Ashley is like Kaylyn...if ask her to hold milk bottle she will bite the teat and spill the milk everywhere and i will end up very angry with her...so gave up asking her to take the milk bottle...
Strange thing is when come to drinking water, she will insist to hold the pigeon cup herself...dunno y...

PM...ya i look back and was also thinking wow so fast 1 yr has pass can still remb last yr ard this time still struggling to handle a newborn.
 
morning mummies!
kristen is now down with cough n cold n her fever went back up to 38+. strange man. it went down to normal like 37.. 36+.. then last evening went back up to 38+. first time i see fever disappear then come back again after 2 days. weird.

dsii - i went to mt's house gathering! ehz. i remember reading b4 about some tiramisu recipe that u got from jp. so did u make the tiramisu already or r u making it for us on d 19th? hehehe.

fruitee, mt & chm - nice to meet u all even tho i came super late... haa.. good stress reliever!

yb - so good kay can talk so much! so big girl.

milk bottles - my girl usually holds her milk bottle when hubby feeding her milk. when i feed her n try to put her hands there to hold herself she dunwan, will pull her hands away. odd. dunno what my hubby do to her. then i feed her water from the milk bottle cover (like a mini cup) she dun wan to hold. but when it's empty n sitting around. she will pick it up n pretend to drink from it. GRR!!!
 
oh btw, did u all read the today's paper?

thanks to US... d number of live births in 2006 is the most since 1990 (not counting d dragon year). got 38,317 babies born in 2006! ok.. dunno if 38,317 is really alot anot.. but how ah. so got more competition during p1 exercise issit?? haha..

Dunno if it's just me.. but I find the SAHM are more emotional when bb turns one. Mebbe it's becos of the deep bonding that you have with bbs from NB till now? For me.. i dun seem to feel anything special leh.. but maybe it's just me :)) Good job all SAHMs.

u're not alone. me too, didn't felt anything special leh...and i thot i was abnormal. haha.

there are times when i would feel guilty for not spending enough time with him, especially the hours when i m at work and my mum calls to tell me his funny antics, his first everything...

peach, really? 2006 was a really productive year then. neh mind, more schools will be sprouting up around this island, hopefully. hah

I also leh...cannot carry my boy for long, my back ache leh. Hope that he can walk by himself, then I no need to carry him. I think your dad always carry him, then once he sees your dad, he is waiting to be carried. My boy also name Ryan.

Ya...I think so. Actually the babies will start to walk, but don't know when leh. That's why I buy him a storybook (title: I know I can be brave) and read to him everyday, hopefully, he can be brave one day and walk by himself...hahaha

My boy also the same leh, when he holds the bottle, he will play with it till the milk drips everywhere. So angry, and when I beat his hand, he can laugh and smile somemore, makes me more angry.

I think I need help liao. My mum has been telling me that Kayden has been waking up middle of the nite just to watch "THE WHEEL ON THE BUS" DVD not only that, watching it is one thing.. he wants biscuits to go with his DVD watching. PENGZZZ... so last nite, I stayed over at my mum's plc. Kayden woke up at midnite crying, pointing to the living room - to the DVD player! (faint once), on the DVD! Then point to the Kitchen, WAN HIS BISCUITS! I tried not to give him but he cried till like got abuse like that.. no choice give it to him, giving me the happiest smile and sat on his rocker chair munching his biscuits away... gosh, watched until 2am then fell asleep..

Cham ah, how ah?? He seems to be enjoying it (scare he become a TV addict) but of cos hiong on the care taker. My mum has been company him like that for a few nights already.... HELPPPPPPPP NEEDED!!!!!!!!!!!

Hmmm...i think probably a period that Kayden is going through. Guess he really likes the characters in the dvd. Perhaps try to reduce slowly the number of times he is allowed to watch the TV or change to another dvd or read to him instead? Ryan likes to watch advertisements...when the ads are on air, he will become very still, sit down and glue to the ads. I am trying not to let him see too much of it though...but but...my TV is always on from day to night...
 
Peach - read yr blog before u posted, I still think K is alright le... E had the stomach infection when he was 4mths old too, was scolded left right upside down by the doctor coz then he was still on BM, and then he says it must be hygiene issues. Maybe her virus is still in the body. u still cont to give K her medication until her fever go down for abt 1 day. But not the ibufen coz that one is for super high fever.

Dsii - Hahaha, i tell u, the day before u cry first.. then cut cutting not so emotional already. Or u go get yrself really busy.. then will forget... U charm! no peach stress u for tiramisu!

