hi zoe: been reading your posts but havent got a chance to "talk" to you. In some way, I like London but only on holiday. Like wat you say, the cost of living is pretty expensive and the weather is unpredictable at times. (ohhh, winter can be real cold). Bringing up a baby in a western culture can be a real eye opener though. I stay in the east, hopefully, have a chance to meet up with you soon.

I am feeling real exhausted these days cos Ryan has been waking up abt 2 to 3 times for feed. This has certainly tire me out especially when my health is not very good. Sigh. I really hope he can sleep thru soon though.....

mtdt, i dunno since when but heard until cny... oso got elle and urs bargain sale some are 30% discount and upto 50% off... got maternity wear sale some more... i bought a few pcs for my 2nd pregnancy next time... hehe..

eeeyore,
so fast planned for your 2nd pregnancy liao... i don't think i want to go through the journey again... not enjoyable but got alot of benefit especially when u travel in public transport. Haha

blessings, it's not a proper shop... i think they rent the shop temproray to clear those cheap stuffs... but for these sale they'll normally cut off some of the labels...

YB,
I can understand what u mean by being stuck at home whole day...

Zoe,
If u still remember, Singapore's climate is either hot, humid or wet, in total contrast to London. I feel stuck at home as well whenever it rains, if not d sun would usually be at its hottest between 10am to 5 pm, which is almost d whole day! I hate to bring baby out under d hot sun cos u literally melt in this kind of weather, be it bringing d pram or sling. Even if i just want to go to a nearby air-con shopping mall, i still cant escape d weather cos there is no sheltered walkway from my place to d nearest bus stop n MRT station...(hope somebody who works in Pasir Ris/Punggol town council reads this :p)

Hi Hong,

Tks for sharing your views. Yes, i think its good to send kids to playgroup earlier. Although I have heard gd things abt MOntessori school of teaching, but there are also others who feel that montessori type of learning may make it difficult for kids to adapt when they go to primary school. So thats why some still prefer PAP :)) ANyway, i shall read up more .

Hi Zoe,
Unlike in UK, it's terribly hot & humid in sg. If I bring him out jalan jalan around the neighbourhood, me & my gal is bound to sweat like hell..hee...hee...So we normally stay at hm unless hubby wanna bring us out in the evening. But I get to go out wif bb on weekends when hubby drives us to town for shopping..hee..hee...

If I need to buy any necessities, I'll call hubby to help me buy lor.

Hi Zita,
Oh dear. Mayb cos u 'fight' in the Fox bb stores wif other mummies? hee..hee...I know it looks like a war field in some stores. Tat's y watch gets spoilt in the process? :p Hope ur gal recovers soon!!

Hi eeyore,
Wah! Now then u tell us abt the sale arh! It's cheap! K, later going out for tea wif my friend. See if got time to check it out...hee..hee...

YB
ya u were just telling us u stuck at home whole day unless wekkends..then every now n then heard u go tea with frens...wahaha,...u ah...me lagi stuck at home unless go send and fetch isaac,,,...

OC,
heard that animals and kids have natural bond
happy.gif
My FIL also has a dog, my ger also loves to be entertained by the dog
happy.gif
Your dogs are collie? Very beautiful ...

lala,
yes my ger will reach out her hand n touch them without me teaching her
happy.gif
of course i will not leave her alone with d dogs, only under my supervision, n then wash her hands afterwards.

they belong to a breed called Shetland Sheepdog, yes cousins of collies actually, kinda similar. they are quite well behaved n easily trained but high maintenance. thanks for ur compliment abt them

Wow... mummies here have been very busy chatting alot. I miss out alot.. haha.. went shopping with my mum yesterday (took half day). Managed to grab a few items from the fox bb there. Her first cargo pants!

Now trying to think of what to let her wear for CNY already... EXCITED.

Ohh.. mummies.. know where I can get costumes for bb? Gonna have my convocation photoshoot in Feb... wanna find a "graduation gown" if not juz the graduation cap for her can also. Hai. Will be super cute.

