happy.gif
so funny tt baby #2 was hiding behind all these while. but i rem ur baby#1 size is almost the same as us, and it was better than mine. hope u r feeling better now. guess u both muz b so happy to hear tt u r expecting twins.
happy.gif

din noe it was possible 4 baby #2 to hide for almost 3 mths rite?

wendy
u gg to stay so long at mum's plc? hb allowed ah? hehehe... he not making any noise?
crazy.gif

yah i feel tt we ourselves muz b firm in wat we wan, else other pple can influence our thinkg v easily. i am juz tryg to get prepared 4 watever problems tt might churn out fr bfg.

babygrace,
4 the one on not enuff BM to expel the bilirubin, i read in books b4 now tt u mentioned. hmmm, think this sounds more logical?

btw it sounds v common tt newborns always got jaundice.

luckily u had supportive frens & gynae to push u thru the bfg effort!
happy.gif

doggiemummy, I feel so excited for you! Just can't stop smiling! You take extra extra care now.
happy.gif
Eat well too, you have more mouths to feed than us.

Wendy, when my breast engorge it just feels very very hard, like stone. And also gets really big. It feels as if I purposely poke my breast out when I walk. And my breast were hot. I think it's not common for milk to flow out automatically, mine was a weird case. I just stand there and the milk just drip down non-stop. I was really frightened. I was told it was due to too much milk supply, and no out-flow, so my milk duct were swelling and cause infection and lead to fever...Can't remeber exactly cos I was in a dzae then.
Suppose to put cabbage in fridge and line it in your bra to help sooth the engorgement. But advise is not to do this if you intend to bf as some believe it'll reduce the supply.

hi hi crystallized..
ya, hubby kinda grumble a little..saying something like huh? how come so long etc? but i judt tell him, we will decide by i m doing my confinement..then he just said, he will carry baby back to show his parents, then i was like, u mean they cant come over to my mum's place to see the baby meh? we are staying with our in-laws now in tamp & my mum stays in bedok...not very far ahh..i always welcome them to see us anytime anyday as long as the baby is with me..then hubby grumble & say, why he cannot bring the baby back to show his parents & then i repeat myself again lor..also told him that i will only decide during my confinement..like what Vivian said, i m holding the hostage now at the very moment..heehee..LOL..

hi hi ladies..
yest was telling u all that the gynae that does the NT Scan for me, managed to scan the gender of my baby, but i heard from a friend..when she's at her 13th wk, she was told it's a girl, but when she reached her 20th wk, was told that it's confimred a boy, so i was thinking, hmm..not sure by my next appt which is 15/04, will we be able to tell lor..very hard to confirm till the detailed scan i guess..also i cant think why the gynae told us the gender..seems like i dun such craving if i m carrying that gender..hmm..anyway, i guess as long as the baby is healthly, that's the main thing i m thinking abt lor..

I remeber a MTB here once hope that she has twins and bb2 hiding behind bb1. Was that you doggiemummy? If it's you, your dream really comes true! Congrats again!!!

hi hi coral..
oic..wow..seems to be very painful leh..i think i get what u meant..bcoz at the early stage of pregnancy..when our breast is growing..i also kinda feel alittle sore at the breast...so i guess during engorgement, shd be even more painful & hard..i thot by using cold cabbage shd be able to help cool down a little? hmm..

Hi doggiemummy,

A very big CONGRATS to you!
happy.gif
Does u or ur hubby's side got family history of twins?
U have to really take very gd care of yourself. Not trying to scare/upset you, my colleague was telling me that her friend was expecting twins but cannot see 1 of the twins, so gynae only prescribe vitmains/medicine for 1 bb only, so the other twin, not getting enuff nutrients. By the time, can see the other twin, a bit too late, the bb is not progressing well. So gynae suggested induced abortion. A very sad case. But I believe this is a very rare case....

