baby sleeping - i used to like having my girl sleeping with us... last time when she smaller n need to nurse alot in the middle of the nite.. but that day when she had to sleep with us (when she dirty her own cot mattress), wah.. at first i like..so cosy with my little girl again. but the whole nite she kicking away.. tosss n turn.. kick me.. roll here roll there.. end up mummy have eye bags in the morning.. not cosy at all.

my girl sleeps thru the nite on occasions.. usually when she's had her full nite feed. it doesn't matter whether she slept alot in the day or had very little sleep.. depends on her mood i guess?

hi peach,
tks for the link. Wow..not bad leh..50 dollars only. That lady selling away the Aprica pram. I've always like the aprica pram dunno why.

mezzo
there was not much promotion or advertising abt the mamil nite. I did not even know got this kind of formula until my fren told me recently. i think other milk powder brand dun hav this kind of formula rite?

Yenny,
Oh i also heard it from a fren. Think other milk powder dnt have anything similar. Maybe tonite i will try to give my girl water if she wake up see if works :p. Veri tiring to wake up to make milk plus these few days she wake up at 6am even earlier than my alarm clock.

eeyore,

I read from an article so i guess shld be true bah.... But dun worry lah.... now ur gal already 6-7 mths and she is a healthy gal.

I heard from my aunts that my mum did the give water in the middle of the nite for me n my brother since we were NBs in the hospital. Apparently it works.. but then again me n my brother are on the skinny side now.. haha.. dunno if it's cos of that? but my parents are also not fat la.. so prob genes too.

As for the effects, it doesn't bother me that she did that. I won't remember also. If my relatives didn't tell me I wouldn't know also..

May, yah lor.. 50 bucks only.. can spend the remaining $$ on a good cot mattress for ur bb to sleep comfortably. it's convertible to toddler bed somemore! >>> that mummy shld give me commission man.

mezzo
u know wat i do at nite? I'll prepare 2 bottles of water and 2 portions of milk powder and hot water in thermo flask and put them in the bedroom. So once he cries for milk, I'll prepare in the bedroom, no need to go to the kitchen. When my son wants milk, he very gan jiong one, cries until his lungs out. So in this way, I can give him milk faster.

Hi mummies!!

Caitlin doesn't sleep through the nite, she wakes up every hr or two to feed. Aiyo... my eyes like panda everyday. Want to make her sleep so difficult. She hates to sleep when in her grandparents' places unless being carried until she doze off. Only willing to sleep at home provided i sleep with her. Aiyo like that can't do anything.
HB fell ill so sleeping in separate rms from us. we bought cot for her she refused to sleep there only want to sleep next to me. She keeps snuggling up to me until i almost fall from the bed... hb the happiest cus he has more space while both of us squeeze in one small corner.

oh no oh no! i ask my mum to use ikan bilis to make stock for the porridge!!!! better tell my mum tonight not to liao. shit man.. i thot i read somewhere in the forum say ok leh.. siao liao lah

Hi mummies, been quite "stretched" lately...bb caught a cold n cough with a lot of phelgm. Not sure if she is not feeling well dats why have been fussing a lot n im really losing my patience. It's always a battle whenever i try to clear her mucus n feed her medicine, her hands will move all over d place to block, think my bed n sofa all stained with medicine syrup already.

This afternoon while she was there crying n throwing tantrums, i didnt want to carry her again for d umpteenth time so just look at her n waited for her to finish. She was crying away but when she caught me looking at her expressionless, she went all quiet n look at me back so we just 'stared' at each other for like 5 secs before i couldnt control n laughed...so dat kinda lighten d mood for both of us...haha

But im still so mentally drained....hope for a better tmr

Hi Hong,
Sure, no prob. I know it's not easy to care for 2 kids.

Hi Mezzol,
Think I'll find 1 weekend to cook porridge with ur recipe. At least if my gal rejects, can let hubby eat also...hee..hee..

Hi Sandy,
My gal didn't wake up for night feed since 3rd mth.

Hi OC,
Ya, now tat our bb are older & more mobile, our life becoming more & more diff...haa..haa..

My gal also likes to wrestle the spoon & grab the bowl during feeding. Now she likes to put watever she can grab into her mouth. Gotta b extra extra careful liao. She's 'eaten' my HP, remote control, bib, cushions, toys, books, pillows etc. She even likes to lick the floor & playmat!! LOL!!

