Sandy - one quick remedy - if you got guli at home, put it into a small tub, add hot water and roll your feet on the guli...shoik leh!

JP, my CTG cost ard 40 bucks.... the session last for 20mins... and durin the session, can heard bb's heartbeat sound...

Ger, oh.. so tats CTG ah.. cos i heard before at KKH.. got a room can hear bb's heartbeat sound.. then continously for more than 10 mins.. then everytime i was tink how cm they need to hear the heartbeat for so long.. tink now i understand y liao.. heehee.. me sounds like mountain tortise..

Oh Mummies not all of u need to do Strep B test right? Uless your Urine test got problem.

yes, CTG is used to measure contraction and bb's heartbeat... mine is 40 bucks for a session of 20mins....

My gynae is like leaving it to me. He say my baby weight stabilised(not increasing much), so can let him come out. But on the other hand, water level is good, because usually when baby weight drop, water level also drop. Plus very engaged and dilated 2cm.
I don't know if baby weight will grow more if stay inside for longer time.
What are the dangers of inducing birth??

same same, my gynae also let me listen to bb's heartbeat on every visit... sound abit like horsing racing hor... keke.... everytime i listen to bb's heartbeat, i felt so happy... reckon you too...

oh ya, i also did swap test 2 visits ago.... just to make sure no bacteria or infections at V area...
 
DC - Don't think there's much danger. But hor, ask your obgyn for his expert opinion. As for me, my obgyn already mentioned if bb don't come out by next appt (Tue) he will do something about it lor.

PM, you MIA liao huh? or "jump" back to your comfy bed liao? btw, is the bumper mat worth buying? what is it for actually? the one you bought quite ex leh.. $120... got pic to show us?
 
JP, for me i'm under subsidised class, so u/s scannings are done in other rooms. but in doc's room during consultation, doc will check personally for bb heartbeat.. but so far doc nv say do CTG.. c what doc will say i go for appt in the afternoon.. hopefully is not asking me to induce cos my EDD is on 15 jul .. next sat..

actually i quite confused like how contractions feel like... me like very blur.. cos sometime i hv cramps.. like those menses cramps.. n only once i feel stomach tightening.. so dunno whether is BH contractions or what..

Swap test ok... everything is fine... no fungus no bacteria no infection....

heard if got infection/fungus/bacteria, then gynae gotta prescribe antibotics for us to take then monitor again... cos if got infections or bacteria, cannot opt for natural birth... not good for bb... is that your understanding too?

me always got tummy tightening feeling...tot bb too big liao..no space to stretch and my skin also no way can expand further liao..hahahhaa
 
dsii - no u/s scan meh? my obgn always listen to HB. Talking about tight clothes...its the same for me..haiz!!!

TFF - oic! Don't worry too much..when the real contractions come, you bui tahan..pain like hell want. You will definately know.

PM - yup, did my Vswap test too.
 
my understanding of strep b is to take antibiotic drip during delivery to prevent infection. so still can natural birth, as in not necessary to do ceasarian because of strep b. but if ceasarian, risk of infection should be none because baby will then not pass through birth canal.

mine have, bumper mat is in the package when i order the baby cot.... bought the cot in a bulk purchase but have not delivered to my house yet... wait until i gave birth liao, then hubby will arrange for them to deliver over.... my friend advised me not to setup bb's cot now. must wait until i go delivered le, then can setup...
 
Geberra, sorry... Hahaha...half half lah. My bumpermat is those u lay them on the floor for BB to learn to crawl ones... its quite big i think, lots of BP going ard, so i think it shld be quite good. U see this website.http://www.smallsmallworld.com/bumper_playmat.htm but i dont think its good for tummy time coz its not so thick as compared to bed... sowhen BB 3 mths good to put them on bed... when they learning to crawl or sit bumper mat is good... got some nano technology to prevent bacteria... I tot of getting those ABC ones.. but heard that the material is not suitable for babies..
 
Geb - not really leh. Heard that if you are infected, they will just pump some medicine into you before you deliver. Everything will be OK. That's why we must remember to bring all the reports (those that your obgyn tell you to bring for check-in) so that everything is in order.
 
JP, my friend also told me so.. heehee. so i just wait patiently for my bb to pop..

dsii, my tummy now got a lot stretchmarks.. very sad.. tink after birth will b very very ugly.. my hubby c liao always shake his head..haaha
 
Oh, my gynea never ask me take strep B test nor CTG.. oops I better don't say too soon cos tomorrow my turn for appointment again.
I felt like going PS when ever the BB push downward... do u all felt the same ?

Geb - same also, it comes with the cot. We set-up the cot liao but cover with plastic sheet...dusty mah.

dsii - Maybe he never on the sound....today can ask lah.

dsii, me also have the tightening feeling but only when i didnt apply stretchmark cream... did you apply or not?

actually hor, i find the SM cream useless... cos my stretchmarks are coming out.... gynae saw and ask if i apply SM cream or not... then she asked if my SM cream good then she answered herself said seems not so good... hahaha...

i bought the Mustela brand.. $55/tube, quite ex so i thot it'll works but turn out useless...

waste my money... i've used 4 tubes od SM cream till date...

aiya..no need lah...as long as i can see the heartbeat beating can liao..hehehee....dun request too much ah..if not he more thigns to say...so u all know who ur bb's PD will be? my doc never mentioned leh..cos whenever want to ask..he will tok abt the wt of bb./...then i sianz liao..never ask.hahaha

Sandy - obgyn will wait till at least week 36-37 for the Vswap test.

no lah...never use..lazy to apply liao...1st preggie still got apply..then oso got stretchmarks..so this time..forget it..
 
Gebbera, I same as u.. almost gave up SM creams.. until i use clarins oil.. seems to be better than creams.. at least mine is not that obvious now... after like half a bottle of application... so (touchwood) i think it works for me..
 
Just join this post. Find that the conversation here very relevant to me and address my current anxiety as well.. My due date around 25th Jul but gynae say could be earlier.. somehow I wish it's this weekend.. very tired already.

I was diagnosed strep B positive. According to Gynae and what I read from internet, there is still possibility of infection even by c-section. My gynae give me antibotic pills to take and will give me antibiotic drip during labour (hopefully, the bacterial did not develop immunity against the drip cos' I took the pills..). This is my main concern now..

Actually from the look of my tummy, i really dun look like 37 weeks approaching 38. Tummy not very big and gynae say baby small but still consider normal.. Dun know whether this is good or not.
 


dsii - me dunno who our pedi will be. However, my cousins told me to go to polyclinic (cheaper mah). My obgyn also never say anything about pedi either