I thought I will have a high chance of getting twins too as I was on fertilty drug. But I'm thankful enuff that I'm preggie, given my health, carrying 1 bb is already not easy for me.

babygrace,
Agreed that MTBs should not be naive abt BF! Haiz, I think I'm one of them, thinking BF is easy. Who knows is so tough!

doggiemummy,
CONGRATS!!! Wah I think you are one of the earliest to deliver among us. Heard most cases of twins/multiple births are born early before EDD. So you need to prepare early. Rest well!

hi hi jenny..
oic..no wonder i didnt see u online..ops..u must have heard me..heehee..aiyo, given 2 days MC ahh..nowadays weather not very gd also..sometimes sunny in the noon, then evening heavy downpour..u must take gd care leh...drink more water & rest well...hope u r getting better also..go rest ba..

doggiemummy,

congrats on having twins! so happy for you, and feel silly for feeling a little envious also, even though I'm already wondering how to take care of 2 kids myself in Oct.

but two at once, double the joy! good for you!

BM Jaundice
Crystallise, i dun really know what cause bm jaundice, but what babygrace said about not enough bowel movements to expel the bilirubin makes alot of sense. My baby only poo about once a week when he was on breastmilk. It was the best, cuz dun have to change smelly nappies so often. My PD said it was nothing to do with what I ate, though my dad said it's because i ate heaty stuff, so irritating.

As for bfing when sick, it wasn't because i didn't want to bf when sick, it's more because my supply dip cuz i wasn't in good health or not eating as much, so had to supplement with formula.

wtan, both breasts will have milk supply.. in fact, when you feed once breast, the other breast will also be stimulated and leak milk. in the first few months it would leak until my whole breastpad is soaked. subsequently just leak few drops.

breast engorgement
i also kenna when i had to stop bfing Ethan, and pump out milk for one week. i guess using pump so not effective, and the milk from one or two ducts were not pumped out. wah, pain until cannot sleep, and even raise one arm will feel pain in the breast. i tried a few times under hot shower pumping and really squeezing on my breasts until tears flow out of my eyes until the block clear.

Oh my goodness, kypf, even when stopping will feel tis kind of pain ah? Eeeee...I'm most afraid of that. But this time I'll get ready extra strong pain killer. Do we have to buy FM to standby even if we intend to BF? Cos I'm thinking if suddenly no supply where to find milk in the middle of the nite and then bb crying in hunger will be very bad.....

Jenny, rest well.

Me going to 13 wk liao still throwing up daily. Just now the moment out of car, just pollute th car park. can't control merlion until my feet also kena. Arggg!

coral,
you can get a few of those sample bottles of FM from the hospital nursery to standby. The nurses will usually give u a few if you ask. Alternatively, the PD clinic may also have sample tins of milk powder which u can take.

wendy,
i think within confinement period if PILs wanna see baby, they def gotta come over to visit u coz u r doing confinement leh. muz take extra care. but on mth 2 & 3, mayb its time to slowly move back home where ultimately ur baby will stay so tt baby can get adjusted to the home? coz i worry if baby stays in one plc 4 too long, he might recognise the surroundings and will cry when he is brought to an unfamiliar one.

yah i guess u can only decide during confinement. hehehe, i worry aft 3 mths at ur mums's plc, u r the one tt cant bear to go home! afterall u used to stay there b4 wedding rite?
lol.gif

u staying permanently wif ur ILs? who cares 4 the baby when u go back to work?

Jenny,
how r u? hope u r feeling better soon.
happy.gif

kypf,
in fact i still hv many queries abt BFg, wait till i hv organised my thots then can ask u all experience mummies here.
happy.gif

ur baby only poo-ed once when bfg? i heard bfg babies shld move bowels ard 6 times/day? once a wk v unusual.
uhoh.gif

crystallized,
looks like you're very well-read already! yes, bfg babies poo very often. So while u save money on milk powder, u spend on diapers. haha!
My boy used to poo about 6-8 times a day. it was a happy problem cos at least i know that my BM is enough for him.
Don't worry, just ask any question as and when u think of them, will try to help if i can.