YB,
Oh better not let her eat ur hp liao, my hp gone cos of my ger's saliva, my hb says d part where i plug in charger is corroded, haven bring to svc ctr, dunno how much it will cost to fix...haiz

Ya im so stressed when she put things into her mouth, do u mummies clean n wipe their toys everyday?

May, I regretted buying a sling and a kick and whirl carnival from FP for my son... I thought I shld get a mac claren pram instead of the combi one im using.

I also wish to train my baby to sleep in his own room, but its kind of difficult because he cries for pacifer/milk at night and I must on the a/c to sleep, so afraid that I close the door and cant hear his cries.

OC - Understand how u feel, that time i was equally drained too. I use to struggle with emerson during medicine time, but now ok liao. u put bb in a rocker or pram (reclining position). Prepare all the medication and put stringe in a cup. Shoot the medication at the side of her mouth and quickly press her nose abit, then go on with the other medicine, before she realise and taste it, its all over liao. I also hold on to a pc of tissue paper to stand by, just in case they spilt it out.

Hi PM,
U sound like an experienced mummy already!

Hi OC,
Yah, after trial & error, I also find that perparing medicine beforehand is very useful cos before bb can realise wat's happening, we've already finished giving them their medication. Other than having a box of tissue on standby, I'll also feed my gal water immdiately after medication. Hopefully will help reduce the taste inside her mouth.

Sigh..everytime I put away the remote control or HP, her eyes will follow. Then she'll make a big fuss as though we mistreat her. So nowadays whenever we switch the channel or wanna make phonecall, got to hide from her view. So tat she won't even think about wanting them.

I think my gal also addicted to computer liao. Everytime she sees me using my laptop, she'll wanna touch the keypad & mousepad & look at the screen seriously. Wah, majiam like she's very busy working in front of the computer..haa..haa

Hi PM,
Emerson looks so happy in the jumperoo. I didn't buy any such toys for my gal. So she always lay on her playpat..:p

Btw, if u coming for the gathering next wk, can bring my 1st teeth toothpaste? Recently got no time to go ur plc to collect.

YB,
If i can make it to your house gathering, i prepare abit more of my porridge let your gal try :p then you dnt have to force your hubby to eat the porridge if your gal reject.

OC,
My girl recently also down with running nose and cough. I understand what you mean by hard time feeing medicine. My girl wriggles like a worm the moment the medicine is near her. The most difficult part is dripping the nose drop into her nose. So now i will "attack" her with the nose drop when she fall asleep at night then she will shrek up from her sleep when the nose drop is dripped. Feel bad doing it but thats the only way to get the nose drop into her nose.
Maybe your girl is teething at the same time as well thats y she is fussing and crying? My girl also like tat and i tot maybe she is having flu and cough and uncomfortable then later PD told me that she is teething and a small tooth is already out. So that kinda explain y she was so cranky beside the flu and cough that she has.

Mummies,
did your BB ever wake up in the middle of the night and cry for no reason ? My BB wake up in the middle of the night and cry. Not hungry, not diaper wet etc Carry him and pat him until he quiet down but the moment we put him down he cry. In the end, i only BB song for him then he finally calm down and go back to sleep... hiaz

Hi sandy,

Could it be becos your bb is over-stimulated in the evening? For eg, he laughed too much or played too much closer to bed time? This is usually what happen to my ger when she plays alot before bedtime. She will cry before sleep or even in the middle of nite. Therefore, we usually try to wind things down a little during the evening, eg sing to her, talk to her etc.

YB,

Re. sleeping thru the nite..

My girl generally sleeps thru.. but she sleeps late, like 11.30pm and wakes up abt 8am. She sometimes wakes up once or twice but I'll nurse her while we sleep together.. Not 100% good rest for me but I think this beats having to wake up to make milk.. I realise that I can now fall asleep with her cos I'm too tired!

I also trained my girl to sleep by herself in her cot in her own room from day 1.. Will turn on the bb monitor so we can hear her.. This has really been good for the hubs and I cos we get some privacy and can move abt our room without worrying that we'll wake her.

But she needs to be carried to sleep during the day - she'll doze off in our arms but once we put her down she'll start screaming.. I decided I really cannot bear the cry-it-out method... My girl has definitely won this battle and has trained me liao.. sigh.. count my blessings that at the very least she can sleep by herself at night..