Frutiee - alamak! Kayden so cute!! but headache for yr mum. Maybe when he cries at night and want to watch, u ask yr mum to sing the song for him and pretend... For me, if he cries i'll just let him lo, one or two nigths after that he knows he cannot and wont ask for it liao.

yr case sounded like my #1 when she was abt 18mth. We got a DVD in our room and most of the time, we played her fav "richard scarry" series ..and for a period of time, she woke up everynite & ask to watch the show in the midst of the nite(2pm) & will only zzz after at least 2 rounds of show..hb & I were like panda for that period..so we decided to keep the DVD player & bluffed her that we sold the player to karun guni liao and refuse to give in to her for a few nites..and luckily we managed to stop that habit of hers..phew..
 
Uh?? CUTE??? Gosh, he is a monster loh.. and can be so accurate, Midnite chun chun wake up for midnite movie.. wah faint!

but like wat PM says, dun think can give in everytime. worst. hv to bear with his cries for a few nites, dun let him watch. he needs to learn that it's not the time to watch tv at midnite. :p

Or you can reduce his nap time during the day so that at night he's super tired and probably wont wake up for TV anymore? Maybe he's behaving like a little adult.. cannot get to sleep so watch TV lor...

Nope, it's not painful at all. When kay managed to stand for like 2 secs, I'll clap my hands & shout hurray! Then Kay will b like very proud & clap also. Haaa...haa...

I'm renting a push walker. Hopefully, Kay can walk next time.

Same wif Kay too. She prefers to hold her mag mag cup when drinking plain water. But when it's milk, she'll refuses to hold.

PM - oh, so i supposed to give her d medicine even after her fever go away? aiya. hubby make me scared to give her too much medicine cos he read somewhere prolonged usage of paracetamol/ibuprofen will damage the liver or kidneys or something like that. -_-

may - tried barley water. but i didn't add sugar so think she hated it. haa.. do u all add sugar into ur barley water to give her anot ah?

Do you switch on aircon for your baby to reduce her body heat? normal 2-3 days, it will gradually subsides. doc never say anything?
 
mamaanne - last nite cos i felt her body warm so i switched aircon on.. but then she kept coughing so i turned it off. sigh. dilemma. if her fever still there tomoro go bring doctor again. =/ ... this doctor confirm think i'm some sort of a worrywart mum. bring go doctor so many times =(

better dun turn on air-con...cos cold air will make it more uncomfortable. Keep the room airy instead.

Any mummies here bring your bbs for chickepox vaccine already?

when k was down a few weeks back with viral fever, my PD told us to continue paracetamol for another day after fever subsides and to keep him indoors. for cough, PD advised to sleep without aircon and prop his pillow a little. found that purifier with eucalyptus oil helps as well. HTH!

For chicken Pox jab, PD advice that the results is better if jab after 14mths..so i will go after ashley finish her 2nd Prevenar jab then go for chicken pox jab.

Oh I see. I know can go after 12 months though PD did indicate at 14 mos but I thought why cannot early...hahahaha...so that is the reason. Prevenar is pneumococaal jab?

regarding cough I got this fr other thread, wonder if you all hv tried bef, according to some mummies it works.

Try this remedy

It works 100% of the time although the scientists
at the Canada Research council (who discovered it) aren't sure why.

To stop nighttime coughing in a child (or adult as we found out personally), put Vicks Vaporub generously on the bottom of the feet at bedtime, then cover with socks. Even persistent, heavy, deep coughing will stop in about 5 minutes and stay stopped for many, many hours of relief.

Works 100% of the time and is more effective in children than even very strong prescription cough medicines. In addition it is extremely soothing and comforting and they will sleep soundly.

It was a surprising finding and found to be more effective than prescribed medicines for children at bedtime, in addition to have a soothing and calming effect on sick children who then went on to sleep soundly.

An adult friend tried it on herself when she had a very deep constant and persistent cough a few weeks ago and it worked 100%!

She said that it felt like a warm blanket had enveloped her, coughing stopped in a few minutes.

Hey, U are not alone. Kayden was having such high fever for 5 days straight, up and down. I was so worried that I kept bringing him to see PD trying to know what was wrong! Ermm, I think strictly no aircon bah as what my PD said since there's flu and cough, it's going to make them feel even more xin gu.. no??? I open windows wide wide to have some fresh air though. I wear socks for K and cover him with thin blanket too when he's having the fever... of cos keep sponging him.

hee.. so happy. juz called d maid. kristen's fever has gone down. 37.6! one whole degree from last nite! n her appetite is sort of back. she ate 2 whole bowls of porridge for lunch! n her nose is dry except when she sneezes.. n cough is seldom.

phew~ hopefully this good news continues until tonite.
