Alright! Thanks <font color="0077aa"><font size="+1">Phoebe</font></font>, hope it's not too much trouble..
<font color="0077aa"><font size="+1">Joon</font></font>, weird that your carrot turned bitter. But are u able to describe the kind of bitterness? is it like in hokkien 'kum kum'? or bitter as in veg kinda bitter, like bittergourd? You mentioned the smell of the carrot is still nice, I suspect the problem comes from your blender. What were u blending before? GARLIC? GINGER? Could be a chemical reaction le.. A bad carrot is xng xng, nua nua and the color turns dark, can be black too..
Here are my suggestions: (and I assumed u know u must steam your carrots thoroughly cooked ya..)
1. Guess if your's wasn't a bad carrot then try thoroughly washing your blender first. If there's a 'pulse' function, use that with warm water and some mamalemon or lemon juice/vinegar. Then later, rinse the blender with warm water, using the 'pulse' function again. The 'pulse' thing turns the blade the other way round. Try pureeing your carrot again, see if it's the same.
2. If #1 doesn't work, then USE another carrot and puree the same, see if the problem still persists.
3. If both #1 & #2 don't work, then bring THAT SAME carrot (the supposedly bad one) to someone else's blender to puree and see if you face the same problem.
4. If all of the above fails, then don't give carrots lo.. hee..
Each time u try the above suggestions, make sure the blender is washed with WARM water ya..
<font color="0077aa"><font size="+1">DB</font></font>, when you say less milk as in before u intro the cereal right? or lesser than 500ml per day? If it's the former, then it's only natural mah..
I am feeding Arianne 2 feeds of cereal+puree a day and during each feed, she drinks about 80-100ml of water. I don know how much water is sufficient for a bb of ours' age though..
Yahh.. I guess Jovann will tell you if 2 meals is ok when you try feeding him the 2nd serving..
<font size="+1"><font color="ff0000">Congrats on Jovann's 6 months! Well done mummy!</font></font> I'm sure he'd love his animals milk bath tomorrow!
