Juz to share wif u...I brot Cae to to the dentist...she actually discouraged us fm usin any kinda toothpaste...even 1st Teeth...as it contains chemicals...n our tods hvnt learnt to spit yet...(except food...my view...haha)...she said tat any kinda chemical shld b minimised for very young children...tap water n toothbrush or gauze wil suffice...

i read that article on Sunday times and was fuming mad. i mean this 23 year old law grad is sooooooo selfish! tell pple to have the common sense to take cab and not the bus?? what? just so she can get off the bus easier is it?? wait till she has a child and we'll see if she is wanting to take the cab everytime she goes out. and yes dora, i also experience the exact same thing at causeway pt. these pple just shove their way into the lifts when it comes and simply choose to ignore that we were there waiting first and that we have a stroller. they say that we are inconsiderate to use the escalator, then let us use the lift lah. escalator they want, lifts also they want! then wat? we take stairs ah?? so mad. i'm going to write in to the forum again and lambast this ignorant and selfish pple. i just hope they publish it this time...

PH such a brave boy!! regarding saying bye bye to the tots, most books say must do that right? but a few of the CC i went, their experience is that its better to slowly disappear awhile... then come back... then disappear again for a longer period. Coz once u say bye bye.. the tots will hang on to you. dunno lei.. i ddint have a chance to try out that.

agree with Fizz that Sporean are leading a stressful life and they dun pace down to enjoy the moment around. I just heard from my colleague her cousin got cancer in heart and lungs. Only 40+. Got 2 young kids. So sad. In fact, these 2 yrs this is like the 5th case I heard.

roo, may have to work late bec its really a small team, me, a colleague and boss. Tomorrow starting work but am feeling apprehensive bec of how it may affect my current home routinues.

Fizz, was told by Evee's PD that should start the toothpaste even the edible type at 2 years old. I got some expiring soon think oct so think will let my elder one use though she can use normal and let evee try abit next month. what is the reason you brot Cae to dentist?

bobianah, hahaha..in my office..the non preggy pp also take alot of MC... basically its a nua culture..i think i take less MC than them (got smoe can everyweek take 1 -2 days cos weekend play too hard)//.. so what did ur gynae say last night? u r not on msn leh... given birth liao? Today's newspaper had Grace Fu 'joking' that she sacrifice her leave to work as hard as the men thats why she become CEO of PSA..sigh! And govt wana split childcare leave between parents so that moms wont be penalised..they are 'solving' the proble from the wrong angel! They still dont get it!

wow, PH considered very brave leh and this mummy (u) also brave to leave him only for 1hr. but it is better this way cos the child can slowly adapt to the environment then. like if the parents give in when the child cried then I think the child will be smart enu to use that to threaten them. so in the end, my col got to be sahm to look after her gar then.

they mg copy it and come back to rob you after they resign from the cleaning job mths aft (happened to my fren)

i got agency coz going to let them come on days i'm not ard.. easier to complain.. :p the agency oso give me those with gd track records since nobody will be at home.. oso, it will be the same maid coming..

i won't be giving them the actual housekey.. will be padlocking my door with another padlock on cleaning days.. other days, i will switch back to my own set of padlocks.. if i change PT maid or company, will change the padlock.. hope it will be better this way..

agency charging $150 agency fee... seems ex.. but if i managed to stay with them for at least a year, it's only additional few dollars a week..

but hor, then yr maindoor lock how....u still need to lock or is it u dun lock when the cleaner come. last time, when during my renovation period, I dun lock my maindoor, only padlock the gate.

Bloom, my hair is really short now...like a bob..some say can't tell i already have 2 kids...i think i look better with long hair..probably have to work longer hours as its a very small team, myself, a colleague and boss. I hope the culture there is not such that people will just stay around and show bosses "they are working"..else if i leave on the dot or earlier than the rest, will probably "reflect badly" if boss compare me with the rest.

Actually hor...there is a MMI (Modern Montessori) at B Reservoir...the wall outside the classrm is absolutely white...u may not even notice tat it is a cc if u walk past...they allow the tod to go n roam ard on Sat to c if he/she is comfy wif the environmt...but the bad tink is tat they dun allow you to c the class in progress or wkdays...as they feel tat it is disruptive for visitors to go in...

Accordin to Cae's dentist...u can either brush the tod's teeth wif a toothbrush n tap water...or u can wrap a piece of gauze ard yr finger n wipe the teeth...she demo it wif a piece of gauze...n I cld c the yellow stain on it...my experience wif Cae last nite was tat he wasnt too enthu abt brushin w/o the toothpaste...hee...

U can keep yr toothpaste 1st...or u can use it yrself...or u can sell it...hee...but the dentist did mention tat if u really muz use toothpaste...use it as minimally as possible lor...altho she wasnt in favor of it...

I read somewhere tat it is gd to acquaint the tod to the dental environmt n to hv the 1st dental apptmt b4 2yo mah...but I recommend tat 2yo to 2.5yo wil b more appropriate after yest visit lah...nothin cld b done to an unwillin tod who wasnt too keen to take instruction...