babygrace,

hahaha, not really lah. i read but i am v forgetful.
crazy.gif
i only rem certain details only when i read them at diff bks but the same figures/facts repeats. v poor memory. made worse during pregnancy.

do u all used disposable diapers? i think most mummies do, so can save time washing the cloth ones. i was thinking, the confinement lady washes it rite?
uhoh.gif
of coz am not tryg to work her to death, but using cloth diapers so baby's skin can breathe better than all wrapped up in disposable ones?

so wats the correct procedure to do b4 u try latching the baby? massage ur breasts to encourage milk supply? so tt the alry hungry and irritable baby will suckle when he realises there is milk afterall and will cooperative?

crystallized,
i tried using cloth nappies cos got CL but he pee and poo (my boy got big appetite) so often and the wet nappy disrupts his sleep. So i gave up and switched to disposables.
Yes, you have to massage ie push towards the aerola before latching. But you're right lah, when bb is crying, where got time. But it's important to do it cos i had blocked ducts for not massaging it properly. you can latch him on and use the other hand to massage while he's drinking.

babygrace,

how do u noe its blocked duct? i heard the 1st milk which is colostrum (dunno correct spelling anot) needs to be push out so as to ensure smooth flow of milk supply. i heard fr a fren tt the colostrum was stuck at the nipple and she had to get the lactation consultant to squeeze and push the colostrum out. she was in so much pain tt she teared but she pressed on as tt was the only alternative to get her milk flowing.

do u use the pump to stimulate milk supply b4 bfg? does the pump actually stimulate like a baby's suckling? i dun think so rite?

Hi hi kypf..
Thks for sharing with me abt the milk supply from the 2 breasts..thks..its really amazing..Wow..the breastpads can even be soaked ahh..i managed to get 2 samples of the breastpads when I signed up for the Mother & Baby mag at Expo during the last BabyCare Festival & they gave goodies bag..last night, just kpo to check again whats inside & read up some brochures..got to learn that the breastpads are something like our normal sanitary pads but slimmer version..when will the milk be leaked out? I read some books that nearer the day of delivery, there will be some b/milk leaking out..or usually will only be aft giving birth?

Hi hi coral..
Hope u r feeling betterdid u ate anything in the morn b4 being the merlion? I guess maybe baby doesnt like the intake? or try drinking some hot soya bean milk..do hope this can help make u feel better..take gd care..

Hi hi crystallized
Haha..i guess u do have a point..who knows aft the 3 mth maternity leave..its me that hope to stay at my mums place longer..no matter what, ur own home is the best place to be..ya, me staying with my in-laws bcoz we are waiting for the BTO project in Tamp..so didnt get our own lovenest when we got married last Oct..heehee...see how ba, will only discuss with hubby abt it during the confinement who to take care of the baby..my mum is working, from morn till 5pm..i know FIL is trying to convince us to let MIL take care of the baby..but its FILs idea..we didnt find out if MIL is ok with it..coz she might be bored staying at home & FIL might use this as an excuse not to bring her out often..shes a full-time housewife, ever since aft married..sometimes she will meet up with her own friends to go out lor..the best part is, that day we joked & say shes already a grandma & still want to act young.(coz we bought her the spec strip for her to use, shes very forgetful, will forgot where she left her specs everytime).then she just said, like look very old & her lips formed the want to kiss look (I hope u get what I meant) & said shes a young grandma (shes not even 55 yet now), then hubby just replied, some of hubbys aunties have become grandmas earlier than her age..she like cannot accept the fact the now shes a grandma & already consider old..so I just joked & said, ok lor, next time I get my baby to call u aunty instead ba..pls lor, duno how many parents want to be grandma asap..its like shen-zai-fu-zhong-bu-zi-fu..wow..u really seems to know a lot abt BFg leh..cool!

