(2006/07) JULY 2006 MTB

Hi to all mummies at MY GYM yesterday. Great to meet all of you.

Anybody got nice pics taken? Can post? Just check my pics taken by my hubby...not very nice lei....

YLC - Think we just feedback n not complaint bah, complaint seems to be like so harsh and like u say might complicate Shihui and the new teacher - Jess?
Maybe like Hong mentioned, we jus feedback taht the teacher is not ready to teach the class as she forgets the song lyrics and it didnt manage to catch our babies attention, and that we think we shld have another makeup....??

Hi Peach,
I have a doctor friend who is finding a new employer for his maid as he is leaving for Australia. She is experienced in looking after infants, children and the elderly. If you are interested, I'll PM you his testimonial for the maid.

YB,
Hope Kaylyn has a speedy recovery! Cheer Up

Julie - staying at pasir ris. i don't mind a nanny. but need the nanny to be willing to accompany us to speech therapist once a month/fortnight for speech therapy lessons on how to teach K.

haven't really go thru the photos properly last nite.. will upload later tonight if i can

lollypop.. can pm me? or email me? [email protected] thanks ah..

Peach,
I think the working days stuff, you can sort it out with her if you are really keen in using her after meeting up. She should be quite good.

lollypop, yar.. i read saturday afternoon off n sunday whole day off n public holiday off.. abit.. difficult cos my MIL has quite alot of demands. like sundays must be back by 5pm, alternate sundays is spent doing marketing so my current maid misses church on those days because she needs to clean n cut the food on sundays. n by the time she's done it's too late to go out. =/

but i like the cook good food part n good with kids. only prob is it's been many years since she take care of infants hor..

lollypop, anyway i've forwarded it to hubby to speak to his mum about it n not to say that i was the one who found the recommendation. she simply brushed off the maid that i said my colleague recommended. =(

worst come to worst, juz get the maid to come work at my parents place instead n juz squeeze in the tiny house. heehee.. then i would be happier too.. can stay with my family. =D that would be the ideal-EST scenario! happy happy..

Peach,
The family is Eurasian, they party a lot at home, so I guess she can cook a lot of good food! Also, they always have relatives n friends visiting from overseas with children n babies, so she helps to take care of them. I hope you can find a good helper for yourself to take care of Kristen! Good luck!

Hi mummies,
Thanks for all ur concern. Am very touched! Although Kay's temp hovered around 37 degree, but her head & neck still felt warm.

This morning when I feel her head & neck, already not warm. So I guess she has recovered. Will continued to let her drink more water & barley.

Btw, I discovered tat Kay keeps scratching her neck last night. But there's no rashes. Can another tell me if the false measles start from the neck or from the face?

Pooh,
Actually, I haven't brought Kay to any PD except the one in the hospital where I delivered. I've been going to GP Dr Soh @ Hougang Green. But I heard there's a PD Dr Saw just opp my hse & always a lot of ppl cos he charge reasonably. But his clinic is only open in the morn & evening, so I got no chance to bring Kay to him yet.

Peach,
Yah..infant care is really ex. Tat's y I'm waiting for Kay to turn 18mths before going back to work. Childcare is about $300+/mth only. Mush cheaper compared to Infantcare.

YB, yar lor. anyway tomorrow going for infant care trial at babies inc. i like the sound of it n they have kindermusik n gymboree there which i like. just need to see if K can adapt to the other children vice versa.. n also the environment.

any mummies here send ur children to IFC? care to share what i shld look out for?

YB,

Quite a lot of bb see Dr Saw, but think his charges also not cheap & the Q quite long & no adv appointment booking too..u can try the "neighbourhood clinic" near the UOB bank..this GP is good, he will explain/share his diagnosis to us & assure us when thing are ok..but the -ve thing, v.....v long Q. But if u r SAHM, then can afford to go during off-peak hours..

Peach, I think the other thing to take note is the cleanliness n safety of the center cos now HFM cases are alot so take note and bb at this time tends to move around alot so need to take note of those hazardous items as well...

Peach, also check if the infantcentre has teachers who had/have the experience in taking care bbs of special needs.

mommies

YB the other time when E had fake measleas, it started off at the torso area and his legs. Didnt see them at the neck. It shldnt be itchy.

I realise lots of babies are sick this mth,my SIL4 daughter just admitted to hospital, her fever is 40 degree plus.

Really scary, think will isolate E for awhile..

dunno.. =(

PM.. alot bbies sick ah?.. mMmm.. now thinking if shld still bring K for daycare trial tomorrow.. haa.. tomoro is ultimate trial man.. 80 buckeroooos. *faint*

eeyore & CG.. thanks for the tips! i'm worried about HFM too. my SIL had HFM a few yrs back n it was terrible. she had to drink from a straw and swallowing was difficult even.. very kelian..

