Yesterday i had a hard time trying to pry open that coconut! Had to use pliers n knife to cut open it! Hahaha... ^-^

Heard from some mummies that carrefour got those with holes liao, so i am going there maybe sometimes this week to buy. u can buy those from kiddy palace or even those shops under HDB for BB stuff. AMK sells 3 for $10. KP i think ard $3.90 cheapest) per pc.

My gynae did the CTG on 36 weeks cos the scan showed bb's umbical cord hanging on his shoulders. He very noti still can fiddle with the cord during the scan. Gynae worried that the cord will go round his neck. Last week's scan showed that the cord has moved to safe position liao. Phew, what a relief!

lollypop, the plastic pants is to wear for baby on top of the nappy cause when u use cloth nappy, baby pee, nappy will be wet mah.. so need this plastic pants to act like a cover so that when u carry baby, urine won't get to ur shirt.
As for the plastic Snappi nappy fastener, think Kiddy palace or Auction got sell.. I don't use that nor safety pins cause I think plastic covers is enough... As I mentioned earlier, I really on tight budget hence very calculative now.. heheh

Cause hor, today when I go for check up should be 36 weeks liao but they never schedule for CTG for me leh.. last time dunno 36 or 38 weeks will do CTG liao..
Hi July moms, been lurking and learning from your posts for a while.
I have a dumb question to ask you about: after delivering the baby, how are we supposed to go back home? The options I can think of are:
1. Get a car seat. But, is it good for new born?
2. Mom hold the baby and sit in the backseat. Is it allowed legally here in S'pore? I know in US you cannot do that.
3. Use some kind of baby carrier, e.g. a baby basket. Do we have to?
What if later we need to bring the baby outside? On the car can we just hold the baby? Appreciate it if you can share what you will do or how you handled it.

Haven't read the posting, some update about my check up today.
Today gynae check my cervix and found out already 2cm dilated. So he told me baby might pop these few days. Aiyo! Me now so gan cheong, wondering wat i haven't prepare.
My gynae ask me want to induce or not cos i complaint my pelvic feel pain. I told him i still prefer baby choose when he want come to this world....

lollypop, Yah very super siong expecially after what happened recently at home... (I actually have a post in marketplace about this and also on my blog http://stephie1735.blogspot.com).
Now being preg and going to bomb, I'm still carrying my 15 month old everynight cause she simply sticks to me and my forever manja 4 yr old.. Lol... Very tiring but also fulfiling lah.. cause they are really the ones keeping me going.
In Singapore, a lot of Malay family have only sole breadwinner with 4-5 kids, I really kudos to them cause I don't know how they survive.
Now being preg and going to bomb, I'm still carrying my 15 month old everynight cause she simply sticks to me and my forever manja 4 yr old.. Lol... Very tiring but also fulfiling lah.. cause they are really the ones keeping me going.

do u feel any discomfort when your cervix is dilated? I'm still not dilated yet even though bb is engaged already and having some show discharge too. And didnt get regular contractions too.

lollypop, there's one shop at AMK centre that ells BB stuff only. U know where's red tomato? The shop is just beside the coffeeshop that is opp of red tomato. I think its near the polyclinic if i didnt remember wrongly.
as for swaddle blankets u need to have lah coz they come with hood to protect yr BB's head. If not u use normal towel which i feel its abit rough for BB skin loh. I saw one w winnie the pooh print, very cute! got those little legs come out somemore, normal ones dont have those "legs" hehehe

missmoon, agree tat read up wd ease off some nervousness.. bt it oso gv me "new thots".. when did the hosp pre-admission chosen delivery wif epi. Altho gynae said can wait til then decide. Am thking, dunno isit diff for the doc to locate the area where he wd insert catherer for the epi?

after discharge, you can carry baby at the back seat, think they won't penalise you one lah.. but do rem ur seat belt... Infant car seat is neccessary if u own a car and travel often but after discharge, u will be on confinement and won't really travel mah.. after 1 month if u travel, baby needs to be in infant car seat loh..