hi wendy,

oic, so its juz a temp arrangement to stay wif ILs ah? eh wonder how come ur sentences breaks up in parts one. did u use special characters to type? some of ur words got "eaten" away.
lol.gif

yah though ur MIL is a housewife, she is used to her own freedom. taking care of bb means she will hv much lesser leisure time. she din say whether she wanna care 4 ur bb aft knowing u r pregnant? then u gotta find out fr her. can ask ur hb to test test. hehehe
happy.gif

4 me, i prefer my mum to care 4 my bb. she is oso wkg currently but i feel stayg at home is less tedious than the job she is currently doing. moreoever she is the one tt is chasing me all these while to hv bb, so i tell her "Ma, u chase me to conceive, now u muz b 'responsible' to care 4 the bb!" hahahahaa
biggrin.gif
blackmailing my own mother!

yah nowadays got a lot of young grandmas. my mum oso less than 55.
happy.gif
my mum kept sayg she old liao, while ur MIL still young at heart. i guess its a gd thing!!!

me noe alot abt bfg? no lah! juz little knowledge lah, else u wun see me "bombing" the experienced mums wif so much qns abt bfg... kekeke

hi hi crystallized...
ya, it's a temp arrangement to stay with my in-laws since we are still waiting for the BTO application..aiyo..wait till neck very long leh..heehee..actually like u, i also prefer my own mum to take care of my baby..but see how then ba, coz my mum is also working & i cant expect to get her quit the job also..i m not sure if we can pay her well to help us take gd care of the baby, FIL mentioned to hubby that if MIL will to take care of the baby, then we dun really have to give her allowance for that..it's like since she's already at home kind..so not specially want her to stay at home to help look aft the baby coz she's not working ma..we didnt sound up to her..only make it clear with the support of my 3 SILs that i will go back to my mum for confinement..my 3 SILs also shared since my MIL has 3 daughters, so next time, they will surely come back to do confinement at home lor..so this MIL cannot say anything lor even thou she might or mightnt be happy abt it..heehee..thks to my 3 SILs..LOL...maybe we will let the baby decide ba, see who baby wants to be taken care of by..heehee.. *wink-wink** ya, i find that u read up alot on BFg..i havnt even find out anything abt it, will try to read up abt it one of these days..heehee..

hi hi ladies..
i managed to find out from the receipt my breakdown cost of the NT Scan in CAMDEN by Dr Lai Fon-Min..

NT Scan - $160
1st Tri blood screening - $140

So total aft the taxes & etc adds up to $344 or something like that..

crystallized,
you'll know u have blocked ducts when ur breast turns very hard yet the milk cant flow out properly. Very painful. i've figured out my own way of relieving the pain. Take a bottle of warm water and roll over the engorged breast. The heat and the massaging will help to clear it.

Yes, colostrum is the precious milk in the 1st few days that will give bb the anti-bodies. It's much thicker than milk, maybe that's why your fren got trouble getting it out? I didn't hv much trouble with mine. Immediately after birth, the lactation consultant came and squeeze my nipple and colostrum came out.

if bb can latch on properly, it's better than using pump. Somehow the closeness to the bb will also bring about milk letdown which may be difficult to achieve with a machine. In fact some mommies have to pump and look at photos of their bb to stimulate letdown.

cystalised
u are not ks...breastfeeding at the start is not as easy...reading up alot really helps and prepares u mentally for the hardships....

coral
this time after u birth, maybe when bb is not feeding u could pumped the milk out before it swells...this could prevent engorgement...to prevent blocked milk ducts, most important is to make sure there is no more milk left in breast....to ensure that is after bb sucks or after pumping , u could hand express ur breasts, till that each hand express oni provides a little milk..this helps to prevent painful experience....after sucking or pumping, its good to have a habit to use leave a layer of our on breast milk on our nipples...this prevent sore nipples...cos the breast milk has lubricating/healing effects...

