Hi mummies,
I just dump everything into the slow cooker, add rice & cook from 8am till 12noon. By then, the fish is non-existing & the pork ribs broken into many pieces. But carrot still 1 pc & porridge is those watery type but still can c the rice shape.

When using slow cooker, must add lotsa water? Do u switch to high or low during cooking?

Hi CL,
Thx for the link.

dedicated meh?? hehehe *blushed*..me lazy mah..somemore tried cooking the porridge in the mornign b4 sending isaac to sch...but hor..after 3-4 hrs..the porridge still tasted bland loh..then ian dun really like it..so tried to make the stock the nite b4..the taste taste better and at least ian ate more..even in wee hrs when i woke up to make milk for in..can smell the pork and silverfish smell liao..hahaha

YB..maybe u added too much water? maybe u can try measuring the water with a measuring cup..then think must try n see wat kind of texture u got for different ml of water n diff qty of rice...me very lazy..just just agak agak..sometimes watery sometimes nua nua...and at times when i lim kopi came home the porridge almost dried up..haha..then must add a bit water...

so is the kindermusik class more better when our bb can walk? *confused*..or can go again when they know how to walk liao...

Dsii,
The kindermusik class has sessions for diff age group. Think I'll try out the trial class since Kaylyn loves to listen to music & songs.

Hmm..mayb I try ur method tonight & c how...think can cook the stock over gas stove also, right? might b faster than slow cooker. Then morn just pour the stock with rice into slow cooker to cook.

yb
u mean u cook the stock overnite over the gas stove??? u sure bo? then u must be careful leh..water can too little...later all dry up ah...me very careless one..thats y i uses slow cooker...

yb, dsii
I add water along the way cos I dunno how to estimate correctly from the start. And if too much water, I stick the pot into the microwave for a few min to dry it up. Very difficult for D to eat when watery. My mum say cannot use pork rib cos there could be small bits of bones in the porridge so I don't use.

I add vege (pureed and frozen beforehand) and fish right at the end cos I don't want the nutrients and vitamins to be lost.

yb
Scallops are shellfish. Some pp don't care, take the risk. It's very nutritious and I'm sure when we were babies our mums fed it to us too.

Mummies
Why do pp collect Nepia seals? Of what use are they?

oops,
YB over stove for overnight DANGEROUS ar...
If u want fast here another method :
Use steaming method over the gas stove but must go check it out some time. same add the rice last..
This about 1 hour or so can eat already....

YB, zoe
last time for isaac i oso used dried scallops for his porridge...cos my parents said so..haha...and of cos some ex colleagues told me so lah..me then used loh...cos 1st time mummy...my boy oso ok..in fact he started his 1st porridge with fish ah..as for ian...cos read too many articles from net...more knowledgable..become abit kia-si...so i bought dried scallops but still in the fridge..dunno to give or not to give...sianz ah...zoe is right...last time our mummies and ah mas..also fed us with all these..we still so big liao..hehe..at times i oso think i over paranoid leh...

hi mummies,

are you giving your bbs snacks? I bought the healthy times teething biscuits ..it's very very hard but I kia-see cos I scared bb can bite off and choke. Dont dare to take the risk. I bought her pigeon biscuits yesterday..they look yummy bt have not let her tried yet :)

Btw..my ger had bad cough that day..lots of phelgm. Do you mummies know wat cough medicine your bb taking? My PD prescribed Rhinethiol (I think wrong spelling) and it's good.

Hi YB,
For my porridge, usually i steam the fish n veggie seperately fm the porridge. I will cook my porridge with the pork rib then when its almost cooked, i will dump in whatever stock i get from steaming the fish and veggie into the porridge. Cos the stock frm steaming the fish actually is quite sweet and add sm natural sweetness to the porridge.
Maybe u want to try that.
For my mum when she cook porridge for my girl, sometimes she will add some si shin n one slice of pang sheng to my girl's porridge and apparently my girl loves it and can finish one big bowl of it.
Recently i added egg yolk into her porridge and she simply love it and keep opening her mouth for more porridge

Lucida,
I also thinking how to bath BB .. either HB going then 1 go pool with BB then he help bath BB while i go bath .
If no HB , like one of the mother say just go under the shower wash away the pool water then go home bath.

Another option is 2 mummy go bath & change BB first. Then 1 mummy look after 2 BB the other go bath.

I am buying thermal swim wear for my BB. I scare later water cold. If u don't want to buy can use swimming diaper.

Hi mummies,
i got a question, these 2 days my girl's milk intake have reduced. She simply dnt like to drink much milk. Couldnt be due to teethng as her teeth are out already. Could it be becos she doesnt like the brand of milk powder that she is drinking now? Do i need to switch to another brand of formula milk? She is currently on enfalac A+.

wah.. nobody answering to my queries.

I used chicken bone or pork bone to make the stock,I do add carot, onion, and a little ikan bilis ,boil for 3 hours used gas stove

I also used slow cooker to cook the porrige, but the rice(brown rice) and the stock I boil first for 5-10 minute used gas stove before putting in slow cooker, this to make the porrige cook faster only take 1.5hrs,save electric

Hi Sandy,

Urmm.. I think I like to opt out from Aqua Duck and join next time when I'm mentally more ready... The tot of bathing the baby scares me .. and moreover, need to buy alot of accessories i.e. sunblock etc.. i'm not too certain will i bring baby to swim frequently or not. Maybe I try to go to the swimming pool near my house first and try it out then decide whether I want to try Aqua Ducks.

Lucida, we have same thinking as you. Wish to bring my baby to swim on my own first before joining a class. Hee.

Hi mezzo,

how long has your bb been drinkibg enfalac? If it has been for a while, it should not be due to the brand of milk. I think could be becos she is teething. My ger also became fussy when she was teething. and after she came down with flu, her appetitie drop also.

Kloe & Lucida ,
is ok. i already start training my BB for swimming at home so that he nt scare of water. I use towel then i tell BB that i will squeeze water from head down by the count of 3. Soon he know he have to hold his breath for a while... Maybe u all can try...
