Glad that Kay does not have HFMD! If its just an allergy then probably just apply more calamine lotion to prevent her from scratching. Nowadays HFMD on the rise mah, so naturally the first thing that comes to the doc's mind is HFMD and not others. But they should consider many other alternatives though! THat time i was sick, the stupid doc was even worst! he thought i had dengue cus he used this electronic machine to take my blood pressure twice and left me some ugly mark on my arms. THen he said one of the symptoms of dengue is bruising! But its actually the stupid machine, make so tight of course have some bruising lah! i could feel my hands drained of blood and my fingertips all white liao!

Oh dear. Ya lor...but hb even asked the doc yesterday if the rashes are caused by the jab. And he said no. Somemore he took 1 look at Kay's rashes & said it's HMFD. Wah lao. But the doc today said the rashes doesn't look like HFMD leh.

Quite stupid right... made you worry for nothing! Luckily you went to seek 2nd opinion or else you will be worried sick not knowing whether its HFMD or something else

1st doc - well, like wat YLC says... HFMD on the rise. furthermore ur PD also says Kaylyn is the 1st case he heard. so think really uncommon.

Sorry if I confused you. I confused myself. I have time now to check and write properly. D has had 2 penumococcal jabs so far and he suffered from vomitting at 2 months (he had 2 jabs, 5-in-1 and pneumococcal) and the rash at 4 months, but he had 3 jabs that time. 5-in-1, meningitis and pneumococcal, so we dunno which caused it. So cruel. 3 jabs at the same time.

but wow!!! 2 jabs at one go... then 3 jabs at one go!!!! faintz!!!

i travelled with josh n jedd before.. only brough jedd furthest is Hong Kond. Jedd went to genting twice liao.. josh a little luckier.. went to rome n perth n KL n HK n Genting.. :p
its difficult to travel with 2.. the thought of it scares me.. hb wants to go NZ in oct.. (10 hrs flght!!) i protested but he say either NZ or Spore.. :S
i want to travel WITHOUT the kids.. i planned 1 trip to mumbai when josh was 4mths, last min cancel coz heart pain to leave behind.. now with 2.. i really dun hv the guts to take off.. ;S

if kaylyn hv hfmd, she will hv fever.. both josh n jedd had fever for 2 days before the spot came out.. some hv liquid inside.. like blisters.. not pus.. which doc u went? i call my pd tmrw to ask if he has seen kids allergy to the P jab.. are her spots flat or raised?
Do apply some calamine lotion to helf her ease the itch..
 
ep, i havent decided on whether i should bring Germayn. im wont be bringing the twins though..if not i think i might go crazy..but im abit afraid of bringing germayn there also. how was your experience bringing jess and josh to HK? i think HK is abit less baby friendly compared to SG, so im quite scared.

and ya, Kai is down with HFMD also. hai. sian man. it seems like it's a matter of time Germayn gets it.. cos she's coming home tomorrow.

how old is germayn now? i bought my stroller n sling to HK for the baby.. food is easy. water is clean. taxi is cheap. only went to ocean park.. josh was a bit too young for disneyland. m afriad he cant go onto the rides.

MenC is not available here..I know is a must in UK? Anyway, I personally find it too much to have so many jabs on a baby at one go...though i know we seek for peace of mind and also protection for our babies.

BTW, what is the interval between 2 jabs of pneumococcal jabs? These few months, going to have chickenpox, followed by MMR and then 5 in 1....wondering whether should space out the other 2 prevenar jabs. (Too much injections liao..painful leh! )

So me and Blessings got the right guess. hee hee..

My PD also make a mistake the 1st time. He also told me Janelle got HFMD when she was down with fever and lot of uclers in her mouth. No blister on her hands and legs. That was my 1st encountered so i trusted the PD.

Then it came back again, this time she already withdrew from childcare. It really puzzled us and we brot her back to the PD. PD checked her past record and apologised that Janelle was having Herpes not HFMD. I am not angry with him lah cos there is no medicine for Herpes and HFMD. Furthermore, he admitted his mistakes.

So now i know HFMD must have fever, ucler and blisters.

Weeks ago, the school call me and told me they found one blister on her hand and one on her foot. Suspected of HFMD but she has no fever. I came and fetched her (i was on MC too). I checked, i was not convinced but i told the school i will let her rest at home for the rest of the week. I waited, waiting for the outbreak cos doctor will not be able to confirm it is HFMD without blisters on hands and feet, ucler, fever.

Cruelly, i waited for the outbreak within her body. Two days, she was eating well, no fever, i asked and she told me no pain in her mouth. By sunday, still ok. I didnt bring her to PD at all. I brot her back on monday told the teacher, she didnt have outbreak, i cannot bring her to see doctor. So no doctor letter to prove she is free of HFMD. hahahaha.....

I am so bad right...

at least the school suspected Janelle had HFMD based on the blisters. My gal's school called me once and asked me to bring her back when they found flat spots on her hands. Wa piang, no blisters, no fever, no ulcers and they asked me to bring her home. actually i dun blame the teacher for being careful but sometimes they get too 'gan jiong' and paranoid. For me, it's still ok cos the childcare is near my parents house so my dad can bring her home anytime. but imagine for those parents who are not so lucky, they have to take leave and leave wasted if false alarm. If false alarm once in a while ok, but just imagine false alarm every now and then...