To prevent jaundice in our breast milk, is to limit our inger intake...for me, i took ginger or alcolhol oni after bb latched on...so the time of such intake has to timed according to their feeding times...

the 15 mins per breast by lactation cosultant is a guide for mummies to switched btw 2 breasts....u could use 15 minutes for each breast...meaning if start fr left breast 15 mins...after the second breast(right breast), bb still cries for milk....go back to the first breast(left)... then right....maybe trouble at first...but slowly we learn our bb latching habits...we would be able to estimate hw long per breast each latch....then the trouble would be gone...and then breastfeeding would be easier....with no pains....these troubles are only at the beginning....so as to avoid the engorment on either breast....the blocked ducts and sore nipples....after a while, all these would be very easy ....once a while if skiped the above process after breaastfeeding has been established, is also okay....

these are some of the things that i personally encounter in the beginning...and i am ks...so do alot....although all the above steps seems alot....n seems like bottle feeding would be easier...but if u ask me which is easier.....i would tell u...long term breast feeding is easier then bottle feeding....

Hi Angeine, thank you for your advise. Hopefully, by then won't be too nervous with a crying bb...

Wendy I think I merlion bcos i was rushing some deadline last nite so too stressed up running around to get the info I need from various people. Hb say why work so hard when you've already quit, but think it's still my responsibility...At least your MIL no double standrad. Mine different case. During CNY, my SIL who's already married can spend the whole day at MIL's home, but I can only go back to bai nian to my parents in the morn, by lunch time must go bac to them and spend the next few days of CNY with them. So I doubt I can get my confinement at my mum's place realise.

hi hi babygrace & Angeline..
thks so much for sharing with us abt the tips in getting the precious milk out as well as the ways to couquer it..all these are very impt & precious info..really appreciate u both in sharing it with us..thks so much! i guess i will bookmake this few discussions & when we need hands-on practise then refer to it again...really thankful..

hi hi coral..
i guess since i have been very firm with my decision & also with the support of my 3 SILs, i can still have room for negotiation lah..heehee..take it easy at ur side..look at it at the bright side..things will turn out the way u want it to be as it's nearer the date..meanwhile, pls take extra care of urself..so that u can get to take gd care of ur baby & ur health later..cheers~

Wow, all these talks about bfg, me still in a blur blur stage. Will wait till at a later stage then decide whether to bf. Cos I'm on medication, have to check with my doc as to whether the BM will contain any traces of the medicine.

Hi Coral,

Take things easy. Things may change when you have delivered.

For me, I'm quite lucky. My MIL will not bother us. Before marriage, she already mentioned that her son has treated the house as a hotel as most of the days, my hubby will stay over at my parents' place.

My hubby wants his mum to take care of bb, but I do not want. One thing, she stays at Ang Mo Kio, where we are staying at Punggol. Though we are not very far, but I have to think of the journey to & fro every morning. And I'm not very close to her. I wanted to let my mum take care, cos she's staying at Sengkang, so much nearer. But currently, she taking care of my nephew (2yrs) & niece (3mths plus). I was thinking, by then, my nephew should be going to child care/playgroup but not sure whether my mum can tahan it. 2 bb, still so young. Dilemma...

Wah liew, so many postings... I'm getting better le. These few days of resting make me feel good. But hor, dunno why, once I step into office, I feel sick
sad.gif

Wendy,
I tot young grandmas are more xin fu in ppl's eyes? My mum is 53 when she becomes grandma leh.

Coral,
Did you get some medicines from your gynae to stand by? 13th weeks le and you are still throwing up! Goodness. Take good care of yourself hor.

BM Jaundice
PDs still can't explain what caused this. I heard just need to stop BF for a week then things will get back to its norm.

Block ducts/Engorgement
Eee... the names of them make me want to freak. Heng I din kena!

jenny
take care of urself...
maybe try to absent for few days fr work...
me too...similar...reach office seems to aggravate...but for the three mths maternity...must tong till end...

blocked ducts very painful...got three times....first time i press on blocked areas while bb latched...it helped...went away.....2nd time, it din go away....it was then i learnt to empty my breast till no milk left....third time was oni recently...cos my gal reduced feeding times....but it went away after more dilligent pumps.....engoregement also kena....scary...cos din knw that need to express when bb over sleeep...end up..hard like stone....n then cos no experience...dun even knw hw to use manual pump painlessly....

coral
take care...
some pples need to get off vomitting after 20 weeks....some thruout....hopefully u will not be those pple...

