Sorry, dun mean to scare you. But you got your MIL helping right? But be mentally prepared the first two weeks will be tough coz everyone is adjusting. Got to make time for E coz he will feel the impact the most, so #2 won't get as much attention as our #1 used to get. Wish I can clone myself sometimes....

Dun think at their age they know they are lying. K does it sometimes too....he just been cheeky. K is a vegetarian - must have veg at every meal. can dun eat meat. Loves fruits too. Sometimes we wonder if he is our son...coz hb and I more to the meat eater side.

Haha..so far nobody says Kay is softspoken & demure leh. Hmm..mayb long long time ago when she was still very young & dunno how to defend herself. Now after all the 'training' from Ian, E, playgroup kids, her cousins etc etc, she's becoming very defensive liao. Now, she'll even provoke my niece & pick up fights over toys/dvds.

Yes, Kay used to scream & cry alot when she was a newbornI Did I mention she ever screamed & cried hysterically until the whole of Plaza Sing can hear her & her echos. I just pretended nothing was wrong & continued shopping. Haha. But bypassers kept asking me wat's wrong & I told them I dunno. But thinking back, now I know why..cos Kay was having colic then & I didn't realised until later.

stress leh... MIL and SIL will help for 1.5mths then I'll be solo lor.

As the room they are sleeping in is quite small, so I can't have any of my kid to sleep with them. So all 4 of us (me, hubby, E and meimei) will be sleeping in the same room. So I already anticipated alot of chaos on the first few days or maybe week. Still no matter how I anticipate the chaos.. sure will feel stress one.. somemore is MIL helping, not my own mom... sure got diff in handling stuff. haizzz...
 
MY, We also slept together (the 4 of us) in the same room when Char arrived..chaotic man..cos Cel will be woke up by Char's crying for milk..got to pacify both to sleep.. and bef u hit the pillow, another round of BFing again..and the whole cycle repeat till day break..but dun worry lah, the elder one will get use to the "music" & back to the routine sleep after 1-2 weeks

yah lor.. that's what i thought.. let the elder one get use to the "music" hahaa.. I just wish my mil will not walk into the room and try to "manage" and make me irritated.

I agree with KLCC. The older one will adjust soon. It may be hard at 1st month but it will get better. The older one will get use to the bb crying and u will be amazed he will continue sleeping. hahaha..

Stime the elder one may kpo, wake up and check on the bb, after that went back to sleep again.

Ya, I agree #1 will adjust to the music of #2. LIke my nephew & niece..they can slp thru any commotion. Be it crying, screaming, jumping on the same bed, they still sleep thru.

maybe can ask K smell Emma's hand n feet.. tell them they are sooo cute!! till now.. josh sumtimes take jedd's smelly feet to smell (when jedd is sleeping. if he awake, he will give josh a big kick!)
4 of use also sleep together!! was sooo squeeesy!! josh cannot hear jedd's screams n yells..
sooo envious... the little new borns are all popping out..
so many pros to jus stop at 2kids.. but i like the nursing n growing up stages in 0-24mths.. after that i want to give them away!

I wanted to carry the NB. I missed this stage so much now especially seeing mummy popping. I asked my hubby again leh. He said if i really want then wait till Julian is 5. I will be 35 then!

Can understand....I get irritated with my own mum...let alone my MIL. my mum keep nagging me about all the confinement practices that I don't follow...I already stress enough liao and her nagging is not helping...

Was telling hb during labour that if the pain gets real bad (coz my epi was not distributed properly so I felt some pain), I am stopping! Then he grin and said, he'll ask me again in 1 yrs time...*faintz*

Ask your hubby for help. I remember last time when my Mum keep nagging, I tell my Mum this, "Mum, if you keep nagging Amanda,if she got post-natal sydrome, carry the kids and jump down from the window. You will have no DIL and grandson. So don't talk about how she will suffer in future if she don't listen etc,etc. So your choice." After that she just nag and mumble to herself. Over time, she just keep quiet.

the old pple are just over-concerned over us. My mum did the samething to me when my MIL did the confinement for me. I said I cannot chose cos she is not the one doing it for me. When my mum did it for me when I have Julian. She didnt follow thru-out anymore. haha...

I said it is too tired for her to follow everything and some practise have no logic. From no bathing till I bath everyday. My MIL ever told me to go ahead and bath. She said "Go and bath, I wldnt tell your mum." hahaha..

OK, i didnt know if my MIL still want to take care for us. By then she will be very carefree althot still look after my kids but will not be as busy as looking after a baby. When I went thru the whole cycle again, my hubby, my IL will have to go thru with me.

There may be possiblities that my BIL has married and having a child. She may want to help him instead. Unless my hubby allow me to be a homemaker lah.

i dun mind #3.. But even when planning for holiday,.. everything is a family of 4.. 2 adults 2 child.. then my 3rd kid bo hua.. even my free tix also for 2 kids.. i will see wat package the gah men offer next yr hahah...
 
Haha..talking abt confinement really bring back old times..I still remember my mil forbid me to shower even though I got a confinement nanny. Wat the heck, I still shower lor..twice a day,even at night. I even shower on the 2nd day of my hosp day.

Then soon after mil got 'feng mo' & chinese physician told her have to be 'mini confinement'. Cannot wash showers, cannot touch water etc. Then mil keep complaining..say sg weather so hot, how can not shower..So I bluntantly told her, now then u know how hard I was during my confinement lor...then MIL just diam diam.

Last wkend, we were talking abt how hard it is to raise a kid in sg, then I said I abit regret having kid in the 1st plc lor. Then mil so shocked & started nagging...how can dun wanna have kid..married must have kids...must have more then 1 so won't be so lonely etc etc. Sigh.

My maid kena food poisoning cos my MIL told her to cook more for dinner and then heat up using the rice cooker for lunch the next day. She blur blur kept the food overnight in the rice cooker (rather than fridge)... No lah, I speak English to her. Translate on behalf of my MIL when they cannot understand each other.

The last time the confinement nanny even ask me to wear cardigan in the hse when we didnt even switch on the aircon! OMG.... can die! I just ignore and do what pleases myself! Y suffer... i shld be enjoying my confinement... kekeke

Haha..ya, I'm quite blunt to my mil de. I think she's used to it liao..cos both her daughters also very straight forward kind. Only my hb is those 'guai guai' type. Typical 'salesman talk'.

my confinement was ok.. bathe and wash hair everyday, sleep in aircon, eat everything, sleep n breast feed.. wahhhh.. only thing always feel sooo HOT!! maybe when i m 60, i will suffer headaches n backaches.. hahah

Class is quite fun, but becos it's 1 hr class, the teacher like have so many things to cover so its a bit rush

Just did up a reading corner for Kay..hopefully can encourage her to read more often. As previously, all the books & puzzles are stored in drawers & boxes..Kay hardly touches them unless I took them out.
