do put ya BB in sitting position as much as possible but nt for too long. My BB have been sitting on my father's lap to watch TV since 3 mth old.. he can sit unsupport when he is only 5 mth old.
He still cannot crawl but he use bottom shuffle.. haiz how to make him crawl ...

my girl can sit unsupported over the weekend, but only a few seconds before she tumbles left/right.

This sunday's gymboree trial got anymore space? Wanna try.. but must see if my girl recovers from her cough-phelgm first. dun wan2 spread it. =(
 
hong - nope. din go for trial at PR. only went to BB one. my teacher is shihui. trial teacher is anne.

gym - max is 12babies. shd be no prob.
the plc quite big.

crawling - bb was not able to crawl when he started BJG. then for 2 lessons, the teacher taught us how to "teach" him. then concidentaly he start crawling on sunday after the 2nd lesson (Sat). :p

actually i dun usu share with pple on flashcards. becos most pple will end up saying ur bb v poor thing, v stressful etc. i dun wan bb to think that learning is stressful. bbies enjoys learning. they are always learning... learn to flip, learn to crawl, learn to talk, learn to swallow food etc.

it's "testing" that is stressful. tat's why edu system is stressful as there are exams n test. i never hv problem going to school. i think school is fun. but i hate studying for exams. tat's the stress part.

so this is the reason they call it "problem solving" there is no right or wrong. Just if u can solve them. if not the 1st time, then try again. sure can solve one day.

how to teach... v difficult to explain leh.
basically need 2 person. one hold bb hand, one holding bb legs.

then must coordinate - the person holding hand move right hand forward, the person behind will push his left leg forward. then left hand n right leg. then bb will learn that in this way, he can move forward. :p

understand? haha.

Didnt know that BJG OCC is closed...and didnt knwo that they have a branch at Pasir Ris, guss PR is closer to me. Do I hv to call them to tell them that I wanna join their actual class as a trial? I emailed them, but still no reply.

Treadfin - Just started E with it, not very consistent thou, sometimes I am too lazy. I just steam the fish to go with the porridge. BTW, did u all use ginger when steaming it?

Cod fish - My cousin was one of the victims that ate the oil fish accidentally....

Emerson also, when my MIL fed him fish porridge that was meant for adult, he lao sai for 2 days, after that ok liao. Guess its too oily for him.

Any one knows if porrdige/fish cooked in the afternoon can be left til evening time to feed BB with?
 
Any one knows if there's something call "medical council" or similar in SG? got their email? Wanna write a complaint letter to them, one doctor prescribe medicine to Emerson that is not suitable for babies below 2 yo.!

Can you email the book to me too? My email: [email protected]. I've been showing some flashcards to my girl - the ABCs and 1-10 numbers and she is captivated by the process. But I'll been doing it hapzardly, so better read up the proper way.

eating - actually over CNY, bb zav also ate alot of "junk". all thanks to those relatives. He ate Kueh lapis, and even had "ba kua" rub against his lips! aiyoh... so oily! I quickly carry him away... sigh. wat to do.. lucky bb z so far no adverse reactions! :p
 
OMG! Just found it, its kinda of troublesome to do that.

Need to get The Justice of the Peace, Notary Public or other officer empowered by
law to administer oaths, affirmation or affidavits to sign and make appt get statutory declaration !

CHM - GD dun encourage teaching ABC first. becos ABC hv no meaning by itself. so he encourage teaching words.

Maths - digits also hv no meanings. so GD encourage teaching maths by dots. so tat bb will noe 1 is 1dot, 2 is 2dots. so 2 is more than 1. but showing digits - can never put this mgs across.
 
PM - actually sometimes GP does prescribe medi for kids above 2yrs. but they will usu instruct a lesser dosage for younger babies. that's why alot of pple says that GP is not suitable for young babies as their medi is stronger.

wat medi is it?

if u read GD book. 1 - 10, A-Z got no meaning at all. He encourage words especially words that involves the bb and his/her environments. Like sofa, head, eye, nose, chair etc etc...

I think i am too slack. I havent brot my boy for any trial yet. No wonder my hubby says I treat my ger n boy so difference. I was so kam cheong when i havd my ger, I simply bochap with my boy.

actually i prepare quite alot last time but i didnt did much of the flashing and i flash my cash to BJG to do it for me. muhahaha...

Ok tat amt is well spent cos it does have some effect on my ger. I didnt realise till recently. Photomemory is one of the gd programme in the course.

