quick brushing is better than no brushing. Slowly they'll get used to have to brush their teeth, so next time when they're older & have more teeth,also no problem.

check with u all roughly how many months ur bb knoes how to stand n can they walk nw , mine is end of jul turning 1 but still cannot hold n stand on himself lei a bit worried

is ur boy the chubby and heavy type? Give him alot of opporunity to practise hold and stand.

My boy can hold and stand but he still cant stand without support.
 
At 10 mth can stand alone for a couple of seconds without support
He's turning on 1 July, now can take a few steps forward liao

Why dun u call and check with your PD?

Do u normally put ur bb in the walker? It does slow down the learning process if bb relies on the walker to move around

Every baby develops at their own pace, some develop faster and some later. Those who develop faster will slow down while slower ones will catch up. I am sure he will hit the milestones very soon....so not to worry cos every babies are unique

Ashley is 1 yr old liao but also can only stand & walk with support. my mum say they will walk naturally when its time..but understand tat i also cant help worrying when sm other bbs younger than ashley are walking liao
 
There's this saying that BB will be blessed with good life if he/she knows how to walk only after he/she turn 1 YO.

YT, are u the one who told me this?

LIke wat blessing mentioned, every bb is unique & develop at their own pace. Some bb can walk at 11mths, while others walk at 18mths, so not to worry.

Some babies may b concentrating on other skills, i.e. talking, motor skills, other than walking.

So let them set their own pace & dun worry as long as they're healthy.

Thanks for reviews. Am not looking for choc cake, but RFD only has choc (I dun like carrot), I'm looking for very good cake artist with nice tasting cake. Awfully Choc is nice but they're not able to do much with design.

Dentist
St Andrew's is very child friendly (I saw other kids) and their dentists and assistants damn nice and professional. Very patient even with adults. Every single person I've recommended sings their praises.

Other mummies are sick of hearing me say this ;-p but I used to say that I don't believe walkers are bad and my bb used to use it a lot cos he finds it very fun to zoom around. Well, he walks steadily at 11 months. I'm not advocating the use of walkers but I do find all the negative hype surrounding it's use unwarranted.

Janelle is still crawling when she hits one. I think she only walk ard 14-15month.
Old pple believe the kid will be of gd fortune only to walk after 1yo.
 
think like wat YB says... they will reach their milestone eventually.

maybe bbies are focusing on other aspect? like some bbies can climb down from high area (like sofa / bed), while some bbies still cant etc.

but think as parents (esp 1st time parents, we bound to be paranoid abt everything haha) Just be mindful but dun compare with others.

My girl can't really stand well unsupported at 11 months!! But heck, it's really a matter of time. Like what YB said, as long as our bb is healthy, we are very blessed already.

I agree with u. My MIL said some bbs talk first before they walk while some can walk before they can talk. All BBs progress individually.. Just to make sure they are not lagging behind too much..
 
Ya...every baby develop differently. My boy only started to crawl when he turn 9 mth (he is born on 31 July). Can stand without support for few seconds but only got 1.5 teeth (i think the 0.5 on the way out)...so every baby is different.
 
my elder boy can walk 1-2weeks after his 1st bday..ard 11 mths..he can stand unsupportedly for at least 30secs...now ian at 11mths..but still unable to stand unsupported...then cant call mummy n dady yet...so different bb different pace...i oso worried..but at times tell myself,. ian will be calling us soon!!! adn hor..dunno he lazy or dunno...dun want to wave..dun want to clap..haiz...

where's the dentist tat you mentioned? I may bring kay there next time...btw, when do we need to bring our bb to dentist? When all their milk teeth is out?

I just called my dentist friend and he says from 4yo. Dylan only has 2 teeth so it'll be quite extravagant to bring him to the dentist at 1. ;-p St Andrew's has a very big clinic in Amara Shopping arcade. They have a branch in Hougang Ave 10 as well. I've never been to Hougang one. The new clinic in Amara very impressive.

I thought I read somewhere saying that babies will somehow wean off by themselves. Now I've started training her to drink formula already. each day she willing to drink more. i make her drink during meal so far never just milk by itself cos she will not take...well slowly train lor, what to do!
I started brushing my ger's teeth using finger toothbrush since her very 1st tooth. she loves it guess it's very comforting when brushing her gum. everytime i just mention lets brush teeth, she will automaticlly open her mouth already...funny! now she got her 5th teeth liao!
 
Really 'peifu' u mummies who can still remember how your milk teeth looks like, i absolutely have no recollection at all...

Gillian just started teething only...haha, think she will still be 'bo gay' on her 1st bday :p

But she has this habit of biting her lips since many months ago especially just before n sometimes during sleep, now that she is teething, she bite till her upper lips bleed leh, have tried giving her pacifier but she doesn't want, is there anything else i can do??

Summer is biting her arms till blue black one le. that time i didn't know thought what happen and got worry. my PD also worry saying if the black spots doesn't go away or got more come out must go and do blood test. then i rubbed and it went away...after that i observe and true enough she is biting herself...now still!

