Actually I didn't know so many mummies here are interested that's why I didn't post info on the babies prom earlier. If I had known so many of you want, I could have asked hubby's colleague to help you all buy, then we can all go together mah.... Next year lah, when I get news of the baby's prom, I'll let you all know so that we can all go together.

A fren asked me out to visit another fren tom after breakfast...I told her tat Cae has class n I wont b able to make it at tat timin...then she juz said tat I seemed so busy nowadays wif my kid...so I told her straight tat unless my dad or hb is at home...I dun feel gd abt leavin him alone wif the maid while I go "galivantin"...unless I brin him to some of the gatherin as well...which I do for some of my other frens...haizzz...honestly I dun feel gd after a "lecture" fm her...

Do u all hv such an issue wif yr single or childless frens???...or I shld let go a bit???...

Hi Mummies...Sorry MIA for so long...been stress partly bcos I was also worried abt my driving test which I had today. Was worried if fail hv to retake...where got time. Anyway, one worry down cos I PASSED LE!!! In fact almost didn't have any points deducted except at the last minute I chiong yellow light (hahaha) n kena minus 8 points. I blame it on the tester cos he kept chatting to me until I also cannot concentrate

Mummies...I am also upset cos it seems like we wld hv to stay in shenzhen rather than HK. HK immigration v strict n wun recognise my parents as our dependents so cannot apply long stay visa for them. I dun wanna stay there alone with E n w/o my parents cos my hb will be away most of the time. So looks like we will be staying in Shenzhen. Nebermind lah...hb say if stay there will buy car n hire driver so we can go over frequently to buy baby's foodstuff. Sniff sniff...so unhappy!

We signed up the package together with all the mandatory jabs and tot it will be cheaper. This PD very gan. Asked us to do jab by jab so that he can collect consultation charges every time!!!!
Regards job, I also begin to feel a bit of tension whenever I'm taking my off.
Singapore still have a long way to go for a family friendly working environment.

javier also started to be veri clingky to mi these few days. sigh.. now he refuses to sleep on his own. He oni willing to lie down n zzz on my arms. I can oni put him down on his mattress when he is in deep sleep. I dunno whether he feel lack of security coz my hub went oversea work for a week. Especially last Thursday, he cried all the way home when I drove him back from the childcare. He wanted me to carry him but I was driving. sigh.. He also cried when I left him in the childcare for 2 mornings. Thou my hub is back in sg, jav still veri clinky to me. Jus hope he will go bk to his usual self soon.

dora..sigh..thats why..this country very 'practical', can bully then bully..my pay is also lower than my peers cos my first co pay me lower cos i din have good grades so they think i am desperate (in a way i am lah..cos only 1 job offer)... u notice how yest she even refuse to sit/stand on her father's lap? oh and btw she slept past midnight.then wake up at 1am+ and cry for an hour..hb said no more night outings (kai wan xiao!)

sophia no longer have morning naps for many months liao. she takes a slightly longer nap in the afternoon {anywhere from <1 hour (bad days) to 3 hours(good days)}. and recently zzz v late sometimes at 3pm+. and everything got push back, including her nitetime zzz.

during the day, my gal is not really clingy to anyone (but must have either one of us w her). sometimes she will insist on a certain person to play or be w her. but will accept explaination like for eg daddy needs to work, will play w u later. tis gal oso abit siowsiow one, for eg: about 2 months back, out of the blue, she suddenly insist that my hubby bathe her. if not she doesnt wanna bath and will cry. my hubby blurrr, coz he only bath her once only when she was a few months old. after that never liao. this continue for like 2 weeks+, then after that she suddenly U-turn and only want my mum or me to bath her. then now its back to insisting for my hubby to bathe her. same w other activity oso... she will dictate who feed her, who read storybook for her..

but for nitetime zzz, she will most definately look for my mum. so some weekends when my mum stay over at my bro's place or go back muar, we will bring her out till v late n she zzz in the car,

then we carry her to her bed (with utmost care, coz if she wakes, then she will start looking for my mum).

Aiya its like tat one lah... I think a lot of my singles friends sort of gave up on me/us liao... still remembered we went for a friends farewell get-together... we went off at 8pm, that time JT was still abt 4mth... everyone commented so early, just started only.. blah blah blah... but like Roo said, if they really value you as a friend, they'll try to work around your schedule. For us, cos we're the only ones w/o any help, so we have to bring JT everywhere we go... so now our friends will ask us to suggest place/time to accomodate us... of cos there're those that just automatically disappeared...

Congrats on passing your driving! so you're going to stay in Shenzhen? Not sure abt driving in China tho, you might want to check, esp with their driving conditions, and its on the diff side of the wheel compared to HK. With the recent milk powder incident, you really should buy your food in HK, altho a lot are also imported from China, but at least the checks in HK is a lot stricter.

