i started my boy with nestle brown rice and he like it very much. a bit slow in feeding only he cry liao. Then i switch to Heinz white rice cereal and he refuse to open his mouth. When i kept trying, he cry. At first i thot he didn't like cereal afterall, but i switch back to nestle brown rice and he happily gobble down everything. i think bb don't like the heinz rice cereal coz it is quite tasteless while the nestle brown rice is sweet. Now i mix both together and he happily gobble down the food. maybe u can try to mix them.

I tried changing FM already...worse results than mamex. Think bb really dun want milk. He happily eat gerber's bottled food. Eat until not enuff. Then the heinz rice cereal when make wif FM as soon as spoon get near his mouth he turn away n if I force him he will cry. Today I tried the rice cereal again with water instead of FM n he eat leh. Headache. 2 days never drink much milk lose .4kg liao. Just brot him to c PD cos afraid he suffering frm dehydration cos he sleep alot like tired like tat. Nochoice liao must give him solids. BTW, I hv a large tin of NAN HA, opened a few days ago only. Used once only then my boy dun like taste. Anybody want can give 2 u. Otherwise I throw away wasted liao.

u knock off so early....today, straits times got a big advertisment on motherhood. got lot of discount for the first 50 customers. eg PLAYPEN sell at $29 (original price is $129)- first 50 customer fr 7pm start, friso 3 sells at $1, nan goodies bag at $5, stroller etc...

oic, pumping while watching tv. while pumping, I can only staring at the milk dripping. but now, I read those babies care book while pumping or else I will doze off.

ask u huh, how do u wash the rubber tube (a bit moudly/cloudly inside) that connect to the dual breast pump?

re:motherhood fair->can help me to check if ther eis heinz cereal for 7mth selling cheaper than $2.55 and also Nan2 selling at $8 or cheaper. thks.

there is this brush for washing straw from pigeon. very good for washing such small tubes too. i used it to wash my older ger's water bottle. : )

Dora, at least ur activity super low..for me its 'what activity' esp now when tummy bigger than chest... yest 1 colleage and my bbsitter thot i am pregnant..alamat...

afcai, by right should change every few months or if it changes colour..but if u r like me (only use once a day during weekdays mah) then maybe it can 'last' longer?

mbb..ahahha.. at least meg still wana eat right? kate will twist and turn to avoid the food..even bbsitter was saying why 6 months + liao only can eat a few spoonful per meal...

yup, started my bb tx solid (rice cereal) last week. give her a more dilute Heinz rice cereal. before that, my mum give her white bread to eat. I also give her brown rice mixed with ebm. is yr boy on fm or ebm?

bb tx loves food also, if dun give her,she will 'scold' u in her bb language and use her rubber duck to bang the high chair if she is sitting there. so funny...

Lil, Kate already drinking Nan 2 HA cos her papa cannot wait for corrected 6 months. So I think I will forgo lah. You can try posting the the free item thread and see if other mommy else drink it like creamer in coffee/milo.

afcai..ahah.I never say kate loves food Every week makes me lost my temper when I feed solid feed. tx is so cute! At least she can indicate that she wants food..... Kate can only cry and sometimes really have no idea what she wanted. She is born 15 Nov 5.5 weeks premature.

afcai, yeah..maybe cos that time i was very stressed in work and personal life..but overall she is quite a cheerful bb... so thank goodness!

rem seenig the ice pack at one of the stores at KKH.. i think one of the more popular name is coleman ice pack.

Lil, expensive creamer better than throw it away loh... that time I got 2 half tins (one at home one at bbsitter's) of Nan 1 when hb decided to switch immediately to Nan 1 HA cos of kate's eczema..now still got creamer..harden alrady whatsmore....

For those who cook porridge for bb liao, what type of rice u all use? Normal rice huh? my mil was telling me got simi rice for bbask me go buy I so blurgot sell such rice meh?

Those food make into puree and freeze it, how u cook it and give your babies huh? use hot water to warm it or what?

yup, me staying at bt gombak, hmm...yup, maybe weekend can come to collect or else have to ask hubby to collect during weekdays after 7pm cos need to deliver ebm to my mum'plc after work and will only be back ard 0915-0945pm.
whick part of cck? if yew tee side, I can ask my brother to collect cos he almost go there daily these few weeks.


hmm u stay in the 'high' class ward loh at level 7 type. for me, I'm staying in B2+ ward only at level 3.

my mum bought brown rice from medical hall. those very small gain type and much easier to cook but ex(ard $4 per dunno how many grams) loh. if u get those normal brown rice (1kg) type, one can get fr supermarket at $2.xx.brown rice more nutrient than white rice loh. it si gd for bb 's legs. will be using small slow cooker to cook or steam it.

forgot to mention, its not those branded type hor. its just those styrofoam ones. you have to put ice in it so tat the bm will be chilled. its ok, you let me know again. i'm at limbang which is quite close to yew tee. if come over weekend wil be more convenient. dunno wat time reach home on weekdays.

Think it "xin mi"...meaning rice which are fresher. Should be able to get from NTUC. I didnt get special rice for BB just use whatever we are eating to prepare porridge

My boi also drinking Nan but he is drinking Nan 2. Otherwise will get from you. Give away is good dont throw so wasteful. I alway scold Jovey when he didnt finish his milk even though he dont understand

is it xin mi? its just new crop. usually its harvested in oct - dec. by this time its almost the same as other rice that we buy. if you buy it in nov or dec, you will see this shine on the rice when its cooked. : )

I read tat most of u r introducing semi solid food to yr bbs...I jus bot a home baby food maker fm Pigeon...it can grate, grind, strain n sqeeze food...u may find it useful...altho I hv not tried it yet...my fren provided gd reviews on it...

Oso...we can actually grind our own rice powder or ikan bilis powder to provide a better consistency in bb food...usin a miller...

I hv been so bored bein a SAHM nowadys...dun tink I can survive for long at home...

Actually bringing baby for holiday wasn't difficult at all...not much diff with being at home...just bring more stuff along onli. Plus, Australia is very baby pram/wheelchair friendly.

berry, my colleague also buy the 'new' rice for her whole family. I think she said it is more nutrious or something. och/choo said can get at those shops that still sell rice by weight. For cooking of frozen food, kimi said cook till piping hot. I tried using warm water only (like warming up ebm) and somehow the texture was not smooth.

Lil...ayah..men are like that one lah... my hb also like tat..will rather leave things around then to give it to pp who has use for it. And he still does not believe in recycling after 4 years f marriage.

Phew, went to the Motherhood fair with a few mummies here. Wow superly crowded, cannot imagine the crowd during the next few days. Not much "damage" done at the fair though except a training pants which cost me $32 and GOSH! the sale gal recognised me from the TV!!!

More "damage" was done at JL sale, bought toys for my gals and damaged $40

Now that most of us have started our babies on solid, can anyone advise on how much water the baby needs to drink? Thanks in advance.

My boy is on tbf and i used to give him one tablespoon of water after each feed. now that one of his milk feed is replaced by solid, i am concerned that he may be dehydrated.

Make sure when u feed him solid u feed him a few spoonfuls of water between mouthfuls of food. I dun measure how much I give him. Also I will feed him water from bottle whenever I think he is thirsty but sometimes he also dun suck. Dun think u hv to worry abt dehydration if he is only on one solid a day n at othertimes he is drinking his milk well. My boy was only drinking less than 400ml-500ml milk the last 2-3 days n was urinating much less. Brot him to c PD n PD say is still ok as long as he is urinating n urine is clear.