Hi Zoe, hehe u used to stay in katong huh? Me too!!! Moved away only last year cos the temple near my place was getting too noisy (ring bellSSS at 6.30am) for my family's liking. Now we're in the ulu-land of pasir ris. I miss the katong area ALOT. So near to wonderful parkway, tomyam steamboat @ roxysquare, chickenrice @ katong shopping ctr basement, my hubby luvs d laksa juz outside my house. Whee. Don't know ANY of the baby amenities (other than parkway's kiddy shop area on the 2nd floor) but now I noticed got alot of new foodie places along the road. Actually UK quite good what.. got more variety of things to buy! hehe! See.. in SG we're resorting to BPs n o'seas sprees.. Sob. BTW, ur boy has really bright eyes. Like those sort that with light the whole room up.

liverpool, hehe.. my hubby is an arsenal fan. u noe where i can get the infant/kid's version of their jerseys? Bet he'd be very happy to see his DD in an arsenal jersey. Maybe I can con him into a few more rounds of diaper changing.

Sandy,
I've got that peek-a-boo bus sorter too. One of the lights was spoilt too. My hubby fiddled around with the light. think it was loose or something, but end up we didn't have to go to the toy'r'us to exchange it.

STUCK-at-home-mummies, hai. I know how u all feel altho I'm a ftwm. haha.. when my maid had family emergency n had to go home .. i was stuck with bb whole day for 10 days in a row. so hard to go out n so inexperienced. that time she very unpredictable still n some days i ended up not getting to shower till d rest of the family returned home (plus i needed sleep whenever she did sleep). wow. that was tough. every day i'd be watching the clock, counting down till the extra helping hands return back to help me.

OC, ur girl looks like she's in a little boat. hehe.

Peach,
don't you find the bus very simple and not fun at all ? I want to change to another one. Later change already also like that.

Sandy,
Haha.. yah. quite simple. but my mum somehow is able to entertain her with it. she put the blocks in and out for kristen, then she open n close the window. not so good tho cos the square blocks can fit into the hexagon hole also. i'm like wtf.. how does this teach shape sorting. haha...

lala,
marina square one. i dun usually shop at fox baby so dunno if the range is very little left or alot. i still managed to get some items for 6 - 12m sizes. some tops, one skirt, one white cargo pants n one pretty pink shorts. =)

Peach,
did u bought during December Tou r us Sale? I bought it from Taka. $49.90 but Toy r us selling at $79.90 now. Wonder why that ex for a SIMPLE toy. At first i also thought can teach BB shape sorter but open out to realise it is too simple liao.

peach,
haha...ya hor dun have d boat pedal only. dat blow-up bathtub (of course no water inside) is an alternative if she gets bored of d walker. n if she gets bored of this one as well, until then i will have to think of something else...haha

once they learn to crawl, i will have another headache...will take one step at a time

MTDT
thanks..it's actually her first pic with d 2 dogs together! thinking of goin for family photo shoot with d dogs but scared wait very chaotic

Sandy,

Yup. Actually my mum bought it for kristen as one of her x'mas presents. hehe. it's okay la, can teach cause-n-effect (drop the blocks in then the music will play), next time when they grow up can walk n push it around, got the window can open n close. although i've no idea what the apple is sticking out over there for.

Eeyore, OC, Blessings, Peach, Hong,
Thanks for all your tips on Baby Katong. Yes, I've lived there almost my whole life but never paid any attention to baby stuff so things like PD, shops, classes, any tips and recommendations would be most appreciated.

Sandy,
Yes, sorry but I leave in a few days and I'm not even carrying all Dylan's toys in luggage (shipping some) so I can't help you.

Peach,
Yes, people have commented on Dylan's eyes twinkling. Like in cartoons where they draw a star in the eyes? Ha. One of my friends said when he looks up it's as if there's a 'ding' sound in the background. ;-p UK has nice clothing but very expensive so I don't shop as much. Yes, lots of baby stuff and nice baby clothes. Dylan has lots of clothes (from gifts and I stocked up a bit) for the next 6 months but after he has nothing to wear. Ha.