OMG! Aiyo like dat how? I rather offer my arms for her to bite, but for Gillian a bit difficult..lips leh. Haiz...hope they will grow out of it...so far saw her lips bleed twice liao, then look so dry n chappped...so heartpain

Gil may be biting her lips cos it's very sore? Did u try giving her cooled teether to bite on? Or handkie chilled in fridge beforehand. Kay likes to bite the handkie filled wif ice-cube. I think it helps to numb the pain.

She likes her chilled teethers, problem is she bites her lips more like a self-comforting habit just like some babies suck pacifier to sleep, or like Kaylyn suck her fingers. So kinda difficult to stop her especially when i do like her to sleep asap as well :p
 
Ryan also likes to bite his arms at times cos I notice teeth marks...ahahahaha....wonder why it is not painful?

Btw, is it common for babies to have bruises at this age? Ryan has one on his arm but disappeared a few days later, now, one on his leg...dunno where he has hit himself?

Let you know tmw. Or you can search yellow pages. St Andrew's Dental Surgeons. Dr Jimmy is the best but v difficult to get an appt. Dr Justin is second best. ;-p If you get an appt with Jimmy, You can let him know I recommended you.

My MIL & their family dun allow us to let Jayden walk before 1 yr old. They say if walk too early will be 'ming ku'. Hmm, I dun believe lor. When they want to walk, nothing can stop them lor.

Kay also has lotsa bruises on her arms & legs. Today, she already knocked her head twice.

Whats with the old folks tale?? Wah liao... my ger already started walking leh... so ming ku meh??? wah liao... if everyone believe, then instil this thought in their children, sure come true one what... anyway i dun believe lor... these abilities come naturally to them... its just a matter of time when they start to crawl, walk n run. As parents, we just have to sit back, relax n enjoy their growing process! Worrying n comparing probably might stress them even further!

I've also heard of BBs walking early.. but I dont think its sounds very logical, I just let E develop at his own pace.

Blessings, Emerson gets heat rash so very often too. just a few days ago, he has this red angry rash then i applied calamine lotion for 2 days and its gone by the 3rd.AT home, i will dress him in singlet with big armholes and collar..u know those parsar malam kinds with many holes in them. Its cheap and good,i feel his comfy in those Ts else when the eather is hot!
 
Mummies, E has been rejcting my porridge lately, eating lesser and lesser.. even worse for cereal.. he dont want at all.. does that mean he's ready for "table food"? Anyone starting their bbs on that already?

My girl behaves the same.
She enjoys much when I have the meal together with her, then she will eat. Try not to cook the porridge too watery, you can consider to give E rice with soup. 2 days ago, I bought 5 grains of rice from an organic shop for her, she enjoyed it. The rice fragrant was great!
For cereal, she refused to take since 2 mths ago.

OC - biting lower lips

huh, hv to be mindful about it.... if she keep sucking on it, her lower teeth might grow "inwards" becos of the constant pressure form sucking her lower lips. (my nephew had tat problem when he was young)

Zav at one pt also keep sucking his lower lip... like wat u say if during sleeping time, he will be v angry if I take it out. Wat i did was i slowly increase the freq. maybe 1st nite, i only stop him 1 or 2 times... then by 3rd nite, i will stop him 3-4 times etc. now he is rid of tat habit.

but he got a new habit... "abit more harmless" one. he will keep using his fingers touching/rubbing on this lower lips... maybe becos tat how i stop him :p
 
well i guess all our darlings are individuals on their own, hit milestones on differnt pace... some slow this, fast that blah blah...

anyhow, we'll love them as they are...

still i kinda hate my mil w/all e super piang pantangs! this cannot that shouldnt... always scold him smelly, notti.... WTF scold now will be better person when grow up... damn, as if his son very smart lor... hahhahha....

seth only got 4 upper & 2 lower... bites everything! eats plastics & paper bits off e "toys"!
not sure if he's teething, but he's rejecting solids like porrridge & cereal even!

I believe that each babies will develop on their own phases too. Audric can't stand unsupported nor clap hands, wave bye-bye. Also, he dunno how to call mama n daddy yet. Abit worried too. But i always tell myself that he will knows eventually, so not point worrying. Haha

Lately, Audric been rejecting me, refuse to let me carry him or feed him. Whenever, i want to carry or feed him, he will shake his head. Been feeling rather sad.

Dun be too upset... its a phase they are going through... having a favourite person. My Caitz also have her favourite person. When her favourite person carries her, she wont want me to feed or carry her. I feel sad she also wont know... sigh... then whats the point of being upset?? hahaha

Thanks for your words. But i dun think its about having favourite person. Audric allows my mil, fil n my hb to carry him but not me. He used to stick to me like superglue. My hb said because i am too harsh towards Audric so he dun likes me.

Aiyo... i think cannot be too harsh on bbs lah... last time during our bjg class, the teacher said cannot smack bbs with our hands.. must talk to them sternly n tell them y its wrong n reason with them. After that, i nvr smack caitz but tried reasoning with her. sometimes can talk to her until can faintz hahaha
