Yes internals means cervix check. Means she will check for effacement and dilation. I have no idea if I have dilated or not but so far no real contraction. Only BH contractions so far and it's not frequent. My checkup is every friday. I feel like taking hospital leave in the next coming week. Everyday battling bad heartburn, really buey tahan.

i think for us is it necessary to check the internals so early? and furthermore we do not hv contraction yet!?

Yes i'm surprised I'm still having heartburn b'cos doc told me baby is engaged. Yesterday I also went for my prenatal massage and the malay lady told me that I have space on top of the stomach so sometimes baby like to climb up and down. She advised me to bind my diaphragm area and even showed me how. She said baby is supposed to stay down there. So now I'm on sarong at home lor hehe.

For us it's necessary b'cos our baby is big and engaged liao. Furthermore I am displaying early symptoms of labor such as swollen feet, frequent diarrhea and BH. Also I have a history of miscarriages so doc is quite concerned about this. We will both be full term next week so yes we can deliver anytime from there.
 
Gals! Joon delivered already. BB Denen delivered today at 1051am, 2890g. Joon had contractions all night!
She is one super woman. No epi, no gas.

The rest, she'll update us when she's back.

ilovebabies , Rachel is a lucky girl with such caring , thoughtful parents . A great blog indeed .

Came back from my 38 wks plus checkup , aiyah ... still have to join the WAITING list , just hope baby cooperates and come out exactly or before EDD coz gynae does not encourage any delay after EDD . My cervix is still thick , baby not engaged , acitve although his is small . Put on CTG and baby was asleep , the nurse had to wake him up with a little noisy vibrator , very mild contractions were recorded .

Probably will try the ' ahem ahem ' method if cervix is not cooperating by this week ,

just finished my 5 day massage with Mona. The last day will be a slimming massage which includes wrapping around the arms. I am very satisfied with her services and may engaged her 2 weeks later for slimming massage.... eheh .. v vain hor

Joon, congrats !! ehe I remembered me and ur EDD are v close and we were in this virtual race here ... anyway post us your labour story !

Baby Rachel really very sweet leh. I wonder how my boy will look like. Joining the W.W.W gang now after my checkup today. CTG shows baby's heartbeat is normal and doctor commented that my baby very active. I don't seem to have problems about having to wake my boy from his sleep :p I think I'll be in trouble when he is out! Hahah... to make him go to sleep!

hi all , i have experience blood. wen to gynae for check today morning. Gynae say either today or tom.. so whole stay at home & monitor. Then jus called gynae and he say admit tom morning.. my EDD is 20 sept. so came early. will update again

Actually we are both in the same shoes, having small babies.. my baby didn't put on any weight for the past 2 weeks, so my gynea also suggest induce or C-sec..... so sad.... gynea suspect either placenta is weak or baby is entangled with the cord.....

Did u pass yr gestational diabetics test? How did u get high blood pressure now?
 
Anybody know where I can do a walk-in 3D scan of baby? I wanna check whether baby is really entangled by the cord b4 I made any decision...

Unlike many of you, I don't want to deliver so early leh....

Dun worry too much ok ? My gal was small at birth too .. weighing 2.41 kg ... think she is making good progress now after drinking two weeks of breast milk eheheh

Hi emoments, my diabetics test is normal...good results...just that blood pressure is going up. You also don worry too much. I am sure things will be fine. Dr din say anything abt my placenta. How many weeks are u now?

Hi all, I'm back.. Congrats to all new mummies!

My birth story as follows :-

22 Aug 2006, Tue
11.30am - waterbag leaked, went for CTG scan at SGH and was asked to be admitted for monitoring

23 Aug 2006, Wed
10am - Went for ultrasound to check on the amniotic fluid index. Very low water level, only 2.2 as compared to the usual 6. Gynae said need to induce labour as the risks of bb getting infection is quite high.

11.45am - Pushed to labour ward and inserted prostaglandin gel to induce labour...

6.25pm - No effect at all... gynae inserted 2nd prostaglandin gel...

24 Aug 2006, Thur
8.25am - Still no signs of contraction.. 3rd prostaglandin gel inserted

2.45pm - Cervix just refuse to open... 4th prostaglandin gel inserted.

10.45pm - Mucus plug discharged + some bleeding (show) at last... so happy... hb &amp; I thought that I will probably deliver by tomorrow (Fri)... But cervix still not dilated.

9am Gynae was pushing very hard for natural delivery and asked if we want to attempt another round of prostaglandin gel to induce labour...She said that chances of bb getting infection was low as my waterbag didn't leaked further since Tuesday. We agreed coz should I decide to opt for c-section, chances of me going for natural delivery for subsequent pregnancies is only 50% and the risks is also higher...

Additional 4 prostaglandin gel inserted over the weekend.

Mon, 28 Aug 2006
8.30am - Finally 1 cm dilated!!! Was pushed to labour ward and put on Syntocinon drip... Started having mild contractions from 1.30pm onwards

5pm - Progress very slow.. Only 2cm dilated.. Gynae increased the dosage for the drip to 36ml per hour which is considered quite high... Contractions getting stronger thereafter - once every 2 - 3 mins apart for 30 seconds, but still bearable.