Wow, seems like everyone's always going to sales. So tempting. Hope I don't give in too often. ;-p

liverpool,
Yes, I get stuff from ebay to save on P&P as well. These official football merchandise is expensive. I've seen plenty of baby stuff for England team (prob due to world cup) in Mothercare and other high street stores but not for the English clubs.

Hi Blessings,
Good to know there's another mummy in the East to meet up with. I'm not sure if you're into swimming and would like to bring your bb swimming but that's one thing Dylan will definitely be doing so activities like that would be fun to do together with another bb. We brought him a couple of times and he loved it. Bringing him up here is definitely an eye-opener like you said. I don't have any SP experience to compare with but I have heard a few things from my friends. And when my mum was here for a few weeks, her eyes literally opened wide. The day Dylan arrived home, she (typical of Chinese parent) asked 'How much did the bill come to?' ;-p I told her it was free and you should have seen the disbelief followed by glee in her eyes. Hee.

OC, YB,
Yes, I can't handle SP's heat and humidity either. It's definitely much better to wait for the AC car and ahmad. ;-p When we were in SP for several weeks, I used to bring Dylan for a walk in the evenings before dinner and halfway through the walk we'd take a cool-off break in NTUC before heading home. Dylan loved supermarkets at that age. I dressed D in only a singlet. Didn't care that he didn't look nice. I'm a fast walker so the breeze created was nice for him.

Zoe,
Yaaa.. ur fren has a good description of ur son's eyes! haha.. 6 months time nothing to wear? dun worry, there'll always be another sale n it's a great -reason- to shop. hehe. sometimes i wonder what i'm going to do with all my gal's "old" clothes. her nb clothes are just sitting around. -_-

Zoe,
Bet you must be excited to come back home. Afterall, Singapore is small, easier to get some1 to help look after bb when need to, everywhere is more accessible. I used to stay in Perth and find that travelling is def a problem if one doesn't drive.

My girl also loves to go supermarket, plenty to see and touch
happy.gif
On weekend morning, I will try to bring my girl to nearby park for a stroll, quite "siong", both of us are soaked in perspiration .... haiz

peach,
I made a pact with my good friend who has a baby boy, should I have a boy and she has a girl next time, we will exchange clothes ... hahaha

Peach,
I wanted to donate his bb clothes to the many charity shops but mum said 'keep keep' so I kept some and sold his winter stuff he hardly wore or didn't wear at all on Ebay. Don't get much (only worth the trouble, don't earn anything) but at least they go to someone who really wants them and will use them. I think I might give what my mum said to keep to relatives if they want them.

lala,
Not sure if I'm excited, but I am glad to go back. I think cos I've been waiting for so long the excitement has worn off. Ha. I lived in Perth for a fe years too. When were you there? I like Perth but got bored of it at the end of my stay. Sheesh. I sound so 'spoilt'. Tiring of this and that city. Just for the records I don't think I am. Just how it sounds. Heh.

Zoe,
Actually I can't really remember liao, should be from 98 or 99 (gotta check my resume.. hee). Stayed for 2 years. I was staying in Currie Hall back then. Was in the asian popular faculty - Commerce... You met your HB there ??

Zoe,
Oh, just beside currie hall
happy.gif
Actually Perth is really a simple and peaceful place ... however, like you, cannot stay there for long, can get real bored. Likewise or worse for Edinburgh (visited my HB when he studied there).I prefer Singapore afterall ...

Time to knock off ... going home to see my ger ger liao ... yeah

Oc: u got such beautiful dogs, may i know where u bought the boat? does ur gal stay there long? i also thinking to get one... =)

hi kiki,

dats actually not a boat lah, it's a inflated baby bathtub, material like those swimming float but i haven tried bathing her in it though. it's given by somebody so i dun really know where to get. but i've seen a yellow duck one at kiddy palace n Tom & Stephanie.

she stays in there quite long with her toys inside,it's only a temporary measure until she learns to crawl out