Fizz, which one did you go? I brot my elder one when she is 3 years old cost me almost $100 even more ex than my normal dental visit but its kids friendly loh and she was ok throughout.

My parents used the handkerchief to wash Densie teeth cos they think its cleaner. Seemed like smtm the old method is still the best.

I'm lucky that I can go home at 5pm everyday. But I bring laptop back to work, and I've got a lot of telecons at nite with US as well. But at least I get to spend some time with JT before she goes to bed and I work when she's sleeping. Good luck for the new job!

She broke the handle of the pail. But the pail very old liao lor, so I think it was going to break anyway, so I dun think its her fault. And she accidentally knocked down my cheapo ikea standing lamp, and it broke. It was only $19 lah, so it was very fragile, just lean against the curtains only break liao. But I am still happy with her cos both times she came and tell me immediately instead of trying to hide it, and she offered to pay.
Grace Fu also said she could not have done it without the support of her mother who was staying with her. Not many people is so fortunate to have mother or MIL who is healthy AND willing to take care of their grandchild 24/7. Even if my mum is alive, I would not automatically expect her to take care of my children. We all know that taking care of children is hard work. I don't think its fair to assume that it is the responsibility of the grandma to take care of the grandchild. They have the right to retire and enjoy life as well, after slogging to bring us up. Ultimately the child is the parent's responsibility (not only in the financial sense). I think its a bonus if the grandma offers to help in the routine care, but they should be entitled to pursuing their own interest without feeling guilty.

yeah count me in too!!! Really terrible how some ppl think parenting is soo easy. They have obviously not tried it before. I agree with Bobianah tho... some parents just give the rest of us a bad rep. Before i became a mummy, I remember squeezing thru a Metro 20% sale. It's always crazy crowded but you will have these 2 parents with their maid and massive stroller squeezing together with everyone, blocking the way with the stroller like they own the place. If you got maid and daddy with you and they are not doing the shopping, maybe they can wait for you at a less crowded area in the shop while you shop or sthg? Or at least just generally be mindful of the crowd la, don't annoy other ppl.

U know, now that i'm abt 4+ mths preggy with no 2, and stomach is so obviously big that people cannot assume i am just fat, pple STILL don't give up their seat in MRT for me? and not just once or twice, but many times ready. Stood all the way from Simei to Raffles Place. Worse after work when everyone just wants to sit down and bo chap you. They all just pretend to sleep when they see me. REEEEAAAALLLY disgusting. I mean, I'm not saying I DESERVE a seat just cos i am preggy, but if you have any social grace/ basic courtesy at all, you would give up your seat to someone less able-bodied than you, right?!?! usually, yes... but JUST not in Singapore lor. Ergh ...disgusting. My gynae told me she had one massively-pregnant patient who went home depressed and cried like mad after no one gave up a seat for her... poor thing. Guess it's like.. you already feel like a whale and no one sympathises with you! Next thing you know, they will say all preggys should take cab everywhere we go!

sorry haven't kept track since last time... which mummies live in the East? I know Starluster and Fizz (?) rite? anymore? I live in Simei and have no idea where to send Lucas leh... so far, been for one trial at united square only - Growing up gifted - cos recommended by colleague. Thot wasnt that great cos the main teacher was quite an elderly (not sooo old lah but maybe 50+) eurasian lady who was a little too "low energy" to deal with tods i thought. Considered d'story club at Pat's Schoolhouse but havent gone for trial yet. I dunno many more leh... summore i think my boy is extra hyper, i really scared to bring him to school actually.. hahah. think he might tear up the classroom in a day. haha. no lah... maybe 2 days :p

When I carried Denise in MRT, the people (all the young ones somemore!!!) sitting down in front of us closed their eyes immediately. Its happened at different occasions.

I just feel the gov want people to have more kids because of political issue. Our country don't have any natural resource. People is the only source they have. But, they really got to make our country more family frenly esle who will want to have more kids. MOst of the time when they interviewed those people who had many kids all are high flyers and have good help from both parents. GET REAL!!!

Cabs are so ex nowadays.. The govt isn't doing anything much other then building more ERPs..

There should be more stuffs out in the Nationday Rally this year. Think they going to make baby bonus more attractive. But I doubt they will ever subsidies cab or whatever expenses for family or pregnant ladies..

i stay in east (shifted from punggol last year). I am a GRO at simei cc so hang ard there often. Sunbird area have a few pte one, within cc oso have a cc, heard east point oso have. I stay at bedok north but my girl attend cc at east coast road those pte one.

agreed yur point, i feel those wifout kid alway tot our life wif kid are very easy. i rem last time i squeeze up the packed bus wif my 8 mth tummy and no one bother me at all.
sometime when we went out wif stroller, some ppl just bump their way to us then start blaming us using pram to obstruct their way turn out to become our fault again

mbb, i am fine with lunch/tea though preferred tea which means i can take just half day.... but seeing Lil..mmm... cos i will have to leave by 6+ to pick kate up...