9pm - 2.5cm dilated... Pain was getting more and more intense to the extent that I started crying... Asked for Pethidine... but hb insisted that I take epidural as the contractions were v painful and he can't bear to see me suffer..

11pm - Epidural administered.... Really helped to ease the pain...

1am - 3 cm dilated... Increased the drip dosage to 48ml per hour as there's not much progress...

5am - 4cm dilated

7.45am - Gynae came and checked.. Still 4cm dilated. Suggested that I undergo emergency c-section as I was put on drip for more than 20hrs (too long) and cervix still not fully dilated.

8.59am - Bb Julian was born

I have delivered on 31/8 through induced and just discharged today from the hospital. Melissa can help me to update? Natural/induced &amp; assisted (forcep) delivery w/epidural. Also my baby named has change to Baby Chloe.

Below is my birth story, pardon me for the long story.

31/8/06

1.30am : Admitted to TMC for induced due to high blood pressure and low water level as arranged by my gynae. Cervix not even open. Was asked to clear bowels.
3.30am : Was given the induced pill and were told that the next few hrs should be nothing much, only experience stomach cramp.
7.30am : Doc came and checked, cervix opened till 2cm, doc then burst the waterbag, the extreme pain came, doc ask if I wanted epi, say no as still bearable.
9.40am : Pain was unbearable, asked for epi
10.20am : Epi was given, feel more relaxed.
11.30am : Pain came back again esp in the vaginal area, told nurse it was very very unbearable, nurse checked and was 8cm open, asked to increase the dosage
12.10pm : nurse prepared for delivery as baby heart beat keep dropping and was asked to start pushing, doc on the way, push very hard but cant seem to have any improvement, doc arrived and was told tat he need to vacum baby out, tried failed and he decided to use forcep, within 2 hard push, baby is out at 12.22pm.
It was so relieved to see my baby came out safely.

Hope the rest of you will have a smooth delivery.

Me on TBF, but my baby not very keen, she keep sleeping the whole day, not interested at all, is this normal for the first few days? she tried to suckle but only for a while then fell asleep, it is so tiring...but seeing her face really melt my heart, so I told myself not to give up, have to be patience..

Do you have any problem on BF?

Wow it must be so frustrating to have a labor that long. If you don't mind me asking, how much is your hospital bill now? Seems that you're there for so long and tried everything! But I'm glad both you and baby is safe!

My EDD is on the 29th Sep, so should be week 36.... if baby is still moving, then can tong till weeek 37 b4 making any decision to induce or C-sec if he's still not putting on any weight...

delivered liaoz. typing from Mt. Alvernia hospital bed. bb is 3.19kg. naural assisted with epidural

4.30am 3rd sept. juz finish mj session. tummyache n got show n think water bag burst. gynae advised to admit as i overdue.
7am: 2cm dilated. walking around delivery suite n given enema to pass out all motion.
10am: gynae arrived. put on oxytoxcin drip to speed up contractions. he wanted to burst waterbag, but it's already gone. 3cm dilated. cervix still thick on 1 side
12:40pm: 4cm dilated. contractions strength up to 127, every 2 minutes. tolerable, but wondered how long i can tahan.. used the gas n yoga breathing techniques helped. cos not sure on strength n length especially no rest, went for epidural @ 1pm. took 1/2 hr to administer.. peace! start to shiver..
5pm:8cm dilated
5.30pm: gynae said cervix open, try to push! he used vacuum as bb facing sideways!
6:55pm: jadelle born! had swallowed her own shit.. gotta ward a while in icu..
7pm: reacted to medication. feel lousy n bad n vomited. reject bb coming near me..backache n cramping starts. gynae bochap me n continue to deliver placenta n stich me up.
9pm: wheel to ward. saw mum n family. feeling better.. cramping in uterus gets stronger.
12mn. bb out of icu. was bathe n fed formula milk. start latch on.
4am feed her again.

sorry, didn't realise that baby didn't put on weight. why don't you ask your gynae if she can re-scan to see about the possibility of cord entanglement? the last thing you have to be feeling is worry! 3D scan is very expensive liao but if it will make u feel better, do it.

Emoments., don worry, i am sure you will and your boy will be fine! Take plenty of rest. Did your gynae give you MC to rest at home. Resting really helps! My job is quite stressful and Dr put on MC for 3 days and on the 3rd day went back to see gynae, by then, bb put on 100+g already. Remember to take plenty of rest!

littlepony, i'm still around lah... but today gotta clear work lorz....

I'm under the W.W.W gang since my gynae told me anytime from my visit last Sat. But then, I show no signs leh. My tummy have not dropped, no weird discharge, no bloody show, no swelling....

oh.. finally i found someone! haa! I am also under WWW gang... I haven't show signs at all as well.. maybe perhaps i am under medication to control any false contractions while waiting for my gynae to return from his holiday tis Wednesday. But my feet show significant swell... and v area pain.. but guess, bb too comfortable in me.. coz i just feed him with Burger King breakfast!