Hi everyone...

Wah yesterday and today's post are so "heavy" on BF. So much sharing of info... Me always thot that I will confirm be bfing... but now a bit scared... so i think i will try to "skip" some info first at this stage. Maybe later then seek more advice...

Jenny, me on 2 days MC too. My whole tummy was so uncomfortable for the past 2 days and was very worried that something happen to bb... So went to see doc. After scanning, bb was super active inside there and doing "head stand" stunt somemore...upside-down bicycle kicks lah... haha... when I ask whether is it possible to id the gender now since I am 14w++, we found that my bb so shy, keep putting his/her hands down there and dun let me see... I was like "so shy must be girl lah...." but doc say "you never know..." haha... but seeing that he/she is ok and active... brings smile to my face every now and then
happy.gif
, even though tummy still super bloated.
sad.gif

Meanwhile, everyone also take care lah...

Haha, vivian, must be the bicyce kicks that bb's doing in your tummy that cause stomach upset.
Jenny, office always make people feel sick. But it's nearing the end of the week, so hang in there.
Angeline, how does one stop bf? Once you reduce the numbder of feed or pump, wouldn't the breast engorge? but if one continues to pump, wouldn't the supply just keep flowing then can't end???
I'm already wearing my maternity dress, tummy & breast grown bigger, old clothes feel very uncomfortable liao.

Hi hi Gemini..
I guess u can discuss it out with hubby & see how it goes, since ur mum is already taking care of ur niece & nephew so I guess taking care of one more baby shd be ok for her..also nearer if u r gg to her place..no need to rush so far..esp when morning traffic can be a big headache at times..

Hi hi jenny..
Glad to hear u r feeling bettermaybe u over-worked ur selfmust take gd care lor..dun over-work too much..looking forward to next Fri coz its a holiday..yeah! heehee..wow..ur mum is a grandma at such a young age..if I m grandma then, will be so nice..i do agree that its more xin-fu to be grandma at a earlier age..haha..its ok, I will continue to tease my MIL..haha..

Hi hi Angeline..
When u meant manual pump do u mean by using hands or another type of pump? Wow..seems very painful leh..hmm..u still B/Fg ur gal ahh? Oh..do u intend to continue till nearer ur due date? Is it ok for u?

Hi hi Vivian..
Hope u r feeling better now..since u have went to see baby..i m sure u can have peace in ur heart now..so when will be ur next appt to see baby? Hows ur baby growing? if want to stop breast feeding, i got not much experience....cos i m still bresat feeding....but i rem when i pumped lesser, the suply will dip...some how after bm is extablished, we eun get engorgement so easily....u will just fee the most brs are full...

wtan
i m still breastfeeding...
hoping for my gal to feed till i birth...
so mayb she could help with my engorement...
manual pump is those non electric ones....hand express is use our hands to express the milk...

hi hi Angeline..
will it be ok for u to feed till u r giving birth as in? ur gynae knows abt this? if u sneeze..will ur milk just leak out? i think i get what u meant abt the manual pumps...but why u dun want to use those electric pumps instead?

wtan
sneezing, milk will not leak...
it will leak when brs are full, or trigger during sexual activity....initially i din knw whether i can tide thru the initial hardship of breastfeeding...so i din dare to invest in electric pump...so oni bought a manual pump....and also manual pump can ctrl the suction power , maybe will not be too power for the tender brs we had....just that hands abit tired fr the pumping....

actually if bb on one brs and we want to pump the other breast at same time...i find manual pump is good....no wire so easy to use....

but when i went back to work, i got myself a PIS, and it hasten the pumping time...not so much time waste pumping away...and hands not so tired...

Angeline,
Lucky I have a very understanding boss.