JT also refused to sleep last nite even tho she was so dead tired... slept at 9.30pm instead of her usual 8.30pm. Had to leave her to cry for a while.... and she woke up 4 times to cry from 9.30pm to 01.30am.... But she was really over stimulated lah... wedding lunch and then SSO at nite... I was the one who told hubby cannot make her life so exciting anymore
By the way, hubby also commented that Kate seems to have toned down a lot compared to the last time he saw her. He was very impressed that Kate was able to sit thro the whole concert. It was JT was getting restless towards the end and went around calling everyone Uncle, Auntie (Faintz....) cos she was getting tired and cranky. But she really enjoyed the music. Heng ah, if not the sso baby prom tics wasted. So did you managed to get the tics?
Ok lah, they will change one.. I just said JT has mummy-only moments, then last nite it was suddenly daddy-only moments... she woke up in the middle of the nite screaming for daddy 3x... normally she screams for Mummy... toddlers are just wierd lah...

tough, I told gynae that I still got spotting (sometimes yellowish and sometimes light brown cot), gynae also did not say anything. she gave me duphaston and say hope spotting will go away after wk 12.

today, first day at work, felt like a star cos everyone I met along the corridor will ask me where I disappear as they did not see me for so long. this morning, my boss finally say something human liao telling me not to stress so much,dun worry, need to take care of myself and anything can discuss with him.

Denise oso not speaking much. Cannot say HALO or THANK YOU as compared to her peers in BJG. Sm r even younger than her. I think I can only 'an wei' myself by enjoying the time now where she dun talk so much.

My parents are still helping me with Denise.
Was hoping to send her to playgrp mayb aft her 2nd bd provided my parents dun mind to stay at my place for 4nites. I feel she is not doing anything constructive. Otherwise, I may need to send her to full day cc. This is a struggle. Was hoping to drag till she is 3.

Def not going back to the TB PD anymore!!! Will do the last 2 jabs with other PD or GP.
Denise was down with flu and cough last few days. We brought her to a GP near our place. I think he is even better than the TB silly PD. He opend the sweet and holded the wrapper to lure Denise to open her mouth for checking the throat. Then he passed to me asking me to hold the wrapper and gave her a small bite.
That silly TB PD, everytime when Denise cried, he will just passed her a piece of biscuit without washing his hand and not even thinking what she had touched before coming in his office. Imagine the toys that so many children were playing in the clinic. Whenever I'm out of his room, I just threw the biscuit away.

May I know how long did it take for the lump to go away for Cae's case?
The GP did mention that minority tods with have lumps due to their body reaction with the jab.
I told the GP sm experiences with the PD. He tried his best to answer me in a very diplomatic way.
That money faced PD never once did 2 jabs for Denise. Think its a blessing in disguise judging from his skill. HENG!!!!!!!

tis is what a fren shared with me sometime back.
she often cane/hit her kids.
one day, her ger (ard 7 yr old) misbehaved as usual.
while she was hitting her ger, her daughter asked her how much harder can she hit coz she will allow mummy to hit harder now n after tat she will carry on misbehaving.

it's really tricky. but after hearing her story, i decided to stick to naughty corner n stern warning.

I think I saw it some months ago at kiddy palace. Think its Munchkin brand. Not sure if they still have it now.
I dun think its a good idea to lock tods inside a dark room alone leh... it may cause claustrophobia or phobia of darkness as they are still very young. I will just leave JT there cry after explaning to her why its wrong, and ignore her when she throws tantrums. She'll stop when she realised she doesn't get the attention.

I made very few mooncakes this year only leh... Had to escape to my Dad's place to make it before JT comes and messes up everything again... Anyway all finished liao cos my homemade one can only keep a few days nia....

Try to buy fully imported stuff as far as possible. Or buy reputable foreign brands. Like I know for my company, the milk powder that is made in China, all ingredients are imported from overseas, only made there with strict controls. That's why the price is the same as Singapore.

Ya ya...storerm n bathrm are both equally dangerous places for a toddler to be in. My bathrooms, toilets r off limits to my boy. So many stories of toddlers drowning in small volumes of water. Scary. U must educate ur hb

Playing with ur parents daily n getting lots of TLC...that's constructive emotional development mah. Don't think that just bcos she is not learning IQ stuff it's not constructive leh. Personally, I believe to be successful, a person should 1st and foremost have good EQ and this is the hardest part to develop. The stable home environment, love and attention will give her emotional stability and confidence. Other types of learning comes easily and those types of learning grow exponentially...no need to worry. Once they go to school proper they will learn exponentially and you'll find that ultimately she wun loose out to other children and in fact may be better off bcos of her confidence in herself. I also dun intend to send my boy to any class. I want him to enjoy his childhood and be happy first and foremost. I want him to enjoy exploring, discovering and learning on his own and not just have information drummed into him by some teacher. So I am happy to just let him play, play and play everyday

BTW, E is probably much worse than Denise in terms of speech development. He still prefers using sign language, so we just let him be lor. He much prefers listening and responds extremely well to 3 different languages. Just bcos they r not talking doesn't mean they r not learning. So dun worry, just let them develop in their own time.

