Cheri,
There are many ways to prepare baked macaroni with cheese.

For soaked, uncooked macaroni and raw meat:
Use a bit of olive oil (or melted butter for fragrance), add a bit of water(or chicken broth) then top/mix with meat to cook in the oven for about 30 minutes. Take out and top with vege to bake for another 5~10 minutes depends on the type of vege used, then finally top with shredded cheese and bake for 5 more minutes, or until cheddar cheese is throughly melted.

You can also boil cook the soaked macaroni until soft, then take out and stir-fry with meat and carrot and mushroom with a bit olive oil (or butter) in the non-stick pan (so that the food won't be too oily and sticked to the pan) until the meat is done. The baking time can be reduced to 15~20 minutes and later top with cheese and bake for another 5 minutes.

Another version, fry/cook all the ingredients except cheese until fully cooked. Top with cheese then leave it in the toaster to toast until the cheese melt and turn light brown.

PM
Have you tried adding fresh milk, butter and cheese to the potato? I also don't have time to cook fancy stuff for D so I'm sharing easy to prepare foods. ;-)

blessing,
U can prepare the baked rice in microwave oven or toaster if you pre-cook the ingredients.

PM,
Alfred refuse to brush teeth at night.. and after his night feed he just turn into sleep like a dead log and start snoring so I got no chance to feed him with water.. sigh..

The cheese I use is in pack with long tubes like sausages.. just take out one tube and mash it to top the macaroni..

melody,
If you go NTUC/Liberty, there's only one brand selling the cheese tubes in pack. Should be quite easy to identify. But I remember Mrs Chan did mention another brand where the cheese are less salty and packed in tub. She got hers from Cold Storage.

Hello mummies....

I think the laughing cow cheese is called horizon and its organic.

I fed andrea with cheese and yogurt when she was around 6mths.

Has tried a variety of cheese, cheedar, morazella and ricotta. Prefer riccota as the salt content is not as high as the rest. Basicaly think they are able to take cheese but try not get the processed type like kraft, normally what i get are those in triangular form .... this is what i called real cheese ;op

Jolin

R u coming to delta gym tomorrow? come la, my andrea look forward k ;op

PM,
my Alfred likes to eat dumplings recently. I modify the normal bak chang recipe and change the glutinous rice to brown rice and leave out some spices so that it allows him to accept the taste and digest the chang easily.

My mil adopted my recipe to custom-make the mini baby bak chang for him, keke..

PM,
Same...Kay also dun like the mash potatoes that i cooked for her...she prefer KFC's potatoes...hahaha

Kay also starts to reject milk now...she can only drink 3oz at most...then also reject porridge...aiyoh...I really dunno wat to do.

My mum cook macaroni for her, she also rejects..sigh...

PM,
Have to slowly & continuously brush their teeth lor...let E get used to it..

I give u 1 example. When my nephew was still a baby, he doesn't like to brush his teeth..& alway bite my mum's fingers when she tried. So in the end, my mum gave up & didn't brush his teeth for a long long time. Then now he's 4 & his teeth are all so yellow...even brush also cannot remove the yellow stain. Luckily now he sees his younger sis brush teeth then he follow. Else it'll be worst.

Kay likes to play wif the 1st teeth toothbrush & she also likes the taste of the toothpaste. She keep sucking majiam like eating sweet.

PM,
How about baked rice? Like those in Swensen's? Cooked the white rice, then add cook meat or veg on top, finished off wif morzerella cheese on top & bake for 15mins? no need cook stock or anything..cos cheese itself is already salty.

Mrs Chng,
Both me and hubby will take leave tomolo. Hav checked w my mil, her appointment time is in the afternoon. V high chance will meet u there if we can go around 3pm after sending my mil to the clinic.. We first time going there.. anything to look out for?

melody
I've gotten D a few different brands but I prefer Kraft sticks (Joine uses as well) cos I like individually packed cheeses (but cubes aren't as healthy) and it contains an enzyme that's good for teeth.

ha...reading thru all the postings...

So I'm not the only one...I also start noticing that my baby doesn't like porridge like he used to. Also started feeding him on ABC pasta, macaroni, udon....but not as fanciful like some of the mummies here cos not very good cook...

Lazy mummy like me will boil the udon, cut it into small pieces and add in Heinz pasta sauce (jar food)....and maybe cubes of carrot or minced pork...thank god he like it and finished one big bowl..

Haa..haa...just asked my PT cleaner on cooking recipes...She said she has 1 book of soups gd for babies.

I think since my Kay doesn't like eating porridge, then I have to cook rice & soup for her liao. Then I can also eat & dun have to eat bread everyday.

YB,
My mil used to sell chang for dumpling festival when she's staying in her old house with 2 kitchens for her to prepare and cook the chang.
This year can't sell cos she's busy to look after my son. Maybe next year bah..

Take a look at the finished special chang at my blog:
http://mummysandy.blogspot.com/
See whether u like it or not before u decide to cater, keke..

melody,
not really leh.. i cook and bake a lot before my ILs moved in.. but soon after they come I've lost my territory (kitchen) to my mil liao.. sometimes can't even find my baking accessories so I kinda give up and let her cook and bake..

wow.... all the food talk also.
weird today jun & Jul thread all talking abt food. hahaha

Joline - wow u sounds like really a great chef. BB A got kou fu.

