings after we pick her up after work, she will keep crying once reach home when we put her in bumbo and will continue crying (scratching her ears till bleed) till we carry her.hiaz...

Dora & Bloom, Evee seems to have ezcema on her right lower inner eyelid too...jia lark, like that how to apply any moisturiser or steriod cream? kinda red and a few days already..initially thought maybe red due to rubbing of eyes.

Afcai, understand your frustrations..old folks are like that they tend to do opposites of what we asked them to do. To them they use the same methods to bring us up and they didn't mean any harm to our bbs. I also get into conflicts with my mum over care taking issues but nowadays less already bec sometimes really have to close one eye if not i am afraid if we "push" them to their limits, they may just tell us to bring bb home and take care on our own since we are so unhappy with them. If that happens, we are "stucked". They are not obliged to help us and in fact their willingness to help is already very good compared to bb taken care by bbsitters or infant care.I know it may be difficult but have to try if not our relationship with our mums may be badly strained in the long run. The heinz fair at IMM, which part of IMM will it be?

Bloom, the heinz cereal dun have to store in fridge, store in air-tight container good enough since will be consumed within 1 month.

Bobianah, din realise there is a diaper changing station in flight, never noticed. Is it difficult to change diaper on flight? I was thinking not really comfy already when visiting toilet let alone change diaper like very unstable. What airline did you take?

the issue with mom, sigh! but you have to realise its easier to talk to your own mum. if it happened to be your in-law, then its worse, say or dun say also very difficult. just be thankful that you have family to take care of your bb. i have to resort to leaving my kids with maid. very heartache one lei! as long as your bb is healthy and not sick, just 'kan kai'.

as for the diaper issue, my #1 has gold backside. cannot use any other diaper except pampers premium until she was 18 months old. sigh! just be very careful. bb will cry and not sleep well if backside is sore. : (

think girls are really developing faster, there's this bb one month younger (jan 07) also can recognise ppl liao and cry when strangers carry her. for me, mine is still ok with anyone. : )

QSG, Dora, just remember soemthing (since QSG mention abt evee having eczema)... last week (Friday before alabone's outing) I bought the Renew Skin Therapy (MLM product, but saw it at a shop near Ginza) then apply on her once on Friday, but hb also apply steriod cream on Friday night..then Sat u all see Kate's face lah..still got eczema..then Sat I apply a few times..then Sunday morning wake up most of the eczema gone liao... and then she was eczema free for next few days ( I apply once a day) ..but Thur she scratched cos hot ..then got little red bumps (heat rash).. I still apply but the heat rash never go away. But note that Kate's eczema is different from Evee's and JT's so don't know if this will work on them or not... But I am also feeding kate chinese med so it might not be 100% the work of the moisturiser.

QSG, last time skin speicalist said dont apply steriod cream on eyelid... so dont do it ok..luckily kate's eczema on eyelid went away. I was also very tempted to get jumperoo but thinking that only max 10kg (hoping Kate will reach that wgt soon but fat hope!) so I didn't buy....
