My dept now all married ladies. Currently, 1 colleague is due in Dec. My boss and me planning for #2. The other colleague planning for #1. We really have to plan our pregnacy.
Our ang moh bosses commented then we shall get guys instead of a lady when we r fighting for the 4th person in the dept. My boss told them but its only the ladies that will stay in our dept for long. Guys are more agressive and will not want to stay in lab for the rest of their life. They keep quiet and smile! Sometimes really have to give it to them.

Personally i was rather disappointed with the NDP Rally. Cause i was hoping for paternity leave. Please lor, father also should be involve in the caregiving of the BB. Especially during the 1st weeks before the routine set in.
With the additional 4 weeks of ML, i really believe that the Employer will think twice before employing a female staff of child bearing age.

oh, yr same snr consultant can alter between clinic A and clinic B? last time, I went clinic c.
for me, I received an sms to ask me to go down to register at 8pm-9pm y'day.the lady told me this time is opened for invited parents who had called before. so finally, y'day register my gar in Jan 09 startots (west coast ville) playgrp liao. too bad she not up to 30mth at the pt of entry to entry in PCF pre-nursery or else, I would like her to continue all the way up to K2. save me $$ from changing school and buying uniform. the classrm at startots is rather small. acc to the person in charge, she told me that each class accomodate max to 16 toddlers. so if overwhelm then will open 2 classes. will only pay in full and get the uniform etc in Nov.
which outlet did u enrol yr gar? yeah, they charged by term one. so how many toddler are there in the class?

I heard so many real horror stories fr hubby and my brother y'day. hubby was telling me that 2 of her col got m/c. sad case was that she tried for bb for 6 yrs liao and manage to get twins but hor, when she iwas in the toilet to urine, one of the foetus just flush out and hang there.think she squat. so immedietly, they called the ambulance and then the gynae trying to save the bb but due to the bacteria attack, the one outside can't survive. what was even sadder was that the one inside also kana bacteria attack. in the end, all were gone.
. another one also just lost her bb when she found out she was preggie. my mum kept on comparing that ppls of the past and present. I told her that now stress ard and ppls's body is not as strong as last time ppls. dunno why ppl last time, still can 'hop' ard during preggie but not now.
err...back to Kate, then yr nanny must be busy 24/7 loh, need to hawk eye on her. is she still as active as before when I saw her last time?

Actually the root cause is the high cost of living, and everyone is so obsessed with working, keeping their rice bowl in this competitive world. All the increase in subsidies are just nice to have, but would not be the deciding factors.

Actually, raising a kid is not just about money, but REALLY about time, especially with 2 or more kids. With the kids growing up, we need to spend a substantial amount of time on each child for his/her growth - coaching their work and learning development, playing, cuddling, etc. It is a true challenge ensuring each child has quality time from us. On top of that, we have to juggle high-paced jobs where employers cannot understand why we have to take leave to look after our kids sometimes (but they can happily agree to men doing reservist). I used to have some male staff who are ALWAYS on reservist, like one long (2 weeks to 1 month!) reservist every quarter or half a year. Yet, nobody really complains cos we know it's the government's call. But hey, we women are doing our fair share of nation-building while the guys are learning to defend the country also!

Totally agreed that raising a kid is abt time. That's why no #2 for me cos I can't imagine spending even lesser time with JT than the current 2 hrs a day.
Just saw the news last nite - Vivian Balakrishnan, minister for MCYS said that with the new requirements to increase the quality of childcare, we can expect the fees to increase. Seems like we have all misunderstood the intent of increase in CC subsidies - its for the CCs, not us!! So we're really going to be back to square one!

Tat day I took Cae on the the MRT (City Hall trfg to Orchard line)...2 nice middle aged (45yo to 50yo) gentlemen gave up their seats to my MIL n I (wif Cae) even tho we were a distance away fm them...1 of them was a Jap I believe...

My Hayley just had an incident last sunday, causing her to lose one of her upper tooth. Just dropping by to say thanks to those who have shown concern and left cmmts onto her blog.
My Hayley's appetite has started to return since yesterday or else we will be even more heartpain to see her wincing in pain n loss of her tooth. Her wound has recovered.. we will bring her back to hher paediatric dentist for follow up in 4 month time. Hope her adult tooth will grow soon... but we still need to wait for few month time.

It also been a while since I meet up with other mummies n tots. Guess all tots have grown up a lot and more handsome / prettier. By looking at the list, we better think of some nice place for our tots to roam n many high chairs if we planning to have a meal together

Hi mummies for this Sat outing, I hav a suggestion. How about globetrotters at united square. There is a indoor playground. And I find the food there quite okie.
Nowsaday rain alot. So i guess indoor will be better.

anyone ever considered/ "bio"-ed any double strollers (i.e one sit in front, one behind)?
Do you guys think its a good idea or not? any good brands??
i think it's more convenient in that you will not need to bring out 2 strollers for 2 kids BUT one of these tandem strollers is usually like 15-20kg, which is 3-4 times the weight of a single stroller! My mum will kill me i think
My hubby says usu when we go out, we go in a grp of at least 2-3 pple (hubby, me, sometimes maid) so we have enough hands to push 2 strollers. But... wait ppl complain we take up too much space with 2 strollers?? (not that the tandem stroller is very small la)

Going to bring Hayley on my own to Genting with my uncle & aunt next wk. They are driving up but I not bringing stroller, planning to leash her in case she run off without my close watch.

I had one...n I din used it...cos I dun feel secure wif it...I bot it from Kiddy Palace...
I tink tat if yr kid is experimental...she may b able to unfasten it...n I dun recommend lettin yr eyes off her in a strange cty too...fm the way tat it is made...a stranger can jus unhook the strap n carry her away...n b careful tat u dun jerk the strap bac suddenly when she runs...she may juz trip n fall...

Since you need the cooking facilities, take Bobianah's recommendation. The location is really central. I stayed around that area too the last time and could walk to most places. Bus stops and the city train is also very very close by.