PM,

Most likely the site that u gave abt the home based business is a scam leh.

Peach,
the last time my Caitz went for a daycare trial, the v next day caught fake measles. sighz... thats when i decided not to place her in IFC.

peach,

i just pm u (not sure if i answered your qns cos i can't access my own pm). If u are concerned abt HFM now, then suggest u hold first. Despite all the good things that Babies Resort has, it is true that bbs get sick more easily. Joshua is a regular at the PD, but as the PD puts it positively, it may be better for him in the long run (build immunity)!

Lok,

Agreed...most bbs tend to get sick easily at IFC or CC..I wanted to sent my elder one to CC last time when she was 18 mths, but she was sicked for 1 whole week after the 3 days trial..pengz..some kids may get traumatized by the sudden change in environment also

Pooh, during the trial u stayed visible or went invisible? this is the first time i'm trying this out n completely on my own.

pretty nervous, altho K seemed totally fine during the "Separation time" at Mygym yesterday. did not even bother looking for me or hubby. whole time happily looking at other babies or playing with the toys.

Lok & YLC, just 1 trial n really so jialat ah? now i'm really thinking twice. but i think if i will still go. hope no regrets. Ya, u've answered my questions. will check for late fines! i think the location might be abit of a problem, will look at other more convenient locations.

lollypop, my MIL has called up ur doctor friend. =) hubby edited the email to take away the "peach" part of the email. hehe. anyway, looks +ve, she'll be arranging a meeting soon .. hee. thanks again~

pooh, sorry to hear that.

I sent joshua when he was 5 mths old. Generally, the younger they are, the less they will be traumatized.. No stranger/separation anxiety yet. So far, joshua gets the usual stuff (cold, cough, sensitive skin). U know what --- he will open his mouth willingly whenever he sees the syringe. I did ask the PD whether there are long term side effects of consuming all these medication but she assured me it's ok.

Peach,

I tried to be invisible but failed cos like wat Lok said it is better to sent kiddy to IFC/CC when they are younger cos stranger/seperation anxiety not develop yet so the bb are more willingly to let go..mine was too late, send her at 18 mths & cling to me like koala bear, the 3rd day we left her there even she cried like mad, ended up sick lor..withdrew her after the failed mission...hee..

Peach,

i stayed with Caitz n didnt leave but i didnt like what i see lah thats y i didnt put her in IFC. Anyway when Caitz was younger, she still cling on to me like koala bear so whether younger or older didnt have any difference to me, as long as she cant see me or close to me, sure cry one. But then, i heard from the teachers that as long as the parent/main caregiver leaves, after a while they will forget one so nothing to worry lor. It takes time for them to get used to it.

Hey pm, ylc & MTDT I going waterfun swimming trial this sun? did the organiser call yr?

ylc wan help draft the letter to bjg? i try calling BJG today...all on voice mail...haiz

Zita,
I think Monday they not open! thats y only voice mail! Draft letter ah? what u all wanna "complain" inside??

The swimming trial... the person didnt call me leh... wah liao... so slow one hahaha... wait i no longer interested liao... but i think they one by one call one leh... sigh...

ylc...not complaint lah...is feedback..heeheee..
stated that if future teacher is sick we would prefer a make up lesson rather then having a unprepare relief teacher that (forget lycris, flash wronge card n sing out of tune ,cant control our child) do yr wan leave down example? ..then we sign off together before the class on sat..! can or i veri bad?

lollypop, thanks

bad news tho. maid only available at the end of july and she's on trial now at another employer's place. apparently she's in "high" demand.

hurhur.. problem after problem. now MIL wants the maid to be under my name cos she's always travelling n too busy to deal with this but says she'll pay for the maid. not much of a problem rite? ... i'm just abit nervous about this... no one "experienced" like my mum to confide in now.. dunno what i'm jumping into.

Sorry Gals, I was away from my PC just now.
saw alot of pple msn me with concerns abt Zavier. Thanks!! Really Touched

He is diagnose to have Inguinal Hernia. Went to see PD on Monday morning, was refered to a PD Surgeon at Glen E. Thus schedule to hv a day surgery at Mt A on Wed morning.

According to docs, 2% of baby boys will get it. Altho docs keep assuring me that it's a very simple Op etc, but sigh... still v heartpain tat he hv to go thru all this.

Peach,
Hmm...mayb ur MIL is telling u indirectly tat she hopes u'll send Kristen to infantcare? Cos it seems she's interested in sending K to infantcare rather than replacing her maid.

Kay just woke up crying...but drank only 2oz..then cry again...think she's teething. Cos after giving her calpol, she drank another 2oz of milk.

Jshoppers - Sorry gals...
as I was out the whole day (running btw clinics) I was not able to place the orders.

I tried to order just now ard 9pm, but the website keep giving me Error site.
sad.gif
