"My 4 mth old came down with mild bronchitis last month and had the same phlegmy condition. In addition to using the pigeon baby nose cleaner to suck out the phlegm a few times each day, we also put the baby face down across our lap, supporting his head with one arm and gently pat his back using a cupped hand. He'd cough/sneeze out a big glob of phelgm after a while. This happened almost each time we did it.

Hope your son's problem clears up soon!"

Hehehe...I bought walker, Bumbo, 2 pairs of Combi shoes (the 2 different designs avail), thin-tipped cotton buds, knife, peeler and chopping board esp for baby food prep...cannot recall what else but I know hubby also grabbed Nike shirt, shoes and underwear!

how did u guys get the 5th month weight and height? Coz for 5th month no need to go for check up, right?

rae ann was 7.1kg @ 4 months but the PD didnt' measure her then...her 3rd month 'height' was 61cm...

Last weighing @ the PD when she was sick was 7.1kg also! She either lost weight or stopped putting on weight.

Will need to weigh her again when i send her for her 6mth checkup.

By the way, she turns 6 months on 19 Sept, but can i bring her to the PD on 24th Sept instead of 19 Sept?

24th is a Sat so her daddy can come along. I'm scared of needles so I don't dare bring her there myself...

btw, i didn't go to isetan sale coz i can't leave baby alone at home or bring her out

I intend to let Adele start on stage 2 only when she reaches 7 months. Not too sure how it will affect if you start her on earlier. Perhaps u would like to call the hotline or check with your PD. Hope this helps!

Some info for the new mummies who just joined the thread, not too sure if u are aware, we are not allowed to post any thread with regards to selling anything until we have joined for 1 year & above. Didn't realise this and I was suspended from posting any messages for the whole day today. Called them several times to explain and fortunately they have lifted the suspension. It so happens that I saw someone posted a thread to sell her breast pump and I decided to follow suit. Guess they are really strict on this. But nevertheless, so happy to be able to come into this thread to chat with all the nice mummies here. Its really addictive!

had a quick browse at the archives talking abt weaning off baby fr latching. seems like my prob is totally opp fr u mummies.

R has been on & off nursing strikes since i went back to work fully. i latch him on daily but somehow this boy juz fusses during feeds eversince and this explains why i hv to latch, dance & sing at the same time so he will latch. but it will b a struggle everytime coz he will fuss when i latch him. its v sad lor. how i missed those times when he was younger and he latched w/o fuss. nowadays its really a challenge. my mum & hb has been asking me to switch to TEBM but i was v persistent to latch him. he has no problem wif bottles now but he is still not drinking enuff. sigh. juz last nite, he had another round of nursing strike and i had to give in coz it was 4 hrs since his last feed and he refused to latch. i was crying as i fed him EBM. i noe 4 the good of R, i shld juz give in to his needs (i.e to feed him milk the way he wants it to be) but i cant help feeling so dejected tt i am rejected by my own son. looks like this is irreversible but i will still wanna BF till he turns 1 yr old. i noe its stressful on me as well as my boy and many of u might feel tt i am being cruel by being so persistent. but it pains me to see him gg on hunger strike rather than latching on.

i will still persist but i shall give in to the btl when he fusses too much and its time for his feed. i juz dun understd why this is happening to me. hv tried so many methods and ways these past few mths. at times it will get better but most times will still b a challenge to latch him.

sorry for being long-winded but seeing at how u mummies facing problems for weaning off latching juz made me more envious.

Hi JRT,

Really admire your perserverance. Dancing is really tiring esp when your baby can only get heavier. I'm also trying to BF Chloe till she turns one. Hopefully my supply will keep up.

Actually I dislike pumping milk and wish I could latch Chloe on for all feeds. Nowadays I get to latch her on only at night because of work. When she start liking the bottle a couple of weeks back, I felt a weird sense of loss which is hard to describe. She has also recently become quite particular about her latch on position. She'll want to lie down so I can only latch her on at home where I can lie down next to her to feed.

Anyway, just want to say 'Jia you' to you. Keep offering to latch on. Hopefully your R will decide to cuddle up with mummy one fine day.

I'm equally clueless about KL. The last time I went there, I remember it to be somewhere in the residential already. It like a big shopping mall out side of town. Best way to get there is by taxi.

BTW, its One Utama and not Wan Utama.

Emma, you guessed correctly. We were trying to imitate anne geddes. Hee hee. Not very original hor!

Orange.. the spa part was pretty shiokadalic.. hehe.. 20 minutes of jacuzzi, followed by an hr of full body massage.. hehe.. then hub and i went shopping.. keke.. nothing much to buy tho.. but still fun lahz..

hub and i agreed alr.. no need to book resort room to stay overnight.. juz go there early, do spa, go shopping and come back before nightfall..

that way, i wont have to miss enzo so much.. keke...

Be glad you didn't take the antenatal classes for I didn't find it useful except for those last 2 sessions conducted by the nurse/lactation person. Is Dr Thong male? I was quite insistent on having a female gynae back then...

i can understand the special bond u have with reubern through b-feeding. its not just about the milk, right? so hard to explain.

if i can be a full-time sahm till she self-weans, i'd gladly TBF and throw away all the bottles. but thats not the case.

at least R is still getting the best milk there is u know! he would still get the nourishment he needs to be strong healthy baby...even if its through the bottle.

for rae ann, i really don't know at this point what to do...probably will take Orange's suggestion and buy the Medela cup feeder. my greatest fear is that she becomes undernourished from not drinking enough milk while i'm at work...

u've done well to keep giving him the best all this while...its not easy to keep pumping everyday, right? i mean our lives totally revolve around fillng up their tum-tums!

and R's tum-tum will continue to be filled!

i also wish to continue to latch javier as long as i can. and plus he also likes to latch. like wat u said, its the bonding that i like.
but hor, i will be away next mth. so got to 'break' his habit. else he will suffer very badly when i'm not around to latch him. dont have a choice.

so i can only hope that when i'm back, and he still wants to latch. then i can still latch him during the night feed.

Thanks for sharing the information. I have temporarily stopped giving Victoria the stage 2 and will only resume giving it to her when she turns 7 mths. How careless can I be?, it is clearly indicated on the tin!! Fortunately, Victoria had only consumed 2-3 scoops.
