hi mummies,
i'm new to this site as i was only introduced to it by a friend recently. My baby boy was also born in july last year so its nice to read about kindred spirits here!
btw, i've gone for the gymboree trial @ serangoon gardens. do try to go early as the parking there is really quite a nightmare!!

Sandy, Germayn can stand by herself holding on to the side of the cot since she was about 5 months+. She can cruise abit now. but she'll be abit..wobbly. Then it's quite funny..cos when she walks along the side of the cot, her long pants will slide down her butt, and by the time she reaches the other end, her pants would be gone. but she still can't really crawl yet. haha.
eeyore, i'll call u mabbe in the next few days to collect the bib from u k? am on mc today, having sore eyes, so think i think i wouldnt collect from you today.

Sandy, nope. didn't drink alot of milk. but i think Germayn's development is not that advanced la. Like, for my twins, Kai (korkor) learnt to flip and creep alot faster than Lycia (meimei), but lycia started sitting fast, and she started to crawl (as in, lift her tummy from the floor kind) faster than Kai even though Kai started creeping faster. Then Kai started to walk faster but Lycia started to talk faster. Haha. But they're almost on par now. Just that Kai can jump higher. hahhaha.

I think so,genetic influences also play part in determining baby development.healthy babies who are given the right food and plenty of love and attention will be able to learn all the skill they need to enjoy a good quality life,that what my PD said

my girl calls me mama already. now seems to say mama all day long. like her new found word! today i scolded her cus she tried to grab her bowl of cereals n spill all over. i scold her n she knew n cried. hb heard over the phone, his heart melt. ask me not to scold her. aiyo pampered princess.

Hi CL,
Don't worry about your bb's devt and never compare to others also. Every bb develops at their own pace. We only raise the alarm bell if the bb is exceptionally slower. FOr me, my bb is also rather slow in her physical devt...even though she is on the heavy side. She only know how to flip confidently when she is six months..HAHa..mum and I always say she is a lazy bum. Will show u all my ger in the March gathering

PD never tell me what percentile the last visit. But pd said my girl on the small side maybe b'cus she is still on full breastmilk. She said not too worry as long as she is alert and active, she should be growing well.

I surely go buy that helmet. Yesterday my boy try to shift or crawl to reach for toys but he topple from his sitting position and hit his head on the floor.. My son head next time sure very hard ... LOL

I agree with Lok, each infant develop in his/her own way.
My ger can only crawl near to 1yr old and she can only walk ard 14-15th month, now can jump and run so fast. hahaha..
I told the mummies in the gathering that i actually force my ger to crawl cos i think crawling is an important growthing milestone.
I feel that crawling is the training of all fours, picking themselves up to sit is a kind of balancing with ur upperbody with the butt.
Standing and walking is the overall balancing.
Thout i will prefer my kids to go thru milestone irregularless how long or fast they take.
They are just my personally view.
ylc, it is not true that bfed bb is smaller.
However u can always beef her up later. Most impt she is alert and active.

hi peachsorbet... exactly! once, we were out grocery shopping, hubby juz stepped away to buy something... suddenly my girl started wailing, got me so panicky!
btw... how do u post the digital scrapbook up? i know some girls do it in ppt, so not sure how to post... and for adobe, is it much much easier to use than ppt? and is that where you get all those pretty fonts from??? thanks!

Cait's pd said that breastfed bb are small in size. I didnt give her any FM so till now still on BM. Now keep forcing her to eat her cereal lor... haha i make only like 1 tablespoon of the cereal powder and 1 tsp of the brown rice mix together with BM (every week mix with different veg) and still my girl sometimes refused to eat all unless i force her to eat it all lor. Keep telling her must eat to grow up strong and healthy. She only wants to drink milk milk all day. Fed up I went to buy her a tee that said "Willing to work for milk... milk please..."

ya.. i agree with the rest. think baby's development is not too much of a concern unless baby is exceptionally slow. i remember my elder gal flipped when she was about 5 mths plus. b4 that i was trying and trying to let her flip cos her twin bro did so at 3 months. haha.
Sandy, they say for fraternal twins it could be genetic, from the mummy's side. but i dun have any twins from my side. mabbe there is, but it's a few generations away.

My gal starts to crawl today! Am amazed at the rate bbs develop. Cos during the gathering on Sat, lots of bbs crawl all over the plc, but my gal just keep lying there...hee..hee..mayb the stimulation from looking at the other bbs motivate her to learn to crawl.

I will be freelancing just a few days a week. My mum will look after D on those days but she works some days as well so it takes a lot of coordination. She says she can't look after D on her own (too much work and he's too heavy) and wants me to get a maid to help her but I'm not comfortable living with strangers. So I think I'd rather work less, earn less and look after D more myself. That's the plan for now, but am still sortof looking for a maid and battling the decision. It's a long term commitment cos I haven't the heart to return maids till they've worked for at least a year to pay off their debts. Some people exchange maids so freely and I feel very sorry for them.

dsiitan, yah lor.. my mum help me collect. so nice hor she. i suspect that she thinks i very lorsoh n slow. haha. >.< i love my mummy.
brambles, so i admire all these mummies lor. can handle baby on their own. haha. so useless n really lack confidence la.. very dependent on car also. haha. the only public transport kristen has taken is the t-a-x-i.
btw, very pretty fonts can be found for free here: http://www.momscorner4kids.com/fonts/ ... about scrapbooking, i really dunno how to work with ppt so can't comment. since long time ago i've been playing with adobe, personally i think it's very flexible n the learning curve a little steep but once u get the hang of it it's quite fun. the photoshop elements is very user friendly. click here click there..

eh.. i know one baby who is fully breastfed also, n is super fat like michelin tyre baby. he was 4 months old when i saw him. so puipui.. his parents quite slim one.. so not entirely related la. i guess it depends on each baby's metabolism n alot of other things =)

How fast or how slow (unless too slow lah) doesn't equate to the baby's intelligence or their level of happiness rite? so dun rush baby lor.. let them develop at own pace.

oh oh! u noe how i complained about my grouchy girl? today when hubby n i got home from work.. Kristen smiled n smiled n laughed when she saw us! she slap her thigh with her palm n kick her legs excitedly. n she laughed at every tiny thing we did. so amazing.. make mummy n daddy super happy. =)

Cos Dylan seems to b such a happy bb. He's always smiling..even when he fell down & bump his head, his cries only lasted for a short while.
Yes, I hope to go back to work, even if it's a part-time job. Unfortunately I do not have anyone to look after Kaylyn.

;-) Thanks. Yes, he's very cheerful. He behaves very differently when he's out of his own house though. Much more serious.
So when you do return to work, what do you intend to do with Kaylyn? I've considered leaving Dylan at infantcare esp after MTDT's account of what it's like, but the part-time fees are too expensive. Full-time fees are reasonable. I need to magically find a responsible experienced young baby sitter working her way through poly or uni. ;-p The babysitter aunties I'm not so sure about cos they're similar to MIL's. Haha. Do everything they're not supposed to like feed babies prawns. Ha.

Think I can only seriously consider going back to work after Kaylyn turns 18mths. I intend to send her to childcare. Cos infantcare is simply too ex! Most of the babysitters in s'pore are aunties, & tat's also the reason y my hb dun wanna leave Kaylyn wif babysitters.