I dun blame the teacher too cos they have 1 case in Janelle class so they very gan jiong.

Luckily I was on MC, even i wasnt I cannot risk to let Janelle go over to IL's place and let both kids share the virus.

BTW, how is your ger primary 1 enrolment? Is it this year? You wanna enrol her into Kong Hwa right?

enrolled liao. confirmed a place cos I was a old gal so registered in an early phase, about 3 weeks ago. now not so stress in the sense that her brother oso secure a place already.

I check the website. KH need balloting for kids that is >2km away. I am still battling whether to push my hubby to join the clan.

Another choice will be Tanjong Katong Pri. No balloting require for the school this yr.

but KH nearer to ur house, within walking distance rite? I thot ur house is within 1km? If you wan to join clan, got to join at least one yr in adv, got to be kia su a bit. wah, if ballot required, very stress one, all down to luck...

I need some advice from mummies here. Have started my girl on Gain IQ but she has been having diarrhoea or rather very loose stools since. I didn't give her full strength but mixed with Similac. Should I stop giving her Gain IQ or continue giving and monitor to see if the diarrhoea will go off?

Kay's rashes subsided when I checked her this morn. The spots on her hands are almost gone & the ones on the feet are much lesser. She doesn't scratch her feet. Hmm..seems the lotion helps to ease her itch.

Some of Kay's rashes are raised & some are flat. There's no liquid inside the rashes. Kay's rashes similar to hives. That's y at 1st we thought insect bite. I went back to the GP who administered the Pnuemococcal jab.

How come Germayn is coming home so soon when Kai is still having HFMD? Do try to separate the kids cos HFMD is HIGHLY contagious! Not only will the child have fever, ulcers & blisters. Their appetite will also be greatly reduced! Germayn is still so young. Better not let her expose to such virus.

After 1yr old, only need to take 2 Pnuemococcal jab. Interval between the 2 jab is 2mths. For Kay's case:
red{1st Pnuemococcal Jab: 12mth
2nd Pnuemococcal Jab: 14mth
Chicken Pox (optional): 15mth
MMR: 15mth
6-in-1 jab: 18mth}

I think it's better to be safe than sorry lor. Understand if the CC or IFC teachers are overly cautious abt HFMD. At least we'll b more assured that if other kids in CC have HFMD, our child will not be affected.

But of course, it'll be very troublesome for working mummies who dun have alternative arrangement for their child. Esp need to take leave etc etc. Mayb next time when I start working, I'll also complain abt the teachers for wrong diagnosis. Haha.

My doc says normally for HFMD, the blisters on hands & feet will come together with ulcers in mouth. If it's only blisters on hands/feet but no ulcers in mouth, and vice versa...then unlikely to be HFMD. And also..fever will ALWAYS come before the ulcers & blisters starts.

Plain water is still best for a child. Ribena & glucose water are too sweet. Worried the child will develop sweet tooth & dun wanna drink plain water in future.

My Kay is on full Gain IQ now. No problems with her stools.

Hmm..mayb u just stop giving her Gain IQ for awhile. See if the situation improve. If not, then unlikely caused by the FM.

Btw, I tried your minced meat with oatmeal recipe. My girl loves it! I substituted the minced beef with fish and sometimes minced pork. Guess she's v sian with my porridge liao. Haha.
 
blessings, ckn pox and MMR can be administered together with prevenar. Emerson had his ckn pox and 1st prevenar together. One of each tigh. Save me the trip down to the doc.

I have same problem as you. My boy had loose stool since i started mixing gain. then suddenly fever one night. brght him to PD and he said not to mix his FM like the abbot person told us to. He said not good to mix. But substitute one feed with gain totally and monitor. then slowly switch out the other feeds. For now, I am back to similac.
 
Emerson, me and hubby all sick.. haiz.. Hubby is the worst. He got fever, flu and cough. Me and E only have flu.. Very tired these days. Coz my hb sleep n sleep... and I have no energy to keep E occupied..
 
I'm also giving Emerson Gain IQ and he seems to like it.. wake up zhun zhun every 3 hr in the night to drink milk.

Hong - I didnt see the muscial chair in the list leh, only dora, and sesame street stuff...

Wah! Emerson got 2 jabs @ the same time. Each at each thigh? Kay already cry like hell for 1 jab. Then yesterday brought her to doc, the moment she saw him, started crying. Haha.

Yb yah he got 2. but like all other jab he didnt cry much, only when the needle poked into him he whine abit after that he's okay le.. I think the doc did it very fast too.

ya me enrolled isaac on 31st july..under phase 2C..cos isaac the 1st kid and me not old sch gal or whatever...registration under 2C is from 31/7 to 2/8...i registered him in elias park pri..vacancies is 117..as at 1 aug..already taken up 91place liao..so if today more ppl enrol then think will need to ballot liao..which i hope i dun hv to go thru that...think orientation is in nov/dec...

Meningitis is a UK requirement. It's prevalent in the Middle East (hence pp going on haj need the jab) and in London cos of the middle eastern population there.