May be is shld go and dig out my card again. I may want to go to BJG at Pasir Ris for trial again. Wanna see if the teacher improve but then i have problem deposit my ger. Where shld we place her when i bring Ju for class on sat? Alot of logic issue to tackle. I hope i am more hardworking, i probably save alot of $$. hahaha..

I hate to be SAHM but yet i dun have time if i am a FTWM.
 
yup... can crawl with chest up long ago. :p

now he is at cruising stage... means can walk ard with support. he will walk along the sofa, then along the table etc.

crawling no longer interest him. :p

at my class, one of them hv a bro.
so the bro n father will stay at the gym while the mum n the bb attend class. :p

wahhh... MTDT,
I wish my BB can crawl... he is so fast to sit unsupported but he still cannot crawl. He only Lunge forward and turn 360 degree using buttock...
He also on crawling position (chest up) so many times but always end up lying on tummy again...

Yes, the tofu I use is without egg. I personally prefer the taste of eggless tofu. ;-)

Yes, D loves cheese. He's had it since he was 5.5 mths. There is salt, yes, but he only has 1.5cubes of Laughing Cow cubes and I personally think that the goodness of cheese cancels out the badness of the salt. Similar to things like Vegemite, Bovril. Very nutritious stuff but salty, so using in moderation is alright by me.

Lentils are similar to cooking beans. Bring to the boil, boil for a few min, then simmer till soft. Depends on the breed of lentils also. There are different colours for eg. It's a very healthy food.

Cute pics! No, I won't be joining the classes. Too expensive for me, esp cos I have to be there with him, can't just drop him off. ;-)

I do leave cooked porridge from afternoon till evening. I add the fish and veg just before I feed him.
 
MTDT - I went to consult another dr (belonging to the same group), also a GP, and he said its not suitable for babies under 2 and usually they dont give, cant remember what's it that is in the medicine. Anyway, the medicine is call FEDAC SYRUP, for runny nose/itch./ allergy.

Your baby very advanced leh, can crawl so well and even cruise liao...mine so funny, want to crawl but cannot move, so stuck with tummy on the ground, turning round and round.

My method of flashcards very simple one; I started with two cards and kept repeating those two for two/three days and introduce one new card by the third day. Increasingly, the bb will be 'reading' more and more cards. For each card, I'll say something abt the word, that the bb can relate to. I also dun do flashcards with numbers or alphabets. I guess it depends on indiv bb also, as some may find it a boring exercise. I do it every mornin before I leave for work for five mins :)) Btw, I have not tried speed flashcards though i know it's gd for bb's right brain.

I have also been doing flashcards with my girl. I will do it every morning and every evening but each time, there will be 5-6 cards. I will flash once slowly and another time fast and change 1 card every few days. Actually have been doing it since she was 3 months. Wonder do all these really help? How do you know your baby knows the word already? I didn't add too much stuff about the word - certain words like "curtains", I will place the word besides the curtain and say out loud but certain words like horse, don't know how to say leh... you have any clue?

I think our method is similar, expcet for the speed one. By now, I am doing 20 over cards at each go. I have not introduced any new words recently cos run out of cards already :p I dunno if the bb knows the word already but she smiles and giggles at some of the words..maybe it's the word it's being read. Eg ' clock', and 'pig'. For animals, I will tell her what kind of sounds these animals make, eg 'quack'. 'oink', or 'woof' etc. If its a hat, i'll show her her hat as well :))

Wow, you are doing 20+ cards at one go already! I am staying put with 5-6 cards each time. Same here, my girl will smile sweetly when I flash the cards to her but at the same time, will try to take the cards from me ... okie, will make sounds when I flash her words on animals. Your cards have pictures on them? Mine have only red words ... wonder will those cards with pictures help?

Have been corresponding with BJG via email. They have been quite sticky about sitting in a on-going class cos they said it's unfair to the babies currently registered with them.

Meanwhile, I have requested to sit in without bringing my girl cos I really want to know what goes on before committing to a term. Shouldn't disrupt their class then. Waiting for their response now. If they are agreeable, I'll try to go "look-see" during your time slot?

Re. Flashcards
Caitlyn seems to enjoy looking at the cards. I try to flash once a day.. Actually, I have no method of flashing (explains why I need to go to some form of classes for guidance!). Currently, I just flash thru either all the alphabet (A-Z) or number (1-20) cards at one go. And make the noises of the corresponding animal or sing number songs (aka Sasame Street's Count Dracula) to her at the same time.

I place her in a sitting position on my lap as I flash the cards. And she's also starting to love snatching the cards. My cards are beginning to look at "kiam chai". Haha.

Ur method is quite correct. Only that u did not do the fast flashing. It takes alot of training to flash fast.