Yah lor...my hb can b very hot tempered at times...when he blows his top...all reasonin go outta the window...tho he loves Cae very (x infinity) much...u noe...tat so soft side of him n patience tat I oni witness after Cae was born...

I agree tat the storerm n bathrm r dangerous plc...so my hb n I hv agreed tat I shall hv the final say on the type of punishmt handed out to Cae...tho both parents can discipline...cos I m more level headed...

For me...the naughty corner sometimes dun work...Cae tinks of it as a game...I guess I can resort to usin the cane oni when he is older...n it cannot b used too freq lah...oni when he understands a serious misdeed n wilfully breaches it...I guess my key triggers r "understanding" "seriouness" n "wilfulness"...

I taught Cae a few (oni) sign language when he was a bb...I realise tat for those few words...he took a long time to verbalise it...for eg...love...he wil always revert to the action or sign...rather than to say it...we hd to persevere for a really long time b4 he started sayin "love"...

brought him to the PD yesterday n it could be viral fever.. saw spots appearing on his body last night.. so i think it could be fake measles again... sort of relieved coz was so worried if it could be something worse....

Bloom - I can understand your worry as my son has not started talking too. He refused to speak a word when we prompt him ;( But my pd said to wait till he is two years old and see how.

Another problem is my son also understand what we tell him, but many times when we call him, he behaves as if he never hear us and continue playing with his toys or watching TV. Can a toddler be so engrossed in what he is doing that he didn't hear us calling? At times, we have to make very loud noises to catch his attention. Is this normal?

Its not so much of the IQ stuffs that worries me. 2 things in my tots: safety and disciple

I was in the room preparing the stuffs for Denise bath. She went out but I din bother since my mum is in the living room. When I came out from the room, I only saw my mum sitting on the sofa. I found Denise at my parents room jumping on the bed. I told my mum if Denise is within her sight its ok to leave her alone to play.
Kitchen and toilet are out of bound for Denise when she is at home. At my parents place, she will go in and out freely. My parents had the habit to store water from the laundry.
Cos of my mum's nature and some health condition, she will give in any request to Denise without thinking on the safety aspects. I dun blame her. On the other hand, I'm also worried. If my dad is ard, still ok. But there is time he need to bath and use the washroom.
My parents are still the 1st choice when comes to Denise care taking. However, whenever I think about the safety part, I'm at a loss liao.

hey, mandy is another slow talker. i suspect she finds there is no need to talk bcos we understand her too well. n it's nt our fault bcos she is an expert signer. even my mum said so. after spending a few days w her, both my mum n mil can understand her v well. she comes up w her own signs 4 EVERYTHING. eat, drink, straw cup, fork, spoon, sleep, wear shoes/socks, change diapers, kick, sing, watch bb einstein, watch wheels on e bus... in short, everything.

4 e.g., e day after i let her use e fork to eat her pancake, she could sign to me tt she wanted e fork by using her index finger to poke into her pancake den point to e dish rack. how m i nt supposed to understand?? her signs r so funny sometimes it entertains us so much.

i read tt receptive language (how much they understand) is a better indicater of their speech advancement than spoken language. so if ur kid can understand lots, dun worry.

Re: talking
I'm not sure this will work, but before going CC, JT also won't open her mouth to talk at all. Her teachers will prompt her to talk before giving whatever she wants. E.g., if she wants a toy that is out of reach, we'll say "Say please". Then very slowly say "PLEEASE" in front of her so that she can see how we say it. The 1st time she might only say stg that doesn't sound like "Please", but that's ok. Give her the toy and applaud her for trying. After a few times she'll get the pronounciation rt. The idea is for her to realise that she needs to verbalise her thoughts so that we understand her. Maybe you can just try it out.

sian, boss on medicial appt today, another col on course for 2 days followed by 3 days leave and her partner 'geng' mc. heard that he is a mc king had not been coming to work since last whole week and if so, per week only work 3-4 days. sian.... yeah, still spotting.....

y'day, schedule to meet my director. even my director (a lady) also told me dun stress, work is work, health is more impt. she understand my situation as she herself also experience the bledding/spotting and had to rest for more than mth. so touching, even told me that if there is any thing not right to me, will go and find my boss who had a car or any one in the office drive if not call her, she will drive to hopsital. ask me to take it easy, dun stress.