HI lollypop,
My sister in law said no need to specifically get swaddle blankets. If you have cloth nappies, can use it also to swaddle babies. It's thin and breathable.

The postings are hot hot hot...the weather too!!!! Recently, my electricity bill shot up double!!! I've been sleeping at home so often coz can't sleep at night. The joints at the hip and legs are so painful now... I hope when I see the doc this thurs,i can pop soon.... My doc even told me if you don't want bb to come up so sooner then don't walk so much. Ha ha so i walk even more.

My package is $1800.i thot my doc is expensive liow. Each visit still pay $30 consultation apart from med. Apart from the 20wk major scan, the rest is gyane packages.Does not include hospital bill. Moreover, my doc's scan is 3D and 4D.
Abt the milkk bags, to heat up the milk,whether frozen or cold, i usu dip the whole bag into a very warm cup of water,becoz it's plastic, milk warms up faster. if you transfer into bottle, it takes more than 15min.

lollypop, I still feel best way to keep baby secure is swaddle with recieving blankets covering his/her head cause they won't ganna wind blow... and they say swaddling must be tight also... as if they still in womb...
Paranoidmummy, I'm actually working full time but recently ganna 30% pay cut and hub op and etc so now a bit cham.. so I very careful with expenditures...

I dun dare to carry nb bb in my arms in the car. I have already bought the maxi cosi car seat cos need to use for frequent travelling later. So pay extra to get a good car seat, bo bian. I also kiasu, bought extra head support just in case bb is too tiny to fit into the car seat. Hee...

Lollypop, can use cloth nappies... but try to let baby wear a cap.. dun catch cold... baby head also a bit sensitive..

js to check, do u feel pain in fingers? I feel terrible pain that makes me wake-up in the middle of the night... the pain can make me cry... ever since 1-2 weeks ago... the pain is always there won't go off... check w gynae... he mention water retention... so terrible...

I just felt these few days my pelvic got pressure and sharp pain. Then got lot of discharge also. Dont know izzit because of the cervix dilated. Gynae said if i get regular contractions can get prepare to go hospital liao!

I do freelance boarding biz to earn more money mah... have been doing for a very long time before I was expecting #3 liao... I have passion for dogs also... But just didn't expect the owners to be like that but haiz.. sometimes u will meet different types of ppl one lah..

jazzyjas, i was pre-admitted based on normal delivery wif epi. i wonder abt the area where they inject epi...it's on spinal cord, right? that's where my fear is. wat if i move suddenly...then cham already. i'll be opting for epidural so hb can witness

Me also having lots of discharge.. I thought what happened... cause its very thick, thicker than mucus like that.. thought mucus plug man... but since no pain, no contractions nothing, I just ignore it.

My EDD is 12 July. But since my daughter pop 10 days than EDD. So guess my 2nd also will pop early.
Anyway, i prefer he pop beginning July. Dont know he can wait or not?

I forgot ask gynae for the admission letter again......but i did ask my sister, she said she also did not get admission letter from gynae when she delivered last year. So guess now no need admission letter. Everythings can be done at lever 2 admission counter liao!

Oh... If any mummies whom have scoliosis (curved spine) and is thinking to opt for epidural, pls let aneastetist know about the scoliosis condition.
Cause for my first kid, I did not tell the aneastetist about my scoliosis, when she did epi for me, it didn't work... only 2nd child I told her about my previous experience, then it worked...

My culture test cost me $60. Medication (not necessary each visit) is about $6. Y is ur medication so ex? I only took Iron & Calcium pills. My package is $1500 for natural delivery & routine checkups from wk 20 onwards.
I'm also taking 2-beded cos I dun think my hubby would wanna sleep in hospital too..I think it's better for my hubby to get a good rest so that he can take care of bb & me when I discharge from hospital.

eeyore, my fingers too.. they get numb in the middle of the night and i will wake up to "exercise" them but when i try to crunch my fingers they get painful.. for a moment i tot i have gout. Haahaha too paranoid liao.