OC,
My girl also throws tantrums, esp when I change her diapers! she'll kick and kick and start crying.. When I raise my voice and say she's naughty, she'll stop and look at me with eyes big big!!! So funny.. our babies growing up and showing their individual patterns.

Zoe,
Actually found a schoolmate here.. Have pmed you!

Hi mezzo and OC,

regarding feeding of medicine, yesterday i fed my ger medicine (for rashes) with spoon instead of the syringe. SHe seems to enjoy it. For every spoon of medicine, I gave her some water and it works. I think for my bb, the sight of synrige freaks her out!

May,
i doubt so leh...already coming 7th month still cannot sleep thru the night. Hiaz next time got house how to put him alone in his bed room.

Mezzo, did u put the nose drops in yr fridge and drop them in her nose when its cold? THat could be why she shrek up in her sleep. Maybe u wanna let it cool down to room temp before dropping into her nose. I tried that and it wont wake my boy up so much.

May/Sandy, happens to emerson too.... but he's ok after we give him pacifer. Pacifer save my life and his! Hahaha

Nite_gal, i use to nurse my boy too when he was a baby and sleep together with him... So last time I didnt know how many times he wakes up at night, but now got no more milk liao and he's kinda of rejecting (and bite!) my nipples too.. hahah good too.. self weaning..

Hi, just wanted to check for those of u who've got BUMBO seat for ur bb, are u still using it now since I believe ur bb can sit unsupported already right? I wanted to buy but my bb almost 5mths old liao, not sure is it worth to invest.

dsiitan u mean even w the BUMBO seat, u still need to support him? or u meant if w/o the BUMBO seat, u need to support him?

my advice is buy a second hand one, $40 or so. Once your baby outgrows it, sell it away again. Shouldn't be difficult to sell. Just keep it in good condition

that's what i did, i bot a 2nd hand one when my baby was 4 months/ Now that he can sit by himself, i pass it on to my sis-in-law whose baby is about 5mths. Thereafter, we intend to sell it away :p

Hi edksd,
Dunno if ur boy can still fit in the bumbo seat. Cos I know the thighs may get stuck. Mayb high chair is a better investment? Since our bbs are ready for solid food.

nite_gal, my baby needs us to carry him until he falls asleep too, every nite. On good nites, he'll fall asleep within 5 mins of carrying. On the bad ones, we need to carry like half an hour, plus singing lullabye!
Mummies, how DO you get your baby to sleep everynite? do they just fall asleep by themselves when u put them in their cots??

Hi mummies!

i think my hb is infecting me with his flu... i'm like sniffing away... drinking lots of water to 'cure' it the natural way.

BB cait called me mama yesterday... was so happy. i noticed her first tooth, its so cute! but last nite was horrible... she kept waking up from 3-5am... i was awake from that time to carry her and feeding her. Every time put her down on the bed, she will wail out loud. Aiyo, hear already also heart melt.

ylc,
Wah! Ur gal can call MaMa already arh! Clever! My gal will blabber alot, but can't make out wat she's talking.

Hi Upie,
My gal fall asleep on her own in her cot. But sometimes, she'll cry & fuss, roll all over the cot, then finally fall asleep when we refuses to acknowledge her cries...haa..haa...bad parents!

HI Upie,

My bb will drink her milk to sleep. This means that when it is her bedtime, she will make noise and we will let her drink and then she will fall asleep. Sometimes, even though it is not her time for milk, we still give her, usually half an hour earlier than actual feeding time. Sometimes, even though it is her feeding time but she is still playing, we let her be until she becomes cranky and its time for milk/sleep. We have been doing that for 6 mths :)

Upie,

i feed my girl to sleep every nite. however, she gets up every hr or two then gotta feed her until she sleeps. she is sleeping with me on my bed.. tried to put her on her playpen to sleep but she refused cus she wants to touch and feel me when she is sleeping. she always puts her legs on my shoulders when she sleeps. so sam seng

YB,

yeah she called me... initially the first few days she started to call me Mmmmm then yesterday she said the resounding mama. HB also heard it, he so jealous then tried to psycho her to say papa haha

haha, ylc, now i'm soooo envious. Must train my baby to say mama liao. Cute baby, calls you mama and put her two legs on your shoulder to sleep.