YB - scan n email to us the cookbook. haha :p

Zav - glad to say tat he is still eating his bland porridge (no stock etc... just dump in everything n cook only) n drinking his milk. :p

Joline,
so u can save ur $$. I think 2.5 yo is a gd age to visit dentist. U have alot of time to do research before sending ur boy.

Yummy dumpling. Alfred eating the dumpling? A bit to digest for the bb. Little bit bit shld be ok.

Dsii,
heh, Julian really cant last time. Until i decided to switch to another room. I place two mattress on the floor. He sleep beside me and like that i dun have to worry he will drop off from bed. I off all the light, dun even want to on the nite light. If he crawl away then i grab him back. Did a few times and he goes Zzzzzzz...
Sleeping at nite - Julian is so much easier than Janelle. I used to pat, sing, battle with Janelle for an hr plus before she sleep.

Ian still sleep in sarong at nite? Julian only nap in sarong but refuse to sleep in sarong at nite.

Zita,Mummies
i went to HV. nothing much now. The polo tee are for bigger kids. I din get any for Janelle but i got her another dress and a pant for Julian.

YB,
I still prefer to boil chicken bone to prepare the stock for the family. If only me and hubby eating i dun mind using chicken cube but for kids i wun use that.

Unless there is chix cube that is meant for kids.

Joline,
I love dumpling and that dumpling looks sooo yummy... makes me want to eat one now.. how I wish I can make one too. Maybe you can teach me when we meet up next time.. hehe.. you know so much abt cooking..

Mrs Chng,
I know of Horizon yoghurt for babies but havent come across horizon cheese or maybe I did not really look "scan" properly. I have the Laughing Cow cheese in wedges....is this ok for babies?

YB,
I also think we shouldn't use chicken cube for bb not so healthy.

Hong,
U got a pant for Julian.. so they brought in more clothes for boys already?

sleeping - I also use Hong mtd... fake sleep beside him. he see no one going to play with him... then he also go sleep. haha

Dsii,
Sleeping...ashley same as Ian...i need to carry her and pat her backside to sleep if nt she will take forever to sleep.

Food -So ashley is nt the only one rejecting her porridge. Since she has turn 1 i hv bean to close my eyes on many food. On her 1st bdae, i gave her japanese rice and surprisingly she love sushi (plain rice only without the topping).
When ashley reject her porridge, i will jus give her plain bread...abit like unnutritious but at least she eat sm food.
Need to learn more food receipe liao fm all mummies

MTDT,
No, no.. I'm not a good chef, can mess up things at times.. I believe some mummies here are better than me in cooking

hong,
I have no intention to bring alfred to see a dentist at this moment, unless there's a strong reason to do so.. My mil said it's a waste of $$.. and I think my hb won't buy the idea also.. unless he has spare $$ to do so.. keke..
Just that my company doc will keep pysco-ing me when i go for check-up next time..

Alfred is sharing his dumpling with me most of the time. We try not to give him an impression that it's going to be his main course. But true enough that he likes it, cos it's differnt from his normal food. And he enjoyed taking his dumpling while we are taking ours at the same time..

One thing, everytime he poos we can smell the dumpling.. wahaha.. We have finished all the dumplings at home liao, so no more dumplings for him. The next one will be the mooncake liao..

YB,
My mil got sell rocher choc snow skin mooncake every year.. u wan to order or not?? keke..

pooh - where u stay huh? how to borrow the EYS card? or can just quote some member no??

sushi - huh.... i gave zav sushi when he was like 7-8mths old liao... :p and yes he loves it. KFC Whip potato is also his fav. he can finish the whole tub himself. :p

melody,
I'm still a CSC member, on and off will go to clubhouse to join the cooking workshop. Learnt my dumplings there. But no chance to make cos dun wan to throw face in front of my mil who's an expert, keke..

I like to collect recipes. One of the source is from this link http://fenyingrecipe.blogspot.com/
Simple steps are given and easy to follow.

Hi,
i;m from august mum 06...

any mummies had enrol/enrolling baby for BJG or My Gym... what your feedback so far?? worth the $$?? thinking of enrolling baby either BJG or MY GYM... can give some comments??? or there better choice other than these 2??

many thanks

jesline -

BJG - I attended 2 terms there. Good in a sense that it's a mixture of activties. Esp if you believe in Glen Doman's mtd, BJG is the only place tat incorporate flashcards in his mtd. besides the usual singing songs with actions, they hv flashcards of words, maths dots, photomemory etc to simulate right brain development. Gym activites is only about 10-15mins. and focus on Glen Doman mtd too. like doing the "monkey bar", swinging baby in mid air etc.

MyGym - Good place too. I prefer myGym than other gym plces. similar to BJG - also hv circle time, songs with hands actions etc. Diff is no flashcards, and they more focus on gym time like obstacle course, balancing, somersault etc.

Hi, MTDT

Thanks for your reply.....is there any teachers at BJG that r much better than the rest? R u still attending BJG? Which session???When u started baby on BJG & My Gym??

MTDT,
I'm CSC member, go Bt Batok clubhouse v often. Since u mentioned the winebar, I'd like to recommend 3 more hot places to hold functions at the same clubhouse:
1) http://www.csc.gov.sg/html/bukitbatok/bb_swimming.html - nice pools with nice landscape, which i plan to hold alfred's bday party there initially. But need to cater from in-house buffet caterer
2) http://www.csc.gov.sg/html/bukitbatok/bb_treehouse.html - can have BBQ there

3) http://www.csc.gov.sg/html/bukitbatok/bb_bowling.html - Westwood Bowl