Vivian,
Wah so active ah, no wonder you so uncomfortable lah.

coral,
Ya lor, office always make ppl sick. I went back on Wed, then less than half a day, I came home.
To stop bfing, just lengthen the pumping hrs from 2 to 3 hrs to 3 to 4 hrs and then slowly decrease. The milk will be there for months. I remembered after 8 mths of stopping, when I pressed my nipples, still got some milk.

Wendy,
Some ppl prefer manual pump. Electric ones are ex. I'm using Avent manual pump.

hi hi Angeline..
oic..this is interesting..tigger during sexual activity..thks for sharing abt this..oh, u mean we can have both breast pumping out milk ahh..i thot like only one at a time..hee..hmm...seems like manual pump is easier to use, like what u shared, w/o wires attached..wat's a PIS?

hi hi Jenny..
so u r also using manual pump..is that a lot cheaper as compared to eletric pumps? oh, even aft 8 mths of stopping BF, u can still get BM by pressing nipples ahh..so must constantly have breast pads w/ u lah?

wendy,
When you invest in an expensive electric pump, maybe you will be more determined to make bf a success. haha! Seriously, if u intend to pump at work, getting an electric dual pump will save a lot of time.

coral,
if u want to stop bf, slowly drop one feed and the body will slowly adjust and feel less engorged over time.

angeline,
it's great that you're still bfg your gal. i had to stop cos my ss got miserably low and i was spotting so i thought better stop in case it trigger off early contractions.

Angeline, babygrace, thanks for the advice. I feel more confident to bf now. I hv always wanted to bf but last expereince really scared me, now got you gals giving us advise more reassuring. Angeline, you mean milk will leak during sexual activity? Then won't hb to scared or put-off? So funny.

jenny, take it easy at work, especially if you got an understanding boss.

once ur milk has been established usu the leak would not be big, could actually used back normal padded bras....tt what i did...manual pump is like 100 plus...but an electric dual pump range fr 200 to 600...manual pump no wires bb will not pull but tiring for our hands...but once used to it, then is ok...but time consuming...PIS is medala brand...this PIS model actually has the same feel as bb latching to us...cos when we have sexual activity, milk will leak out....think hb would more or less got used to that....maybe some mummies will not leak....for me it leaks...

coral
do not be scared....
it would be only the initial stage...
once over that stage should be a breeze....
so fr the beginning u have to prevent sore nipples, engorgement, blocked ducts...and should be no problem already.....

bbgrace
so once u stop bfding, ur spotting stopped?...i heard bfding cause contractions...but bfding will not cause any bb hurt....theoretically...but to be safe , better stop....i just cant bear to stop bfding...although i feel it may be good to stop bfding now since i m preg....i m worried that the nutrients to the little one in me may not be enough.....

jenny
ur work environ seems pro bfding....

coral, yep, like babygrace said, get those small bottles of milk from the hospital, the nurses use that to feed the babies in the hospital. some more just screw the teats on the bottle, very convenient

me now week 12, i *think* i'm feeling better, not so nauseous though still get bloated and indigestion. but everytime i *think* feeling better, a day or two later start feeling worse again.

crystallize, don't worry, you can still ask after giving birth. i find that's the time you'll be able to identify with the whole bfing experience and what we mummies talking about better. b4 i give birth heard other mummies talking about bfing, just 1 ear in and 1 ear out..

crystallize, babygrace,
i guess different babies different, cuz Ethan only poo once a week when he was on total breastfeed. the first time, i was quite worried after 4 days but PD said some babies don't even poo until after 3 weeks. as long as they pee often (6-8 wet diapers in 24 hours) they are getting enough. i'll like to think my breastmilk is so *quality* that most of it is absorbed as nutrients, ha ha.

wtan, i read that some colostrum leak out before giving birth, but didn't really happen for me, but then maybe i just didn't notice.. cuz it dried up and just looks like.. little bits of stuff on the nipple, that you can scratch out.
